Reg ABAP as UME for J2EE engine with portal

Hi ,
I am using ABAP as the UME for J2EE engine.
The main user is j2ee_admin. In case of login to portal with this user there is no roles assigned to this user.
what roles should i add in the R/3 side to make this available  ?
I am also not able to create users or access any role related operation in the UME interface available for the J2EE engine.
Any suggestions..
Regards
Bharathwaj

Hi Bharthwaj
Since thr portal user and Roles are relies on portal database u used Only SAP system as the UME tha's why
u cant's assigned or get any role in the portal
SO if u want to use SAP system as UME u should use
datasource Read only SAP system + Database

  • Separate license for J2EE engine???

    Hi,
I have a J2EE instance with EP. I have applied a license key received in a text file.
After applying the license, I see the following in the system info:
    License Valid Till
    =============
    NetWeaver_MSS : 92431234
    J2EE_**** _MSS : 12
    My question is:
Why does J2EE engine shows expiry after 12 days? Do we need to install a separate license for J2EE engine?
    Any inputs would be helpful.
    Thanks, Abdul

    Hi Abdul
Did u request for a temporary license? U should go for a premenant license. And also, is this EP server, has ABAP stack on the same machine?
Are you installing the license in Visual administrator?
    Thanks

  • SCA file for J2EE ENGINE CONNECTIVITY

    Hi Experts,
I am looking for the SCA file for the Software Component J2EE ENGINE CONNECTIVITY 7.00 (SP7). I would like download that from Service Market Place. But I am unable to find that.
I found one component called SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00 (SAPJEE22_0-10003469.SCA). Not sure if this is the same as J2EE ENGINE CONNECTIVITY 7.00 (SP7).
I also tried to search it in s/w download section in marketplace, but did not find any.
Could any one kindly tell me the SCA file and the download path in market place?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Sujit.

    Mark,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have opened both JEE and JEECOR with WinRAR and search all the *.sda & *.jar files.
But the specific file "J2EE ENGINE CONNECTIVITY 7.00 (J2EE-CONN)" is not found.
It seems its integral part of one of this SCAs'.
Please tell me which one of the above contains the J2EE-CONN.
I have a requirement from development team that to import this J2EE-CONN component in NWDI track. Its already present in our SLD as a Software Component, but we are unable to find this anywhere.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sujit.

  • Using J2EE agent with Portal 7

    Hello!
I'm trying to use a J2EE policy agent 2.2 for Application server 8.2 with portal, protecting /portal URL. However, after it prompts me to log in, the policies are not enforced. It works with the agentapp, but not with Portal when the AMagent filter is introduced.
Does anyone know why portal application ignores policies in access manager or where to get the documentation on how to properly troubleshoot this?
    Thanks
    -Max

    Ok, its true.
My intention is to confirm if is possible install a Java instance in the same server that ECC is running with Abap instance.
My confusion is because note 1007341, in "deviations" part, says:
    ECC 5.0 (ERP 2004 back-end system),
    XSS 500 on a separate J2EE 6.40, EP NW04s
with business packages ESS and MSS (SAP ERP 2004).
The SAP system only supports this system landscape
if you have installed XSS 500 on a separate J2EE 6.40.
Then, would I install abap stack, and java stack as separate instances (not add-in!) ? and this landscape is supported acordding this note?
(in the example, A and C are in the same server)
    thanks in advance!

  • Using ABAP Web dynpro for connecting EP with MDM

    Hi All,
We have an architecture landscape in which EP User interface (iviews) need to integrate with MDM import manager. Is it possible to achieve this using Web dynpro? If any company has implemented this kind of scenario before, please gave us the tips.
    Thanks,
    Anand

    Hi Anand,
You can use MDM Java API in WD. ABAP API for MDM is is currently in process.
Just wondering what kind of business scenario do you have which allows portal users to use import manager`s functionality.
    Best regards, Maksim Rashchynski.

  • J2EE Engine or Portal Runtime

    Hi Experts,
I have this thread on in another forum. The question was not answered and I am running out of time. I do not know how to move the threads either. Please excuse me for having 2 threads.
    But here is my question.
I am on ECC6.0/EP7.0SP11. I am trying to do the open enrollment (in ess portal: Employee Self-Service>Benefits and Payment> Open Enrollment) through ESS portal. It is working good. But when I try to do the Adjustment Reason Enrollments (Employee Self-Service>Benefits and Payment> Adjustment Reason Enrollment), it shows a blank page. I compared the URLs the applications are accessing.
    1. Open Enrollment (working fine):
    http://hostname.<domain name>:50000/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=<b>ROLES%3A</b>//portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.roles/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_benefits_payment/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.enrollment&WebDynproNamespace=sap.com/ess~ben&WebDynproApplication=BenefitsApplication&DynamicParameter=sap-epcm-guid%3D4D41E649BB4A796AB2F164E866E090BB5F9145DB9BB7DE809A520C544A07CE53%26sap.xss.menuhdr%3DSAPDEFAULT%26sap-config-mode%3Dtrue%26sap.xss.menuargrp%3DSAPDEFAULTESS_ERP2005%26TRACKING_ID%3DOPEN%26EVENT%3DOPEN%26INITIATOR_ROLE%3DHRASRD%26sap.xss.menuarea%3DEMPLOYEE_BENEFITPAY_ERP2005%26sap.xss.menusrv%3DEMPLOYEE_BENEFITPAY_OPEN_ENROLLMENT05+++EMPLOYEE_BENEFITPAY_OPEN_ENROLLMENT05&NavigationContext=
    2. Adjustment Reason Enrollment (not working):
    http://<host name>.<domain name>: 50000/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=<b>ROLES%3A//ROLES%3A//</b>portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.roles/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_benefits_payment/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.enrollment&WebDynproNamespace=sap.com/ess~ben&WebDynproApplication=BenefitsApplication&DynamicParameter=sap-epcm-guid%3D4D41E649BB4A796AB2F164E866E090BB5F9145DB9BB7DE809A520C544A07CE53%26sap.xss.menuhdr%3DSAPDEFAULT%26sap-config-mode%3Dtrue%26sap.xss.menuargrp%3DSAPDEFAULTESS_ERP2005%26TRACKING_ID%3DGENERIC%26EVENT%3DSHREE%26INITIATOR_ROLE%3DHRASRD%26sap.xss.menuarea%3DEMPLOYEE_BENEFITPAY_ERP2005%26sap.xss.menusrv%3DEMPLOYEE_BENEFITPAY_GENERIC_ENROLLMENT05SHRE&NavigationContext=
I am seeing one extra //ROLES%3A in the second URL. When this part is removed in the second URL, the application is working fine.
I do not know where this another <b>//ROLES%3A</b> is generated. How to get rid of this extra thing from Portal URL generation.
If any body can throw some light on how the URL requests are generated in the portal, how they are directed to PRT, and how the requests are processed, that will be really helpful.
    I have gone through
<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d4/a5cf3d1b8b0239e10000000a11405a/frameset.htm">this help.sap.com page</a>. Still not clear on where the requests are generated.
Any inputs in this direction will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Abhishek,

  • ABAP Webservice J2EE engine

Can I develop ABAP webservices using without J2EE engine?  What are the limitations if not ?

  • Anybody explain ABAP client and J2ee engine?

    There are client 000,001,066.
But for J2ee Engine the client is in a different way.
What is the relationship of User data between ABAP client and J2ee Engine?
and tell me some inside about client copy? I have read some docs of help online, I 'd like more tech fact.

    Hello Shen,
First ground rule: ABAP stack can support mutiple clients while JAVA stack supports only one client at one given time. In terms of user master data you can have 1:1 relationship between ABAP client and corresponding J2EE client provided there is connection between ABAP and UME which normally is there as it configured during installation. So if a user exists in client X in ABAP you can also view it in client X of J2EE.
Regarding client copy what type of client copy are you asking about?
    Regards.
    Ruchit.

  • J2EE Engine

    Hi,
Explain me J2EE engine. If we deploy the Webdynpro-java application at the same time other one deploy the another application, which application take first and what is the procedure to deploy the applications, where we delete the deployed applications. If SDN shows red color what we do that and explain me SDN also and paths also.

The J2EE engine is the Engine which is going to deploy and execute the webdynpro applications. If only server instance is present and  no child instance is available for the J2EE engine, with this scenario if 2 applications are depolyed at the same time then the J2EE engine is going to process the request which comes first to it.And you are going to get an error saying that 'There are already active session' for the other application is deployed. The child instances are created to balance the load on the server.
IN J2EE ENGINE SDM is responsible for the deployment. It takes care of all the deployments from various NWDS.
You can configure the J2EE engine from your NWDS - systempreferences---j2ee engine and provide the details
SDN--system landscape directory is to list out all the systems implemented in the landscape.
You can create various 'Techincal systems' to identify the various heterogeneous systems implemented in the landscape.
    WEBAS-ABAP--- to identify the sap systems(like ECC,R3,BW,CRM)
WEBAS-JAVA---- to identify the j2ee engine.
    THIRDPARTY-----to identify the RDBMS sytem
    XI----
    to identify the XI system
If any queries then reply to the thread.

  • How to use the activation library on SAP J2EE Engine

    Hi my friends:
This post is referent to a note and their solution, but the solution is not clearly:
    Symptom:
One wants to use the activation library provided together with the j2ee engine from an own library.
    Reason and Prerequisites:
One wants to use the activation library from an own library but a ClassNotFound Exception or a NoClassDefFoundError keeps showing up.
    Solution:
    For J2EE Engine 6.30/6.40:
To avoid the above mentioned exceptions one has to specify circular references between the activation library and the specific resource. When the engine's classloading system sees such references it creates a common loader for these resources and avoids the issue.
Some one knows how to do circular references in my program????,
i can use web applications or web dynpro with SAP Developer Studio Kit.
