Regarding 56 strategy

Hi Everybody,
In my company we are using strategy 56 ( Characteristics Planning). we are having an issue while doing ATP check in sales order...
Material type is FERT ( marked as Configurable in Basic Data 2 view) and assigned 56 strategy to it and we are maintaining stock for it.
When we create a sales order for this part and when we do ATP check, system is showing 0 quantity eventhough we are maintaining stock for it, i think this is becoz of strategy 56.
My question is there a way to do ATP check and find the stock? How to configure the strategy 56, in order to fullfill the above requirement?
Did anybody dealt with this kind of situation? It's very urgent guys.. your valuable help will be appreciated...
Thanks,
Kanth

Hi Sriram,
I maintained Checking Group in MRP3 view and stock type for the material is Unrestricted use stock.
The issue is: If i maintain the stock as Sales Order Stock, it's binded to that particular sales order.. and if i do the ATP check for another sales order how can i process it?
These where iam struggling with.. We want to maintain the stock at generic level and if we get any sales order, is it possible to assign the stock to Sales Order?
Plz let me know whether i can configure any new strategy type.. or do i have to create any program to execute when we enter sales order...
Thanks,
Kanth

  • Strategy 82

    Hi experts,
I have an issue regarding strategy 82.
    I have a material FERT8 and a component ROH24. 1 piece of FERT8 is made of 1 piece of ROH24.
I created planned independent requirement in MD61 for ROH24 and run MD02 for ROH24. I procured 1000 pieces of ROH24 using planned orders created from the MRP run.
Now, I tried to create a sales order for 10 pieces of FERT8. Strategy 82 is expected to directly create a production order when we try to save the sales order. I am not able to save the created production order as I get an error message regarding lack of components in the concerned storage location. I do have 1000 pieces of ROH24 in the concerned storage location.
Could you please resolve this issue?
Thank you very much for your time

    Dear Sethu,
If I remember correctly, then in planning strategy 82,generally the system plans the components with
special stock indicator 1 - individual customer stock.
Now at the time of sales order creation since the system will automatically create the production order
and there wont be any customer specific stock for the components, then in this case in T.Code OPJK,for
the order type(PP04 default) and checking rule combination for business function 1 you can set the
indicator for no check for material availability and proceed.

  • Strategy - Maintenance Plan - IP42

    Hello All,
I have a query regarding "strategy" in Maintenance Plan IP42.
    1) Need to understand the strategy field in transaction IP42 and whats its impact.
    2) Also need to know how we can configure new strategies.
    Best Regards
    Himanshu

    Hi Himanshu,
You can have single cycle plan as well as the Strategy Plan.
in the single cycle plan you can have only one cycle for all the operations which are defined in the task list, where as in the startegy plan you can have different cycles for all the operations in the Task list but make sure the startegy should be same in the task list and in the Strategy Plan(IP42).
Example you have a Strategy define in the unit of days in the T-Code IP11 and you have define different cycles like 7days, 15 days, 30 days, 60 days Etc.
now you are using the same Strategy in the General Task list IA05, and you have operations as 10,20,30,40,50,60........and so on.
In this condition when you are in the header of the Task list, you can find the staretgy field where you give in the same startegy defined in IP11.
then in the operations screen you can see an Icon at the bottom named as "MntPack", this is for maintenance package, if you will click here you can understand that all your operations can be assigned to 1 or more packages, for which they will be called in the Maintenance orders.
Now time to create the Strategy Maintenance Plan, now u use the T-code IP42and give in the same startegy as defined earlier and go ahead with the different entries, here if you will choose the correct Task list the system will accept and if suppose the Strategy of the task list does not matches with the startegy of the maintenance plan, the system will throw an error
Hope you can get a better idea.

  • Upgrade SAP from ECC 6.0 EHP4 to ECC 6.0 EHP7

    Dear all,
We are using ECC 6 ERP 4 SP5 with oracle 10.2g and Netweaver 7.0 EHP1.
    Other system release
    CRM 7.0 SP5 & CRM JAVA Release – NW 701 SP3
    BI Release – NW 701 SP5 BI CONT 7.04 & BI JAVA Release – NW 701 SP3
We are planning to upgrade ECC 6 ERP4 SP5 to ERP 6 ERP7 SP1, Could you please suggest for compatibility version for CRM & BI with ECC6 EHP7
And any document for EHP7 up gradation procedure and what is the impact or change made in system after upgrade from EHP4 to EHP7
    Regards,
    Ajay

    Hello
The nightmare is going on... this point has been discussed a year ago (Re: Comapatability between EHP7 and SAP Netweaver BI 7.0 EHP1) and the conclusion was that you only need to upgrade HUB satellite systems... and a BW system is not an HUB.
The only possible issue would be if the java stack of the BW system is used directly by the ECC system.
Did not find any information on the necessity to upgrade the CRM, so I think you should keep it as it is.
This are even getting worst because sometime sap support (OSS) are not able to provide clear answers (Interoperability btw ERP 6.0 EhP7 and SAP NW/BW 7.0)
    Best regards
Strategy beyond SAP Business Suite 7 Innovations 2011 - Landscape Governance - SCN Wiki
1388258 - Version Interoperability within the SAP Business Suite
In order to use the new JAVA EE 5 capabilities and benefit from the improvements of SAP NW 7.3 the version interoperability range has been moved upwards for SAP Business Suite core applications with Release to Customer (RTC) from 2013 onwards.
This means that SAP NetWeaver Systems 7.30 or higher are required if SAP Business Suite applications are based on or operating with those central Systems (Enterprise Portal, Business Warehouse, Process Integration).
Customers wishing to utilize SAP Business Suite applications with RTC from 2013 onwards, that require one of these central SAP NetWeaver Systems, will have to upgrade their central NetWeaver Systems to 7.30 or higher before upgrading e.g. to SAP Enhancement Package 7 for SAP ERP 6.0.

  • Make to stock stratey 10

    Hi,
I have read points regarding Strategy 10 from one of member,
    Key Points:
    1. Sales Order does not Influence the Production.
    2. Stock will be considered during MRP Run.
    3. PIR is reduced @ Goods Issue for the Delivery. (SD-PGI).
    4. If Production Orders Display in MD04 Screen (Both Production Order stock and Stock will be consider in MRP run)
But when I create sales order with Rety KSL, it get consider in MRP run and planned order is generated for this sales order which should not as per strategy 10.
May be I am making mistake somewhere,so could you please guide me in this case.

    Dear Lalit,
As forum members have provided info on Strategy - 10
i want to share one point
Stock will be considered during MRP Run.
in Strategy - 10, system considers ware house stock whereas
in Strategy - 11, system will not consider ware house stock ( gross requirments planning)

  • On-Demand/On-Cloud vs On-premise or HybriD ?? What next..

    Hi CRM Enthusiasts
A short intro about me, graduated in IT and joined one of SAP Consultancy firm back in 2006. And from there I was involved in numerous CRM implementations across the globe. So my forte is SAP CRM & Middleware, and light on ECC modules.
I started on SAP CRM 4.0  back then, and from then to now, things have evolved slowly but in a good way surely.
Now, as part of my job profile, I am responsible for designing the CRM architecture and action plan for next 5 years for my current employer. Its fascinating how things got changed in past one year or so, like Hybris acquisition, this came as a shocker as many of the companies did a huge amount investment in WCEM including mine, there are definitely pro-cons comparing WCEM with Hybris (Its not all  about look and feel) I believe. And I want to believe that this investment is worthwhile.
Coming to a point now, what next ? We have got CRM on-premise and there is not much of it used today in our business, but there is huge opportunity to CRM to grow here. So is it worth building the blocks of Marketing, Sales, Interaction Centre on CRM 7.0 or should we start investing our resources On-cloud/On-demand SAP Cloud for Customer solutions. If it’s later, what are the limitation when compare to on-premise, I know this question is very wide, but for me and I guess, everyone out there need to know, how quickly and when we can get all the functionalities of on-premise with on-cloud or is theew an interim Hybrid solution integrating On-cloud (front end) with On-premise ??? What is the transition strategy of SAP ?? What happens to On-premise Customers ?? How secure is On-cloud?
There was a lot of buzz of this in Sapphire 2014, is Cloud the next big thing ?? If yes,  can we have a SAP road map  for this solution and how much will this solution support when compared to CRM on-premise solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers
    MMM

    Hi MMM,
Yes this product from SAP is indeed beautiful. You should also learn about SAP JAM in case you're not aware.. SAP JAM would definitely erase all earlier notions that SAP products can't look sexy
Regarding strategy of SAP, with the amount of time Cloud solutions are getting in SAPPHIRE, I can guess that the product is here to stay & SAP is coming out with new features & industry specific modules on a quick pace..
Now coming to your query on using C4C as a standalone solution.. Yes it can be used provided you utlise marketing features only.. For sales, it would lead to opportunity win/loss stage & for service tickets, it would end as "work completion"
Unlike SAP CRM, you cannot create sales/service orders or create invoices in C4C.. This is a 'line of business' solution.. Now the "popular CRM cloud solution" I talked about before also can't make invoices or sales orders except maybe through apps which needs to be customised & configured.
I had a query on CRM, while invoices are created, is financial settlement also taken care by SAP CRM on-premise or you need to integrate with ERP Fi-CO?
Now coming to your last query on SAP C4C for customers who aren't in SAP landscape. We specificaly did an integration with non sap BW for a major chemical company using middleware and the results are quite good.. I'll encourage you to go through several blogs posted by mentors which can help you to understand C4C capabilities.. I found this document to be quite useful.

    Rahul

  • Regarding clearing strategy in FI-CA

    Hello...
This is pertaining to clearing strategy in FI-CA, when customer pays an extra amount against invoice it should go as payment on account but it is getting adjusted against next debit line item (i.e installments due for future dates).
Our requirement is, it should not adjust against next debit line item due but show as payment on account.
Request you all to share your views for the same.
    Regards,
    Mitesh Sureliya.

    Hi Mitesh,
The clearing depends on your Clearing Variant. Please check the customizing clearing Variant in SPRO-Financial accounting-Contract A/C -ARAP-Basic Functions-Open Item Mgmt-Clearing Control-Clearing Variants-Define Clrng Variant.
First you need to check the variant assigned to Clearing type-05 under above path but clicking-Define specification for Clearing Types-Define defaults for Incoming payment.
Once you find the clearing variant, go to the above said Clearing control menu path and check the clearring steps like Grouping/Sorting/Grouping Rule/End of Clearing steps and make necessary changes to suit your requirement.
    Hope this helps. Thank you.
    Best Regards,

    2. can we keep log of KPIs, store them, keep report of feedback/action taken on that?
    3. Does Scorecard and strategy management have ability to retain history on feedback and log of
    entries i.e. date/time, user name?
    4. Does Scorecard and strategy management have ability to use common mathematical formulas e.g. median, average, percentiles. Describe.?

  • Regarding Release strategy - Approver on vacation

    Hi ..
This is regarding Release Strategy ..
We don't have work flow configured now. can you please suggest for below
    1. If a Person responsible for a role [release code] is on vacation, how we pass this authorization to alternative person
    2. i believe without work flow there will be no way that we can notify approver
    Thanks

You can assign the Role/Profile containing the authorisation on a time limited basis to the person who covers for the person on holiday.
It's not particularly efficient to have to continue doing this though so I'd suggest doing it on a permanent basis.
    Regards,
    Nick

  • Regarding cutover strategy!!!!

what are the steps involved in the cut over stratey? please explain

    2.What is cut over strategy?
Cutover strategy depends upon how the organizations design their data load strategies. Normally, you decide the sequence of Data loads for Configuration settings, Master data, Transaction data which follows whom and then you make a copy of the system as a Production system a day before and after checking the successful data loads, you go-live 100% or partial again depending upon organizational setup and policies.
Cutover planning is highly site specific. There's no thumb rule. The stock data as on the date of going live should be correctly entered. But stock being a highly dynamic quantity, the strategy for loading should be crystal clear. Then you have to load all the back dated transaction on the stock. Some stock comes into your plant/storage location as return and some stock is actually delivered to your customer through sales orders of various kinds.

The final phase before going live with SAP is often referred to as the cutover phase, which is the process of transitioning from one system to a new one. The organization needs to plan, prepare and execute the cutover, by creating a cutover plan that describes all cutover tasks that have to be performed before the actual go-live. Examples of cutover tasks are:
Review and update all systems-related operations procedures like backup policies and system monitoring
Assign ownership of SAP’s functional processes to individuals
Let SAP AG do a Going Live check, to get their blessing to go live with the system
Lock down the system, i.e. do not make any more changes to the SAP system
    Cut-Over Activities:
Cutover Plan - The details of how to move to the production environment and go live. Ensuring that all master data to be loaded to production server is ready & in correct format. User training is conducted & user is in a comfort or atleast managable position to work on production server. Preparation of user manual. All go-live preparatory activities.
    Open Client activity:
The activity or configuration to be done in production server, by opening an client should be ensured that it is done before go-live.
    Cutover Activities
At the end of Phase 4, it is necessary to refine and validate the cutover plans generated in the Realization phase. Among other things, this includes tasks such as the reviewing of the runtime of test runs to estimate runtime for the complete data size. A conversion checklist for transporting all changes into the productive system is provided for all the configuration settings to be imported.
At this stage, it is important to verify that required tasks have been successfully completed, for example, that the technical environment is in place, the cutover programs are ready and the application data is verified. Approval is now sought from project management and company senior management to start the cutover process.
Here you can also refer to the Data Transfer Made Easy Guidebook created especially for this purpose. It is located in the Knowledge Corner of the ASAP CD.
The help desk is particularly important in the first weeks after going live, but you will require help desk support throughout the productive life of your R/3 System.
An internal help desk should be staffed and supported mainly by employees of the enterprise. Setting up a help desk involves, among other things, installing office and technical equipment and defining OSS users. Problems which cannot be solved by this internal help desk are forwarded to SAP via the OSS system.
As soon as you know when you will go live with the R/3 System or with new R/3 applications you should inform SAP. Thus you can ensure that SAP can provide optimal support throughout your going-live phase. For the last weeks before and first weeks after the go-live date, SAP offers the R/3 GoingLive Customer Care Service, accessible via SAPNet and OSS.

  • Regarding Stock Removal strategy M

    Hi friends -
We have a requirement here for the system to propose different storage types based on quantity on the transfer order.
I have recommended strategy M which allows for this.
But there is a problem, there is not 1 fixed bin to pick from in the case of small qties.
In other words, the client wants a group of bins to belong to a material, if the qty on the TO is less than Control quantity then the system should propose any of those bins. Plus replenishment for that material should always point to that group of bins.
Now I suggested using section indicators and maintaining a section search strategy to correctly identify those bins, but they dont want to maintain so much material master data either.
What they want to do is this, identify bins as and allocate them for a material, all picks and all replenishment henceforth should point to those bins until changed. In addition they want minimal master data maintenance.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for your recommendations.

There doesn't need to be 'one fixed Bin', you just want the system to go to a given Storage Type dependent on the control quantity (WM2).  It'll find the material in whichever Bin(s) it's in.

  • Regarding:PR Release strategy

    Dear SAP Gurus.
    I created below charecterstics.
    PR_RELEASE_TOTAL_PR_VALUE
    PR_RELEASE_PURORGANISATION
    PR_RELEASE_PURCHASING_GROUP
    PR_RELEASE_PLANT
    PR_RELEASE_ITEMCATEGORY
    PR_RELEASE_DOCUMENTTYPE
    PR_RELEASE_CREATIONINDICATOR
and linked that all as characterstic in Class PR_RELEASE_TOTAL.
but while doing Set Up Procedure with Classification for Release Groups
    Below information message came
Please check release classes (see long text)
    Message no. ME492
    Diagnosis
Here you can assign release groups to release classes. Only one release class should be used within the release groups for overall release and the release groups without overall release in each case. However, in this instance several release classes have been used.
    Procedure
Assign the release groups that were created for overall release to one release class only. Assign the release groups that were not created for overall release to a different release class.
    Example:
Rel. group Rel. obj. Overall rel.    Class       Description
    01 1 _   FRG_EBAN      Group 01
    02 1 _   FRG_EBAN      Group 02
    S1 1 X   FRG_GF_EBAN Group S1
    S2 1 X   FRG_GF_EBAN Group S2
Please help me out to correct this.
    With Regards
    MK

    Hi Mukul,
What this means is, that for a particular Group, that you have, you can have only one class for the release groups( Its is a technical Limitation), for P.R which have item wise release as well as overall release, we can have two different groups.
Kindly check in the configuration of groups, what is the class used, you would then need to add all the characteristics that you have created, to that class, then it will work fine.
Please let me know if you come across any issues.
    Would be glad to help

  • Regarding an External HD Backup Strategy...

I have tried some of the suggestions for a backup strategy and need more help. I partitioned the external drive (LaCie 250 GB via Firewire 800) into three volumes: one volume large enough for a clone of my internal HD, one volume for Mac OS X and TechTool Pro, and one for data.
    1. When partitioning using Apple's Disk Utility, I could only choose one "option" for all volumes: the best options included "GUID Partition Table" (If I want to use that disk to start up an Intel-based Mac) or Apple Partition Map (If I want to use that drive as a non-startup disk with any Mac). I checked the box for Mac OS 9 drivers to be installed and chose the Apple Partition Map. I did this because I used SuperDuper! to clone my HD and checked the option to make that backup bootable (which is an option in SuperDuper). Is it still bootable on a non-GUID formatted drive? Are the Mac OS 9 drivers necessary? Does it hurt to have them?
    2. When I install Mac OS X and TechTool Pro on the other volume, how do I make that volume bootable? When this is done, do I have to boot from this volume to update to 10.4.9? Will the Mac OS 9 drivers hinder this volume when I try to boot from it?
    3. In case I do need to reformat using the GUID Partition Table, can I still store data on a volume that I don't intend to boot from? Should I still install the Mac OS 9 drivers if I am installing Mac OS X?
    4. Is there a way to safely test these bootable volumes and the backup?
Thank you for your time and advice.

    1. GUID is fine, but you don't need an OS9 drivers on an Intel Mac, no harm if they are on there.
    2. At start up you hold down [option] and it will list all possible Boot volumes, select the one you wish to use.
    3. Yes you can store data on any format, the main impact the format has in that case is whether the volume is read/write capable from Mac OS and/or Windows.
    4. Once you've made your clone of the main hard drive onto the external volume, reboot holding down [option] and try booting from it ...
