Reg: removing business partner

Hi Experts,
Can you tell me is there any Standard bapi for deleting business partner,
iam created business partner using standard interface BAPI_BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA.
now i want remove that field using standard bapi only,
i found one bapi ,that is removing address info(BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_REMOVE)...
please let me know is there any bapi for removing businesspartner ..
and tell me mandatory fields for that bapi...
please respond urgent.......

Hi,
the usage of the "UpdateWithSubDeletion" method of B1 object atom might be an option.
You need to update the complete business Partner with the changed amount of addresses.
The usage is tricky, you need to retrieve the BP, which you want to update, first via synchronous retrieval method using import/export mode.
From the retrieval result you should start to update every segment with all fields including the BPAddresses segment in exactly the same sorting order as displayed from the synchronous retrieval.

Unable to remove business partner catalog numbers

Hello,
I have created a business partner catalog number for one item.
Now I want to remove that catalog number but it is not possible.
I have tried to remove the catalog number over the menu item "Data" and the function "Remove".
I get the positive system message "Operation completed successfully" but the catalog number is still there.
Any idea?

Hi,
I have tried the same in my database. It works fine. We can remove the Business Partner Catelog Number from the Item Master for any item eventhough we have performed transactions in that item.
Try once again to remove the BPCN. if it fails, please try to inform SAP and they will solve this bug immediately.

The scenario is by mistake i created the wrong business partner and put the opening balance with the help of A/P Invoice but i want to remove that Business partner its not allowing me to do that and i have also created the credit Memo of that Business partner to reconcile the amount so now the Business Partner amount is zero but still its not allowing me to remove the Business partner

in version 8.8 you can set the BP as 'inactive' & then it will not be shown in the choose from list. Please see SAP Note [1411244|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1411244].

If you have created a Sales Quotation or for that matter any document for the Business Partner you are trying to delete, you cannot delete the Business Partner from the database.
As transaction and document is linked to the BP, then you cannot delete it.

I am not too sure if anyone can DELETE a Payment Term linked to a BP. The system would not allow this. If at all a Payment term was deleted, I don't think it can be traced.
It is therefore very important to use Proper user authorization so that only people authorized to do certain things are doing it and not everyone.

Goto transaction CRMD_PROF_BP. Search for the attribute set you want to delete. Double click on it and in the next screen enter the business partner number and click on delete assignment button on the tool bar.
An alternative method for mass deletion:
Use TCode: CRMD_MKT_TOOLS. In there, select Deletion of an attribute for all BP Assignments
Reward ipoints if this helps.

Remove of contacts, addresses, ... of a business partner with B1if

I wrote a scenario to synchronize business partners between 2 companies.
When i try to remove contacts, addresses, payment installments, bank accounts of a business partner,
these records are not removed in the target company
So, no removement of contacts, addresses, ...
Has somebody already made a scenario which is able to remove contacts, addresses, ... ?

Hi Mario,
Currently there is no possibility to remove a line from a collection inside an object through XML with the DI API. From B1 8.82 on you will be able to remove a line inside of a collection for Business Partners and Documents by using a new XML method called UpdateFromXML available on that objects. Please have a look to the SDK Help File for B1 8.82 for more information about it.
Inside B1if there is a workaround that has been implemented but this workaround only works when you create an extra atom containing a B1 object call. When you defined the B1 object call you can specify the usage of the method "updateWithSubDeletion" for BPs and "updateDocWithSubDeletion" for Documents in order to remove a line in a collection. The workaround for documents remove all lines and add them again. For BPs it seems there are some limitations. Please have a look at it and let me know any feedback, it is a workaround while the new SDK method wasn't available.
Regarding the new SDK feature released in 8.82 there is no exact information regarding the B1if patch level that will include that feature to be used automatically in a B1 outbound call. I'll let you know as soon as I have more information around it.

the system writes a where-used list for this address.This reference is a link between the address and the sent document. We can only delete the address when this link no longer exists.

thus linked with a central person (and therefore cannot be archived).

Without deleting transactional data. I guess you mean without deleting all the data from de cubes. But you want to get rid of the transactional data of BP type "C".
Go to the manage screen of the cube involved.
Go to the tab 'Contents'
click on the button 'Selective Deletion' (right-side at the bottom)
On the pop-up click on the button 'Delete selections'
Fill in type 'C'
Start the job.

Business Partner records with large numbers of addresses -- Move-in issue

Our recent CCS implementation (ECC6.0ehp3 & CRM2007) included the creation of some Business Partner records with large numbers of addresses. Most of these are associated with housing authorities, large developers and large apartment complex owners. Some of the Business Partners have over 1000 address records and one particular BP has over 6000 addresses that were migrated from our Legacy System. We are experiencing very long run times to try to execute move in's and move out's due to the system reading the volume of addresses attached to the Business Partner. In many cases, the system simply times out before it can execute the transaction. SAP's suggestion is that we run a BAPI to cleanse the addresses and also to implement a BADI to prevent the creation of excess addresses.
Two questions surrounding the implementation of this code. Will the BAPI to cleanse the addresses, wipe out all address records except for the standard address? That presents an issue to ensure that the standard address on the BP record is the correct address that we will have identified as the proper mailing address. Second question is around the BADI to prevent the creation of excess addresses. It looks like this BADI is going to prevent the move in address from updating the standard address on the BP record which in the vast majority of cases is exactly what we would want.
Does anyone have any experience with this situation of excess BP addresses and how did you handle the manipulation and cleansing of the data and how do you maintain it going forward?
Our solution is ECC6.0Ehp3 with CRM2007...latest patch level
Specifically, SAP suggested we apply/review these notes:
Note 1249787 - Performance problem during move-in with huge addresses

Directly from our SAP message:
use the function module
BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_REMOVE or run BAPI_ISUPARTNER_CHANGE to delete
unnecessary business partner addresses.
Use BAdI ISU_MOVEIN_CUSTOMIZE to avoid the creation of unnecessary
business partner addresses (cf. note 706686) in the future for that
business partner.

One thing to understand is that the badi and bapi are just the tools or mechanisms that will enable you to fix this situation. You or your development team will need to define the rules under which these tools are used. Lets take them one at a time.
BAPI - the bapi for business partner address maintenance. It would seem that you need to create a program which first read the partners and the addresses assigned to them and then compares these addresses to each other to find duplicate addresses. These duplicates then can be removed provided they are not used elsewhere in the system (i.e. contract account).
BADI - the badi for business partner address maintenance. Here you would need to identify the particular scenarios where addresses should not be copied. I would expect that most move-ins would meet the criteria of adding the address and changing the standard address. But for some, i.e. landlords or housing complexes, you might not add an address because it already exists for the business partner, and you might not change the standard address because those accounts do not fall under that scenario. This will take some thinking and design to ensure that the address add/change functions are executed under the right circumstances.

FSCM-COL Business Partner Creation for Existing Customers

Experts-
After using MDS_LOAD_COCKPIT to create the initial load of Business Partners, there are a few Customers which are still missing Business Partners. Automatic Creation of Business Partners is set up and fully functioning for any new Customers created, however when attempting to use MDS_LOAD_COCKPIT for the existing Customers which are missing Business Partners the error message 'No transfer of interval for object BU_PARTNER' (Message no. NR028) is received.
If the Automatic Creation of Business Partners is working correctly at the time of Customer Master creation, what would prevent the Business Partner from being created after the Customer already exists?
Please let me know if further clarification is needed on what is outlined above.

In case someone runs into a similar issue in the future, the resolution to this issue is provided below:
In the case I've highlighted the customer had been created, yet the Business Partner failed to be created in the Automatic Business Partner Creation functionality initially due to a missed Tax Number Category configuration. Once this configuration was complete the BP still failed to create via XD02 or MDS_LOAD_COCKPIT. MDS_PPO2 gave the initial error message as 'Business partner ##1 does not exist' (Message no. R1201).
Although the Customer to BP synchronization setting were set up for an external number range, the presence of contact persons in the Customer Master record were causing SAP to look for grouping data. Since no grouping data was present SAP was attempting to create BPs contact persons using the internal number range, which was already set at its limit.
By removing the contact persons from the customer master via XD02 and then re-executing the MDS_LOAD_COCKPIT, the requested Business Partner was created. After that the contact persons were then re-maintained in the customer master.

Go to XD06 and check whether customer 1000 is marked for deletion under Company Code and Sales Area (Sales Organization + Distribution Channel + Division). If yes then remove it and then check.

Business Partner Address not populating

Hi,
The Business partner address field is not getting populated properly. We did a full load last week and still we could not see those addresses for certain business partners. However we were able to see the addresses in RSA3 and PSA too but not in the InfoObject. Can anyone throw a light on this issue. Anything will be highly appreciated.

Hi,
As the data is getting populated successfully till PSA there should be no problem with the datasource.
Now, if you are using 3.X, then check for the transfer rules and update rules also check whether
any routines have been implemented and check the routine for any logic implemented in filtering/hiding/removing the address data. Try to debug the same using "simulate update" option over any datapackage.
If you are using 7.0 then check in the transformation for the mapping of fields or any routines implemented in
filtering/hiding/removing the address.

Business Partner creation - Sales Area Data retrieves blank divisions

During business partner creation, the sales area data assignment block will retrieve a list of all relevant sales organizations, distribution channels, and divisions that are replicated from ECC. This is working fine. However, it also adds to this list with the sales organizations, distribution channels, and blank divisions. Blank divisions do not exist in either ECC or CRM. It appears to be using the dummy division settings, but I have attempted to configure with the indicator "CRM Header Div. Active" as both active and inactive, to no effect. The only time I have been able to condense this list into a single line has been when I actually activated dummy divisions -- to which CRM would now retrieve only sales organizations, distribution channels, and blank divisions. This is not an ideal solution either.
How do I get the system to remove the blank divisions from being displayed? It is very confusing to the users, not to mention polluting the screen.
Example (both are being displayed, I only want the one with an actual value to be displayed):
Sales Org = 1000, Dist Chan = 10, Division = blank
Sales Org = 1000, Dist Chan = 10, Division = 10
