Reg EQUIPMENT History

Hi PPL,
I have a problem where , in the Notification IW32 in the Objects Tab when i
enter tha value of the Serial No and Material with the Notification No in the first line
and save it , the Service Order for the Notification does not appear in the Equipment - SERDATA - History.
Whereas when i enter the Serial No and the Material No in the first line of the Objects Tab and i enter the same serial No and the Material No in the Second Line of the Object Tab along with the Notification No , the corresponding Service Order appears in the SERDATA History of the Equipment.
What could be the Problem and How to rectify the Problem ?
I hav posted this question a couple of times in the forum and am yet to receive an
Guidance on how to resolve the Issue .I wud be very grateful for your Advice.

IEQM0003 Additional checks before updating equipment
IEQM0004 Object permitted for contract partner (Order -> Maintenance contract)
IEQM0005 Object permitted for SD contract (Maintenance contract -> Maintenance contract)
IEQM0006 Object permitted for SD contract (maintenance of maintenance contract)

Hello Experts,
I have a requirement from my client, that they would like to have an Equipment History based on there legacy system, where they would like to have a report comprising of Both Notifications and orders based on Equipment.
the out put should be the list of notification and orders with there Category, duration, list of operations and components issued(in orders), and reported by fields.

Hi,
The report details can be seen in standard SAP. If you see in the menu option after executing IW38 or IW39 etc you have option of selecting multiple level reports, and goods movement reports etc.
As you were asking relavent to equipment then you have to filter the output report and then just go to multi level reports.
The details you were asking will not be available in single screen except in multi level reports. Here also you have choice to create variant.

Change of Equipment History - PM

In SAP ECC 6.0 release note, shows as an improvement :
16.4.2.2 Change of Equipment History (New)
As of SAP ECC 6.0 (SAP_APPL 600), you can make back-dated changes to the equipment history. In
the process, the following data is taken into consideration and corrected:
- Equipment master data and equipment history
- Definition of the measurement reading transfer and adjustment of the corresponding measurement
documents
- Notifications that affect installation, removal, and exchange.
Do someone know in which transaction i can see this ???

for changing the equipment history there are 3 phases
1Replace the actual history with the target history
2Create the relationships for the measurement reading transfer(automatically done by system)
3Adjust the notifications
for first phase you have to create a target history using IEQCM1 and replace the actual history with the target history

Get Equipment History

Hi,
I am looking for a BAPI or function module to get the equipment history, basically the same way as when we click extras-->display changes and it gives all the changes made with date, time and old and new values of the change made. This is urgent and any help would be greatly appreciated and rewarded.

what I have mentioned is to insert Serial data tab in Equipment Master.
To insert the Serial Data tab, you have to go to Menu bar,(ie02) select EDIT----
>VIEW SELECTION
This will open up a small window and there you will find a check box to select/deselect. There you have to select the Check Box against SER DATA.
Then only you will get Serial data tab.
As Mr.Thiyagarajan mentioned, you should create a Material Number and a Serial Number using MM01. Then only you will get the HISTORY Button in Serial Data tab.

Lets take an example of EQUI table...
Here if suppose, we have 2 key fields MANDT(100) and EQUI(000000000000011010),
then in the query to CDHDR table we have to concatenate the key field values
OBJECTCLAS --> Concatenate MANDT AND EQUI (100000000000000011010)
OBJECTID --> EQUI (for Equipments)
You can use the additional fields like user name, date and time you know them.....

Equipment History report ( imorove performance)

Hi all,
My requirement is to pull the equipment history report based on the valid from date field and user status
I also have selection screen parameters as
Vaid from date field v_equi-datab.
functional location v_equi-tplnr
technician id v_equi-TIDNR
Partner ihpa-parnr.
my problem is fetching data from v_equi is taking long time as im not using any key field or hitting index on the tables.
Is there any better way to pull the history data based on valid from date.
Please let me know if you need more info

I have coded it that way just using datab in where condition.
i wanted to know if there is any other better way to pull the data.
Will it help creating index on datab field.

Combining Equipment history

I hope one of you experts can suggest a solution for us.
Our company operates with several mining sites that swap equipment back and forth from time to time. When we switched one plant over to SAP we inadvertently input a piece of equipment from another site into the system as new. Now we have two histories for these multi million dollar pieces of equipment.
Is there a way to combine the two separate histories for these? Are there other options you can suggest?

I have some clarity issues in your post. The line 'When we switched one plant over to SAP' indicates that one mining site among your several such, has been recently implemented SAP. If it is true, then the line 'Combining two separate histories' indicates a requirement of importing the Equipment History from the Legacy system to SAP system. This is a natural requirement during SAP implementations. SAP has tools such as LSMW or ABAP to develop BDC program for such data migration. If this is the case exactly, then for future implementations (SAP in other mining sites) you should better opt for a single maintenance plant, having these sites as Functional locations. In such case this Equipment can be easily dismantled from one place and put in other without any history issues.
On the other side, if your case is like, already having SAP implemented in several mining sites (plants) and you have created New equipment for the same physical entity in other plants, then see this thread to know how to transfer Equipment between two maint plants:Move equipment from one plant to another. This will continue the same history of the equipments. If this case is true, you can take help of the tools mentioned above for combining the histories created separately for few days so far. In this process obviously you need to discard few new equipments created.

Reg PO history

In EKBE table contains bewtp(PO history category). It contains the value of 'E' 'U', 'L', but i couldn't understand, where can i get the full abbreviation of that field.

How to find it is as below
1. Check table for the feild BEWTP is T163B.
2. Double click on T163B.
3. In the table you dont find any feild for the description, so check for text table , path for that is Goto--> Text Table , this will take you to another table which will contain the description.

Sorry for the late reply but try these steps:
1. go to SQVI transaction.
2. Enter "QuickView" name
3. click "Create"
4. Enter "Title" & "Comments"
5. In "data source" select table join.
6. Select layout mode (radio button) and press enter
7. Job defination screen will appear.
8. Click insert table (Shift + F1)
9. Select ur table name (AFKO), again insert table and select table (AFVC), again select table (VIQMEL)
System will automatically find the link between these tables
10. Go back (F3). on the left hand side (data fields) you will find the table names.
11. Expand the tables and select the variables you want in your report ie. for input fields tick respective selection fields and for o/p fields (report output) tick from list fields.
12. click on execute button.....
After selection of the appropiate i/p and o/p fields ask you ABAPER to create a tcode for this program......
THIS WILL HELP U IN GENERATING VARIOUS TYPES OF REPORTS IN FUTURE

Yes, there is business content for Fixed Assets. Please review the Fixed Assets section in the business content in RSA1.

It is important to note that SAP is theoretically planning on updating some of the business content, but they have not discussed which will be updated first. I suspect that Fixed Asset reporting will be low in the list of priorities. Most BW reporting is done for large numbers of users. Fixed Asset reporting is typically done by a small group of accountants, and many companies do not implement it.
FWIW, it's never a good business practice to implement a BW reporting tool for only one or two users when there is a fully functional report in SAP that fits all of their needs. It's a waste of resources that can better serve a larger population of end users and present a better value to the business.

Manual transaction for an equipment

i have the following problem query
1. one equipment is installed at custimer A
2. i do a manual transaction ' to stock' and remove the equipment from customer and delete partner names from equipment master data.
3. i do another manual transaction ' to customer' and put the equipment in another customer B and put new partner details in equipment master data.
4. when i go to IH10 and give the equipment number, i see three entries for the equipment but all showing custober B with different validity dates.
i wish to see history of the equipment when i give only the equipment number in IH10. where am i going wrong??
please help.

Koustav,
I think in the equipment category you are using you have only included partners. In addition to partners there are also fields such as "Customer", "Operator", "End customer" etc.. And these are linked to the sold-to party. In fact to the best of my knowledge you can also customize which partner function value you wish to copy into these fields. I am not able to confirm this immediately because I don't have immediate access to a SAP system.
Anyway, the history is maintained only for these standard fields such as customer, end customer etc. And I don't think we can include partner codes into history relevant fields. However, if you have not included these "Customer", "Operator", "End customer" etc fields yet you can do that for your equipment category now. And then any changes you make to the partner function will reflect into these fields and hence will be maintained in the equipment history.

Equipment with no location or account assignment data

Hi experts,
In our solution, we are using equipment records without functional locations or account assignments. Yet I still see records for each equipment in ILOA with a new account assignment number (ILOAN). Is this standard SAP or is there a way (in config maybe) to avoid the automatic creation of these records in ILOA.
EQUZ contains a record for each equipment with a difference ILOAN as well.

Paula,
A new ILOA record is created for the equipment each time you change the Location data. This then used as part of the equipment history (usage list, change logs, etc).
Certain fields can be configured (via IMG) to create new records.
If you don't change these fields, then it won't create new ILOA records. Therefore you will have one ILOA record for each EQUI/EQUZ record.
There is nothing much you can do about this without modifying SAP standard code. And in any case it would be unwise since we do not know the knock-on effects. Nor do you know if you may need this functionality in the future...
Many clients have millions of equipment records, each with multiple ILOA records. This should not affect the system if it is "sized" correctly...

Hi,
Could not diagonise from this stack trace alone. But what doubt is that there is something wrong with cardinality in your web service. Otherwise something may have gone wrong like you mishandling a list or some mismatch like that.
