Recent Reinstall causing interesting Issue. Can anyone give me and answer??

Firstly here's my basic machine profile:
iBook G4
1.33Ghz Processor
512MB RAM (256 Wired, 256 In spare DIMM slot)
60GB HD (7200Rpm)
Mac OS X Tiger
External Display
I've recently had to reinstall my system due to a system wide error created by the classic desktop.
This error was causing my Automator actions to freeze my computer, the machine was also freezing randomly during different parts of the user login process (this happened on all accounts.
Initially I did an Archive and Install, I wanted to keep my user setting and files. This would work for about an hour and then certain things would hang the system, specifically:
(from what I tried) Opening windows too quickly (as the desktop was logging in). I was trying to get to Disk Utility.
Using Menus (trying to get to System Preferences).
I had been using the machine quite merrily for over a year, then one night I was running old software in Classic, this froze the machine.
I restarted the machine, Logged in (the machine still worked); I opened Classic preferences and clicked rebuild desktop (it says that this may fix software that's not running well in clasic.), this froze thye machine.
I restarted and this is when everthing went HAYWIRE!!!
That is how the machine came to be as it was.
After following the assistance from Apple's phone support I rebooted the machine holding shift, this gave me "Safe Boot" and I was able to save my work. The tech support also told me that my problem sounded like a system wide issue and that I should back up my data and zero-out the disk. This worked.
I reinstalled Tiger and got the most recent updates from Apple. The Machine is running beautifully now.
now.
The issue I bring forth is that I was using a system hack called "Screen Spanning Doctor", a hack that give iBook and iMac users the ability to turn off screen mirroring, It helped me greatly.
Now this should have been a software hack should it not? Because after reinstalling the system (from a Tiger DVD), the feature to span screens has remained... I don't understand how this is possible though
All comments are welcome, I hope someone can answer this strange issue for me.
regards,
Pete.

Hi Peter...
Try reading MacFixIt about tips of reinstalling OS after a system-wide failure:
http://www.macfixit.com/
One tip about Archive & Install is to uncheck "preserving (old) users internet settings" etc, that may bring any corrupted or unstable system files over, the key here is to start from a fresh new stable OS.
Did you also inadvertently migrate over the hack that you have mentioned? If it is software based, it should not be functioning when you perform the A&I method.
Since you have back up all your important data, your "last resort", and probably the "best garanteed way" of ensuring a new stable fresh OS, is to erase, reformat the drive and install from scratch.
Cheers

what is NACE and for what it is used?

    what is message type?
what is need of configuring the output type and message type and why???
How can u add the field in standard table and how can u make data flow into table field in that standard table field???
    Regards,
    Nirav Parekh

    Hi
Output type and Message Type Both are same
NACE is the Tcode used to link the Application type, Output Types and its processing Routines like ( Driver programs and attached Script forms or Smartforms).
You should know the Application of a document first Like:
for PO it is EF, for sales Doc's it is V1, for Delivery docs it is V2, for billing Doc's it is V3 etc.
so first select the Application type (ex: EF) for PO and press OUtput types
then a list will come in that you should know the related output type for PO.
in this case it is NEU,
select that and click on the processing Routines button on the left side
it will display the Medium, Driver Program and the Script form or smartform related to that document..
Output is a link between the Driver Program and the Sapscript,
An output type summarizes messages of the same meaning. It contains parameters that are valid for all its assigned messages, for example appropriate partner functions.
Transmission medium is a medium which the layout will be come out, this may be printout, Fax or Mail
    Check this link.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c8/19884743b111d1896f0000e8322d00/content.htm
    ex-how to config output type.
You will assign output types using Transaction NACE.
Do the follow steps to assign output type
1)Select Application Type V2 which will have description Shipping.
    2)Click on Output types button.
3)Go to change mode by pressing Ctrl+F4.
4)Select one output type which already exists
    5)Do Copy As(F6)
6)Give your output type against Output Type field.
7)Under General data Tab, Give Program and Form routine and Save the data.
i think it a work of functional guy but at senior level i think it is not a big deal for abaper.
    Output Determiantion :
You can use output control to automate either messages or subsequent processing of partner-specific messages"
This means, it provides a method for you to perform subsequent processing once a document is saved in the system. This subsequent processing is normally to print the document, but can also include activities such as:
    - Faxing the document
    - Emailing the document
    - Sending an idoc of the document
    - Sending an EDI message for the document (via an Idoc)
    - and so on.
In general, it uses the condition technique to determine what, if any, output is to be produced. The condition technique works by selecting key fields from the document (document type, plant, etc.) and matching them to master data records you have previously set up. If there is a match, then output is produced.
You can use transaction NACE for the output determination settings for all applications.
    1. When you start transaction NACE, a list of all represented applications appears.
    2. From this initial screen, you can access all the individual processing screens for output determination from the EDIT menu.
    3. Select the relevant application. This transaction does not have a menu path in customizing.
    Refer the following links.

    Check the following documentation
In NACE t-codewe have the application for each one. based on the application output type can be defined, based on output type script and print progrma can be defined.
If suppose data can be read from EDI then we should go for condition records.
So whenever we execute the script first composer checks the output type and then execute the program. in program whenever opn form FM will be populate then script will open first. After that again program till another FM will populate if it then script will populate........like it is cycle proces. Composer does all these things and at last it will submit that output to spool.
    Go to the Transaction NACE.
choose the related sub module.. like billing or shipping
    doubel click on Output Types
Choose the Output Type for which whcih you wanted your script to trigger
Then select the Output Type and double click on Processing Routine
Then go to create new entries--> Select the Medium (1- print output), then enter your Script and Print Program detls --> Save and come out
Now go to the Transaction (for which you have created the output type)... Issue output--> Select the output type --> Print....
Device Types for SAP Output Devices (Detail Information)
    Definition
The device type indicates the type of printer to be addressed. When you define an output device, choose the name of the device type that was defined in the SAP System for your printer model, such as Post2 for a PostScript printer. In the case of frontend printing under Microsoft Windows, you can also use the generic (device-independent) device type SWIN.
The system uses the information in the device type to convert a document from the internal SAP character representation (spool request in OTF or in text format) to a device-specific, print-ready data stream (output request). Since a device type specifies attributes that apply to all devices of a certain model, it can be shared among device definitions. For example, all devices in the SAP spool system that are compatible with Hewlett-Packard LaserJet IIID printers would use the HPLJIIID device type.
You should not confuse the device type with the printer driver. The device type is the total of all attributes of an output device that the SAP System must know to control the output device correctly, such as control commands for font selection, page size, character set selection, and so on. These attributes also include the printer driver that SAPscript/Smart Forms (the SAP form processor) should use for this printer. The SAPscript printer driver that is to be used for devices of this type for output formatting is therefore only an attribute that the device type specifies.
How do I choose the correct device type?
    • In most cases, the SAP System already provides the appropriate device type for the printer type for the printer model that you want to use.
These standard device types are completely defined and need no modification or extension before you use them in device definitions.
    • You can also download missing device types from the sapserv server. For a current list of the supported device types, see SAP Note 8928 in the SAP Service Marketplace.
    • Most printers can be controlled using a generic format, such as PostScript. They can be switched to a mode that is compatible with one of the standard printers for which an SAP device type is available. In this case, a supported model is emulated.
    • Almost all printers are delivered with Microsoft Windows printer drivers. The system can control these printers with the generic (device-independent) device type SWIN. The Microsoft Windows spool system then performs the processing of the print data.
    • If the specified device types are not available, and generic device types cannot be used, you must create your own device type or edit a copy of an existing device type. We recommend that only those with specialist knowledge of the SAP Spool System and printer driver code do this. For more information, see Defining a New Device Type .
    Attributes of a Device Type
A device type is distinguished by the attributes listed below. If you change an existing device type or create a new device type, you must change at least some of these attributes.
    • Character set: A character set specifies the codes with which characters must be represented in the print-ready output stream (output request). This code replaces the generic SAP characters set that is used internally by the SAP spool system (spool request).
    • Printer driver: You can specify different printer drivers for printing SAPscript documents and ABAP lists.
    • Print controls: Print controls represent printer operations, such as boldface or changing the font size. These print control are replaced by printer-specific commands during the creation of the output request from a spool request.
    • Formats: Formats specify the format supported by the SAP system. The system differentiates between SAPScript formats (DINA4 and LETTER) and ABAP list formats (X_65_132 = 65 rows/132 columns).
    • Page format: A page format is the interface between a format and SAPscript. It specifies the paper dimensions with which SAPScript can calculate the row and column lengths.
    • Actions: Actions are output device-specific commands that are required for the implementation of a format. The action printer initialization, for example, can contain a printer command with which the number of rows on a page is defined. There is a set of actions for every format supported by a device type.
Using the APPend structure in the menu of SE11 Table we can add new fields into table
and these two new fields are to be placed on a screena nd are to be populated along with the transaction data from the related transaction of that table.

  • Can anyone give a good contact number for someone in the upper level of customer service

can anyone give a good contact number for someone in the upper level of customer care i have talked to two of the worst people from customer service, the "supervisor" who was very appropriate did give me a address to mail a complaint which i will but being a disabled veteran of the Iraq war and a member of the wounded warrior project i get upset at certain people who show no respect for the average person and even worse of an attitude to those injured serving their country. I'm in no way saying I'm better its just that i expect a grain of respect as a person, a fellow American working everyday just to get by. my issue was not an impossible issue to resolve but i was told by one rep that it was not possible after my call being "dropped" i called back and talked to another. Luke from call center Washington state told me it was possible but that the phone i ordered two days prior (that rep failed to finish the order)was no longer available and i could pick a different phone not on back order.......i mentioned my confusion to the lack of service and being told two separate things. i asked why this was when i was not the one who made the mistake he told me it was not there fault and pushed the blame to me....he then called me dude and started to speak over me. when i asked to speak to a supervisor he asked why i told him i was no longer interested in talking to him he said why, i asked to be transferred again he kept refusing saying listen man I'm trying to help you what do you want. i asked to speak to his supervisor at least three more times he refused. i asked for his employee information so i could call back to report his rude behavior he refused to give me anything except at the end he finally told me his name.. there is more but my hand is tired is there anyone who can help me? if i find an answer as i will be posting this to many sites i will post it here.

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Seed_Database.dfb in Oracle 11g is corrupted, can anyone give me this file.

I downloaded Oracle 11g database from oracle.com but when i extract .zip file it showed Seed_Database.dfb is corrupted at following path
    win32_11gR1_database(1).zip\database\stage\Components\oracle.rdbms.install.seeddb\11.1.0.6.0\1\DataFiles\Expanded\filegroup1\
I have installed oracle 11g, but it didn't installed properly because Seed_Database.dfb file was not present.
Can anyone give me that file for oracle 11g, any link from where i can download that file only, or email me that file at [email protected] Also, it is not possible for me or anyone to download the full .zip file of oracle 11g of 1.7 GB again.

Even I am also still facing the same Problem. The issue here is even if we download the Install media, its in Jar format (Im referring to Solaris Install media). I couldn't find any article referring to which jar file contains the Seed_Database.dfb. Without knowing this the only option available is to reInstall Oracle again. But this is useless since we only need the Started Database and not the S/W itself.
Or the only other option is creating a new custom DB thru the dbca command. (But ofcourse you should be a hard core Oracle DBA professional to create a DB from scratch!).

  • Can anyone give me ABAP scenarios?

Can anyone give me ABAP scenarios supporting MM/SD module and also for HR module(ABAP-HR).Thanks in advance.

    HI,
    The Dataflow Of MM:
    1) Purchasing Requisition -> sent by inventory dept to purchasing dept
    2) Request for Quotation(RFQ)-> Purchasing Dept shall ask the vendors to give the quotation for the requested materials by inventory.
    3) Quotation -> Quotation is sent by vendors to the company
    4) Purchase order-> Based on all parameters of a quotation sent by vendors. Vendors are selected from whom the material has to be obtained. The company gives purchase order to the vendor.
    5) Good's receipt -> vendors sends the goods to the company with goods receipt
    6) Invoice verification -> this receipt. done based on good's this means that the ordered goods have reached or not.
    7) Payment -> payment is done based on invoice verification. this is (FI/CO)
    SD FLOW
    SD Flow Cycle:
    INQUIRY ( VA11)
    QUOTATION (VA21)
    PURCHASE ORDER (ME21)
    ORDER CONFIRMATION (VA01)
    PICKING LIST – (VL36)
    PACKING LIST - (VL02, VL01)
    SHIPPING – (VT01)
    INVOICE – (VF21, VF01)
    MM Cycle:
Purchase Requisition-> Staff in an orgn places Pur requisition for want of some goods/products - ME51
Request for Quotation (RFQ)-> The Purchase dept in the organ calls/requests for the quotation for the products against which PR was raised. - ME41
Vendor Evaluation->After receiving the RFQ's, after comparison a Vendor is finalized based on the terms and conditions.
Purchase Order (PO) -> Pur order was issued to that vendor asking him to supply the goods/products -ME21N
Goods Receipt Note (GRN) ->Vendor supplies the material/Products to the orgn-
    MB01
Goods Issue (GI) -> People receives their respective items for which they have placed the Requisitions
Invoice Verification-> Along with the Material Vendor submits a Invoice for which the Company Pays the amount - .MIRO
Data to FI -> data will be posted to FI as per the vendor invoices
Enquiry - Customer enquires about the Products services that were sold by a company - VA11
Quotation - Company Gives a Quotation for the products and Services to a Customer
Sales Order - Customer gives a Purchase order to the company against which a Sales order will be raised to Customer in SAP.
    VBAK: Sales Document(Header Data) (VBELN)
    VBAP: Sales Document(Item Data) (VBELN,POSNR,MATNR,ARKTX,CHARG)
Enquiry, Quotation, Sales Order are differentiated based on Doc.
Type(VBTYP field) in VBAK,VBAP Tables( for Enquiry VBTYP = A,
for Quotation 'B' & for Order it is 'C'.)
Delivery(Picking, Packing, Post Goods Issue and Shipment)->
Company sends the material after picking it from Godown and Packing it in a Handling Unit(box) and Issues the goods
    LIKP: Delivery Table (Header Data)(VBELN,LFART,KUNNR,WADAT,INCO1)
    LIPS: Delivery Table (Item Data)(VBELN,POSNR,WERKS,LGORT,MATNR,VGBEL)
    (LIPS-VGBEL = VBAK-VBELN, LIPS-VGPOS = VBAP-POSNR)
Billing - Also company bills to the customer for those deliveries
And in FI against this billing Accounting doc is created.
    VBRK: Billing Table(Header Data)(VBELN,FKART,BELNR)
    VBRP: Billing Table(Item Data)(VBELN,POSNR,FKIMG,NETWR,VGBEL,VGPOS)
    (VBRP-AUBEL = VBAK-VBELN, VBRP-VGBEL = LIKP-VBELN)
Apart from these tables there are lot of other tables which starts with
‘V’, but we use the following tables frequently.
    MM Process flow:
The typical procurement cycle for a service or material consists of the following phases:
    1. Determination of Requirements
Materials requirements are identified either in the user departments or via materials planning and control. (This can cover both MRP proper and the demand-based approach to inventory control. The regular checking of stock levels of materials defined by master records, use of the order-point method, and forecasting on the basis of past usage are important aspects of the latter.) You can enter purchase requisitions yourself, or they can be generated automatically by the materials planning and control system.
    2. Source Determination
the Purchasing component helps you identify potential sources of supply based on past orders and existing longer-term purchase agreements. This speeds the process of creating requests for quotation (RFQs), which can be sent to vendors electronically via SAP EDI, if desired.
    3. Vendor Selection and Comparison of Quotations
The system is capable of simulating pricing scenarios, allowing you to compare a number of different quotations. Rejection letters can be sent automatically.
    4. Purchase Order Processing
the Purchasing system adopts information from the requisition and the quotation to help you create a purchase order. As with purchase requisitions, you can generate Pos yourself or have the system generate them automatically. Vendor scheduling agreements and contracts (in the SAP System, types of longer-term purchase agreement) are also supported.
    5. Purchase Order Follow-Up
the system checks the reminder periods you have specified and - if necessary - automatically prints reminders or expediters at the predefined intervals. It also provides you with an up-to-date status of all purchase requisitions, quotations, and purchase orders.
    6. Goods receiving and Inventory Management
Goods Receiving personnel can confirm the receipt of goods simply by entering the Po number. By specifying permissible tolerances, buyers can limit over- and under deliveries of ordered goods.
    7. Invoice Verification
The system supports the checking and matching of invoices. The accounts payable clerk is notified of quantity and price variances because the system has access to PO and goods receipt data. This speeds the process of auditing and clearing invoices for payment.
Order to cash flow in sd
It is basically an entire sales cycle.
A customer orders some items from your company by creating a sales order (Tcodes: VA01, VA02, VA03, Tables:VBAK, VBAP etc).
Your company decides to deliver the items ordered by the customer. This is recorded by creating an outbound delivery document (TCodes:VL01N, VL02N, VL03N, Tables: LIKP, LIPS etc).
Once the items are available for sending to the customer, you post goods issue which reduces your inventory and puts the delivery in transit. This will create a material document. You will post goods issue using VL02N but the material document created will be stored in tables MKPF, MSEG.
You will then create shipment document to actually ship the items.(Tcodes: VT01N, VT02N, VT03N, Tables: VTTK, VTTP etc).
You finally create a sales billing document. (TCodes: VF01, VF02, VF03, Tables: VBRK, VBRP etc). This will have a corresponding accounting document created that will be in BKPF, BSEG tables.
When customer pays to your invoice, it will directly hit your AR account in FI.
You will have to remember that these are not a required sequence. Some times, you may configure your system to create a SD invoice as soon as you create a sales order or you may not create a shipping document at all. This is where your functional consultant will come into picture to study your order-to-cash process and design/configure the system to do so.
    Flow :
    Sales Order Creation : VA01,VA02,VA03
    Tables : VBAK,VBAP,VBEP,VBUK,VBUP
    Delivery : two types
    1 .outbound delivery - VL01n,VL02n
    2. inbound delivery - VL31n,VL32n
    Tables : LIKP,LIPS
    Transfer order : LT01,LT02,LT03
    Tables : LTAK,LTAP
    Post Goods issue : VL01n,VL02N
if you want to reverse good issue : VL09
    Creation Billing : VF01,VF02,VF03
    Tables : VBRK,VBRP
    Cancel Billing : VF11
Once you done billing and it creates Account document number

    hi,
    Update Methods,
    a.1: (Serialized) V3 Update
    b. Direct Delta
    c. Queued Delta
    d. Un-serialized V3 Update
Note: Before PI Release 2002.1 the only update method available was V3 Update. As of PI 2002.1 three new update methods are available because the V3 update could lead to inconsistencies under certain circumstances. As of PI 2003.1 the old V3 update will not be supported anymore.
    a. Update methods: (serialized) V3
    • Transaction data is collected in the R/3 update tables
    • Data in the update tables is transferred through a periodic update process to BW Delta queue
    • Delta loads from BW retrieve the data from this BW Delta queue
    Transaction postings lead to:
    1. Records in transaction tables and in update tables
    2. A periodically scheduled job transfers these postings into the BW delta queue
    3. This BW Delta queue is read when a delta load is executed.
    Issues:
    • Even though it says serialized , Correct sequence of extraction data cannot be guaranteed
    • V2 Update errors can lead to V3 updates never to be processed
    Update methods: direct delta
    • Each document posting is directly transferred into the BW delta queue
    • Each document posting with delta extraction leads to exactly one LUW in the respective BW delta queues
    Transaction postings lead to:
    1. Records in transaction tables and in update tables
    2. A periodically scheduled job transfers these postings into the BW delta queue
    3. This BW Delta queue is read when a delta load is executed.
    Pros:
    • Extraction is independent of V2 update
    • Less monitoring overhead of update data or extraction queue
    Cons:
    • Not suitable for environments with high number of document changes
    • Setup and delta initialization have to be executed successfully before document postings are resumed
    • V1 is more heavily burdened
    Update methods: queued delta
    • Extraction data is collected for the affected application in an extraction queue
    • Collective run as usual for transferring data into the BW delta queue
    Transaction postings lead to:
    1. Records in transaction tables and in extraction queue
    2. A periodically scheduled job transfers these postings into the BW delta queue
    3. This BW Delta queue is read when a delta load is executed.
    Pros:
    • Extraction is independent of V2 update
    • Suitable for environments with high number of document changes
    • Writing to extraction queue is within V1-update: this ensures correct serialization
    • Downtime is reduced to running the setup
    Cons:
    • V1 is more heavily burdened compared to V3
    • Administrative overhead of extraction queue
    Update methods: Un-serialized V3
    • Extraction data for written as before into the update tables with a V3 update module
    • V3 collective run transfers the data to BW Delta queue
    • In contrast to serialized V3, the data in the updating collective run is without regard to sequence from the update tables
    Transaction postings lead to:
    1. Records in transaction tables and in update tables
    2. A periodically scheduled job transfers these postings into the BW delta queue
3.This BW Delta queue is read when a delta load is executed.
    Issues:
    • Only suitable for data target design for which correct sequence of changes is not important e.g. Material Movements
    • V2 update has to be successful
    hope it helps

  • Can anyone give me a link to an appropriate forum please?

    Hi,
I use Premiere Elements 13 but I have a query regarding my Adobe Audition 3 - which of course is now well out of date.
Maybe it's just because I'm having a bad day - or have recently retired, but can anyone give me a link to an appropriate forum for this out of date but excellent software.   You never know I might be lucky getting my query resolved! :-)
    Thanks in advance anyone!

    Offul Duster
Please explore the following link for the Adobe Audition 3.0.1 and Earlier Forum
    Audition 3.0.1 and earlier
Hope all is going well with your Premiere Elements 13 projects. Have you updated 13 to 13.1 yet using an opened project's Help Menu/Updates. If not, please consider doing so.
Best wishes with your Adobe Audition and Premiere Elements projects..

Buy the "AT&T" model iPad, not the Verizon one (which does not support SIM cards used most everywhere in the world).  The ATT model comes with a SIM card, but you can then get one from a UK provider.  Be sure it's a "microSIM" card, not the larger kind when back in the UK.
