Psconsole fails to redirect

We have installed Portal Server 7.2 in solaris 10 on sparc and deployed all our portlets.
After some time, when we try to access psconsole, the IE browser says 'redirecting' and waits infinitely.
We cannot see the login page.
Any idea how to overcome this problem?
We have Sun App Server, Directory Server, Access Manager, installed in the same machine.
Portal itself is working great. But cannot see the psconsole login page.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I recommend to use the code below to see if the issue still occurs:
onclick=”javascript: if (!Page_ClientValidate()) return false; {ddwrt:GenFireServerEvent(‘__commit;__redirect={/teams/ho3/sitepages/ARBThankYou.aspx }‘)}”
You can also redirect the InfoPath form by changing the source URL value in the URL.

  • Using Firefox 19.0 WIFI logon fails page redirect fails

Attempting to use Firefox at a variety of airports and hotels fails. The initial logon page is displayed but then the following pages which are redirects fail. Usual message is "Page not Found" Using the captive IP address does not work. Various combinations of settings do not work. AP has been associated and an optimum MTU has been determined via ping to the default gateway.

You should not need to disable antivirus to connect.
I assume you are not having Firefox block all redirects. You can check that setting here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced > General > ''uncheck'' "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"
What are your connection/proxy settings in Firefox? If you choose "Use system proxy settings" then Firefox should use IE's settings. Or if you choose "No proxy" then Firefox should default to your wi-fi connection.
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced > Network > "Settings" button
Can you think of any add-on changes you might have made since the T-Mobile days? A standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
If you can load sites normally, this points to one of your extensions or custom settings as the problem.

  • Web authentication on WLC fails to redirect when we enter URL i browser

I have a problem with a customer of mine. We have deployed two new WLC5508 running r7.0.116.0 and AP1142s, also WCS with r7.0.172. When we setup a "Guest Access" we ran into trouble .....
The problem is that we can associate to the SSID/AP and get an ip-adress. When we open the web-browser we do not get redirected to the virtual interface but instead the _hostname_ of the WLC. Like this:
    https://cisco6a19c4/login.html?redirect=nyttintranet.sem10.se/
I we manually replace "cisco6a19c4" with 1.1.1.1 it works as it should, the login page appears, we login and can access the internet. We have tested and disabled web-auth on the ssid an everything works, we can directly go out on the internet, DNS works without any problems.
    A little more info:
    2x WLC5508 runnnig r7.0.116.0 and APs are 1142
WLCs connected to Cat4503 via LAG
Guest network (VLAN) is transfered from WLC via the trunk to the Cat4503 and then connected on a access-port to a separate broadband-router, then to the inetrnet.
DHCP to guest-users from separate broadband-router which is def gwy and "DNS".
On the virtual interfaces no hostname is configured.
    ANY ideas??!?!?!???
    Best Regards
    Göran Blomqvist

Ooop....  waddyaknow....  As it turned out, one of the WLC _did have_ a name configured under the virtual interface, of course it was NOT the one that "our" AP was associated with....
That has now been corrected and the guest access is working as intended......
(Oh, yes we tried  with 3 PCs and 2 smartphones when we discovered the 'malfunction'....)
Thanx for the mental push Stefan!!
    Regards

  • Secondary DNS failing to redirect clients when Primary DNS goes down

I have a single domain with two Windows 2008 servers, DC1 (physical) and DC2 (virtual).  Both servers run DNS and are GC servers, and the entire domain is on the same subnet (192.168.0.x).
All clients on the network are configured to use DC1 as primary DNS, DC2 as secondary DNS.
DHCP is enabled only on DC1.  (This might be part of the issue, not sure).
The problem is that when DC1 goes down for a reboot or repair, we lose access to the internet from our clients.  Trying to pull up any website results in a "Page cannot be displayed" error.  DC2 is available during this time and can be
pinged from any client but does not resolve DNS requests, even if I specify it as the primary DNS server on one of my workstations.  However I can log on to DC2 locally and browse the web.
Here are the results of a DCdiag /dnsall from DC2 (I bolded areas of concern):

Looks like it may be trying to forward to a machine that's down (DC1 and another 192.168.0.7) and root hints aren't available.
    Check out this article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff807391(v=ws.10).aspx
See if you can enable DNS access through the firewall to the Internet if it's not already available.  Try to match whatever forwarder settings are on DC1, or remove them entirely and let the server resolve DNS from Internet root servers.  Alternativly,
you could change your forwarder to a public DNS server you have access to, your ISP should supply this or you could test with something common like 4.2.2.2.

    Seeing the error listed here.
The Remote Desktop Connection Broker server could not enumerate the targets for the provider named NULL from the database.

Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting this?
Used the happy wizard to create everything, and got no errors.
I have created a small pool collection, and given rights to domain users. Everything "looks" good.

    I have the same problem.
(Making this long hand for those who come after)
I have installed SQl Management Studio Express 2012 SP1
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29062
(You only need the one file "SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe")
    Ran this as Administrator
And typed in the Server Name field
    \\.\pipe\MICROSOFT##WID\tsql\query
    Then hit connect.
    Expanded Databases (+sign)
    Expanded RDCms
    Expanded Tables
Right Clicked on rds.target, select Edit top 200 rows
Right Clicked and copied, then pasted this into a notepad file on the desktop (As a backup)
Right Clicked and selected Delete to delete the row with the data in it (and PoolID was set to Null in this row)
    Did the same for rds.pool
Manually added Remote Desktop server into the MEMBER OF tab of
“Windows Authorization Access Group” via Active Directory Users and Computers. As this domain was Windows 2003 Native when the RDS server was first installed.
    Rebooted server and same issue>
Checked SQL again and rows had come back.
Is that what you meant by "delete
the rds.target and rds.pool with pool id = NULL"?
Not a SQL guru, so any help appreciated.

  • Windows 7 redirecting LPT ports to Terminal Services is broken compaired to Vista and XP

    Hello forum
We have encountered an issue with mapping LPT1 ports from any terminal server be it 2003 or 2008, the problem is the same.
Our XP clients and Vista clients works fine. Seems this issue is only present on Windows 7.
We have a program that requires printing to be done on the LPT1 port. The Printer connected to the client is driver less, it uses the raw output from the LPT port. So try not to think of it as a normal printer. We do not require drivers to be installed on
    the server or client.
Our XP and Vista clients works perfectly by using: net use LPT1:
    \\tsclient\lpt1:
And then printing to the LPT1 port.
When using Windows 7 clients to print, only 512 bytes are forwarded to the printer and the rest of the job is missing. If we print directly to
\\tsclient\lpt1: the print job is working and all is forwarded. But our program cannot print to UNC paths.
So what has changed in between Vista/XP and Windows 7 on the LPT port forwarding subject?
Our printer is a STAR TSP if you would like to know. The Win 7 Clients prints fine to the printer locally to the LPT port when not connected to the Terminal session.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hello Mobay,
Here are the conclusion about this situation:
    Symptom:
The Win7 client could not re-direct LPT port to a local printer when connecting through a terminal server/remote desktop session.
    Cause:
This is an known product issue of Win7, no QFE available yet.
    Resolution:
Possible workaround with Windows XP SP3, RDP 6.1 (and Hotfix 972828).
    Win7/Win2k8r2
    Vista/Win2k8
    WinXP/Win2k3
    RDC 5.2
    Succeed to redirect
    RDC 6.1
    Fail to redirect
    Succeed to redirect
    RDC 7.0
    Fail to redirect
    Fail to redirect
    Succeed to redirect
So it's by design that you can't use LPT port through RDP on Win 7 client machine.

  • How to create artifact and redirect

    HI ,
I need to implement a use case where there are two Access Manager(7.0) (first named as AM1, other AM2) and an tomcat server. Where AM1 is in some other domain and has trust relationship with AM2. Also AM2 and tomcat are in the same domain.
    Use case:
When the user is authenticated by 'AM1' I want 'AM1' to create artifact and redirects that artifact to the servlet in tomcat server, This servlet will then send request to AM2 which will send this artifact through SAML request to AM1, AM1 will process the artifact and send SAML assertion through SOAP over https.
I know this can be implement using SAMLClient API. but I dont want to install jar files on 'AM1'.
Is there any other way ? If its just a configuration issue please give me the details. I tried following Access Manager documentation and was able to created artifact using SAMLAwareservlet but it fails before redirecting to my servlet.
Following is the Message I get
    "Failed to Create SSO token"
    Please help,
    Thanks

It all depends on the current settings of the current SSID.
You cannot configure a web redirect with another security than none or a pre-shared key on layer2.
If you are using 802.1x, you can go with the splash page : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/ps6366/products_configuration_example09186a0080956185.shtml

  • DeployJava.js fails to install Java when no Java is present

In 7u11 in response to the latest zeroday hole in the applet sandbox, Oracle took the decision to display a warning popup on all unsigned or self-signed applets. This is really bad news for us and our 3 million (yes really) applet users as our previous applet loader used a single unsigned class to bootstrap a signed jar so now I have to rewrite the loader.
I ripped out the single loader class and decided to use the latest deployJava.js which works nicely starting the applet when Java 7u11 is already installed but testing it when Java is not installed I get the following behaviour:
Windows XP SP3 Firefox 18 : Installer runs but page refreshes in background every second (looks terrible) and when the installer completes the page shows a grey box with "A plugin is needed". Refreshing or restarting the browser fixes this but why does it refresh when not needed and then fail to refresh the one time it is needed?
Windows XP SP3 Chrome 24.0.1312.52m : Same problem as Firefox but error message is "Java is required to run this content". Refreshing fixes.
Windows XP SP3 Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 (latest): Same annoying 1 second refresh of the page in the background and finally get the message "Install failed" and redirect to an Oracle help page. Retried multiple times and made sure no remants of Java lying around.
Anyone else have problems with deployJava.js installing Java when no Java is present?

    Hi gimbal2,
By uninstalling Java from the Control Panel and then manually cleaning up the registry and filesystem I managed to get deployJava.js to install on IE8 now. Thank you.
I now have the same problem on all 3 browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE8) in that the installer takes 2-3 minutes to run, all the time our webpage is being refreshed by deployJava.js every second which looks terrible.
Finally, when the Java installer completes, it fails to perform the final refresh so on FF/Chrome I'm left with a grey box "A plugin is needed" or on IE8 a white box with the red X icon.
We have over 3 million users on our website and use applets for streaming stock price data. Yesterday when the default applet security setting in 7u11 was upped to high our users started getting the warning dialog about an unsigned class we use for Java detection and bootstrapping (fair enough).
The deployJava.js solution now works but looks terrible and leaves the user uncertain as to whether Java installed successfully.
I'll try and modify deployJava.js to reduce the refreshes and make the final refresh work and post findings here if successful.

  • RD Session Broker will not redirect to the Collection Servers.

    Host server running 2012 Hyper V with 3 VM's
    One RD Broker configured
Two Session Hosts in a collection - not in drain mode.
    All are 2012 R2
I can use RDweb and the RD broker will divert me to one of the host servers. I can use the RDP icon and works.
I would rather use the new remote desktop app in windows 8, and use Desktop Sessions (Terminal Services), not VDI or RD web.
I'm hoping that the Broker is in drain mode but the server will not redirect. I am not sure what's going on, I haven't placed the domain users in the remote desktop users on the Broker because I cannot place the Broker into drain mode like I had in the pass
    with 2008 R2
Doesn't make sense and I have done a heap of searching.
My objective is to use the remote desktop app and log into one of 2 servers with a desktop session.
I believe this is the error I need to get past.
I have placed Broker into the Windows Authorization Access Group
Remote Desktop Connection Broker Client failed to redirect the user domain\user. Error:NULL

    Hi,
As I understand it, if we put the TS server in drain mode, it prevents new users from logging onto the server, while allowing currently logged on users to reconnect to their existing sessions. I guess if you want to know how to put the server in drain mode
so it won’t accept any new connections. Do this by selecting its collection in RDMS. In the Host Servers section, right-click the server and choose “Do not allow new connections.” For more information, you may refer to this article,

Moreover, if there is something misunderstood, please send me the related srceenshots to be clear. Hope it is useful to you.

  • RD Connection broker failed to initialize

We have an RD farm with two session hosts and a gateway that has been working. It has been in use for several months and I don't think anything was changed. I was informed that it stopped working and I do see evidence of this. I've been troubleshooting and
see that the hosts both left the farm last week with this error message:
    Log Name:      Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-SessionBroker-Client/Operational
    Source:        Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-SessionBroker-Client

Since then whenever someone connects we get three events in a row in the same log:

Task Category: RD Connection Broker Client processes request from a user
    User:          NETWORK SERVICE

I'm not sure which direction to go. I've confirmed that the session hosts are both in local group "Session Broker Computers" on our Session Broker. On each host I've removed them from the farm and put them back in. When I do that I get the error:
    Event ID:      1284
Task Category: Connection Broker Client start up

    Description:
Remote Desktop Connection Broker Client failed to initialize while joining the Connection Broker on server gate.domain.com.
    HRESULT = 0x80070534
I've read the articles telling me to test connectivity. These computers are all on the same physical network and I can RDP and PING back and forth between them all. What can I try next?

  • Connecting to Remote Desktop Published Apps through RD Web Access not working

    Hello,
I have configured an RD Gateway server. My scenario is like I have a windows 2012R2 server with all RD components (Gateway, web access, connection broker, session host) configured, since this is for a poc. Externally I can access rd web access portal (https://<servername.domain.com>/rdweb)
and can connect to the target server using "Connect to a remote pc" tab without any issue.
But I can't connect to any published app from "Remote App and Desktop". The error I recieve is "unable to connect to remote pc. please provide the fully-qualified name......."
At the same time I can see below errors in event logs related to connection broker:
    Error 802:
RD Connection Broker failed to process the connection request for user domain\Administrator.
    Error: Element not found.
    Event 1306:
Remote Desktop Connection Broker Client failed to redirect the user domain\Administrator.
    Error: NULL
    Error 1296:
Remote Desktop Connection Broker Client failed while getting redirection packet from Connection Broker.
    User : domain\Administrator
    Error: Element not found.
Googling I could see some posts related to these issues, mentioning about to check the network connectivity between RDCB and the target server. I can defenitely say it is fine and already mentioned I can connect to the same server using "connect to
    remote pc" tab.
Just FYI, I have this server as Amazon EC2 instance and the domain is configured as Amazon directory service. Can someone please help me at the earliest.. This is pretty urgent as my tasks are pending due to this issue..

    Hi,
I have seen similar issues with Essential role installed, if it’s installed on the terminal server, please remove it.
Please also ensure involved machines are fully patched and keep port 443 of the TS server open.
When external users connect to the Web Access page, are they able to see remote apps? If not, please check whether user assignment setting is configured correctly for remote apps.
Are users able to open remote apps from internal network?

    Hello,
