Recordset query to display record title hyperlinked
Hi all,
If anybody could please help me i would be most greatful!
I have started builiding a front end website connected to a
mysql database for a very simple business. As a test i created
a simple table in mysql named users, containing atributes on
username, password and accesslevel. I have created a recordset that
displays these records. Currently using filters the records
displayed are only showing username and password.
My problem is that when the records appear, i only want each
records username (primary key) to appear which is hyperlinked! When
the hyperlink is clicked, the particular record clicked will
display the full details of that particular record. (this would
then ultimately display the the record in text boxes to allow
editing of that record)
If anybody could help that would be grand - ive been stuck on
this for quite a while!

You can just make the link something like:
editRecord.php?username=theUsername. Then in the editRecord.php
file load the information from the username displayed in the link.
BTW. I'm asuming you are using PHP

JSP, DataWebBean: How to dynamically set the where clause of query and display record

I have used ViewCurrentRecord web bean to display records from EMP table. I have to use the Dept_Id_FK from the current
record of the EMP table to display corresponding records of Dept table. I have a view object called DeptView in my Business
Components which selects all the records from the Dept table.
How do I get the value of Dept_Id_FK and use it to display the required records of the Dept table?
I tried to declare a variable and get the value of Dept_Id_FK but it did not work. My code is as follows:

As for your question, I think there are several different ways to accomplish what I think you want to do.
1. Create a view object that includes both Emp and Dept entities and join them there. In this case, your query would look something like this:
Select e.empno,e.name,...,d.dname,d.loc from emp e, dept d
where e.deptno = d.deptno
You should be able to create a JSP off of this view object that contains both the employee and department information. In this case, BC4J takes care of the foreign key to primary key coordination.
2. In order to set a dynamic where clause for a view, you need to do the following in your usebean tag:
rsn.initialize(application,session, request,response,out,"DeptView");
rsn.getRowSet().getViewObject().setWhereClause("deptno=" | | m_DeptId);
rsn.getRowSet().getViewObject().executeQuery();
rsn.getRowSet().first();
You will need to do this in a separate usebean tag from the EmpView, since the usebean can only initialize one view object.
In other words, you would have your ViewCurrentRecord bean tag for the EmpView, then a separate one for the DeptView where you use the above code to set the where clause to display just the information for the department you want.
Another option, but one I'm not sure would work as well, is to create a master-detail JSP to do this for you. Usually a master-detail is a one-to-many (one department to many employees). Your request appears to be the reverse, but might still be doable using the same mechanism.
You set up relationships between views in your BC4J project using View Links. If you used the BC4J project wizard and created default views, some of these links may have been created for you. They are created when BC4J detects a foreign key to primary key relationship in the database.
You can create your own View Links using the View Link wizard. Select your BC4J project node and choose Create View Link... from the context menu. You will be asked to select a source view (Emp), and a target view (Dept), then select the attribute in each view that related the two of them (deptno).
Next, you need to reflect this new relationship setting in your application module. Select your app module and choose Edit from the context menu. On the data model page, select the EmpView node in the Selected list. Now select the DeptView node in the available list and shuttle it over. You should see DeptView1 via yourlink appear indented under the EmpView node. Save and rebuild your BC4J project to reflect the changes.
In your JSP project, you can now have the wizard create a master-detail form for you based on DeptView1.

Help to write query to get records from specified time TO specified time?
I have a table which has large data and the table is updated every min,
Suppose the Table comp(timeid date,sessions varchar2,sid varchar2)
Here time needs to be checked
So now i have to write a query which displays records that have been in the table
for every 5 mins
default timeframe is sysdate-5 then the lower and upper bound is multiple of 5 i.e
Suppose now Time and sysdate: 12-sep-2007 1:22:00pm
From sysdate: 12-sep-2007 1:15:01pm TO sysdate: 12-sep-2007 1:20:00pm
So i need a query to get the records from 1:15:01pm to 1:20pm.

Content Query Web Part - Custom ItemStyle.xsl to display image with hyperlink
I don't have access to InfoPath or SharePoint Designer to edit the ItemStyle.xsl. So any solution suggested is preffered to be a manual change to ItemStyle.xsl
I use Content Query Web part (in the main site) to list all the Wikis created in the a sub-site. The idea is to link each wiki to its printable version stored elsewhere.
The wiki has custom column say "Link" that hold hyperlinks to the printable version.
I want to create a column in the content query web part that displays an image (same image for all wikis stored in the site Assets) but on clicking takes me to the printable version page.
I got the image displayed but the hyperlink takes me to the location where the image is stored and not to the printable version page.

Sql Except query to Display mismatched records along with Table names

I am using below query to display mismatch records between two tables
SELECT * FROM table1
EXCEPT
SELECT * FROM table2
UNION
SELECT * FROM table2
EXCEPT
SELECT * FROM table1
This displays mismatched records like below
Sunil 1000 india
Sunil 1500 india
I would like to display even the table names in the result For ex;
Sunil 1000 india Table1
Sunil 1500 india Table2

One change that I would make is to use UNION ALL, not UNION. UNION eliminates duplicate rows, which means SQL has to do additional work (sort the result and then check for duplicates).
So if you can have duplicates and don't want them in your result, then you would use UNION. And if you can have duplicates and you want the duplicates in the result, you would use UNION ALL. But in cases like this, where you know you cannot have
duplicates (because column 1 contains 'TABLE1' for every row in the first half and column 1 contains 'TABLE2' for every row returned from the second half of the query), you should always use UNION ALL. It will be more efficient.

Need Help with RecordSet Query
I need some major help please. Gettin really frustrated here.
From my search page, if I do not fill out any fields and hit
SUBMIT, all records in the recordset are being displayed. Why? I

i have one jsp page called first.jsp which displays records in RowsetBrowser from View Object A.
The attributes are ID,name,Location.
in View Object A i have added a transient attribute to which i have given an expression

i do not want an additional column to show up as link,hence i am not using addTextUrlColumn method.
now on clicking on this id,edit.jsp page is called and the parameter p which is the id is passed to

If I understand your attribute Number1 (and Number 2) is one string value (varchar2 type, long type etc. in Entity) which include in self more different values (other strings or numbers). Right? You can do this if you parse string with an method which analyse that string and give you all the values in an array. Then you can display all the values just like you display other attributes. Off course between the values within attributes value must exist an sign (;, |, ^ etc.) which separate one value from another.
Format is:

I would like to display multiple records on a form. The form is set to display 20 records at a time. When I run the query it does just that except it displays the records one at a time in the space provided for the topmost record. It gives me a frm-41009 error(modal dialog box). How do I get this query to display the records in the spaces provided for it? Also, is there a way to turn off the modal "Acknowledge message" dialog box that comes up everytime a trigger is executed?

I started using a form where the layout displays one record. The query returns more than 1 record (generally 3 to 20 records depending on the user input. When using this form, the results will just show the last record returned rather than letting the user scroll from the first to the last record in the layout of the single row space provided. When I try to use a tabular form and set the forms property to display 20 records for instance, and the query returns say 7 rows, rather than display in 7 of the 20 rows spaces provided by the form, it uses only the topmost row space provided and removes the previous row to display the next. I want to display all of the records simultaneously on one form. I am new to Oracle & Forms and would appreciate any help, hints, direction, etc. Thanks again.

Using index in a query return few records than full table access
Today we have an issue with a query, when it use the ok index the returned are not all records that apply to where clause condition.

I´ve been searching for wrong results bugs on my oracle support, but not found one that mentions something like our issue.
I checked the dba_tables and dba indexes and the number of rows are different, and I think this would be the same because it's is a pk.

Af:query : Delete duplicate records from results manually

I have an ADF page with af:quey on a view object. I have created a viewcriteria to choose few attributes from the view object.
The view object is created manually using a sql query, where the query has joins to various other tables (it has outer joins too).
On submit, due to one to many relationship in the joins, i am getting duplicate rows in the results.
I am currently using 11.1.1.7.0 jDeveloper (We can't upgrade to upper versions due to other constraints of the project). I thought the property 'Selected in Query = false' on the view object attribute would fix this problem (to eliminate duplicate rows). But, i guess, 11.1.1.7.0 don't seem to be supporting this option.
Hence, i was thinking of manually deleting the duplicates from the results of the af:query before displaying it to the user.
Please let me know, if there is a better way to solve the problem, if not, how can i manually remove duplicates from the resultset before displaying the results.
I created a new QueryLIstener method to delete the duplicates, by executing the view object, but it retruns all the records without applying the criteria. May be i am doing something wrong.
Please suggest the best way.

I do have a distinct in my sql but due to 1->M joins i get duplicate rows. I can avoid it only if i can unselect the attributes in the select.
I like to display the attributes to the user to choose the criteria (which adds as a predicate to the sql). But I would like to unselect the 1-M attributes from the results, so i get distinct rows as i have mentioned distinct in the sql.
Is there a way to restrict duplicate rows ?

Hi all,
I've a form for importing excl to oracle with column mapping. i.e I've display excl column heading on the form.
In front of each excel column heading I've provide a list item which contains table column heading so user can map his excl column with table column and according to data gets insert into the database table.
There are 28 excel and table column headings on the form every time user will have to map the column. Its very time consuming job. That's why I've decide to provide template to user. e.g user maps the excl column with table column only first time, then this combination is saved as 'template 1' . when user runs the form next time he/she needs to just select template-1 from lov. and that template get displayed on the forms field. Then user will press the process button and data gets inserted into respective table
Now I've created two tables
1. mst_template
template_name varchar2(100) ---primary key.
2. template
template_name varchar2(100) --- foreign key (ref. tempalte_name - mst_template)

can i achieve it by using cursor? without using master detail relationship. My 90% coding is done. only thing remaining is to display records on form. so can i use cursor in this situation? and how? I've work so hard on it and lot of time is spend too so i don't want to change the coding of the existing form. any suggestion for this problem.
