Refresh in Visual Composer

Hi Experts,
Can anyone tell how to refresh the events ("SUBMIT") in visual composer.Where to set or see the event settings??

Hi Roshni,
Can you explain in detail what type of event do you want to put on your form. Do you want to refresh the elements on your form by clicking some button?
About where to set the event settings, follow the following steps:
a) Select the outline of your Form and then click the Configure button in the task-panel
toolbar. The fields and controls in the form are displayed in the table at the bottom of the
task panel.
b) Click the Plus (Add) button at the bottom of the task panel. The New UI Control dialog
box is displayed.
c) From the Select control type list, choose Pushbutton and in the Field name field, enter a name. This creates a new control in your Form.
d) Right-click the button, choose Properties from the context menu and click the Action tab to define the event that is associated with the button.
f) Now if you want to submit the data entered in this form, you can set Action Type as System Action, and select the action from drop down as 'Submit Form'. Else you can define your own custom action by setting the Action Type as Custom Action and the defining your own action.
By the way, the if some event can be put on some UI element, it has to be defined in the same way, ie by going to the properties of that element.
See if this solves your problem, otherwise please explain in detail what event do you want to be put.

Timer Event in Visual Composer

Hi,
I want to refresh a bapi each 12 sec so that it fetch me the latest data.
So i have attached a timer to the input port of the bapi and a table to out port.
So now when i deploy i am able to see the data in the table but after 12 sec when again the event is fired, no data is displayed in the table.
The same senario works perfectly well for other bapis, but i am not able to understand why its not working for a particular bapi.
So what should i do so as to overcome this problem.

Hi Paresh,
just some hints:
- does the output of the bapi, i.e. what is deliverd to the table, differ from time to time?
- change the flag "dynamic port" of your data service, maybe this helps?
- make sure that the data that is channeld to the bapi by the timer is correct (maybe when the timer fires it delivers a wrong input value? Leading zeroes maybe?)

Dynamic Entry List doesn't work correctly on Visual composer 7.3

Hi,
Well I create two Dynamic Drop dow list box in the model of Visual Composer 7.3 and I Linked the two Dinamic drop down boxes ( i.e. drop down box "country" is linked with drop down box "state"), where the 2nd drop down is populated by the entries of the 1st drop down by the help of a web service.
When i run the model and chose one item form the 1st drop down list, the 2nd drop down list work's fine but when i select again the 1st drop down list and change the item for another, the 2nd drop down list try to refresh the data and erase the descripcion of the item but don't erase the value of that item and when you select the 2nd again the value appears like another item to select..
Has any one experienced this problem and can help on this?

Cannot see created Web Service in Visual Composer Search

I am following the example of chapter 2 of the book"SAP Netweaver Composition Environment". I am trying to search for a web service that has been created, but I cannot find it.
I created a logical destination for the service, named EDMProjectDestination, using nwa->Configuration Management->Infrastructure->Destinations. This was OK, but when I try to search for it in the Visual Composer environment, it does not appear on the list after a refresh or even a system reboot.
Also, when I go back to the Web Services navigator, and try to search by Logical Destination, I am told that there are no logical destinations configured.
Can somebody please inform me what mey be missing here?

Refesh data on visual composer

Good day everybody,
i am busy with the design and coding the solution for the visual composer, but my challenge now is to find out how to clear or refresh data on visual composer. what i have done is that i created one big structure that will display different output data based on the selection screen. e.g if i have selected employees who exceeded overtime hours then it displays data accordingly and if select employees per cost centre it must display data accordingly but what is happening is that data overwrite the other.My function module works perfectly from where i get data from. On the visual composer what i have done is for each field i have a condition based on the output e.g.(if output = 1) BOOL(IF(#ID[ACA6OX]@OUTPUT == '1', true, false)) if (output = 2) BOOL(IF(#ID[ACA6OX]@OUTPUT == '2', true, false)) and (if output = 3) BOOL(IF(#ID[ACA6OX]@OUTPUT == '3' OR TRIM(#ID[ACA6OX]@OUTPUT)== '', false, true)). But is still overwrites can anyone help me in this regard as to how can i clear the visual compser.

Yes, the GUI_UPLOAD relies on the "SAP Gui connection" which is not possible in a Web environnement like the Visual Composer.
In languages such as Web Dynpro (Java or ABAP) or BSP, you can upload file to the server.
You might have to "mix" technologies to provide upload and still keep using VC.

Loading Visual Composer....

Hi
I am trying to open Visual Composer in browser, after proper authentication, the browser stuck up at "Loading Visual Composer....", however nothing shows up...it is absolutely blank screen with empty two frames.
Just to give you little background, I have installed it with NW2004s. And also I have added my local domain in trusted zones in IE, however as I have firefox as my default browser, http://localhost:50100/VC/default.jsp always open up in firefox browser, so I don't know if the adding local domain to IE trusted zone would help in firefox.
I will really appreciate any help on this.

I tried to make my internet explorer as default (after going to Tool->Internet Option->Prog-->Set the Internet Explorer as default.
However, inspite of that still VC would open in Firefox. Even if I copy and paste the URL for VC in IE, the system would open new windows in Firefox and IE will be just empty.....
I uninstalled the Firefox, and now when I run in IE, the message I get that Application is not found......!!
Another input is that when I installed NW2004s, IE7 and Firefox were already installed. However after NW2004s, installation I uninstall IE 7 (because of some issue in E. Portal) and now I uninstalled Firefox, and I am getting the message "Application Not Found" .......Does it mean that NW2004s keeps references to different type browsers at the time of it's installation. And incase you change the browsers (the way I did), I might have to set/reset/refresh the entries either in config or in Visual Administration.
Any tip/feedback will be highly appreciated.
PS: I re-started the J2EE engine,after I uninstalled browser.

Can not see "Compose" option in the visual Composer

Error while making iview with visual composer

I am trying to make an iview usign visual composer.
In the document that i have for making the iview , it says that when you have the bapi list you need to drag and drop the bapi to the empty iview pane . When i do so it gives me the following error ...
"Portal request failed
(com/sap/mdi/ObjectFactory)"
What do i do ?

I tried to do so research on the problem and it is being talked about in a thread on the forum . They ask to refer to the sap note 765461 to resolve the mdi reference . In the note they ask you to refer the installation guide of the installed version of EP . I have EP 6.0 SP2 . The installation guide says the following ...
7.1.2 Adding References
To enable some of the features in the portal environment, add references to reference file.
To add a reference:
1. With a text editor, open the file:
Windows: <installation drive>:\usr\sap\<SAP J2EE instance name>\j2ee\<instance
number>\cluster\state\services\file\work\managers\reference.txt
Unix: /usr/sap/<SAP J2EE instance name>/j2ee/j2ee_<instance number>/
cluster/state/services/file/work/managers/reference.txt
2. Look for the line:

3. After the line mentioned in previous step, add the following in a new line:

I did the same ....but now my server is not starting . By chance i didn't keep a bakup of the file which they asked me to delete .
Now what do i do ?
I think i am stuck up badly here .

Deepak,
It is not that bad. By deleting you are recreating that managers.bin file during startup based on the reference.txt and library.txt (recollecting from my memory). This could also happen if there is a typo or some special characters in the reference.txt
I don't know what J2EE patch you are at, but after PL22 you can actually add the reference using the "add reference" command from the administrator console.
could you please send the error you are getting? To revert back the simplest thing is removing the line you have added and restart.

I am using J2EE engine 6.20 SP2 .I tried to get the server started by the following two methods
1) I removed my entry in the reference.txt file and then start the engine by running go.bat from the required path .
2) I got the original file managers.bin which i deleted and then placed in the required path and restarted the server
Both the options didn't work .
I am not getting any error when i restart the server. When i run the batch file go.bat it starts the console and shows me the various managers loading . After it shows the Clustermanager loading , it stops and gets stuck .
Not sure what should i do now .Is reinstallation the only solution ?
Is there a solution from the administrator console ?

No you don't need to re-install. Try the following.
1. First start the state controller by runing go.bat in the following directory.
/usr/sap/xxx/j2ee/cluster/state/go.bat
You get the message waiting for cluster manager.
2. start the server in a different window
/usr/sap/xxx/j2ee/cluster/server/go.bat
You get the message waiting for cluster manager
3. Start the dispatcher
/usr/sap/xxx/j2ee/cluster/dispatcher/go.bat
Please let me the know the error messages.

I tried to do what venkat suggested . Infact I had mailed him the snapshot of the screen when i start the state controller as he suggested . For other people in the forum this is what is happening . When i start the state controller it displays an error and then the window closes immediately . I have managed the screen shots somehow and in those i could find two messeges in the begining and the end which could be useful for debugging the problem ...they are
1) [DBMS]: ID3004:DB file header do not match exception .
com.inqmy.services.dbms.server.interfaces.DatabaseException: Error while opening database ...
2) ID000544: Error statrting service dbms. DBMS service not started properly due to: Errro while opening database
[Framework -> criticalShutdown] Service dbms startup error !
After the state controller window closes i run the server in a different window and i get a message waiting for the cluster manager as suggested . Now i start the dispatcher and i get the same messege there as well ie waiting for the cluster manager .
What is to be done now . Is this information sufficient to suggest me something ? Please let me know if you require any other information .

Your help would be kindly appreciated in resolving an 'Add Row'-issue within a Flex Table that uses Dynamic Entry Lists in Visual Composer. The issue here is as follows :
When I use a [Local Dynamic Entry List |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=O5hrG2aMxWZ84Mu1211193041]to populate a row field, the initial row and all next rows are emptied upon 'insert row', they loose their selected values and also the entry list values ('pull-down menus') are lost. The initial row does [show the entry list values |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=2HybmEHAuQYs9cg1211192766]from the Local Dynamic Entry List based on the dynamically assigned input value; upon 'insert row' the entry lists are lost. When using a [Global Dynamic Entry List |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=m5p2KYuBb442dTq1211193501]to populate the row fields the Flex-table behaves normally as expected. Unfortunately with a Global Entry List it is not possible to dynamically assign a input value. Hi,
you should be able to assign a dynamic value with global entry lists as well. If you say @myParam as dynamic value. VC will indicate in red letters, that the field @myParam is unknown. However, it will work, as long as @myParam is known in the form or table where you use the entry list.
I have never heard of the problem that entry lists are emptied after "insert"-event.

How to use ENQUE and DEQUE BAPI in Visual Composer

We are planning to update employee Address through Portal for that one we did one BAPI which supports ADDRESS Change of an employye, through Visual Composer we developed the application and we integrated into SAP Portal but we are not able to update our records, then we found BAPI_EMPLOYEE_ENQUE and BAPI_EMPLOYEE_DEQUE, but we don't know how to use thease BAPI's in Visual Composer i mean how to make connection between out input form and thease BAPI''s and our custom BAPI's.
If any one having this experience please let me know.

Nice to see your reply, we got this error in R/3 it self, when we are trying to excuting SAP Standard BAPI we are getting this error "Employee/applicant is not locked yet". I think this is bug from SAP itself, do you have any idea about this one? is there any settings we need to do in R/3 for resolving this one or else is there any data we need to maintaine for our Employee Records.
Please resolve my issue.

Unable to create visual composer table view from the Bex Query

Hi
I am trying to create the visual composer lay out from a Bex query. The Bex query contains a set of Key figures and a structure.
These key figure and structure combination is forming a table in the query output. Key figure parameters are coming as rows and Structure parameters are coming as columns.
example query out put:
Total, HPC, FDS excel ICe etc are as Structure elements and coming as columns in query out put and
Invoice value, Gross sale value, Efficient operations etc are as Key figure elements in query and coming as rows in query out put.
But if I map this query to visual composer table view all these are coming as columns as given below.
Total Invoice value , Total Gross sale value, Total Efficient operations, HPC Invoice vale,.........
And if execute the query will giving the out put in single row.
Can anybody help me out to map this in the row column format?
Is it really possible to do in VC?
I am using CE 7.2. The VC model I need to be embedding in BPM.
Please help me to solve this issue. I completely stuck up this issue.

Hi,
Try to use some function module which will convert query data into flat tables. (eg., RS_VC_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA_FLAT).

I want to work with BeX Query using Visual Composer 7.1
I created BI system in EP System configuration.

In order to search for BI destinations in VC you must have the BI Kit for VC installed on your machine.
