Recording System Audio in Captivate 6

I am running Captivate 6 on Windows 7, but i don't see the option of recording System Audio during capture. Please advise ...

This option only came in with Captivate 6.1 Subscription Edition.  It's also in Cp7.  If you do not have these versions you won't see it.

  • Can you record system audio from a video??

I am trying to simply record a video but there is no options for recording system audio, therefore it will not recrod the sound. Is there anyway to do this?

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
You have option of Audio Recording in Adobe Captivate while using Software Simulation or Video Demo (Captivate 6.0)
You can move the Microphone (For Audio Recording) closer to Computer's speaker.

  • Hardware Requirement for Recording System Audio

Hi all. I want to record the system audio using Captivate,
but that function in my PC is disabled. I read all previous topic
regarding this problem and wonder what's the minimum requirement
for sound card or any related hardware to accomplish that need?
    Thanks!

    Welcome to our community, LyreLu
There used to be an issue with RealTek hardware, but the
developers addressed that with a patch for Captivate 2. Captivate 3
shouldn't need anything special to work with that hardware.
As for system audio, it is my understanding that this issue
is one created by the hardware. You have a couple of options.
    1. Obtain a small patch cable and connect it from the Speaker
out to the Mic or Line in line. Then record audio as it plays.
(I've done this with reasonably decent results)
    2. Use software that overcomes the issue. One such product is
called FreeCorder. You may visit the download page using the link

  • Recording System Audio in Bootcamped MacBook Air

I am trying to record system audio on my MBA under windows. However, there seems to be only Digital Microphone input. On my other windows, I can record input from Stereo Mix. This is for recording System Output like web radios.

  • Disable countdown when Recording Slide Audio in Captivate 5

    Hey guys/gals,
I already recorded all my slides, and am now going back to record the audio for each slide.  For every slide when I try to record audio, it pops up the 3 second countdown.  This is insanely annoying - I have hundreds of slides, so this is wasting a ton of time.  I dont see any options to disable this countdown.
NOTE:  I have already read the discussion (which is incorrect BTW) saying that if you have pre-recorded your slides and add audio afterwards that the countdown wont appear - this is not true... the countdown pops up no matter what you do.
    Any suggestions / work arounds?
    Thanks a ton!

    Hi there
Sorry, but I have no workaround to offer. I'm only posting to encourage you to report this to Adobe as a Feature Request or a Bug (depending on your view)
Link for doing that is in my sig line.

  • Recording System Audio XP Bootcamp

    Hi,
I am wanting to record my system audio on Windows XP SP3 on Bootcamp however all of the methods that have worked on my past Windows PCs have not worked.
I assume then it has something to do with Bootcamp but I can't figure it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

Step one: list what you have: hardware, software, programs etc and devices
Step two: usually, Google a combo of the above
You would have to have pre-2011 Mac to use XP, and I'm of the "XP is 10 yrs old and only Vista SP2 and above is really supported anymore" though.
Why Mac? is at top of the list. You can build a custom PC to fit your needs, rather than try to retro-fit and go the other way. Choose the right tool for the job.  Sometimes a Mac, sometimes linux, people want the classy looks of MacBooks and 95% of the time works as a standard laptop, but it is the 5%. Battery life, heating and cooling, and special uses.
A Mac Pro workstation is closest to a full size tower PC but even there, at least it has multiple drives, add-on cards (PCI Express) but costs more than a basic tower PC.

  • How do i record system audio

    Hello all.
Just trying to find out how to record audio from the iMac 27 inch (Lion). If you know, does the same procedure also apply to a Macbook?

Try Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup.
I'm afraid I can't simulate your issue as I have no iRig Pro, so I would just look around in there and make sure there aren't any issues.
If that doesn't work, try making a new project in GarageBand, click Empty Project, and then the Microphone. Underneath the microphone you just clicked will be input, output, reset setting, etc. You may be able to resolve your problem by playing around with these.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

  • Captivate 7 is not capturing system audio, and the software has a broken link

    The Problem:
Captivate 7 is not capturing system audio. When I start a screen recording, the line with "System Audio" and its checkbox are eternally grayed out. Next to the grayed out words is a link that says, "Why is this disabled?"
    The lnik goes to:  http://www.adobe.com/go/cpaudio
Which is not a valid link, so Adobe's site redirects me to blogs.adoble.com/captivate which is ZERO help. Both browsing and the search bar bring no answers.
    The Device:
Apple Macbook Air, Mid 2013, running OSX 10.9.2.
    What I've done already:
Obvsiously I have set Captivate 7's preferences to capture system audio, and have set System Settings -> Security and Privacy -> Privacy -> Accessibility to allow Captivate to control my computer.
I have also tried clicking the Mic icon, Selecting Source with the System Audio icon and that doesn't record system audio either. It acts like it is recording system audio, but when I stop recording I get a popup that says, "Cannot record system audio. Ensure that you are playing audio on your computer [Okay]"

    It's a wierd one.
One thing to try, and this fixes a lot of things, trash your preferences.

  • Screen Recorder with system audio and mic?

I need a screen recorder that:
    1. Is free
    2. Can Record System Audio and mic at same time
    3. Does not need another app or extension
I know the trick with soundflower and quicktime, but I want something that will do the hard stuff for me.
    Thanks

You don't need any third party apps. Simply follow these instructions: http://tinyurl.com/nhw4tu. The functionality is built in.
You mean "you do not need to pay". The instructions you link to involve a third party application called SoundFlower.
(Disclaimer: I have not used it myself, and I do not know if it is harmless.)

  • Record Video+external audio+system audio

I need to record a movie with:
    - Input from my firewire Camcorder
    - Input from my external audio interface
    - Input from GarageBand output
Till now I just find two ways of doing it:
    1.
    - Record audio in GarageBand and video in Quicktime at the same time
    - Sync both recordings (with Quicktime or ImovieHD)
    2.
    - Open a Quicktime movie recording
    - Start a screen video capture applicaton (with option to record system audio) and select the quicktime window to record
    - Start recording
    - Go to GarageBand and start playing
    - Switch to Quicktime screen and realy start my recording
    - Trim the unwanted initial video recorded.
Unfortnately both workflows are just tricks to do something that is no directly achieved by the applications. In the end it takes double the time to record a movie than it should take.
Is there any way to record with Quicktime a movie and at the same time both internal and external audio?
Is there another application to do it? I have search many applications and it seems that only screencapture apps can record internal sound. I have heard of wirecast but is too expensive (400$).

Although the application seems very interesting how can it help me since it does not record video?
I have no problem in recording audio in GarageBand, the problem is recording in sync audio and video so I don't have later to mix and sync both flows.
Maybe my question is not clear.

  • How? System audio when screen recording

Anyone know how to record system audio when screen recording in Lion? I've been trying to use the Quicktime Player record. I've trying to avoid spending gobs of money on a 3rd party app I'll only use rarely. Any help at all would be great.

    Hi hurdlefaster,
Though the suggestion above is valid, you might not want to
use it ("Resize") as the answer because it can be tricky to use,
    and because it
always results in a much larger file. I think a better way
to accomplish what you want is to create the background image you
want in your image editor, making sure it is sized as you want it,
then make that image the desktop image.
The image you create might have a vertical (height) of 500
pixels, and a horizontal (width) of 740 pixels. Of the horizontal
740 pixel size, you might use 180 pixels on the left for a TOC or
Index area, 20 pixels as a "border" area, and last, a "content"
area of 540 pixels on the far right.
Then place your recording red-rectangle around the whole
image on your desktop, with the application to be captured placed
in the 540 pixel "content" area.
This works ... I've used the concept for years ... and it
doesn't result in a bloated file, as the "Resize" operation most
certainly will. Hope this helps. I'll be happy to give you some
sample images if you contact me privately with a link to this
thread. My email address is catbandit (AT) pcabcs (DOT) com.
    G'day!

  • Adobe Captivate Help | System audio (for subscription and Adobe Software Assurance customers only)

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/using/system-audio.html

I have just a "regular" copy of Captivate CS6 Mac version running OS 10.7.5 bought the box so it isn't a subscription. I'm trying to record a video that has an audio track with it I tried using "record new software simulation" as shown by by Dr. Allen Partridge above. In this video he has an option in his audio preferences that I do not have, namely the check box "system audio". Is this wonderful option ONLY for subscriptions or ASA's? If so WHY? If not what do I need to do in order to record the video WITH the audio?
