Regarding Account assignment categories in ECC 6.0
Hi All,
My client is going for a upgrade from SAP r/3 4.7 to ECC 6.0, In this process while creating Emergent orders in PLant maintianence module, an error "Invalid Account Assignment category" is arising with the following explaination under diagnosis.
In Customizing define the account assignment category for service and maintainance orders.
In standard, define the following for the order category 30:
Account assignement type (general) F
Account assignement type (Project) Q
Account assignement type (Sales Order) E
Sales document project D
Do I need to create these new account assignment categories in SAP ECC6.0 to overcome the error.
Also in this Account assignment config, Is special stock going to play an important role. Can anyone please explain what exactly the impact is on the bussiness if we assignt the Special stock categories.
Has anyone who did the upgrade created these account assignment categories for the PM module.
Regards,
Shane
Hi Ha Tran,
Some of these Account assignment categories have been deleted from the system before and I am creating these categories refering to the standard system. Thanks a bunch for your prompt answer.

PO Account Assignment Tab in ECC - with Split Accounting
Hello,
We currently are using Funds and WBS Elements within our SAP system. When both a fund and a WBS Element are used on one line item within the shopping cart, I am able to see all of the information (fund, wbs element, fund center, cost center, commitment item, etc). However, after the purchase order is created and transmitted to ECC the "Account Assignment Category" is marked as "X - All aux.acct.assgts." and the account assignment tab only has the following column headers:
- Sequential Number of Account Assignment
- Quantity
- Distribution Percentage in Case of Multiple Account Assgt
- Cost Center
- G/L Account Number
- Order Number
- Asset Subnumber
- WBS Element
- Sales and Distribution Document Number
- Sales Document Number
- Delivery Schedule Line Number
- Unloading Point
- Goods Recipient/Ship-to Party
- Deletion Indicator: Purchasing Document Account Assignment
I can see that the fund is within the EKKN table (Field: BP_GEBER) but for some reason ME23N does not have this field in the Account Assignment tab when the category is "X". How do I add "Fund" into the Account Assignment tab so that it will be visible within ME23N?
Thanks,
KatieIMG \ MM \ Purchasing \ Account Assignment \ Maintain Account Assignment Categories
Select details for AAC 'X' and view field settings below. Set Funds \ Funds Center to required setting e.g. Display. -
GL Account Field status setting conflicting with Account Assignment categor
Hi All,
A GL account could not be used for posting vendor invoice because of mismatch between the field status group setting for the GL account and the account assignment category. The Account assignment category in MM does not even have WBS field where as for the GL account the field WBS element has been suppressed. Because of this conflicting setting we are not able to post the vendor invoice.
What I am bothered about is there are lot of GL accounts being assigned to this field status group.
Can anybody please let me know what will be consequences if I make the changes to the relevant field status group?
Please let me know if there is any way-out for this Or is it ok with I go ahead with the changes required.
Regards,
S.SumanaHi Sumana,
If you are changing FS there will no problem but see that IT should not be combination of Required and Hide then system will give you the errorr.
In your case from MM change the status as optional.I think your problem will get resolved.
Thanks

Ability to modify Account Assignment Category for Service Item Categories
Dear experts,
Our customer has a requirement to modify the account assignment category when the item category is set to "D" services on a PR and PO line item. This scenario is specific to indirect procurement scenarios in SAP ECC 6.0 MM.
End users may potentially create a PR against a service item category with an incorrect account assignment category. These PRs are created using free form text. No service master exists in these scenarios. During the approval process or during PO creation, an approver or the buyer may need to correct the account assignment category. The account assignment category is "display" only and cannot be modified when the item category is set to "D". The user must delete the line item and create a new line item with the correct account assignment category. The copy function cannot be used because the account assignment copies from the existing line and cannot be modified.
Any recommendations to this issue using standard SAP configuration solutions?
Thanks,
JenniferItem Category to Account Assignment Category combination is already configured. For Service Item Category, we have three account assignment categories configured. All three categories are valid in different scenarios. Sometimes the user selects the incorrect account assignment category (out of the three available) depending on the business scenario. PT9F configuration is already set to Account Assignment category "optional". However, the account assignment category still cannot be modified on the PR when the item category is "D" service.
Any other recommendations? -
GR and GR Non Val indicator in R/3 PO for multiple account assigned SC's
Hi,
We are on SRM 3.0(EBP 4.0) and R/3 4.7.
We have implemented the BBP_CREATE_PO_BACK badi for setting or clearing the GR and IR indicators under certian conditions.
But for Multiple account assigned SC's we get an error message "06181 With non-valuated GR, please also enter GR i ndicator ".
We have tried implementing note# 872000, but this has not solved the issue.
The PO's get created only if we force the GR indicator when transferring the data into R/3.
It seems clear that while creating the PO the system is encountering the GR Non Val indicator but not the GR indicator, so its throwing the error message (we get the same error message when we create the PO from R/3 with GRnon val indicator checked and GR ind unchecked).
The proposed solution is that in the same BADI, along with clearing the GR indicator, we will also clear the GR non val indicator.
This can solve the issue if the indicators are transferred as it is from EBP.
But can anyone tell me if these indicators are also checked/changed in any FM/program in R/3 before the PO is created?
Is there any customizing setting which is affecting this particular behaviour?
Regards,
SrivatsanHi Srivatsan ?
In ECC, you have a configuration point :
Materials Management->Account Assignment->Maintain Account Assignment Categories
Here you can untick the indicator you want by account assignment category;
Kind regards,

How to maintain different account assignment group for a material
One of our items in plant A was extended in B to use in an business scenario.
Since the item was extended using the copy function every change
made in A seems to affect our Item master in B . What governs this?
Since the item is manufactured in A the Acct. assignment Group in
Sales Org. 2 is set to 01 manufactured item, while for B it is a
purchased item and so 03.
Please let me know how to go a head with this.Hi
As per standards and logics a material can be created only once in MM01
In MM01 we create a material say pen under some organizational data and that includes plant, storage location, sales org,DC,warehouse etc
If you are extending the same material to another plant the same can be done in MM01 with the new organizational data and after that if you hit enter you will get a message that the material is already created and extended to such and such data
In that exept the basic data 1 and 2 many or most of the fields can be changed
I have checked account assignment category in sales org data 2 can be changed
Say for plant 1000 for material pen assignment category can be 01 and
plant 1001 for the same material pen assignment category can be 02 like that
The extra keys for account assignment categories are defined in t code OVK5
img-sd-basic functions-account assignment and costing-revenue account determination---check master data relevant for account assignment
Relevant VKOA settings to be done
Then based on plant (in sales order) diffrerent GL accounts will be picked
So a same material with respect to the organizational data can have different account assignment categories

The field for account assignment category appears to have a length of one. If we have used all alpha characters, can we enter a numeric number from 0-9? Or is there another option?
Hi,
You shall give numeric values to account assignment category, just now i have tried this worked out, but you should be aware of functionality.
Path:SPRO->Materials Mangement->Purchasing->Account Assignment->Maintain Account assignment categories .
Activities
1. Check the attributes of the account assignment categories
2. Maintain the account assignment categories to suit your requirements
Now click on new entries as per ur business requirement you may define the same.
Reward if helpful.

How to determine value of PO account assignment item
G'Day,
Simple question: I'm after a cost breakdown of a PO at account assignment level. For this I need to determine the value of an account assignment item in a consistent manner. e.g. if a PO item has an account assignment split across multiple cost centers then I need the value against each cost center. Very straightforward in theory, however in practice the value field in EKKN is not always filled. Some account assignment categories use percentages, others use quantities and others use values or combinations thereof.
I can code this quite easily, but the examples I've seen for different account assignment categories are a bit too random for my liking. I don't know if I will catch every option so I would prefer some SAP function module or something similar, which I have thus far been unable to find. Does anyone have a method using standard SAP?
Input appreciated,
MikeDear Mike,
Try report ME2K with Cost center using *, account assignment K, plant and posting date restrictions.
This report will give you the purchasing document - cost center wise quantity distribution details (irrespective of either Quantity or Percentage distribution in Purchase order).
Only part missing is - in this report you will get ordered price / per unit and cost center wise allotted quantity, the value (Price per unig X cost center wise allotted qty) you didnt get. This can get if the data transferred to excel.
I hope this will help the requirement.

We are using extended Classic scenario with PDP.
We are able to complete the cycle w/o account assigned PO like, PR transfer to EBP, Creation PO in sourcing cockpit in EBP & same PO gets transferred to R/3.
But whenever PR is account assigned with P or Q & we create PO in EBP from soucing cockpit, PO is not getting transferred to R/3.
In EBP - BBP_PD shows no error

Thanks for reply
1. In SLG1 we have already checked, Nothing is appearing there

Anything else needs to be done?

Purchase Order Document Type and Account Assignment
Hi ,
We have a requirement to control Account Assignment in Purchase Order Item line based on the Document type selected on the Purchase Order header.
Like if user selects Purchase Order document type "ZNB" (Customized created) , then he will only able to select "K" or Blank or "P" as account assignment and similary we want to limit other Account assignments based on the Purchase Document type.
How can we make this Control settings?
Regards
ShreyHi,
You can't really limit the account assignment categories per document type, at least not directly.
You can limit the item categories that can be used for a document type via configuration:
Materials Management > Purchasing > Purchase Order > Define Document Types
Within this transaction you can define which item categories are valid for a specific document type.
You can then define which account assignment categories are valid for each item category
Materials Management > Purchasing > Account Assignment > Define Combination of Item Categories/Account Assignment Categories
BUT
limiting the account assignment categories that are valid for an item category will affect ALL purchase order document types that this item category is valid for. And you can't create your own item categories as this is a SAP standard table that can NOT be altered.

Problem with " Account assignment category"- Services
Hello expert,
I have a problem with the order positions type " D" (Services). At the moment that I indicate that value in the field " Item category in purchasing document" , the field " Account assignment category" he becomes gray, preventing that can be modified later. What could do so that this field is modifiable in the future?
Thank you!!hi
1. Go to Tcode- OMH4,
Maintain Acct assignment as "Possible" instead of not possible for Item Category "D"
2.Go to Tcode - OMG0
Here maintain Various Combinations of Item Category "D" and Account assignment Categories.
Then, Acct Assignment Category field in PO item overview will be open for Item Category "D".
Hope it helps,
Regards,
Rahul

PurchOrder 0030065837: Purchase order still contains faulty items

Now the PO status is error in process
Can any one help on this issue...
Thank You
ShrinivasHi shrinivas,
When you are having the multiple account assignment, then the system will force you to have GR-non valuated indicator being flagged which results in the fact there is not any FI document at GR posting stage and this is the standard feature of SAP
can you tell me whether you have that option of selecting or deselecting the GR nonvaluated in PO creation(EBP).If it is there falg it and reprocess the Sc
hope this will help

Functional Area in Account Assignment Category
Hi Gurus,
What's the usage of Functional Area in Account Assignment Category?
What's the impact if we just hide the field?
Many thanks in advanceHi
The functional area is required to create a profit and loss account in Financial Accounting using cost-of-sales accounting. The following are examples of structure criteria:
Manufacturing
Administration
Sales
Research and development
The functional area is needed for Funds Management to meet legal requirements for reporting with functional aspects. You can use the functional area to represent the global targets and goals (such as public safety or city development), in particular the expenses of your Government organization.
If you have Cost of sales accounting then only you need to keep this as optional or required. If Not then you can make this filed as hidden
As per Satndard SAP in all the account assignment categorie this field is hidden
Thanks & Regards
Kishore
