Receive files via Bluetooth

I can send files from my Windows 8.1 laptop but not receive.
When I try my phone says "the remote Bluetooth device rejected the request"
What can i do to fix the problem?
It did receive files before I updates to Windows 8.1

I have found the solution!!
There is a programme 'fsquirt'on the laptop.  It has to be used when receiving files.

    3. Specify directory to which you want to recieve files from Blue tooth device.
    4. Turn Blue tooth off and make it on.
Your MBP is now ready to recieve files from Andoriod phone.

  • N72 - locate receiving files via Bluetooth

N72 - I can't locate receiving files via Bluetooth to the location I need

    I'm afraid not.
This is the safties way, when you receive some files via BT. You should have control over it. In otherway someone can place some unwanted, dangerous file e.g. virus.
You can decide, delete it or record, and where. But notice, that when you open such a BT message, phone recognise art of file and prompt you where it store.

  • Can't receive files via bluetooth from my mobile phone

    Hi there,
I can't manage to send files from my phone to my MacBook Pro via bluetooth. I have (correctly, IMHO) set the bluetooth sharing options but my phone still can't send files to the laptop. However, I can send stuff from the Mac to the phone. It's a really weird issue, someone could help?

    Hi LadyMarwood,
I think the best solution for your problem is to try 'Photostream'. You can find this in iPhoto. Since it is photos you are trying to transfer, I think this is the best solution. If you have an active internet connection at home, the photos taken on any of your Apple products will be transferred throughout each device incuding your Mac. This is what I use to access all my photos on any device (iPad). If this is the kind of solution you are looking at, heres the process:
Go into 'Settings' --> iCloud --> And select Photos there by ticking --> Click 'Options' if you've got it on there and select both 'My Photostream' and 'Photo Sharing'.
Now, open up iPhoto --> Click on 'iPhoto' on the menu tab (to the left of the top of the screen) and click on preferences from the drop down menu --> Go into iCloud and select all the options.
The next step is to go to your iPhone and make sure that Photostream is turned on there as well. To do this, go into 'Settings' --> iCloud --> Photos --> and make sure that both 'My Photostream' and 'Photo Sharing' is turned on.
I think this the best alternative, since I too am an Android mobile owner, and I have to say that I prefer the Photostream option better than any method android offers, just because its in one safe and secure place to access all your photos at anytime and it is an option directly offered by Apple. JUST MAKESURE THAT YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION PROVIDES YOU WITH ENOUGH DATA, SINCE PHOTOSTREAMING DOES TAKE LARGE AMOUNTS TO UPLOAD YOUR PHOTOS, AND YOU DON'T WANT A HUGE BILL COMING OUT.
    But hope this helps!

  • Can't receive files via bluetooth

I can send files from my iMac to my Powerbook G4 10.5.5 but when I try send photos or music files from the Powerboook to the iMac (G4 10.5.5) it says the device "does not have the necessary services" What does that mean and why can't I send files?

This is a matter of hardware and/or software; either lacking
or present and not fully configured for the situation.
If the iMac G4 computer did not have the optional Bluetooth
module installed inside, as a Built-to-order feature when new
the computer would have to use an external USB Bluetooth
plug-in (has the antenna inside the dongle with the BT wi-fi)
and make sure there are adequate drivers installed; and be
sure the system can see the unit.
System Profiler can show any BT modules actively available
to the system; if the drivers are not available or other issues,
the module may not work; and if something suitable is lacking,
    it will not work.
So, if the optional built-to-order Bluetooth card was not factory
installed, you would have to try a third-party USB dongle and
the correct drivers, unless OS X 10.5.5 already includes them.
There may be an issue with the antenna (has to receive and send)
so if the item is a module external to the iMac G4, it may be bad.
Or, if the problem is in the other computer, that may also need work.
And there is a chance something else isn't set properly in one or the
other computer's configurations; if they are otherwise equal.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Macbook Pro won't receive files via bluetooth

Strangely, I can browse devices, and send to them, but never receive from anyone's phone including my own. It seems one way.
I have deleted all relevant preferences. Phones, etc. are paired, and the Macbook is discoverable, but a phone always says "send error", and the bluetooth activity sign appears on the Mac menubar, and then reverts to normal immediately.
Any thoughts as to the best troubleshooting pathway for this over what I have done already?
    Many thanks.

Here is the solution... Despite my faith in online support, apple's one really works!

  • Because the iPhone does not send or receive files via Bluetooth

I can not get any files :/

    iTunes File Sharing
    Dropbox
WiFi File Sharing apps from the AppStore (GoodReader, iFiles etc.)
    Google Drive
    Microsoft SkyDrive
    SugarSync
    iCloud (via compatible apps)
File sharing functions built-in to various apps
Those are the ones off the top of my head. There are more.

  • IMac doesn't receive files via bluetooth

I have a Bluetooth dongle in the USB port. It shows in Profiler. I can send files from the i MAc to my Powerbook but can't send files from the PB to the iMac. Bluetooth icons are on and the iMac is able to use wireless keyboard and mouse.
When I try to send files from the Powerbook an erro message says the iMAc "doesn't have the necessary services."

  • I can't receive files via Bluetooth File Exchange

Normally, I fetch my photo's from my Nokia mobile with Bluetooth File Exchange. Just connect, browse to the Pictures folder on the device, and drag-and-drop the photo's I want to a Finder window. However, now this doesn't work anymore. I can drag, but the mouse icon doesn't change to a green plus, and when I release the mouse button, the files fly back to the device browser.
The only change I can think off, is I installed some Apple updates (iTunes, OS X 10.7.3 supplemental, GarageBand, iPhoto, Safari) but there are no other changes I can think of.

It's fixed. The solution was to reboot the system.

  • I can't send files via bluetooth

My problem is that I can receive files via bluetooth, but I can't send files via it. Actually I can see the "receiving file" message on mobile, but as I wanna accept that file, I see a "receiving file" error. I tried this with several other phones, but I still have the same problem. I see this message when I run bluedevil-sendfile from terminal:
