Recover a specific backup from backup history with dbmcli

hello friends,
how can i recover a specific backup from backup history with dbmcli with inizialization. in dbmcli i can only find methods for medium recovery. with dbmgui i try "instance" in menu, then "Recovery with Initialization", then i try i choose admin_state, then i choose the radiobutton recover from backup history. I get my choice with specific date.
How can I build a script in dbmcli for this scenario. when i am try the command backup_history_open and backup_history_list i cant see the specific backup, what i see in dbmgui.
the backup history item, that i need has a specific system key "492FB68F0002". with which dbmcli command i get this system key for recover.
which command i take for this scenarion db_activate RECOVER?

Do you know the "show console" feature in DBMGUI/DB Studio?
With that you can display all commands used by DBMGUI and the Recovery Wizard.

Ok, but why do you need a recovery for that?
Use SNAPSHOTS instead (read the docu [here|http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_7/44/c4afa67ca22e17e10000000a114a6b/content.htm]!).
Create your base instance.
Create a SNAPSHOT.
Now run your tests.
When you finished your tests, simply restore the SNAPSHOT.
This takes seconds.
Bring the database online again and run some new tests.
When you want your initial instance again - just restore the SNAPSHOT once again.
Really, SNAPSHOTs are made for such a scenario.

Ok. if you still would like to do it this way... how about this:
dbmcli -U c -i refresh_db.txt

db_execute SET LOG AUTO OVERWRITE ON
db_offline
I leave the stopsap/startsap and the rest of the script to you, but I guess you got the idea.
BTW: there's no need to check for restart ability of the database after the recovery since by definition all full data restores are restartable with MaxDB!
So have fun (and go for the SNAPSHOTS instead!).

How do I restore specific items from backup?

My phone had no reception, therefore I went on iTunes and backed it up then restored my iPhone to the factory settings.
The recetion problem got fixed, but when iTunes asked me to restore my backup files on to my iPhone, so I did. then the reception problem came back on again. from here, it's obvious something in my backup files is making this problem happen. I then restored to factory settings again, but this time I set it up as a new device.
now the question is, since the restore from backup function restores everything including the problem, how do I get specific things from the backup files?
and also what exactly is backed up when you choose to backup the iPhone, does it backup things like photos and videos etc.?

What password? Did you encrypt your backup & now can't remember the encrypted backup passcode? If so, no, you won't be able to use that backup. If on a Mac, & you elected to save the passcode to your Keychain, you can recover it from that. Otherwise, you'll have to delete the backup. The data is unrecoverable.
Or, are you talking about the iPhone passcode?

SBS2008 - How to recover single user mailbox from backup?

Is it possible to recover the entire mailbox for a single user from backup? I have a user which deleted a subfolder from the Inbox which contained his most important e-mails for the past year, moved them to Deleted Items and of course delete it from there
too which was removed from the server.
Never done a recovery so I'm kind of pulling my hair on this and I don't want to restore the whole storage group.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Can I restore backup from another mac with time machine?

I'm not sure I know how to help. I use OS X Server's Time Machine services from a Mac Mini to do my back ups to a drive connected to that server. I have the same user account on one MBP Retina that does not do back ups as another MBP Retina that DOES back ups. However, I can't even open the sparse bundle from the one that doesn't do back ups of the one that does (if that makes sense).
You might try and see if this link helps. This guy was the TM guru around here. He might have addressed a solution to what you're trying to do.

How to recover an iphoto book from backup

My wife managed to accidentally delete a 75 page iphoto book she's been working on for months. I have a backup of our iphoto library at an offsite location (read: not a time machine) and am in the process of transferring a copy of it to my local machine. However, since the entire iphoto library is 80+ gb, I would prefer to only recover this book if at all possible. I've done some digging through the iphoto library and have found the book in the /iPhoto Library/Metadata Backup/Albums/Album.18008.ipmeta. I have recovered this file from my backup and placed it back into this folder on my local computer, but unfortunately this hasn't restored the book in iphoto itself. I'm assuming there are other pointers hidden throughout the database that also will need to be restored to make this book show up again in iphoto. Has anyone dealt with this problem before and managed to recover a deleted book without restoring the entire iphoto library?

You must recover the entire iPhoto library. Books are not a seperate item but are database entries
And it is critical that you do not muck around inside the iPhoto library. There are no user serviceable parts in it and if you make and changes you may corrupt it and cause data loss

Recovering associated library files from backup.

iTunes recently became corrupted and required that I reinstall on my PC. With no choice I followed the reinstall procedure but no big surprise, all of my playlists, track info and any changes I made to the library manually were missing. I have backed up entire iTunes library recently and would like to know what file(s) I need to pull from my backup disk to restore my previous playlists, etc.

You would need the iTunes Library.itl file, or the iTunes Music Library.xml file which might allow you to reconstruct the library.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can please help.
Problem as follows:
Backed up/synced both my wifes and my iphone 4 to the same itunes account on Macbook. Wifes phone gets stolen, so get myself new iphone 5 and new Macbook. Managed to set up and get my data onto new phone without any problems, so all sorted.
I now want to pass on my old iphone 4 to my wife, but I cant restore the back up from her stolen phone on the old Macbook as itunes seems to only recognize and associates this phone with its last back up containing my data. Is there anyway that I can restore from the stolen phones backed up data? I have tried restoring the phone to factory settings, but then I still only get the option to restore from that phones original back up.

Yes it is possible. Just log in on both phones using the same iTunes account info.
As far as synching goes, iTunes remembers the info you want synch'ed on each phone separately.
If you download an app on one phone and pay for it, it will be free to download on the 2nd phone as long as you use the same iTunes login

I deleted a specific website from the "History" and used "forget this site" but it still shows up when I type the first letter of the site. How do I delete it?

I am not computer savvy. I don't want to clear all my history, just one specific site. I deleted it, its cookies, passwords and everything and when I type the first letter of the website in, it shows up as one of the options for websites. I need to delete it, but how?

It's possible the website is in your bookmarks and when you type in some letters in the Location Bar that match that bookmark, it is coming up from there. According to your description, my understanding is that you want to get a specific list item form a list which with more than 100000 items using C#.
I suggest you can use CAML Query with some condition and set Row Limit to specify the number of items to return.

You need to create a custom xml which can be used with capture (scanstate.exe) and restore (loadstate.exe) of any specific data you want. This xml file needs to be modified to create rules for files to be captures, example:

I use VMWare Fusion and have an issue with the "Open With" context menu for documents that I can open with VMWare. Several images that have been deleted continue to show up in the context menu. How can I remove them?
I tried renaming the com.launcher.plist solution described in the "how to" section, but to no avail...

I have an iPod touch 3rd gen 32 gb. I backed it and recovered it, then restored from backup, however, now it is stuck between the lock screen and a loading circle. Is there a way to fix this without recovering it and not restoring it?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
