Redirecting STDIN from pts/2 to pts/3

lets say i am in using pts/2 and would like to redirect some user input into another terminal, say pts/3, as STDIN, ie pts/3 should execute the command redirected into it
I need to redirect into an open terminal, so forking the command is not an option...
my guess is:
echo "ls\n" >&0 /dev/pts/3
but this is much to simple to work, can anyone correct me?
Thanks.

Hi Kris,
You should be using "query" not "cquery", which is a simple short cut for when you don't want to explicitly use the collection() function.

  • How to redirect user from login page to "Set Challenge question" page

How to redirect user from login page to "Set Challenge question" page (NOT custom page) after 3 un successful password attempts?
Meaning when user types wrong password 3 times they will be redirected to set Challenge question page. If user answers the challenge question then password reset page should be appeared other wise (after remaining 3 un successeful challenge question answers) account should be locked out.
    thanks for your help.

    hi sandeep
Thanks for your answer. Let me ellaborate more on the requirement here.
    - Password Policy and Lost Password management are set up in the identity system
    - Configure login tries allowed= 5. Verify accout is lock out after 5 unsucessful login.
This is what need to achieve.
    1) If a user attempts to login 3(not 5) times using an incorrect login credential he/she should be redirected to set challenge question (security question) page.
    2) Then if the user attempts (remaining) 2 times incorrect challenge answer then his/her account should be locked out.
    3) If he/she answers the challenge answer correctly then he/she should be redirected to password reset page.
    Is this possible?

  • How Can I make redirect caller from agent to any branch IVR?

I have IPCC Enterprise Edition (ICM 5.0, IVR 3.1)
How can I make redirect caller from agent to chosen branch IVR, and send with call any variable to IVR (e.g. account number).
    Regards
    Krzysztof

I would suggest that post-routing should not be used. The way to go is to use translation routing applications. Although post-routing is easy to set up, almost all deployments require translation routing. I can't think of anything good to say about post routing, other than it's trivial to configure.
You want the main route point to be on the CM_PIM.RC for a number of reasons. You can check to see which of your IVRs are on line, and/or to do load balancing. If calls don't need to go to the IVR if agents are ready, you can have an LAA Select node immediately, and then translation route. Even if you just have one IVR, translation routing will enable you to do RONA more easily.
You need to bite the bullet and learn translation routing. If you do it that way, peripheral variables attached to the call remain unaffected whether the call is under the control of the CM_PIM.RC or the IVR_PIM.RC. This is exactly what you want.
There is no need, in my opinion, to go to an external database. In your IVR, decisions made by the caller (e.g. which "skill" they want) set peripheral variables. When the call comes out of this script you check the peripheral variable, and depending on the value do a queue to the appropriate skill group and run external script (BasicQ.aef).
Separate the intelligence gathering IVR script from the Queuing script. Allow ICM to make the routing decisions.

  • Redirecting Trash from Network Home

    Hi All
Has anyone ever tried to redirect Trash from .Trash on a network home back onto a folder on the local drive?
I have tried using the Login Redirect via MCX without success.

Surely I am not the only person who has ever thought of doing this or maybe I am?

  • How to do a PortForward/Port Proxy? Redirecting traffic from port 8080 to 80 on the SAME machine

We have a CFTV system running on Win2008R2 that listens on 4 sequential port numbers and the last port is the Web Browser Port number for management and viwing cameras
When we configure the port 8077 on the software, it opens 8077, 8078, 8079 and 8080 and works with no problem
    But...
When we try to configure ports 77 (and therefore 77, 78, 79 and 80) thw applications hangs and seems like not be possible to configure to use port 80
I could confirm that,  using NETSTAT and the main CFTV application open all required ports with no problem, but only works on ports with a different number from "80", wich is what i want, to make users more confortable, avoiding to type ":PORT_NUMBER"
after the URL, it will be more "ellegant" solution to use default port 80 for user´s connections
The question is: How to do a PortForward/Port Proxy? Redirecting traffic from port 8080 to 80 on the SAME machine?
May i Use NETSH? (based on Help, it can be used to do this, but on different machines, not the same one)
There is a RELIABLE application, running as a service, that can do the port forward/redirect?

    Hi,
I’m sorry to tell you that we can’t redirect traffic from a port to another port on the same server itself. But we can do it with a router which is configured to portfoward.
By the way, according to your description, another program may use the port 80. Is there an IIS installed on the server? If it is necessary, you can consult your CFTV system vendor.
    Hope this helps.

  • AppleScript to redirect mail from Exchange to mail

Can somebody point me to AppleScript samples that would allow me to redirect mail from Exchange to my Gmail account? (I can't use rules in Mail because Exchange doesn't allow redirect.)

This post doesn't involve applescript.  You could look into one of these options.  Do not know if they work with exchange or not.  The idea is that they log into your account and forware email to another account of yours.
What soda3 does is connect to your email server before you do.  It filters out the junk mail.  It passes the "good stuff" on to you.
    http://www.soda3.com/iphone
Don't know how this works, but makes greats claims.  Maybe it works like soda3.  There is a fee.

  • Mail redirect rule only redirects mail from certain domain!!!

    Hi all,
I set up a rule in Mail to redirect EVERY message to a certain email address (for backup/storage purposes) However it only redirects emails from email addresses with the same domain as my email (eg will redirect mydomainname.com but not otherdomainname.com
Why is this??? Any ideas on how to fix it??? It is getting the mail from an Exchange server if that helps any...

    Thanks for the welcome!
Ok so here are some screenshots...
Here is the screenshot of the rule details
Here is the main rules window
And here is a screenshot showing how some are redirected and some are not (the ones that are redirected (and the one that shows the forward icon (it was forwarded before I set up the redirect rule)) are all from the same domain as my email account.
    Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Help with redirecting URL from Web Dynpro

    Hi,
I have a question regarding how i can construct a URL where i would like to forward the user from a WD app based on some user interaction.
The problem is that i need to know the protocol, server & host to resend the control to ( basically append these values to a url path that i have eg: <http(s)>://<host>:<port>/<the path i have>).  With NW2004s, the request object is not exposed to us anymore, so i am wondering what is the best way to construct the url.
I have gone through various posts here and the one that came closest to accomplishing what i need is the one by Valery S which recommends creating a Servlet that captures the request info that i need and then calling the WD app including the info that i need as request parameters in the calling URL.
Before i do this, i want to see if anyone has been able to solve this through another approach.
    Appreciate the inputs.
    Best Regards
    Renchy Thomas

    Renchy,
Now I see you are conflicting with yourself
On one hand, if you need to redirect to the application hosted on the same server you need no protocol/server/port parameters. And you confirmed that this works for you.
On other hand, you are complaining that WD doesn't know in advance the protocol/host/port of arbitrary server you are planning to redirect to. Well, as I understand this is not API issue, this is configuration issue. You just need some configurable way to store such settings.
If this is true, then I can suggest 2 options:
    1. HTTPDestination -- you are setting and configuring destination via VisualAdministrator, then from your code you are lookup destinitation by logical name and get physical URL.
    2. IWDConfiguration / WDConfiguration -- you are creating settings as regular properties file, after deployment you may tweak this property file with VisualAdministrator. From code you are using WDConfiguration API to read URL or parts of URL as properties.

  • Redirect service from http to https, session is lost

I have setup two web sites using NT 4.0 IIS so that both
              "http://nossl/mybeanbeans" and "https://ssltest/mybeanbeans"
can execute the commerce server mybuybeans example.
              Then I modify the shoppingCartDetail.jsp and commandAssembler.jsp
(files attached) hoping that when I click the "Checkout" button
on the Shopping Cart screen, it will redirect the service from
              http to https.
The URL is redirected to "https" but it depicts the welcome page
instead of showing the Order Check Out page.
              Previous session information is lost.
              Can anyone help me?

the problem is when the cookie is exchanged between the browser
and the app server IE treats request coming from http://bc.com:7001
and http://bc.com:7002 as one and the same : so the browser maintains
the same session but netscape treats this as responses coming from two
different servers and hence u lost the session.
I assume u are having this problem with netscape and not IE.
the solution is set this property in the weblogic.properties file
              weblogic.httpd.session.cookie.domain=.bc.com

  • File getting locked in RDC when saving it to redirected drive (from remoteapp).

    Hello,
when exporting excel file from our RemoteApp to my local C disk (\\tslcient\c) the file is getting locked and can not be used until I close the RemoteApp. If for example I try to delete file before closing RemoteApp,
I get the error that file is being used by Remote Desktop Client.
If during export I choose to save the file on remoteApp server, or on mapped network drive, it is not getting locked and can be used right away.
Is there a way to save it to my redirected C drive and be able to use it without closing remoteApp ?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Initially see that you have client mapped drive is enabled. You can enable the setting under collection properties client settings-Drive Redirection Option. In addition, we can also check the GPO setting “Do not allow drive redirection” under below
    mention path.
    Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Device and Resource Redirection
Also can generate some script that would add shortcut and points to the shared drive. After this the shortcut would be added to the default location you see when you do the save file from your application.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.
    Dharmesh Solanki
Client drive is redirecting without problem and it is accessible, we can browse it, copy and save files there.
The problem is that when we save file from RemoteApp to redirected client drive, the file is locked by remote desktop connection process and can not be accessed until RemoteApp is closed.

  • Redirecting audio from the mini box to the TB display

I just installed the TB display update (12 Dec 2011).  On completion I'm prompted to select a connectivity.  Not understanding the ramifications, I select connection to the mini.  I now get the audio from the mini and not the TB display.  A big comedown.
The question is how to redirect the audio to the TB displays speakers rather than the mini and its tiny speakers.
    cmd
    Austin

    To set up sound input:
1 Choose Apple () > System Preferences, and then click Sound.
2 Click the Input tab in Sound preferences.
3 Choose Display Audio to input sound through your display’s microphone.
    To set up sound output:
1 Choose Apple () > System Preferences, and then click Sound.
2 Click the Output tab in Sound preferences.
3 Choose Display Audio to hear sound through your display’s speaker system.
These sound settings are used whenever your display is connected to your computer. They remain in effect until you change them.

  • Writing to mplayer's stdin from bash script.

I was just fulling with some bash script in order to automate the listening of my favorite radio stations via mplayer and a bash script. Going through the mplayers manual I saw the option -slave.
    -slave
This option switches on slave mode. This is intended for use of MPlayer as a backend to other programs. Instead of intercepting keyboard events, MPlayer will read simplistic command lines from its stdin. The section SLAVE MODE PROTOCOL explains the syntax.
At first I thought "ok, easy". I made some tries like "mplayer -slave -quiet .... < /tmp/stdin &" and then something like "echo -e 'mute' > /tmp/stdin" but it wouldn't work.
Is it possible to send a process to the background inside a bash script and then write to it's stdin?
    SLAVE MODE PROTOCOL
If the -slave option is given, playback is controlled by a line-based protocol. Each line must contain one command otherwise one of the following tokens:
    Commands
    seek <value> [type=<0/:1/:2>]
Seek to some place in the movie. Type 0 is a relative seek of +/:- <value> seconds. Type 1 seek to <value> % in the movie. Type 2 is a seek to an absolute position of <value> seconds.
    audio_delay <value>
Adjust the audio delay of value seconds
    quit
    Quit MPlayer
    pause
    Pause/:unpause the playback
    grap_frames
    Somebody know ?
    pt_step <value> [force=<value>]
Go to next/:previous entry in the playtree.
    pt_up_step <value> [force=<value>]
Like pt_step but it jumps to next/:previous in the parent list.
    alt_src_step <value>
When more than one source is available it selects the next/:previous one (only supported by asx playlist).
    sub_delay <value> [abs=<value>]
Adjust the subtitles delay of +/:- <value> seconds or set it to <value> seconds when abs is non zero.
    osd [level=<value>]
Toggle osd mode or set it to level when level > 0.
    volume <dir>
    Increase/:decrease volume
    [contrast|brightness|hue|saturation] <-100-100> [abs=<value>]
    Set/:Adjust video parameters.
    frame_drop [type=<value>]
    Toggle/:Set frame dropping mode.
    sub_visibility
    Toggle subtitle visibility.
    sub_pos <value>
    Adjust subtitles position.
    vo_fullscreen
    Switch to fullscreen mode.
    tv_step_channel <dir>
    Select next/:previous tv channel.
    tv_step_norm
    Change TV norm.
    tv_step_chanlist
    Change channel list.

FIFO's are awesome and can be (ab)used for a lot of cool stuff.
I've written some applications that do just what you are trying to do ( http://github.com/trapd00r/rmcd and http://github.com/trapd00r/RPD ), if you need inspiration.
As for the backgrounding - you want to make a 'daemon', to detach from the running shell. See man fork, man 3 setsid and man 3 wait / man 3 waitpid (or my daemonize() function).

  • Redirecting browser from an applet with POST

    Hi,
How can I cause an applet to redirect a browser window using a POST request?
    Thanx,
    Yaron

redirect using postIf you mean send a post request and let the http resonese redirect the page then
    you have 2 options.
    1.
set values of html object from the applet (calling javascript):
    this.getAppletContext().showDocument(
new URL("javascript: someJSFunction('param','param');"));Submit the form from the applet calling javascript (see above).
Note that I don't use JSObject since that one makes mozilla crash since jre 1.5
    2.
Use URL and URLConnection to POST your data.
Then use this.getAppletContext().showDocument() to navigate the the redirected URL (according to response from the URLConnection)
    Using POST:

  • Redirecting Home from DAS Password Reset Page

    Hello,
My company's portal (10.1.4) uses the standard DASResetPwd functionality for users to reset their own passwords from a customized login page.
I have read that the URL can be customized with attributes such as doneURL and cancelURL, which controls the page redirect for their respective functions.
However, I am looking to redirect the Home button back to the portal, and not to the OIM Home Page (/oiddas/ui/oiddashome) which it is doing by default.
The reason why is we do not want our users to have access to the directory, org charts, etc.
Is there an attribute that can control the redirecting URL of the Home button? I have tried ?homeURL=http://<myportal> and ?p_home_url=http://<myportal> with no success.
If not, can this page be customized? I would like to avoid a complete custom solution to this, as the default functionality works fine.

  • Prevent redirected printer from roaming in RDS

Whenever users logon on remotely from home their default home printer is redirected which allows them to print which is fine.  The only issue is that when they get back to the office, their default printer is now lost and the first one on the list of
printers (Adobe PDF is now chosen as the default.  It seems that the default printer reg. key from the remote session is being saved in their roaming profile.  We also use Citrix to logon remotely and this is not an issue because Citrix has their
own printer policy that prevents his from happening.  Is there a log off script or a GP setting that can be used to fix the issue that I am having?
    Thanks

    RDS - server 2008 R2

    Hi GSsystems,
Based on my understanding, the GPO which configured default printer works well when users logon on remotely, however the default printer is lost when users get back to the office. Right?
Accoding to my knowledge, the behavior of changing Default
Printer after RDP-in/out is shown as below:
Logon, client RDP into the server, Remote Desktop service will query the
default printer from Registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\Device
    RDPCLIP.exe would save the Default
Printer settings to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\DefaultPrinter
Remote Desktop service will edit the Default
Printer registry, and then will call Print Spooler service to set
Default Printer to the one redirected.
    Logoff
Remote Desktop service will query and call Print Spooler service to delete the redirected
    default printer.
    RDPCLIP.exe will load the Default
Printer settings from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\DefaultPrinter
    RDPCLIP.exe will restore the Default
Printer registry key based on the one it previously stored
Call Print Spooler service to update the Default
    Printer
In this case, I would suggest to set the option “Always use the same printer as my default printer”. You can set this option via GUI or registry key. For your information, please refer to the following links:
