Regarding ALV total
Hi All,
I have 2 alvs. Where in each one of them, the total is calculated for one of the fields by using the standard ALV total functionality.
I need to show the grand total of these two.
I could not find any method to get the total of that given field of a ALV. We are able to set the total. How to read the total being calculated by the standard functionality. I have checked the field settings but no method returns the total to avoid the looping for these 2 tables to calculate the total.
Is there any way to get the total caclaulted by the standard functionality for that field.

I have an issue in ALV totals and subtotals.
Scenario is like this.
i have a vendor data to be pulled out of SAP and to be shown in the form of report.
i am populating all the data and doing do_sum based on Vendor ( has expansin & collapse option ) and display the number of reports .

but my problem is in the same report i have a date field .
if i have a five vendors created on 03/03/2008. in the same report for the date field having ( expansion & collapse ) , when i expand based on that date can i be able to sum up all the vendors created on 03/03/2008 and display in the same report along with the vendor count.

Help needed regarding ALV report
Hi,
I have a query regarding ALV report.
The requirement is as follows:-
When the user executes the ALV report and if he sums one numeric field column values and filters out some of the field columns ( for example there r 5 columns in the report and the user has filtered out 2 of them and viewing only 3 columns)
and now the requirements is that when the user runs the report later he should see the modified report ( i mean only 3 cloumns and the total value of the column which he has made) but not the original output which was there when the report was developed.
First of all i wanna know is it possible to do r not. If yes then how

Yes you can! You have to manage the layout variant.
So when you call your ALV you have to set the parameter I_SAVE = 'A'.
In this way you'll allow the user to save the variants for layout.
After you has to have a chance to choose the variant in selection-screen.
See the demo program BCALV_GRID_11 to manage the variant in selection-screen.

The ALV Total will internally be calculated and stored in internal table 't_measure' attribute of method DO_AGGREGATION in class CL_SALV_WD_SERVICE_MANAGER.
There is no provision to retrieve this value( unless you enhance the mentioned class and store the value in some shared object). Even the Total value will be calculating by looping the internal table in the mentioned method.
So , remove the aggregation and calculate the total manually by looping the Internal table in your View controller and store it.

Hi friends,
I have a doubt in ALV while displaying totals.
How can we display the "totals" immediately when the ALV output is displayed. I tried many ways but when im clicking on the 'Summation' symbol in the output of the ALV then only the 'Totals' or 'Subtotals' are being displayed.
Please give me some helpfull tips...

I had made dis report and added the feature SUB total ,but the problem is when i select 1 coloumn den it used to display correct sub total but when i choose all these buttons den it does not display the correct sub - total.

I would like to know how to give them some names so that they can be distinguished from each other by there name.

the easiest way to achive this, is to do the subtotaling with or without detailed lines by changing the ALV variant when in display.
When you save the ALV layout(variant), in the popup you have a "Save with" tab. There is "Breakdwn to totals lvl:" entry. You ca select the level of sum displayed.
After saving layout variant, you can pass it depending on users input in structured parameter IS_VARIANT. Yo need to fill report field with report name and variant with layout name.
Best is, to have a layout selection parameter. In Initialization, fill it using FM REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_DEFAULT_GET, AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR P_layout, use REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_F4.
This makes your report far more flexible.

I have to create one report using alv,in my selection screen i have fields Company code(BUKRS) , Financial Year (RYEAR) , and period (RPMAX).
I am using the tables GLT0,SKAT.
I need to display in out put Account Number(GLT0-RACCT),Short description(SKAT-TXT50) and actual value and planned values.
These actual and planned values are stored in table GLT0 with record type (RRCTY,0-for actual and 1- planned) and some 16 fields are there like HSL01 to HSL16.
My doubt is how we get these values dynamically from table based on period value in selection screen.

1. Add a field 'PAGENUM' put table and populate the same.
2. Populate the sum field of fieldcat with 'X' for the totals to be calculated.
For ex for field 'PRICE' you want total then

3. populate the sort table as below.

Please get me a Good Solution.I think your node( the node which is binded to data node of alv interface controller ) having collection cardinality of 1:1, if yes, then change it to 0:N,
