Receiver File Adapter -- EndSeparator not 0d0a but 0a

Hi everybody,
I've got a problem sending a file from XI. When the file is created, the character written each end of line is, in hex code, 0d0a. But it seems that, the machine receiving the file, does not accept that code as a carriage return. How could i make XI write the files only with an '0A' as end separator?
My current configuration is:
FTP Transfer mode: Binary
Processing Parameters File Type: Binary
LINE_ITEM.endSeparator='0x0A'
LINE_ITEM.fieldSeparator='0'
I think i've made all the combinations in the receiver channels and the better i get is '0A0D'.
Thanks in advance.

I think you can solve the problem with a proxy.
I have been reading some post related with your problem in the forum:
Concatenate hex and text into text in old versions
File Conversion
Hexadecimal Value
Reading this I realize that if you use a proxy you can use the characted you want for the EOF (end of line). If when  using a  Java proxy you have the same problem, i am sure that there is any funcion that allows to add the hex value you want to place it in the place you want.
I hope this helps you.

    Hello gurus,
    I think receiver file adapter does not support attachments. But I do have a scenario where I receive additional files as SOAP payloads accompanying  the request message and I have to write them to a network directory. How can I achieve this?

  • Payload to receiver file adapter

    Hi guys,
    I have a scenario where I receive a message from SAP ERP via Proxy with a SOAP attachment. The message contains data about where on a file share the file shall be placed, and the attachment contains the PDF file to be placed. As far as I know the receiver file adapter does not support the payloadSwapBean - So the question is. Can this scenario be implemented? And if so, how?

  • Receiver File Adapter Not Executing OS Command

    Hello All!
    We are currently running PI 7.1 and wish to use a Receiver File Adapter to FTP a file to a mainframe and override the FTP system defaults.
    Tried using the 'quote site recfm=fb lrecl=80' OS command but discovered that this would not work as the Adapter Engine is NOT on the mainframe.
    Regrouped a bit and made a second attempt which involved writing a Unix script to ftp a file and override rthe system defaults.   The idea was to use the File Adapter to FTP the data to the server, invoke the script and get the file to the mainframe with the proper attributes.    The script when executed on the server works perfectly.
    However, when the IDoc comes thru PI, the File Adapter ftp's the file ok but the script is never executed.
    Any ideas why this is so or any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    Hi Ken,
    Script only executes at Network File sharing (NFS) only. It dont work at FTP level.
    So you can better write the file on NFS and then within the script to connect to ftp and do your processing.

  • Receiver file adapter not functioning

    Hi guys,
    We have developed some interfaces that are exporting some .txt files in ftp locations and therefore they make use of receiver file adapter. Although the receiver file adapter used to function properly some days ago, for some strange reason, it stopped receiving any files. This happens only in XI development system but not in XI production system. In XI development, in Runtime Workbench --> Communication Channel monitoring, I can see this communication channel's status as correctly configured and started, with a green sign on the right, but it is not responding when some files are sent to it, and therefore there are no output files in target directory.
    Any ideas?? It is urgent.

  • Receiver file adapter not responding

    Hi guys,
    I have 2 interfaces in XI development system that make use of receiver file adapter in order to receive some .txt files. Although these communication channels used to work until yesterday, for some strange reason they stopped functioning, but only in development system. However, I cannot see any error in Runtime Workbench (Communication channel monitoring), it's status is "correctly configured and started" and has a green sign. But, when I sent a file from sender adapter, it is sent correctly, but it never gets received from receiver communication channel.
    There is no error in SXMB_MONI either.
    In XI production system, the same interfaces are functioning well.
    Any ideas?

  • Problem with file content conversion in receiver file adapter

    Hi All
    I have a problem with file content conversion in receiver file adapter.
    This is my recordset structure: Header_Record,1,Claim_Record,*,Check_Rec,1
    These are the content conversion parameters:
    Header_Record.fieldSeparator = ,
    Header_Record.endSeparator = 'nl'
    Claim_Record.fieldSeparator = ,
    Claim_Record.endSeparator = 'nl'
    Check_Rec.fieldSeparator = ,
    Check_Rec.endSeparator = 'nl'
    In SXMB_MONI, i can see that the data is correctly extracted from proxy, and correctly mapped to receiver message, and i see a checkered flag (success).
    But, Adapter status is RED with the following error message:
    Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter '1.fieldFixedLengths' or '1.fieldSeparator' is missing
    In communication channel monitoring, i get the following error message:
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Channel has not been correctly initialized and cannot process messages
    What is going wrong here? Can anyone please tell me?
    Thanks

  • FTP Receiver File adapter  -- CRLF In output File in Windows environment.

    Hi All,
    Idoc to File : Receiver File adapter.
    I use the endseparator 'nl' and the output file is coming correctly with NFS and It is not working when we are doing with with FTP.
    Tested with NFS (Unix environment)
    I used the endseparator 'nl' and the output file is coming with CRLF.
    Tested with FTP (Windows environment)
    When I tested the same the output file is coming with LF.
    I tried by using the module "SAP XI Sample/ConvertCRLFfromToLF" which will convert from LFToCRLF.But it is serving my purpose.
    Can anyone please suggest how I can get the CRLF in the file while putting in the output directory which is in windows environment.
    Thanks
    Seema

    Do not mention endSeparator in content conversion parameters...by default XI puts newline as endSeparator
    It should work for NFS and FTP on Windows

  • Receiver file  adapter creates an innecesarry extra line

    Hi,
    I have an issue with an extra line that add the receiver file adapter with the content conversion.
    The file XML that the file adapter has to convert, is the next;
    <root>
    <cofig>
      <FileName>NameOfTheFile.txt</FileName>
      </cofig>
    <lines>
    <line>
      <data>BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB</data>
      <data>Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa</data>
    </lines>
    </root>
    Because FileName is not necessary, I remove it with:
    cofig.fieldFixedLengths 0
    cofig.fixedLengthTooShortHandling CUT
    but it leaves an empty line that i don't want. that is, the text in the file start in the second line.
    Any help?
    Thank you in advance.

    Can you do a small change in your mesg. structure ?
    change it to....
    <root>
    <lines>
    <line>
    <data>BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB</data>
    <data>Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa</data>
    </lines>
    <i><b><cofig>
    <FileName>NameOfTheFile.txt</FileName>
    </cofig></b></i>
    </root>
    and then use
    cofig.fieldFixedLengths 0
    cofig.fixedLengthTooShortHandling CUT
    followed by
    endSeparator 0

    Thanks in advance

    There is nothing wrong in your content conversion parameters. This is pure editors interpretation for the next line character.
    I would do in java program to fix this issue using '\r\n'   You might want to try and see how that helps for notepad editor.

  • Multiple Header line in Receiver File adapter

    Hi,
    I have an issue in Receiver File adapter with multiple header lines. I am able to get only 1 header lines in the receiver file but not multiple header lines with 'nl' since it is static in file mode
    [CommunityTag:Header]
    empNo,EmpName,Age
    [CommunityTag]
    I tried with the below in content conversion one as below with no luck
    Root.addHeaderLine=1
    Root.headerLine=[CommunityTag:Header] 'nl' empNo,EmpName,Age 'nl' [CommunityTag]
    Root.fiedSeparator=,
    Root.endSeparator='nl'
    I am getting the Header line as same row as static text.
    Can you advise this.

    Hi Gabriel, I suggest to produce the header lines from additional nodes in the message payload. That means you need to modify the data type of the target message in order to generate an extra structure in the payload. Use constants in message mapping to generate the header column names, e.g.
    <Header>
      <H1>CommunityTag:Header</H1>
      <H2>empNo,EmpName,Age</H2>
      <H3>CommunityTag</H3>
    </Header>
    In content conversion you have to convert the Header row with
    Header.endSeparator='nl'
    You won't need parameter addHeaderLine anymore then.

  • Receiving file adapter content conversion issue

    Guys,
    Could someone please help me with a Receiving file adapter issue?
    My output structure is something like this:
    Vendor_file_MT (occurence 1)
    --Recordset (occurence 0..unbounded)
    Vendor (occurence 1)
    Field1
    Field2
    Field3
    Field73
    Field74
    My content conversion is very simple:
    Recordset Structure: Vendor
    Parameters:
      Vendor.fieldFixedLengths   30,30,30, (...) ,1,27
      Vendor.fixedLengthTooShortHandling   Cut
      Vendor.endSeparator   'nl'
    If I don't do the content conversion, it works fine, I get all the fields in the XML format.
    When I do the content conversion however, I get multiple lines but only the very first field of each line.
    What could be the problem? What am I missing here? Any idea?
    Your help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Viktor

    Varga:
    Its little strange that its not working even after adding that.  Did you check the receiver channel in your RWB for any logs. Add the statement in my previous post and Also try to clear the Cache and activate the channel again..See if it works
    Glad it worked

  • New Line in EBCDIC file created by receiver file adapter

    Hi mates,
    I've configured the receiver file adapter to create a file in EBCDIC format by specifyin the File encoding 'Cp037'. When the file is viewed on the AS400 system using the command DSPPFM, it appears as a continuous text instead of line-by-line. I've tried specifying 0x0D(CR), 0x0A(LF), 'nl' as the endSeparator for the record type in content conversion, but no luck. Still the file looks like a continuous text.
    I learnt from the following links that the New Line character (NL or NEL) in AS400 is Unicode '0x85'.
    <a href="http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4867251">OutputStreamWriter/InputSreamReader convert NEL to linefeed with Cp037 encoding</a>
    <a href="http://search.cpan.org/~guido/libintl-perl-1.16/lib/Locale/RecodeData/IBM037.pm#CHARACTER_TABLE">CHARACTER TABLE</a>
    But when I specify this '0x85' as the endSeparator, I get the error below as 0x85 (decimal equivalent 133) is not part of the standard ascii code i.e. basic 127 codes
    <i>Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.NumberFormatException: Value out of range. Value:"85" Radix:16</i>
    Is there any way I can produce the EBCDIC file with new line as end separator for records?
    I appreciate your inputs.
    thx in adv
    praveen

    Instead of using binary mode for FTP and specifying encoding, endSeparator, I used the text mode and left the translation to the FTP server on AS400 system.
    Desirably, it generated the file with right encoding and new line characters.
