Redirect MD forms

If we insert master-details based (of course) on a master-detail form we want to show the user the just inserted values in the same master-detail. Of course the form must be in update mode. How do we redirect a master-detail form from insert to update and showing the correct values based on the primairy key of the master table??

Hi,
pname is the name of the session variable of a column like 'A_DEPTNO' for deptno column.
Thanks,
Sharmila

    How do I redirect the form to my email when I submit?

    Hi,
      You could use the "Email Receipts" or Email Notification" features in Options tab.
    Please check these out and see if this is what you are looking form.
    http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2664
    You will need to add a email field to your form requesting the form-submitter to enter his/her email so that after the form-submit an email is sent to him/her.
    If this is not what you are referring, please provide more detail and write back

  • Master Detail Wizard: Cannot Redirect Detail Form to Detail Form 2

    Dear all,
    I created a Master Detail Report Forms using wizard where Master Report has a link to its Detail1 form, which has a link to its Detail2. However, the page redirection didn't work from Detail1 to Detail2 whereas Master to Detail1 worked.
    I checked the region button in Detail 1 that did the redirection, I didn't find anything wrong (I think).
    Suppose Detail1 is page 210 and Detail2 is page 220, The following is my configuration:
    - Under "Action When Button Clicked" tab:
    1. Action is set to "Redirect to Page in this Application"
    2. Page is set to 220
    3. Request is left blank
    4. Clear Cache is set to 220
    5. Set These Items is set to
    P220_TICKET_ID6. With These Values is set to
    &P210_TICKET_ID.7 Database action is set to
    - No Database Action -Is there any other place that I should check that might effect the redirection? Please advice.
    I'm using Apex 4.0.2
    Best regards,
    Val

    The answer to this problem appears to be that there is a bug in HTMLDB 2.0 (at least thats what I'm thinking) in that it is not handling dates correctly when passing them to the detail form. Once I modified the date column in the detail form, and formatted it with TO_DATE, it all worked fine. I would think the wizzard would do this. Oh well...

  • Redirecting A Form Back To HomePage After Submission

    Hello, I am trying to custom edit a form to redirect the user to my site's home page, instead of having them land back on the list, after submitting the form. How would I accomplish this? I know the URL that I need to redirect to, but I am unsure
    of what to edit or where to find the option to do this in the SharePoint Designer menus. Thanks.

    Your effort didn't work because you tried to combine cf and js code.  Just use one.  I'd go with js myself.

  • Using javascript to redirect a form in portal to a report

    Hi. I am trying to call a report or a dynamic page from a form I created. When I select the query button I want it to show the report or dynamic page based on the parameters I passed in the URL. I have the following javascript functions that get the parameters from the comboboxes.
    Additional PL/SQL Code... before displaying the page.
    htp.p('<script language="JavaScript">');
    htp.p('function getItemInst(form,targetInst)');
    htp.p('{var objname;');
    htp.p(' var selectedInst;');
    htp.p(' for(var j =0; j < form.length; j++)');
    htp.p(' { objname = form.elements[j].name.split(".");');
    htp.p(' if(objname[2] == targetInst)');
    htp.p(' { selectedInst = form.elements[j].value;');
    htp.p(' return selectedInst;');
    htp.p(' }');
    htp.p(' }');
    htp.p('}');
    htp.p('function getItemCip(form,targetCip)');
    htp.p('{ ');
    htp.p(' var objname;');
    htp.p(' var selectedCip;');
    htp.p(' for(var j =0; j < form.length; j++)');
    htp.p(' {objname = form.elements[j].name.split(".");');
    htp.p(' if(objname[2] == targetCip)');
    htp.p(' { selectedCip = form.elements[j].value;');
    htp.p(' return selectedCip;');
    htp.p(' }');
    htp.p(' }');
    htp.p('}');
    htp.p('</script>');
    When I click the query button it uses this code:
    using a query button->onclick javascript event handler
    var v_inst = getItemInst(this.form, "INST");
    var v_cip_course = getItemCip(this.form, "CIP_COURSE");
    var exec_url = "http://"+window.location.hostname + "/pls/portal/MAJOR_APP.PROGRAMOFSTUDYSEARCHRESULTS.show?p_arg_names=p_cip_course&p_arg_values="+v_cip_course+
    "&p_arg_names=p_inst&p_arg_values="+v_inst;
    window.location.href=exec_url;
    My problem is that it doesn't use the new url I created and go to the report. It just refreshes the form page I created. I am I missing a step or something?
    Thanks ;)

    Maybe you could try it like this... I saw this question answered not too long ago.

  • Looking For A Good Tutorial That Shows How To Redirect A Form Page.

    Hi,
    Attached is a mock up of the Home Recipes Page on the site I'm building. When a user clicks on one of the categories (Desserts, Drinks, etc), I want them to be able to go to the Main Page for that category, on which will appear the recipes that have already been posted by them or someone else. Also on the Main Page, I want them to be able to click on a button that takes them to a page on which they can enter a recipe. There are four fields on the "Enter Page;" Recipe Title, Ingredients, Preparation, Serves How Many.
    Does anyone know of a good tutorial that would help me accomplish what I'm trying to do, and/or answer some of the questions I have?
    1. For the page on which they use to post a recipe (in the process of building this one), is that named something like enterDesserts?
    2. For the page on which the already posted recipes appear, do I name it something like postedDesserts?
         2.a. I know I'll have to create a container div on the "posted" page for each of the four fields on the "enter" page, but how do I direct the
         information that's entered into the proper div?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
    the "linking between the various Main Pages" is ok in my view.
    Here
    <td><a href="RecipesDesserts.php">Desserts</a></td>
    <td><a href="RecipesDrinks.php">Drinks</a></td>
    <td><a href="RecipesFowl.php">Fowl</a></td>
    you use the same key-words in your headline. In order to a precise distinction you should refer to "Recipes for Desserts" like this:
    <td><a href="RecipesDesserts.php">Recipes for Desserts</a></td>
    <td><a href="RecipesDrinks.php">Recipes for Drinks</a></td>
    <td><a href="RecipesFowl.php">Recipes for Fowl</a></td>
    ok?

    i created a site page and assigned a created by user view to a webpart on this page
    here i need when this list opens in edit mode , when i click close button this form shuld be redirect to site page
    now its rediricting to list>all items
    all items is default view for this list
    adil

    Hi adil,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you wanted the redirect to another page once InfoPath form had been closed.
    You can add a Content Edit web part above the InfoPath form web part with the following code:
    $(document).ready(function(){
    if($('#DialogFinalMessage').children().length>0)
    window.location.href = "<Desired destination page URL>";

  • How to use one form to update two tables

    How can I do that? HTMLDB wizard or form on table doesn't give me an option to use more than one table in a form or I don't know about it. I created new process which redirects the form to another page after submitting the form. On the second page I created new process which uses the same variables from the previous form page. This process runs on page load before header but it is just not working right.
    So, what is the proper way to update two tables with the same form fields?

    Hello Vikas,
    "The Automatic Row Fetch and Automatic DML processes are a pair, you can't have one without the other."
    Are you sure about that? I have a page, which populate some of the items from TableA, using manual select statement, and after the user input, save some of it in TableB, using Automatic DML. No ARF in this process and it seems to work just fine. Come to think of it, what about a simple form, populated entirely by the user input, and then being saved to the db, using Automatic DML? No ARF here also.
    For the problem in hand, if you can't have more then one Automatic DML per page, I think that the simplest solution will be to define a pl/sql process, with two INSERT statement to the two different tables.
    Regards,
    Arie.

  • To have my form information mailed to me, do I need to have a php file?

    I've got an account with godaddy, and have tried to make a php document (don't understand the coding) for a simple form, but I can't get the results to show up in my email.  I just can't figure out what to put in my php.  I copied a template, but none of the data shows up in my email, only the subject. >I thought I need a 1) form in an html document
    Correct

    The php script (or any server side script) does not need to be in the same directory level as your index file or any other html file. You can put it anywhere in the site and provide the path in the form's action.
    >and form file 3)some  way to connect with the
    >server so it knows to process my data.
    Not sure exactly what you mean but the script can connect to your mail server to email the message or insert data to a database server - or several other possibilities.
    >Then when I hear that godaddy has it's own script. I have no clue "what  that means."
    Godaddy provides server side scripts that you can use.
    >Does that mean I don't need a php file?
    It means that you use their php ( or asp) script.
    >but I know that  seems unlikely because
    >there would be no way for godaddy server to
    >know  how I want it processed.
    Many mail form scripts can generically handle form processing. They iterate through all of the form fields and process them accordingly. You need to review the script documentation to make sure you setup your form correctly.

    Sending a file as an attachment to an email involves setting the correct MIME type and headers. There's a brief tutorial here: http://webcheatsheet.com/php/send_email_text_html_attachment.php.
    Also, you need to use the same name as in your form. In the script you have shown here, the name of the file field is strresume, but your processing script uses this: $_FILES['uploadedfile']['name']. It should be this: $_FILES['strresume']['name']

    Hi,
    this is the way i am showing a password dialog: i derive this class from JDialog (not from JFrame).
    In its constructor, i make it a modal dialog.
    public class PasswordDlg extends JDialog {
    private boolean ok; // this flag should indicate whether the User has pressed OK or CANCEL
                                 // i omit the code for OK and CANCEL here...
    public PasswordDlg(JFrame owner, String DisplayText) {
         super(owner,DisplayText,true); // true -> modal!
      public boolean showDialog()
        { ok = false;
          show();
          return ok;}
    } Now in my main frame (this is derived from JFrame) in its constructor, i make an instance of my PasswordDlg, call its showDialog method, ask the password from the dialog (i have omitted this method), and then i decide, whether the program should go on or whether i call System.exit(0) in case the password is wrong.

  • Chrome not sending email from form

    Hi Everyone,
    I have setup a form in CS5 have the input sent to me with a script.  It all works fine in IE 8, Firefox 12.0, Safari 5.1.2 for PC, but I do not get the email when using Chrome.
    I have the form page working on my website but the page itself is not linked yet, as I am testing still.
    I am including the form page itself meetfrm2 and the script sendresults
    If anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

  • ADDT Redirect not working properly

    I have a dynamic list with 3 dynamic forms which sort of act
    like a wizard where you select the record you want to edit from the
    dynamic list and then you go through 3 pages clicking next which
    should update the each part of the record and redirect to the next
    form passing a URL variable of the record ID. The problem I have is
    that the first redirect works fine to form number 2 but the
    redirect to form number 3 doesn't include the URL variable even
    though it is exactly the same in both Update transactions:
    upd_tblinspectors.registerTrigger Array("END",
    "Trigger_Default_Redirect", 99,
    "InspectorUpdate3.asp?fldInspID={GET.fldInspID}")
    So, the redirection goe's to the right page but doesn't pass
    the querystring variable.

    I just noticed this today on my mail program. When you select a message and then select Redirect from the Message window, the From is listed as being me. The emails have then have the original senders name, but YOUR email address with them.
    This is REALLY frustrating for me. I use the Redirect command to forward emails to our bug tracking system so the original person gets the reply from the system so they can then follow the progress.
    It also blows, because I can not redirect email to the appropriate person who can then hit "Reply" to respond to the person.
    Arggh! Anyone find a way around this? Anyone know of a different email program I can use if this is not fixed?

  • Psconsole fails to redirect

    We have installed Portal Server 7.2 in solaris 10 on sparc and deployed all our portlets.
    After some time, when we try to access psconsole, the IE browser says 'redirecting' and waits infinitely.
    We cannot see the login page.
    Any idea how to overcome this problem?
    We have Sun App Server, Directory Server, Access Manager, installed in the same machine.
    Portal itself is working great. But cannot see the psconsole login page.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I recommend to use the code below to see if the issue still occurs:
    onclick=”javascript: if (!Page_ClientValidate()) return false; {ddwrt:GenFireServerEvent(‘__commit;__redirect={/teams/ho3/sitepages/ARBThankYou.aspx }‘)}”
    You can also redirect the InfoPath form by changing the source URL value in the URL.
