Refreshing Analyzer View on Intelligence Dashboard

We are on version 8.3.2, sp3 of Hyperion Intelligence and Foundation. Therefore, we don't have an integrated environment that includes Essbase and Analyzer. Having said that, is there a way to (for example) choose a limit from a dropdown on a dashboard page and have it refresh a chart built in Intelligence and refresh the embedded browser view on the same page (embedded browser uses Analyzer against Essbase). I'm not sure how we would log the user into Analyzer as the first step. I know there is a "Point of View" component built into the Dashboard building tool that does this type of thing, but it appears to only be application to integrated System9/foundation environments. If anybody has any experience and can share a bqy or give some feedback, I would appreciate it. Brooks

Hi.
1. Put Analyzer in design mode, then double click on any object to open up the property screen. Disable the AutoFit on the "general" tab will stop the Analyzer from dynamically resizing the cells.
2. The feature you're looking for is also in the property screen under the tab called "clipping".

If the two MVs have to be consistent with each other as of a specific time, put them into a Refresh Group and refresh them with DBMS_MVIEW.REFRESH
If an MV is dependent on another, use DBMS_MVIEW.REFRESH_DEPENDENT

Oracle Business Intelligence Dashboard username / password

Hello
I am trying to access Business Intelligence Dashboard and it is prompting for a username / password. I have the administrator username/ password however it is not allowing me to login. Which username / password should i use to access the dashboard page.

i think you are new to OBIEE.
let me say something about it.
OBIEE has mainly two components on which users can work.
1.RPD. (Designing and syncronization from Database comes under this).
2.Presentation. (Dashboards,Answers and all other reports to the end user for analysis.)
What ever you have designed in the rpd of OBIEE can be viewed in Presentation.
To access rpd go to OracleBI/server/repository and click on your rpd.
the default path of the rpd is (OracleBI/server/repository).
You have many rpd's find the correct one.
you have to configure it for presentation.
it is a long process.
If you are using 10g you can login with user_name :Administrator and password :Administrator or empty.

I am using 11G owb. I would like to know if any one can help me know if there is any easy to Refresh materialized view . I will be using this materialized view to source data from my maps. this map will be part of a process flow. i would like to refresh the materialized view before every run of the map in process flow.

A couple of approaches;
* refresh the MV from a procedure in a pre map process operator (its an operator in a mapping), or
* call the procedure from a process flow activity before the map

Refresh Materialized View in a process.
I have a USER2.Materialized view and when I want to refresh it I execute:

But I have the ETL process in a USER1.package
The User1 needs any Materialized View Grant or any privilegie?
How can I refresh the Materialized View in a procedure in the USER1.package?

Creation of fast refresh materialized view

I am creating fast refreshable materialized view.At that time i am getting error message

I created log's also on that tables(emp,dept)

It will be possible to create a Materialised view with up to 20 tables, but you have to understand the restrictions on complex Materialised views with regards to fast refresh.

There are user's requirements to open locally saved .ppt files with embedded dashboards offline from computers, which are not connected to corporate net. The only way I found is to save flash object as picture while viewing PowerPoint presentation.with dashboard online. Do you know any other ways?

Unable to refresh Materialized view group when an Mview is added

I have 8 MVs present in my DB and added them to a MV refresh group. But I am getting the error below when I try to refresh the group.

Hi,
You didn't leave a version (Again), so I can only guess.
You may be suffering from
Bug 10096159 ORA-12048 error message raised by DBMS_REFRESH.REFRESH is not corrrect
Meaning it could be a different MV that fails to refresh.

Right now, it takes a couple minutes. XMLTYPE is one problem and the Complex Query exception is the other. If there is a work-around for fast refresh, please let me know. Greatly appreciated.

I could not find any specific reference in documentation about restriction on XMLTYPE (or CLOB) columns but it seems logical that oracle will not be able to keep track of changes to binary data. What does DBMS_MVIEW.EXPLAIN_MVIEW generate for your MV definition? That should tell you which all conditions (for FAST REFRESH) your MV violates. Since you can not create a MV LOG to include XMLTYPE column, it will not be possible to create a FAST REFRESHABLE MV that includes the XMLTYPE column.
I am afraid there is not much you can do here unless you are prepared to change the way data is stored in your base tables. If you can store data in base tables using standard data types instead of binary/XML storage, you might be able to create a FAST REFRESHABLE MV.

I am trying to create a materialized view with Refresh FAST option. This is based on a view. I am getting an error that there is no materialized view log on the table. But we cannot create a materialized view log on a view. Can you please let me know how to create a FAST REFRESH materialized view on a view.

Thanks Justin! Actually, I have a remote database on which I want the copy of one of our tables. We have a view on this table on the source database with meaningful names. I have created materialized view logs on the underlying table. If I am able to create a MV on the view, then I need not write that extra step to code for meaningful names. I wanted to know if a fast refresh is possible on a view (There are materialized view logs on the underlying table)?
