Red eye returns in iMovie app

I have iOS 5 updated on my iPhone and I have the iMovie app purchased on my iPhone.  I used the new red eye and enhancement features for pictures on my iPhone that came in the iOS 5 update - works great.  The problem is when I upload those "corrected" pics to an iMovie project, I can see in the folder that the picture still has the red eye correction but once uploaded into iMovie it is the original picture with the red eye.
What is going on?

This appears to be an error in the app.
I suggest you tell Apple:

  • How do i delete a photo that is stuck in red eye reduction of the photos app?

I have a photo in the Photos App that is stuck in the Edit Feature. I had accidentally pushed the Red-Eye reduction and it cannot detect any red-eyes.

  • Red-eye not working right

I have a friend who's Macbook is acting a bit weird. In iPhoto 08 if you try to edit the red eye, after a few photos it'll starting doing one eye okay (the left) but then completely miss the other one, putting a black splotch above the eye or to the side of the eye. It's not because of aiming incorrectly.
Also although this isn't the right place to post, iMovie 06 won't let her edit the audio in timeline view. The little markers that enable you to drag the volume down aren't there when you click, for some reason. Not major things but little bugs...
All the latest updates have been installed and I've also done things like deleting the plist and even done an Archive Install for her but iPhoto red eye still doesn't work right. Haven't checked iMovie 06 yet but maybe will tomorrow.

Have you run the latest updates for the iLife 08 apps? If so reinstall iPhoto and update the the lastest, 7.1, followed by a repair of disk permissions.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Razr: Eternal red eye! Tried everything and still nothing!

Moto droid razr, over a year with it now. Ran out of battery yesterday and when try to turn it on (after some minutes plugged in) the dreadful red eye came out.
I did a soft reset and ended up in the red eye again.
I wiped the cache partition and rebooted it, red eye again.
I did a factory reset and rebooted it, red eye again.
Battery ran out again, charged it, turn it on, and you can guess what happened
Anyone has any ideas of what can I do next?
Appreciate your time, thank you in advance.
For reference I followed the instructions provided on this page by user hydrogenous (  http://www.razrforums.com/forum/droid-razr-maxx/3253-phone-stuck-load-up-screen.html). Below is a copy of sucj instructions if you don't want click on the link
Issue: Your Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is stuck on the "droid eye" screen during boot. You haven't rooted your phone or anything.
Solution: Remove your SD Card and reboot the phone by holding the power button. It's still stuck on the screen, right?
Hold down the POWER, VOLUME UP, and VOLUME DOWN buttons until the screen goes blank.
Once the screen turns off, hold down the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons once again.
You should now see a diagnostic screen with several options. Read the first few lines. Use the VOLUME DOWN button to highlight "recovery", and use the VOLUME UP button to select this option.
Now you should see the "Droid Triage Screen". It's a dead android with a triangle. The exclamation ("!") symbol is inside the triangle. Am I being detailed enough?
Press and HOLD the VOLUME DOWN button. WHILE you are holding this button down, press and RELEASE the VOLUME UP button. Now release the VOLUME DOWN button that you were holding for the duration of this step.
A new screen will come up. Use the VOLUME DOWN button to select "WIPE CACHE PARTITION", and use the POWER button to select that option.
The phone should complete the operation and return you to the triage diagnostic mode. Now you want to select "FACTORY RESTORE/RESET". I don't think that's exactly what it's called, but I do know that Factory is in the name. Seriously, I've had too much scotch and my short-term memory is a bit fuzzy. I'm also watching Archer. Hilarious. This process is going to wipe all of your data. That's why you should have downloaded a backup app, but screw it-- your phone is bricked anyways.
Let this option run for a few moments. For me, I had to wait about 2 minutes. During this process I saw absolutely no load bar or status until my phone's "low battery" warning honked at me. I pressed "Okay", and then I saw a "Processing" screen. I think you're going to have to be patient. Maybe your "processing" bar will show up right away. I don't know.

    FIXED
I had this issue previously and after a few soft resets and some patience it finally came back on.
Today, I wasn't so lucky...  3 hours of soft resets and waiting with no change in response.
I ended up removing both my SD and SIM card (better safe?), and rebooting to the "Triage Screen."  I cleared the cache ONLY and rebooted the phone.  It took a while, but finally came back to life!  I then installed both the SIM and SD cards and all is well (for now.)
This is a non-rooted first-gen MAXX, and I've had SOOOOOOOO MANY problems with it.  I've had an SD card become unformatted, many many missed calls due to general unresponsiveness, and intermittent battery charging/restarting issues.  After the SD card was blanked I did a factory restore (about 2 weeks ago) and it's been better, but still not like it was when it was new.
Result: My phone is currently up and running after the cache wipe, but I'll be switching to Samsung in 2 weeks when my contract is up.

  • Can I remove red eye in Final Cut Pro X?

I've imported over a thousand pictures from iPhoto of my trip to California, and was wondering if I could remove red eye from photos without having to go back to iPhoto, fix the red eye, then reimport.

    matthew97 wrote:
OK, I thought he was saying that since consumer apps already do it, a professional app has to have the feature. Anyways, I guess I'll just have to reimport it.
Many of the Pro users are (rightly IMO) very ticked off with FCP X as it no longer supports many important Pro features that they use daily and is currently unsuitable for use by many for commercial/professional work.
(For hobbyists/amateurs, myself included, it will probably do very nicely as a step up from basic video editors available on the Mac and at a fraction of the price of the old suite which I couldn't justify buying).

  • Photo stuck on edit requesting red eye but there are no eyes in photo and cannot move away or go back

Photo stuck on one photo cannot move on or back . Initiated through edit with red eye option selected - in error as there are no eyes visible how do I cancel this?

Close the photos app in the recents tray and then reboot the iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the Photos icon. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Where is the red eye correction tool now?

Can't find it anywhere.  Why did they remove it? (iphone 6)

Can't find it anywhere.  Why did they remove it? (iphone 6)
In the Photos.app.  When you select a photo and click "edit", there is an eye icon at the upper border of the panel. That is the "red eye" correction tool.

  • Red eye correction generating strange grid pattern in viewer

    Hi everyone,
For the last week Aperture 3.5.1 has been adding a strange grid with a repeating pattern in my images when I edit them in the viewer.  Here is a screenshot:
The strange pattern is near the top right and appears to be of my son's eye. The pattern appears in multiple images and always seems to be one of the eyes of the subject! It occurs when I use the red eye correction.
If I toggle off certain adjustments, not just the red-eye adjustment, the pattern goes away. However, once I turn on certain adjustments the pattern returns or moves to another part of the screen! If I do turn off red eye correction the grid goes away.
    So let me summarize here:
If I use red eye correction and I use ANY other adjustments then I will get the strange eye grid.
It appears if I don't use the red eye correction the eye grid does not appear.
I have tried repairing permissions, repairing the library, rebuilding the database, and reinstalling Aperture. I've also tried moving the library to another mac and I can replicate the issue on that mac as well, however, not as often? I also downloaded memtest and ran it on my mac and it said all my ram is fine. I have also tried shortening my library and I can duplicate the issue in a small library with few pictures.
I'd really like to use the red eye correction without the strange grid! When I export the images the grid does not appear.
I am using a Mac Pro mid 2010 with 14 gig of memory. The second machine I tried is a macbook pro laptop using 8 gig. I'm really at a loss here. Please help! Thanks again

Sounds like you have done everything but delete your user preferences.  This often resolves UI issues.
Details are on Apple's Aperture trouble-shooting page.
You might also flush your NVRAM.

  • How can I edit pictures (red eye) and camera-made videos (orientation)?

How can I edit pictures (red eye) and camera-made videos (orientation)? The pictures are now in my documents, taken from another laptop. Apple has automatically orientated photos, but not the videos. I've looked at past messages on red eye, but cannot even highlight an area, as suggested in the answers. Need I put the pictures etc in another folder in order to edit?

Use iphoto for the photos and iMovie for the video.

  • Stuck in Red Eye Removal

Ok so I just got my Iphone4 last night and while a friend was looking at it. He went into the red eye removal function (on a photo of hands so there isn't any eyes). I've tried and tried but can't seem to get out of this function. It just keeps saying "tap each red eye. tap again to undo." and "did not find a red eye to correct."
Can someone please help this newbie!?!?!?

Force close the ‘Photos’ app and reopen it to see whether it resolves the issue. For that, first double tap the ‘Home’ button and wait until the task bar become visible on the screen. You can view all the recently opened apps on that bar. Locate the ‘Photos’ app by swiping the bar and holding down the app icon till it starts to wiggle. Then, tap over the minus sign appears on the left corner of the icon to close it. If this solution doesn’t work, reboot the iPad by making use of Sleep/Wake button. Press and hold that button until the iPad screen displays a red slider. Then, move the slider to turn off your iPad. Hold down that button again afterwards until you can view a sliver Apple Logo on the screen.

  • RED EYE on the camera--

Ok people i have been using this z10 baby for almost a month and there r no short cuts here everything almost has a looooong cut so if ur ok with that its a good phone...... I am pretty happy with mine...... battery run time is very good...
But still two points...... THE CAMERA SUCKS.... FOR A PHONE OF SUCH REPUTE THE CAMERA 8MP HAS A RED EYE PROBLEM...... IN LOW LIGHT IF U USE A FLASH THE PEOPLE IN THE PICS WILL LOOK LIKE FOXES OR WOLVES WITH RED EYES...... SUCKS..... TRIED EVERYTHING........ IS THERE A SOLUTION..... ??????
Point no. 2..... IT HAS A 16GB INTERNAL MEMORY BUT STILL IF I UNSERT A MEDIA SD CARD..... IT STARTS GIVING PREFERENCE TO THE CARD AND ANYTHING THAT U DOWNLOAD AS IN MUSIC OR VIDEOS.... IT JUST GOES STRAIGHT TO THE MEDIA CARD........ ANY WAY TO CHANGE THAT.....
Point no. 3..... THERE IS NO OPTION TO SHIFT THINGS FROM THE CARD TO THE PHONE MEMORY UNLESS U PLUG IT INTO UR LAPTOP...... AND EVEN AFTER THAT ITS AMAZINGLY COMPLICATED...... KINDLY THROW SOME LIGHT IN THESE POINTS....
    CHEERS....
    JIGS

Point 1: The default photo editor from the camera app has a red eye removal tool, but I'm not sure how effective it is as it's not something I experience too often thankfully...
Point 2: I'm not sure of a way of changing the default storage directory (Sorry), but some apps may have settings that allow you to change this on an individual basis (The Camera app for example allows you to choose whether to save to media card or phone)
Point 3: There is an app on the device called File Manager. You can use this to cut/copy and paste files and downloads from the device to the media card and vice versa.
    Hope this helps.

  • Phone gets to red eye and reboots

I am having a huge problem with my Droid X right now.  My phone rebooted and everytime it gets to the red eye it reboots over again and won't get past that point.  I held down the power and home button and tried wiping my cache and even wiping my data but still the problem persists.  Anyone that can help or has any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Sounds like you may have installed or changed a setting that has put you in a bootloop on startup, this happens from time to time if you run into a incompatible software....  This usually works to resolve this but it will restore the device to stock settings.
Try Safe Mode first and see if you can boot, if so then you can try to uninstall all recent installed apps from Settings . Applications . Manage Application..
Boot your Verizon Motorola Droid X in Safe Mode. This will allow you to access the device with the original software  and settings if something is preventing the device from starting.
    1. Power the Droid X off.
    2. Press and hold the Menu button on the lower-left side of the screen.
    3. Keep holding the Menu button while the device starts until you see the Home screen load. It should say Safe Mode in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
To take the Droid X out of Safe Mode, simply power   the device off, then back on.
If this doesnt work then a hard reset is the best solution...
    Power Device Off First.....
    1. Hold Home Button and press power
    2. Screen will show a Android with a triangle with astrick
    3. Let Go of Home Button and Power
    4. Press Search Button (Far Left Button)
    5. A blue menu will show at top of page, scroll to Format Device
    6. Select Yes to verify
    7. Allow format to complete (Information at bottom of page will go through a few steps)
    8. Once Format is complete Blue Menu will show at top again, select Reboot
Note: Use volume up and down to select opinion and use camera button as Enter,,,
