Rectangles not spanning in different browsers

We made a landing page inside of muse and it looks great in firefox however in safari and chrome, the two rectangle boxes we made are not spanning.
The site is:  marquee01.businesscatalyst.com
The issue is the black rectangle across the top of the page and the gray rectangle across the middle of the page.  Any ideas on something we are doing wrong?
Also, will there be responsive capabilities in the future?  Or is there a workaround that would resolve this issue all together?

We have the black rectangle at the top going across and then the gray rectangle going across the body.  Those are the only rectangles on the page and we do not have them grouped at all.  The widths are fully streched and touch the edges so that the red line appears when dragging them across.  We tried using the image-tile feature and still did not work.  We then put the rectangles in the master page and the rest of the page content in a design page, not within the master page.  That seemed to help on desktop browsers, however on iPhone in Safari as well as on an iPad they are still not spanning across.  I have not had a chance to test on Safari in desktop yet but would assume it is doing the same thing.  This shouldn't be an issue with mobile as those rectangles should still span across regardless if it is mobile or desktop.

  • Flash website problem / jpg in xml does not show in different browsers

    Hello Everyone,
    I am working on a flash website which is almost finished.
    My problem is that I created dynamic loading content, so the contents in the flash ( Most of them) loads from .xml files. This xml contains text and jpg.
    when i test the movie and final html it works perfectly and xml loads with all its contents in any browser.
    but when I upload the website through FTP, the xml shows very strange ! . In IE only half of the jpgs loads and some content repeat itself, while in firefox none of the jpg loads.
    The only images I can see are the one that I have directly put on the flash pages.
    Does anyone knows a solution? I am desperatly trying to figure this out!!
    I appriciate your answers.

    I could figure the problem just right now. so Easy!!
    I just changed the slash es in xml . So if  the original one was : "thumbnail\my.jpg "  I chanegd the slash forward "thumbnail/my.jpg". I also put the xml file, my images and swf. file in the same folder.
    I tried it and it worked in firefox, google chrome and IE.
    Hope it helped!!

  • Issue with images in different browsers

    Having an issue with different browsers -- hoped someone
    could help.
    If I open my site with IE, everything looks as it does in
    Dreamweaver -- there is no overlap of text and images/etc.
    If I open my site with Mozilla or Safari, it seems to
    arbitrarily move up some of the images over the top of text. Not
    all of the images, mind you -- just a few random ones throughout
    the page.
    Opening the following link in both type of browsers may give
    you a clue as to what is going on. What can I do to get it to look
    like it does in IE?

    I have absolutely no idea why this is. I havent been able to
    test this in internet explorer, but i'm guessing it will show the
    same error. My question then is, why is it that the code below
    works for one browser and not for another?

    Font Rendering
    Every browser and operating system and browser and operating sytem version (just about) renders text differently. Chrome on Windows is currently the worst at rendering text, since it's using an old Windows API which uses an outdated anti-aliasing algorithm for the text. So text in Chrome on Windows generally looks worse that text drawn in other browser or on other operating systems. Typekit has a 7 part blog post here <http://blog.typekit.com/2010/10/05/type-rendering-on-the-web/> about all the ins and outs of font display in different browsers and operating systems.
    Scroll Effects
    Scroll effects are measured from the top of the browser window. Thus when the height of the browser window differs, even on the same computer, where the top of the browser window is relative to your objects when the page is scrolled all the way to the bottom will differ. Without the URL for your site/page, this is only a guess, but I suspect this is what you're encountering.
    Several customers have asked for an option to set the key position as a distance from the bottom of the browser window rather than always being from the top in order to create items that have a specific final location when a page is scrolled all the way to the bottom, but Muse doesn't currently have that feature.

  • Text in tables shifting in different browsers...

    I have set up a page using tables.
    In the middle of the page are 4 images pulled in and lined up
    horizontally separated by table cells (for some space).
    The tables immediately underneath the photos are for adding
    text.
    I center aligned the text and am controlling only the font
    style (no colors, sizes, etc) from a separate external CSS file.
    The first line of text is "paragraph" format, the second line
    of text is bigger/different color and in "heading 1" format, the
    third chunk of text is "paragraph" format also (it's an actual
    paragraph).
    When I view this page in the 4 main web browsers, this text
    shifts up and down. In other words, all 4 photos underneath
    descriptions are not aligned nicely horizontally. The tables are
    perfectly aligned, so why is the text moving vertically inside when
    previewed?
    Here's a link to my site:
    http://student.ccbcmd.edu/~rsmit459/playingthedrums/index.html
    View it in different browsers and watch the copy under the
    photos shift vertically (not lined up across the page).

  • CFLOGIN works, but not simultaneously on different servers/broswers

    I'm using CFLOGIN with application.cfc which works great when I test it - I'll call it login session A in browser window 1.
    When I simultaneously log into the same app on a different server with a different username (login session B in browser window 2), I can't login - unless I log out out of session A/browser window 1 first. Something in my new code is preventing me from logging into my app more than one time, even when the apps are on separate servers and I'm using different usernames.
    We have the same app on various servers (test/development/production), and I used to be able to login on 2-3 browsers or servers at a time - and I never had a problem until recently when I made some changes to the application.cfc and login code.
    I updated the code because before the session scopes and login credentials were not being initiated and terminated together (upon login/logout). Before, a user was clicking 'logout' and it was clearing the session scopes without invoking CFLOGOUT. Now, I fixed that, but I have another problem, which is that I can't log into the application on two different browsers or servers at the same time (even if I'm using different login usernames). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Oh no, that was my mistake. Thank you for catching that! That query is currently not being used on my Application.cfc page, which is why I wasn't having problems with it, but I'm glad you pointed it out to me. I had that code in my Application.cfc file just incase I wanted to check login from somewhere else, but my login query is actually being called with Flash Remoting using setCredentials() to connect to login.cfc. This is the correct query in my login.cfc file:
                <cfquery name="qValidateLogin" username="#session.uname#" password="#session.pword#" datasource="#session.dbase#">
                    select role from session_roles where role like 'xxxxx%'
                </cfquery>
    I do think I figured out a solution to my problem though. I found out how to use applicationToken, which I understand if it is not set, by default will be the value of application.Name. If you want users to be able to log into multiple instances of  your application at the same time, you would give the applicationToken the same value. This would be great for clustered servers or sites with sub-domains.
    If you wanted to force only one login for the three different sites, you could give this a different value. VERY useful. So I have:
    <cfcomponent displayname="Application" output="false">
        <cfset this.name = 'SampleApp'>
        <cfset this.SessionManagement = true>
        <cfset this.SetClientCookies = true>
        <cfset this.SessionTimeout = CreateTimeSpan( 0, 0, 5, 0 ) />
        <cfset this.loginStorgage = "session">
        <cfset this.applicationtoken = 'SampleAppSub'>
    Now, I can log into this site on my development machine with multiple browsers pointing to the same site hosted on different servers - with no problem. I never had an issue with this before, but something else I recently added into my code in Application.cfc made this not work. I should probably also mention that I work on many different applications that all use the same application.Name even though they are different sites - we do this so the same settings can be deployed on different servers.
    With the applicationToken settings, I have it working again. Perhaps what made it break was setting this.loginStorage = "session"? Before this was not set and was using the default value of  "cookies" which I didn't want - because my site is used by different people on the same box and we have clustered servers.

  • Navbar problems in different browsers

    Please help! I designed a navbar using a preformatted Dreamweaver template, but found that it displays differently in different browsers. The file can be found at
    http://www.npc.org/NPC909/links.html
    It displays fine in Opera and Safari (both Mac), but in Netscape and Firefox (both Mac) the navbar is bumped onto a second line. In IE (Mac) the navbar is on one line, but the dropdown submenus do not display.
    On the PC side, in IE 8 the navbar is vertically stacked while the two submenus display on the far left of the navbar, instead of directly below their parent links. In IE 7 the submenus don't line up with their parent links, and there is a thin black line on the right of the navbar. Again, Safari displays just fine.
    Our target audience is most likely to be a PC user with IE as their browser, but any suggestions you can provide to make the navbar and submenus display consistently across all browsers would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Trouble seeing my website in different browsers

    How can I set my iWeb site looks right in different browsers? I can't find a great solution for that. I prefer the "liquid" or "fluid" layout. If it is possible. Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Paste the URL of your site into this site Browsershots and select the browsers that you'd like to see how the render the site. They are static views of how the site will be rendered but will give you a good idea. Don't know what you mean by liquid/fluid. Does that mean not-static?

  • HTML Snippets move around in different browsers

    I added an HTML Snippet (Skype button) and a Google map to a web site designed with iWeb. Both of these items move up or down in different browsers (Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer). Is there any way to lock the position of these widgets, so they don't move? The page with these problems can be found at: http://www.follow-your-nose.com/fyn/Contact.html

    I have the same trouble, the strange thing is that out of 3 pages it works fine on 1, on the other 2 pages the HTML snippet moves up or down depending on the browser type.
    So why does it work on this 1 page ?
    Another problem I have is that links to recommend another site sometimes format themselves. I make them White Pink Grey, so in iWeb they work fine, but when published some of them suddenly being back to the original colors.
    Another problem I have is that some Amazon Ads do not work in the HTML snippets, why the **** is that ?
    iWeb *****, all that work for this not satisfying result.
    thanks for any help you might give me....
    the main concerned site is www.hongkong-experience.net you can see the problems on the what to do page, here the snippet moves as well as on the same page in german, it the french version it doesnt ??

    and here the links color themselves http://www.hongkong-experience.net/Bienvenuesur_notre_Guide_de_Voyage_de_HongKong.html
    thanks again for any feedback which might help me.

    Unable to view external webcam content.  I'm using IE11 with Windows 7 64 bit.  I've tried deactivating Activex control, tried different browsers etc, tweeked the tools for trusted sites etc, but am totally stuck. I know the cams are working as i can view them on mobile phone via puffin browser.  I can play Youtube videos etc just fine. So why not the webcam?

    First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
    Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
    You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
    If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

  • Why isn't yahoo mail sign in page not loading from any browsers on desktop?

    I am experiencing this problem from yesterday where the page stops loading when I click on yahoo mail. It stops right at the sign in page with a blank page, thus I am unable to access yahoo mail. I have tried different browsers and even different users, after clearing cache, cookies and internet history. I did notice I am able to access yahoo mail without any trouble from a different pc altogether and from a mobile device. I assumed the problem would be fixed overnight but it's still not working. I have never experienced this problem before. Please help. Thank you.

    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
    * Clear the Cache
    Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    and
    * Remove Cookies
    '''''Warning ! ! '' This will log you out of all sites you're logged in to.'''
    Press the '''Alt''' or '''F10''' key to bring up the tool bar.
    Followed by;
    Windows; '''Tools > Options'''
    Linux; '''Edit > Preferences'''
    Mac; ''application name'' '''> Preferences'''
    Then '''Privacy.'''
    Under '''History''', select Firefox will '''Use Custom Settings'''.
    There is a button on the right side called '''Show Cookies'''.
    If there is still a problem,
    '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode]''' {web link}
    While you are in safe mode;
    Press the '''Alt''' or '''F10''' key to bring up the tool bar.
    Followed by;
    Windows; '''Tools > Options'''
    Linux; '''Edit > Preferences'''
    Mac; ''application name'' '''> Preferences'''
    Then '''Advanced > General.'''
    Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.
    Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
    Then restart.

  • Download of firmware fails in three different browsers and wget

    I ordered a tv, hasn't got here yet, but I wanted to download the newest firmware for it, http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/SL410U_Ver107_FW.zip , it starts and then fails or slows down and fails every time, in a few different browsers. I'm running debian linux and using firefox/iceweasel, opera, chrome and wget. Can't download with any of them.
     Emailing it to the email I signed up with would be outstanding, if that's an option, perhaps the website is just undergoing maintenence and downloads will work fine later.

    Waterfox is not an official Mozilla build of Firefox, so you can't expect everything to work right with it.
    The plugin check page is manually updated to include new versions, so it's possible that a version of a plugin has been released but the plugin check page hasn't been updated to reflect that.

  • RSS Not Working in All Browsers Except Safari?

    I've recently used iWeb to make a website (not .mac) and has been completely Validated at w3, and passed with no errors in the coding.. except when we go to use the RSS Feed Button in Firefox for Mac, Firefor for PC, Internet Explorer for PC.. the page comes up with errors - and displays a message saying: "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below." and simply displays the Coding. So i checked the RSS page at w3 Validator and it failed because of an Error on line 42. The line 42 is this:
    <description><a href="http://users.bigpond.net.au/bjsp1/lacc/News/F4CBD4AA-E949-44E0-A31C-61159 9D79BD8files/DSCF1400%20copy1.jpg"><img src="http://users.bigpond.net.au/bjsp1/lacc/News/Images/DSCF1400%20copy.jpg" style="float:left; padding-right:10px; padding-bottom:10px; width:130px; height:130px;"/></a>Hello Everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates - we’ve had some technical difficulties - but were back with a new design and some more user-friendly pages. <br>
    So far the only error i can see is the &lt/a&gt etc.. errors, but it could have been an error caused by a change of programs (to get the actual line i opened the file in Microsoft Frontpage) Any ideas of why it is not working in any browsers, and how to fix it?
    Thanks!

    Yes, I'm puzzled by the whole RSS thing as well.
    Clicking on RSS subscribe from my website in Firefox
    gives me the same error. But if I click on the RSS
    icon in the address bar of Firefox, it seems to keep
    track of my site updates just fine.
    That's right. I forgot that FireFox has its Live Bookmarks feature which is basically the same as an RSS reader. While the subscribe button doesn't do anything, FireFox scans a page being viewed for any RSS feeds and lets you select them via other means. RSS is just a different protocol than http and different browers handle it different ways (or not at all).

  • HELP! Please :) my website looks different in different browsers. Link boxes are showing in IE!!

    Please help me!  I'm pretty new to web design.  Built this website from scratch - designed in photoshop and put together in dreamweaver.  I launched the site and it looks great in safari, but had a friend look at it with explorer and the blue link boxes (the one that lets you know you have something linked in dreamweaver) are showing up on the interent explorer browser and I can only assume there are issues in other browsers as well.  Please help if you can.  Here is a link to my website:   www.shandryntrumble.com  Thanks

    Thanks for your help!Should I create an external style sheet?  I'm still unsure of where and what to put in the document.  Where are the CSS  tags?  And what exactly do I place in them?  Sorry, I'm so new to this.  Thanks for your patience.

    Bad information.  You don't need a class for this.  Simply add the following CSS code to your style sheet.  An external style sheet is preferred but it if you don't have one yet, add this code to the CSS inside the  tags of your HTML document. /*remove borders from all linked images*/a img    Nancy O.
