Recompile Java class on middle tier

<br>
We have a requirement where we have to disable Seeded EmployeeName LOV on the iexpense page but
there is hard coded validation in the AMImpl class file. I cant bypass it.
So I want to comment the lines which does the validation.
But I am unbale to recompile it as it throws errors.
I tried to comment the exception lines in Seeded AM and recompiled it again. But I get 3 errors when i
recompile on the middle tier. I know it is not patch independent. I just want to confirm.
When I comment these 3 lines it compiles successfully.

Can you pls tell me what could be the problem?

I have all the product specific classes in my myclasses folder which are related <b>OIE</b>. I do Not have Non-Product specific classes though in myclasses folder.
Could you pls suggest.

  • "Import Java Classes"in Oracle6i Forms

    Hello
    I have two questions regarding importing java classes in Forms 6i
    1- How we can add my own class to this list, so that I can import it directly in form 6i and use it?
    2- When these classes are used in form development, are they fully imported to client side or only class wrapper is ported to forms. I m asking this question, cuz I want to develop my application with all bussiness logic(Java classes) in middle tier ie Form Server.
    Can anyone guide me in this regard
    Thanks in advance
    Asif

    OK answers to the questions are:
    1) If your class is on the classpath it will be picked up by the Java importer but you have to restart Forms if you add the class to the path
    2) THe java importer is for middle tier. In Forms, all ofthe application logic is on the middle tier and if you want it integrate this with Java the importer will create a PLSQL wrapper to call the Java - in pretty much the same way as ORA_FFI. (So NOT imported into the client)
    There are some white papers on OTN.

  • Calling Custom XSLT java class from BPEL in SOA Suite 11g

    Hi All,
    Morning...need some help with this issue...we are currently on SOA Suite 11g (11.1.1.4) version.
    Earlier while we were on SOA Suite version 10g (10.1.3.3) we were calling the custom java classes from the xsl mapping for complex transformation and for this we were placing the .class file as .jar file at the location mentioned here $OC4J_HOME/j2ee/home/applib directory and then mentioning the namespace as http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/{$classname$} in the XSLT mapping file.
    Now in SOA Suite 11g if we need to retain similar functionality for external custom java calls could someone please help us where do we need to put the .jar file now ..
    exactly at which directory location/path and on which instance/server (application server instance or middle tier instance ) we need to put this .jar file
    Currently we are stuck and need some help with this.
    With thanks & Regards

    Hi Eric & Anuj,
    Thanks for replying , sorry for checking on this now...
    here at this path /opt101/app/oracle/SOAD/SOA11gR1/fmw/Oracle_SOA1/soa/modules/oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1
    we got the ora.soa.ext.jar file and extracted it to get the MANIFEST.mf file ..have mentioned below.
    Now if we need to link our custom .jar file named customfunctions.jar so we need to mention it as below is this correct :
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.7.1
    Created-By: 17.0-b17 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    Implementation-Vendor: Oracle
    Implementation-Title: Oracle SOA EXT
    Implementation-Version: 11.1.1
    Product-Name: Oracle SOA EXT
    Product-Version: 11.1.1.4.0
    Specification-Version: 11.1.1
    Extension-Name: oracle.soa.ext
    Class-Path: classes/
    Class-Path:customfunctions.jar classes/ -- is this the way to mention (means we need to add this additional line or we need to add to the existing line at Class-Path: classes/)
    2.
    Eric the Alternative method mentioned in your update :
    Open a command prompt and change the current directory to the oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1 directory ,
    then execute the build.xml file in the oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1 folder using Ant
    Now could someone please guide us regards this ANT means how does it work and its relation to the build.xml file and how do we check whether we have ANT utility available or not..
    not much conversant with this ANT hence asking here..would lookout for your reply
    thank you

    I think something wrong in portal metadata installed by RepCA. What is the name of "Version table"? Can I use original (imported from "new database repository") part of portal schema?
    Thanks in advance,
    Wit.

    btw,
    google:// and metalink:// brings no hits for solution or even mention of problem (forums:// too as always :c/), so I've try to:
    1. Install MT BI software on Machine B (ignoring opca errors done OK).
    2. Install Infrastructure metadata repository at Machine C (db v90150 done OK).
    3. Implement the metalink://note.276688.1 (in process, report follows).
    btw2,
    JAVA$CLASS$MD5$TABLE is only table absent in RepCA's portal schema (in comparing with usual way installation). Treated it as a "version table" by opca?

  • Middle tier: NT vs. Unix or Linux

    Currently, we use WindowsNT on our forms servers. We develop on windows workstations as well. We are considering moving our middle tier onto unix or linux. Shouldn't be a big deal, right? Just recompile the .fmb's on the server.
    Are there any gotcha's with this? Do the forms render exactly the same when run from a browser, regardless of the middle tier? If not, what are some differences? I assume additional care would have to be taken with fonts?
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Brian,
    you have to recompile all .fmb, .mmb and .pll, .rdf will still work unchanged on Unix.
    The only problem is case sensitivity on Unix
    (especially with library attachments, and don't forget the menu and the gif icons).
    Since .fmb's contain the source in plain text, you could have Perl search and replace
    for the icon names and the like.
    Since Webforms is using java fonts, the
    forms look exactly the same on Unix.
    For Reports, you might have to work on the
    font mapping ($ORACLE_HOME/guicommon6/tk60/admin/uifont.ali) if your printer doesn't support the fonts you are using natively.
    Hope that helps.

  • Reading CSV on middle tier

    I have two applications where I need to read standard comma delimited text data. I would like to bind a VO to a csv as its data source, and am assuming that many have done this before. Is there a 'ready to use' extended class I can use?
    In one app, I only need to read the rows in a table. Period.
    In another I need to write the rows to a 9.2 database.
    Any help, much appreciated.
    -Nat

    Nat,
    By the Middle Tier I assume you mean an EJB bean (Session or Entity).
    Read the J2EE Spec, Chapter 24.1.2, Programming Restrictions regarding File I/O. The spec states "An enterprise bean must not use the java.io package to attempt to access files and directories in the file system." The reason provided by the spec is "The file system API's are not well suited for business components to access data. Business components should use a resource manager API, such as JDBC, to store data."
    My application needs to create database records and corresponding directories in the file system. I have succeeded in doing this by using JNDI File System Service provider as sketched below:
    ***** Session Bean ******
    package myco.i.Demo.ejb;
    import javax.ejb.SessionBean;
    import myco.i.Demo.dao.DocDAO;
    public class DemoFacadeBean implements SessionBean
    { private   DocDAO aDocDao;
    public void ejbCreate()
    {  aDocDao = new DocDAO();  }
    public void addDoc(DocDto theDoc)
    throws DocDAOException
    {  DocDAO.addDoc(theDoc);  }
    ***** DAO Code ******
    package myco.i.Demo.dao;
    import myco.i.Demo.dto.DocDto;
    public class DocDAO {
    private Context fsCtx;
    // Constructor
    public DocDAO()
    super();
         // Set up the initial File System context
         Hashtable env = new Hashtable(11);
         env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
         "com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory");
         env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "file : /Demo");
         try { fsCtx = new InitialContext(env); }
         catch {...}
    // Business methods
    public void addDoc(aDoc)
    throws DocDAOException
    Context newDir = fsCtx.createSubcontext(aDoc.getLocation());
    ... JDBC Code to create new database record ...
    To make this work I had to copy the JNDI File System provider classes (fscontext.jar, providerutil.jar)into the JRE (inherently insecure if someone hacks your site). I don't know if this is any better then setting the security on your app server to allow Java.io.* (JNDI has some overhead).
    You can use java.io from within the web container (jsp's/Servelets), but you loose a little bit of transaction processing. I may end up choosing this direction to stay within the spec.
    Hope this helps.

  • Calling java classes from plsql procedures

    I'm attempting to call java classes from plsql procedures which will create cmsdk users, folders, groups etc, however when I attempt to load a java class into the oracle schema using the command:
    loadjava -user user/password@database -resolve classname.class
    It generates error messages to the effect that classes (cmsdk classes) required by the class cannot be found. The class is loaded and marked with the status "invalid". Is it therefore necessary for me to load the cmsdk packages into the schema?
    Cheers
    David

    Using CMSDK Java API within the database has never been supported
    (see Problems loading IFS's java class into database
    When we needed to invoke CMSDK code from our PL/SQL code, we used one of two approaches:
    (1) use advanced queues to send requests to an external Java program (the CMSDK code, running outside the database) and receive the results back (asynchronous choice); or
    (2) make an HTTP request to a Java servlet (the CMSDK code, running in some Java web container like iAS) and get the response back in some custom format (XML or something) (synchronous choice).
    It seems to me that the CMSDK Java API was designed to be used only in middle-tier, not in database tier.

    Daniel.

  • Applet clients accessing EJB middle-tier

    Hello
    I am trying to have an Applet access the stateless session EJBs on the middle tier (OC4J 9.0.3)
    The applet works fine in the AppletViewer.
    However in the IE browser version 5.5, I get java.security.AccessControlException.
    Which I can understand because applet is not allowed to open a RMI-IIOP port on the remote server.
    What steps do I need to take to allow the applet to open such a connection. Signing jars?, java.poclicy file ?
    I know that this setup works fine on JBoss and also on WebSphere. (using certificates)
    Is this not suported by OC4J? Does the server need to support something or is it strictly a client side issue?
    Any comments will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    vijay

    We are having Applet-clients with OC4J and it works fine. We sign all our client-jars (including oc4jclient.jar) and our application has all permissions at the client. Modifying java.policy works as well, but signing Jar-Files is simpler and doesn't need any client-changes.
    For normal operations it seems ok to include oc4client.jar for the client application, but we are using JMS and therefore need a lot of classes of oc4j.jar - so I buildt my own deployment-jar out of oc4j.jar.
    If you use the cache_archive and cache_version attributes in the html-tag, all the jar-files are only downloaded at application startup if they are changed on the server (und version-numbers are increased). So startup-time is comparable to a local application.

  • Invoking a method from a java class to a jsp file

    Maybe i'm going through a very basic error, but as i've looked for in some forums and nothing found decided to post. So let's go to the problem.
    Well, i have a form in a jsp file, it's basicaly html, but as i need some select boxes populated with data from the database i decided to create some methods in java classes. This is the point.
    My method receive some attributes, like the table and colums names, the name of the select box and the HttpServletResponse object.
    So after making all the database process. The method is supposed to write the result through the out.println(); object
    It goes everything all right except that the method seems to be called first than the html code coz' my select boxes comes above the head in the begin of the page and was supposed to come in the middle.
    part of the code:
    package pacote;
    import java.packages.*
    public class Class{
    public void metodo(HttpServletResponse response, String tableName, String column name, String selectName){
    PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
    openConnection();
    //After making the query stuff
    //caso no haja nada na consulta
         if(rst == null)
         out.println("No h registros.");
         else{
         out.println( "<select name='" +SelectName + "' id='" +SelectName + "' class=\"input_ob\" >");
         out.println( "<option value=''>Escolha: "+objeto+"</option>");
         //fill the select body with options; A while that sweap the resultSet and use the out object to write the results
         getSelectBody(out,rst, selectValue);
    }This method is called this way:
    <tr valign="baseline">
        <td nowrap align="right">Grupo</td>
        <jsp:useBean id="m" scope="page" class="pacote.Class" />
            <td>
              <%
              try{
                   m.metodo(response, "tabela","grupo","id_grupo);
              } catch (IOException e) {
                   // TODO Auto-generated catch block
                   e.printStackTrace();
                        %></td>I'd like to know what i'm missing here. why the answer doesn't go in the place It's supposed to go.
    any answer will be greatly apreciated

    The issue is caused because you are using the response to get the writer directly.
    The JSP has gotten the same writer, but has wrapped it in a JSPWriter class. That class has got a buffer.
    So it writes the beginning html to the JSPWriter buffer.
    You write your stuff to the response writer - gets sent to the output.
    It writes more stuff to the JSPWriter buffer, then flushes that buffer - at which point all the text written into the JSP writer now gets added to the response.
    You see how your code is coming out first?
    Solution - instead of getting the writer from the response, pass the writer into your method (maybe instead of response if you don't use response for anything else)
    public void metodo(Writer jspWriter, String tableName, String column name, String selectName){
      PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(jspWriter);
      ...That means that you will be writing to the same writer, and the text should come out in sequence.
    Cheers,

  • Oracle forms 10g (win Xp middle tier IE 8             Win 7- IE 8 client)

    forms services 10.1.2.0.2
    Database 11gR2 also on Win Xp pro SP3
    Hi
    I have a problem with java and Jinitiator and my understanding of what is / should be happening.
    In the file forms/server/formsweb.cfg see below. I can alter the parameter
    baseHTMLjinitiator=basejini.htm
    ###baseHTMLjinitiator=basejpi.htm
    between the two alternatives. As it stands as shown the IE8 on the middle tier and on the database PC both work as near correctly as i can tell. On the Win 7 client IE 8 however crashes. switch it to the other way around and the
    win 7 works and the win xp on the database server stops with frm-92095 error version number too low. while on the middle tier Xp PC a blank doucument is displayed.
    How can i have both working at the same time please. I you need more information i will happily supply it.

    # formsweb.cfg defines parameter values used by the FormsServlet (frmservlet)
    # This section defines the Default settings. Any of them may be overridden in the
    # following Named Configuration sections. If they are not overridden, then the
    # values here will be used.
    # The default settings comprise two types of parameters: System parameters,
    # which cannot be overridden in the URL, and User Parameters, which can.
    # Parameters which are not marked as System parameters are User parameters.
    # SYSTEM PARAMETERS
    # These have fixed names and give information required by the Forms
    # Servlet in order to function. They cannot be specified in the URL query
    # string. But they can be overridden in a named configuration (see below).
    # Some parameters specify file names: if the full path is not given,
    # they are assumed to be in the same directory as this file. If a path
    # is given, then it should be a physical path, not a URL.
    # USER PARAMETERS
    # These match variables (e.g. %form%) in the baseHTML file. Their values
    # may be overridden by specifying them in the URL query string
    # (e.g. "http://myhost.mydomain.com/forms/frmservlet?form=myform&width=700")
    # or by overriding them in a specific, named configuration (see below)

    You have a mixture of problems here.
    1. Oracle Jinitiator is not supported for use on Windows 7
    2. JRE 1.7 is not supported for use with any version of Forms on any platform. Be sure you do not have this version installed.
    3. JRE 1.6 is not supported for use with Forms 10.1.2.0.2, however is supported with 10.1.2.3 (10.1.2.0.2 + patch ID 5983622) and only with IE 8
    4. In order to use Win 7 with Forms 10 in a certified and supported manner, you must use 10.1.2.3 (meaning 10.1.2.0.2 + patch ID 5983622).
    In short, my recommendation would be the following:
    o Patch to 10.1.2.3 (assuming you have access to MyOracleSupport)
    o Don't bother trying to use Oracle Jinitiator as it is old and has been desupported for a long time.
    o Uninstall any instances of Jinitiator as it can cause conflicts with other JRE installations.
    o Uninstall all instances of JRE 1.7. Reconfig your formsweb.cfg to use the JRE (Java Plugin) 1.6.0

  • Clearing custom java classes from cache

    Hi,
    I've written some java classes and am accessing them via the "cfobject" tag.
    My problem is that each time I recompile my java program, coldfusion continues using a cached version of my custom class' bytecode... so I can't really see my changes without restarting coldfusion.
    (I've turned off all caching in the cfadmin, but it doesn't seem to help)
    Any ideas on how to do this would be appreciated.
    (using coldfusion 8)
