Regarding BI Dashboard

Hi,
I want to install BI for Dashboard ..
Please tell me how to instatll it?
Kindly provide link of it.
Thanks in advance.

Hi ,
you only need OBIEE 10.1.3.4 to install with JDK 1.6 (or latest ) installed on your machine.
also there is a good post here
http://www.infopurple.com/obiee-installation-steps
and if you also want to experiment with sample schema database try installing SH (sales History) or the Paint repository to know how the dashboards works
then later you can connect to your desired database to create Dashboards.
as you are looking just for dashboards for BI ,also one nice tool available with drill down,PDF,excel output etc tool online just for Dashboards is http://www.infocaptor.com/
thanks

  • Question regarding OAM - Dashboard - Critical Activities

    Hi All,
    R12.1.3
    Rdbms 11.2.0.2
I have a question regarding OAM -> Dashboard -> Critical Activities.
How do you set up purges jobs to be displayed on that jsp page?
It should be display under Critical activities - Purge - FND.
(reference: websiminar Tuning All Layer of ebs, slide #16).
    Thank you,

I already have the list of programs displayed under that page.
You should find a "Modify Monitored Program List" button in the same page, click on it and add the program(s) you want to monitor.

  • Regarding Dynamic Dashboard prompts

    Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement like this.
In an underlying dimensional hierarchy say for example Time Dimension ...there are 3 calendars hierarchy..
    1. gregorian
    2. fiscal
    3. business.
Each one will be having different number of levels also.
    gregorian has 6..starts from Year->Halfyear->Quarter->Month->Week->Day
fiscal has only 4..starts from Year->Quarter->Month->Day
    business has only 5..starts from Year->Quarter-> Month->Week->Day
Now the requirement is like this.... the customer wants to have the first prompt which should have these 3 calendars as values... and if they select Gregorian..then the values should go cascaded( cosntrain) to the next level of prompt..
if its gregorian next prompt values should be Half year...based on that, he then selects quarter, then month, week and day..
So here we need to give 6 prompts.
but if the user happens select fiscal ...then after selecting year the next prompt will be quarter...then month and day...so after the 4th level of prompt the last 2 prompts should be blank.
is there any way by which we can hide these last 2 prompts dynamically??
Note: All this is happening the requirement phase and we have not yet got the data to test this.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    D

    Hi,
don't know a posibility to hide a column in a prompt, but here is a workaround...
    create 4 prompts:
    first prompt: type of calendar:
    column:
case when 1 = 2 then Time.dummy else '' endwith show SQL results
select case when 1=2 then  "Time".Dummy else 'gregorian' end from catalog
    union all
select  case when 1=2 then  "Time".Dummy else 'business' end from catalog
    union all
select  case when 1=2 then  "Time".Dummy else 'fiscal' end from catalogthis prompt will set a variable var_calendar
create another 3 prompts each with all columns that needed for specific type of calendar.
    gregorian has 6..starts from Year->Halfyear->Quarter->Month->Week->Day
fiscal has only 4..starts from Year->Quarter->Month->Day
    business has only 5..starts from Year->Quarter-> Month->Week->Day
In dashbord put each calandar prompt in different sections and use guided navigation to show only the calendar prompt that you need as selected by first prompt...
you will find here an example on how to use guided navigation
    http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2008/01/17/oracle-bi-101332-selecting-reports-from-dashboard-prompts-and-guided-navigation-sections/
you will use it to hide prompts..

  • Query regarding connecting dashboards with SQL DATABASE using WSDT

    Hello Sir,
I am trying to connect dashboards with Sql database via WSDT, but i have encountered the same problem as described in your SAP community blog (SAP Web Service Design Tool: From web service creation to Xcelsius consumption).
when i tried connecting CR server with WSDT ,it still shows that total number of available licenses is 0.
What can be done to solve this issue.
for your detail reference, we are using CRS NUL version's 60 days Evaluation keys and same with Xcelsius Departmental edition.
I would really appreciate, if you revert back to my mail as soon as possible

Which version of Crystal Reports are you using? The regular ReportDocument SDK probably isn't robust enough to handle this, unless you create a connection using that connection string at design-time which you don't change at runtime. You might be able to add those properties using the in-proc RAS SDK, though. This is available with CRXI R2 as of SP2, and CR2008.

  • Regarding Default dashboard

    Hi Experts,
i want to set default dashboard for particular user and group.
i dont know the steps for setting different default dashboard for
    different users.
please give any solution for it.

if you're using external table authentication, you better store the PORTALPATH in your database for each user and now in initialization block assign this column value to the PORTALPATH variable so that when user logs in using PORTALPATH it always navigate to the specified dashboard in portalpath column.
    check this for more info

  • Performance Guidelines - Dashboards 4.0

    Hi,
I know, through experience of Xcelsius 2008,  there are quite a few performance guiidelines to follow with regard to building your Dashboard in Xcelsius 2008 but are there any specifics ones we should adhere to with regards to Dashboards 4.0.
Is there a recommended limit with regard to your data or what types of components are performance-intensive and what performance improvements are part of Dashboards 4.0?
For example, I tend to stick with hundreds of records as opposed to thousands in Xcelsius 2008 but have Dashboards 4.0 improved enough to take a whole lot more data?
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi Gillian
Does the graph plot area occupy all the space within the graph window? If not, that may explain why you are seeing the white space. You may also want to try and customize the graph portlet within Portal and adjust the graph size to see if that helps.

  • Dashboard Query

Hello, I have a query regarding a dashboard.I have a data coming from BEX. At Bex level, I have a condition created at Bex layer which prevents records from displaying but when it goes in to dashboard 4.1 it loses that condition. I have read a lot of posts that describe it is not supported but there is a work around but no one is telling the work around. can some one tell me the work around please?
    Thanks.

Suman, I have a formula for customer something like this:
    Customer     Formula
    101                    -12
    103                    100
    200                    0
    800                    -11
    900                    309
    I only want to take:
    Customer     Formula
    103                    100
    900                    309
    which is Formula > 0.
but I am not able to do this.
Please let me know if there is a way.
    Thanks.

  • Dashboard Licensing

    Hi,
    With regards to dashboards (9.0 PL11);
Is Dashboard Design the only supported product? What is the latest supported version?
Apart from the license for Design itself, is there any client consumption licensing involved?
    Thank you.

    Hi Soyer,
BO Dashborad comes with Temporary keys which changes once in every three months.
You can get the Temp Key PDF in service market place.
If you have a S-ID you can download this PDF.

  • Colours in dashboards

    Hi,
another question regarding the dashboards, how can I change the colour of a bar or a piece of a pie chart?
    Thanks & Regards
    Matthias

There is a property on the bar or pie chart called "content color". You define in here the colors you want displayed in the order they appear on the bar or pie.
If you want to preset your colors so red is always "expired" and green is "ok" for example then you need to make sure your pie/barchart is defined with these preset values (hash map) first so the colors always match the bars or slices.

  • Dashboard on workbooks using WAD

    Hi,
Is that Possible to create a Dashboard on existing workbooks if so please let me know the procedure.
    regards,
    bjoby

'Dashboard' is such a broad term as to be almost useless these days. If you are looking for a single 'page view' of mulitiple query results from various infoproviders, the answer is, of course, yes. Keep in mind that the terms "Workbook" and "WAD" are mutually incompatible. A Workbook is a Bex Analyzer Excel Workbook. WAD is the Bex Web environment.
'Dashboards' are more straightforward in WAD.. the creation and management of analysis grids and whatnot involve well documented WAD design skills. To create a "Dashboard" in a Workbook also requires careful manipulation of analysis grids and other objects within an Excel workbook. It's do-able, but the WAD environment is more interactive and flexible for that purpose.
Visual Composer is also a candidate, as it's mature SAP technology, and can utilize Bex Queries as data sources for applications.
SAP, of course, would prefer that you convert to Business Objects and use their Crystal Dashboard (nee Xcelcius) product. Most of their design work (iPad, etc..) is headed in that direction. Before you begin your project, be careful from a strategic perspective on exactly which technology you want to use.

  • Help needed with conditions in Table View

Another question regarding the dashboard we are building:
We use a custom function module to display marketing attributes for a particular customer. There are three kinds of marketing attributes of which we want to display the value:
    - Z_QUADRANT
    - Z_SOW
    - Z_WALLET
If I use the function module as a data service in Visual Composer and use a standard table view as ouput, we get these kind of output:
Atnam - Atwrt - Atflv - Atzhl (<-- these are the column labels)
    Z_QUADRANT - 4 - 0 - 0
    Z_SOW - 0 - 5 - 0
    Z_WALLET - 0 - 75.000 - 0
I just want to display the data as follows:
    QUADRANT: 4
    SOW: 5%
    WALLET: 75.000
So I need to hide the obsolete fields and values and just need to display the relevant values. How can I achieve this? I was guessing I needed to implement some sort of conditional formula like "IF atnam = Z_QUADRANT, display Atwrt(value)" or something, but I am terrible at these kind of things. Can somebody explain it to me or point in the right direction of some good documentation or guide on this? Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Jan Laros

I now chose to use a form which uses the output from the tables. This is the table I use as input for the form:
    http://tweakers.net/ext/f/DWmYaePz4gdzVhwMJ3naA5UQ/full.jpg
I use the following formula for the quadrant:
    IF(@ATNAM=="EU_BP_NPS_QUADRANT",@ATWRT,"0")
This returns a value of "4" which is correct.
For SOW I use the following formula:
    IF(@ATNAM=="EU_BP_NPS_SOW",@ATFLV,"WRONG")
Strangely enough the return value is "WRONG" in the form. What am I missing here?

  • Cache server metrics-Current Open connections

    hello all,
I have a query regarding the dashboard cache server metrics in CMC.
When I run the dashboards, data is getting cached in the cache memory, but dashboards are using that cached data only when the "Current Open connections" in the "Dashboard cache server metric" is non-zero.
i.e., example when I run the dashboards for the first time, "Current Open connections" under Cache server metrics is 10. When I run the dashboards immediately with in 20 minutes, results would come very fast. But after 20 minutes , the "Current Open connections" are becoming 0(connections seems to be expiring) and after I run the dashboards, they are performing slowly though the data is present in the cache memory.
I have tried changing the "Idle Connection timeout" to 240 minutes from the existing 60 minutes, still "Current Open connections" under Cache server metrics is becoming 0 after 20 minutes.
Kindly help me as this is affecting the dashboards performance.
    Thank you.

    Hello,
Appreciate any help on this. Attached is the screenshot of what I was referring to. "Currently Open Connections" becoming 0 in 20 minutes(even after the idle time connection timeout is increased to 240 minutes) , while the number of open connections shows the number.
