Reg : Pagination in adf using JDev 11.1.1.6

Hi ,
I have a requirement of displaying table data.
My table consists of 100 records.
I should not display the entire records at once.
I should use pagination.
Can any one suggest me how to do pagination in 11.1.1.6.
Thanks & Regards :
Pramila Padam

Hi,
by default the table in ADF Faces pages data queries in that you scroll. So the table will only query enough records to fill the table visible view. If this information is enough to destroy your performance concerns then there is nothing for you to do.
If not, have you tried Google? What about this ? http://andrejusb.blogspot.de/2011/05/oracle-adf-11g-custom-table-pagination.html

  • Any one used ADF+BC+JDEV with other databases like MySQL

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
    i used Jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 and OC4J standalone 10.1.3.1.0
it looks like that BC+ADF faces just works fine with ORACLE database because two days i stocked with running JDEV+BC+ADF faces with a mysql or Derby databse.
I tried with both embeded oc4j and i copy the mysql jdbc driver and also derby jdbc driver to
    j2ee/home/lib
    j2ee/home/alib
so there should be no problem as far as i worked with other apps.
then i create a library for each of those drivers in Jdeveloper to be able to create BC from tables.
I create a war deployment profile to be able to deploy the application to StanAlone OC4j
All i get when i tried to run the jsf file with embeded OC4J is like :
    500 Internal Server Error
JBO-30003: The application pool (adfT.AppModuleLocal) failed to checkout an application module due to the following exception:

and all i get when i tried to run it with standalone OC4J is :
    500 Internal Server Error
Servlet error: Security sensitive exception occured. Please consult application log for details. for standalone OC4J i enter the administration console and test the connection pool that IDE created during deployment and it was ok when i test the connection pool / datasource.
so , What is the problem ? can please some one help me on this ?
I tried the same scenario with ORACLE 10G and it works fine.
    so my questions are :
1-does OC4J 10.1.3.1.0 has problem with none oracle databases?
2-does BC that come with Jdev has problem with none oracle database ?
3-am i wrong in one of my steps ?
please some one give me some hints

OK, thanks to Peter Hanusiak, and Oracle Consulting consultant in Slovakia, I have resolved my issue and I'm hoping that the same solution may apply for you. See below for the instructions from Peter that helped me out. Note that since our applications are different, the specific libraries and locations that you need to confirm compatibility for may be different.
    Hope this helps,
    Dave
I had similar problem. And in my case it was caused by different ADF from JDev and SOA Suite and SOA order booking demo.
Because I can't test it now, I'll tell just what I remember.
In SOADEMO is somewhere folder SOADEMO-CLIENT\UserInterface\public_html\WEB-INF\lib
    where you can find
    adf-faces-impl.jar
    jsf-impl.jar
Try to find exactly the same libs in Jdev and copy&paste from Jdev to SOADEMO folder. then find the libs in SOASuite, and copy&paste from Jdev to SOA Suite those libs. Restart SOA Suite. Deploy Soademo-Client. And hopefully it will work.

  • Pagination in adf

    Hi All,
I want to achive pagination is adf how can i achive this.
    Regards,
    Smaran

    Have you searched the forum?
By the way you should give more detail like jdev version and use case. If you use adf rich faces the table component does not use the old pagination method any more. They use a scroll mode.

  • How to use webservice using Jdev

    Hi All,
Could some one please point me to a tutorial and let me know how to consume a webservice using Jdev.
Scenario is, I want to extract data from Webserice which will be given by other department using Jdev.
This will have basic authentication as well.
I have created a Webservice client and Proxy and provided the WS URL, it is creating several files using Jax-WS Style.
Now I want to test this webservice client, if its working fine and able to send us the data.
    Thanks

  • ADF Faces (JDev 10.1.3): How to support the Back Button

    Hi,
when I scroll through a result set, rendered as a input form with navigation buttons, then use the browsers back button and then try to go to the next row using the 'next' navigation button, I always get an exception: JBO-29000, JBO-35007, JBO-25013
The sample application was build using JDev 10.1.3, ADF Faces and Business Components.
I have read through the new Oracle Dev Guide and found some parameters concerning state management and tested different settings. The most promising setting:
    <context-param>
    <param-name>javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD</param-name>
    <param-value>client</param-value>
    </context-param>
    <context-param>
    <param-name>oracle.adf.view.faces.CLIENT_STATE_METHOD</param-name>
    <param-value>all</param-value>
    </context-param>
Regardless of which setting I used, an exception was prompted.
    My questions:
Are there addtional settings to configure to make an ADF Faces app 'back button' agnostic?
Is it an ADF Faces or a JSF problem?
What are your experience and how do you solve the problem?
I have no idea how to solve the problem.
    Any hints are welcome!
    Thanks,
    Markus

    Hi Marcus,
we had the same problem in UIX (JDeveloper version 10.1.2) and the official stance of Oracle (we had created a TAR on metalink) was that it was a general webapplication problem and not 'supported' by ADF.
We created a solution by creating a filter that checks a sequence number in the pages. Each page request was checked and the sequence was increased. The <form> on the pages needed to send the sequence with each request.
If the user used the backbutton then the sequence would be out of order. We would redirect the user to an error page and rollback the complete model.
This was our base solution. What we also tried was to use the passivation mechanism of the application module (of Business Components) we would save a snapshot after the rendering of each page and if the user used the back button and the sequence was out of order we would rollback the application module to that snapshot. However after a COMMIT you cannot rollback ofcourse and it gave us some troubles.
We finally sticked with the base solution and gave the user buttons in the application to go 'back'.

  • No registered window for:w0 error using Jdev 11.1.2.4.0

    Hi,
We are using JDev 11.1.2.4.0 version. We have created an ADF application and deployed it to weblogic server 10.3.5.0.
When we run the application in IE 9 "No registered window for:w0" error appears in the logs. But for IE8 there is no such error. For mozilla 13 also there is no such error in the logs. Any pointers to it.

    Hi,
I think you will have to run this through customer support (if you have a support contract) because I don't remember a discussion about such a problem here on OTN. May be mistaken though. The error sounds like a failure in the ADF Faces windowing manager

  • Manual pagination in adf tables

    Hie
I am using jdev 11g latest. The way adf rich tables show more records via auto scroll is awesome..
Though I am looking a way to do the same old style that is a table with 4 links in header/footer first prev next last to load another set of records.
    How can i do that?
    Vik

I've tried to contact Oracle for this question. The answer from Oracle is: there is no official way to have an old paging style in ADF 11g.
I think you have to do it manually.

  • Reliable file upload using JDev, AS and other

    Hello,
I'm not sure this is the right place to post this message, sorry if I was wrong to put it here.
The question is our company is developing software, for active data exchange with other systems. We decided to exchange in xml format, by means of both web services and web interface (so that exchange could happen both automatically and on user request). We use JDev to develop, Oracle AS to deploy application. Systems we exchange can use various platforms, in fact, it doesn't matter what exactly they use. The question is we need a reliable way to exchange large (sometimes small, but can be 1Gb or, for example, 10Gb) files, maybe with appropriate security, so that it could continue if something happens with network connection.
One simple decision is to have a web service that accepts, for example, 100K at a time, and another service continuously calls it until file is transfered. So it can check response code. But are there better decisions? I think, there are libraries or smth like this?
Thanks in advance, believe, it's a right place to get help.
    Valeriy

Another, simpler (we think), such package is Jenkov HTTP Multipart File Upload. It's a servlet filter which can work in front of both servlets and JSP's. The servlet filter parses the uploaded file and stores it temporarily on the servers disk. When the servlet or JSP executes afterwards, it can obtain all the information about the file, from the request attributes. There is a decent manual for HTTP Multipart File Upload on the website.
Just search for "Jenkov HTTP Multipart" on Google and you'll find it. HTTP Multipart is free, open source, Apache Licsense.

  • How to get user ID and password in ADF using code?

    Hi,
I am using JDev 10.1.3.3 with BC. Security is in OID (user and password) / JAZN.
I am able to get the user ID, using getUserPrincipalName(),
but how to get the password?
I need to pass in a connection string to the Oracle Report Server to run a Oracle report.
    Thanks,

You can get the password by attributeBindings.getterMethodforPassword() where getter Method for Password field is created in your backing bean.
But there is no defined method like getUserPrincipalName() for getting Password.

  • Urgent!! Pagination in ADF 11g..

    Hi,
May i know how we can set pagination in ADF 11g? In OAF there was a table property for number of columns.
Can anyone help me on this.
    Thanks

You are talking about ADF rich table?
There is no pagination in adf rich tables. They fetch the data when needed.
You define the hight of the table and the fetch size of the iterator. The fetch size of the iterator should be greater or equal then the number of row visable in the UI. The the visible part of the table is loaded in one call to the server-
If your table hight can show 50 rows at once and you set the fetch size of the iterator to 10 it just means the table goes 5 times to the server to fill up and then show all rows.
If you only want to see a portion of the available rows you have to reduce the hight of the table in the UI to only hold as much rows as you want.

  • Using JDev to easily modify XML Stylesheets (.xsl)

    Hi all -
I'm new to JDev and XML, and am trying to modify the standard PO form from EBS/BI Publisher. Since there's a default .xsl that is close to my requirement, I thought it might be faster to modify it, rather than start over w/ creating an .rtf. I simply need to add some fields which already exist in my .xsd file.
I have a .xml, .xsd, and .xsl files. My question...is it possible to use JDev to easily update my .xsl so that I can see my updates with new data in real time as I develop? Can anyone point me in the direction of some documentation that explains how to setup the JDev Project to connect to a DB and use these xml files together? I've tried using WYSIWIG 3rd-party tools in the hopes of accomplishing this task in a design-like view. No luck.
I hate to recreate the wheel, but if I don't get somewhere soon, I'm going to have to go the .rtf route.
Thanks in advance for your repsonses.

Are you just looking for an easy way to see the result of running XSL on your XML doc?
If so just right click run on your XSL (or go to project properties->Run/Debug configuration->edit -> XML ) and you'll have a place to specify the files involved in the translation. You can also use debug mode.
