    How can I easily convert mod files (JVC video files) to a format recognized and usable by imovie?
    Is there a way within the ios to do this or do I need to buy conversion software? If so, what is the recommended software?

    I don't think there are ways in iOS can do this. some conversion software like this might do the right thing for you:

    Date date=new Date();You don't need this line.
    Date dateFormatter = new
    er = new
    SimpleDateFormat("yyyy'-'MM'-'dd").parse(str1);;As already told, you don't need the single quotes. And you don't need two semi-colons - that's unnecessary.
    I just wrote a sample code to test that out. Check it and see for yourself.
    import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
    public class Test {
         public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
              System.out.println(new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd").parse("2005-04-18"));
              System.out.println(new SimpleDateFormat("'yyyy'-'MM'-'dd'").parse("2005-04-18"));
    }Output:
    Mon Apr 18 00:00:00 EDT 2005
    Exception in thread "main" java.text.ParseException: Unparseable date: "2005-04-18"
            at java.text.DateFormat.parse(DateFormat.java:335)
            at Test.main(Test.java:6)I wonder why it is not feasible to write a quick sample code.

Is it possible that even I don't write the code for playing the video first and just write the captured code so that can still capture the image by using Java only from the exists video file. Thanks a lot.You can get away without playing the video by seeking to the frame you want using FramePositioningControl ( [example here|http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/2.1.1/solutions/Seek.html] )and then capturing the frame using FrameGrabbingControl (similar to the code I posted). But still you would have to load the video file, create the player using url, realize the player, perhaps prefetch it (all in the link I have given above) then you are ready to seek to particular frame and capture it. But now you don't need to actually start the player so that video/audio is visible/audible.
    Thanks!

  • Work flow for syncing separate Audio files with Video files in FCP

    It may be too late for me to use this workflow that I want with my current project, but I need to figure out what it is anyway for future reference.
    Right now I'm editing a movie which is near completion. When we recorded the movie, the camera's deck recorded reference audio from the sound guy at 48k @ 16bit. This audio also went through an additional set of preamps which added a small amount of noise. So we don't want to use the reference audio because of it's low resolution and less clean audio. The sound guy recorded straight to his deck at 48k @ 24bit, besides the better resolution, his audio is noticeably better.
    The camera deck and 'clapper' (I think that's what you call it) were not connected or synced. So the video files and the soundsguy's audio files are slightly different lengths, but at least have a 'clap sound' to manually sync to. And I don't mean that the audio and video files won't play in sync with each other, I mean that the soundguy always started recording before the camera, so his audio files have slightly different start and stop times.
    Could I have synced the audio files with the video files before I started editing this project? If so, could it have been in the way that the soundguy's audio would be connected to my video files while editing? What would that procedure have been?
    My current workflow right now is I have my finished sequence, I change the bit rate to 24 in Sequence Settings, and start manually dragging the soundguy's files to the sequence for every little edited clip. This is going to take forever, there are 99 scenes in this movie. Anyway, at the end of the day these sequences are exported as .omf files and imported into Pro Tools for audio post production.
    I was not thinking to figure this out before I started editing the movie, this is unfortunate, a newb move in a decent production.
    Anyway, I don't know if there is a standard for this situation or if I just opened up a can of worms for many possible workflows. Please comment if you have experience in this area or please refer me to any reading material.
    Thanks for your time!
    -Monty

    The normal workflow (besides manually syncing up before editing!)
    is to have ' some ' way of auto syncing the clips.
    So you must have common timecode.
    With external audio, you can slave the cam's TC to the TC output of the BWF recorder.
    Then you can use BWF / QT merge (one of my apps) to sync them, or use Sync 'n Link.
    (another third party application)
    If it is not possible cause you're shooting with a cam without a TC input, you can record the TC output on one of the audio tracks of your cam, and use FCPauxTC reader to decode the beeps and translate that to QT TC, and again use the former tricks to sync them.
    It is difficult when you have never done it, but very easy once you get the hang of it, and it saves a huge amount of time to do it right from the start.
    Have a look at the FCP aux TC reader here:

    Sync 'n Link can be found here:

  • Adobe Media Encoder different audio file to video file.

    Hello,
    I've been encoding files from several different DVD's and when I play the encoded file the video is correct but the audio is from a completely different file. This is I am assuming is because the file names on the DVD's are the same i.e. VTS_01_1.. etc. When I realised it was doing this I permanently deleted the incorrectly encoded files, sorted all of the correctly encoded files into seperate folders for each DVD. This did not work even though media encoder was creating new file names for each file it encoded. I then re-named all of the correct files and re-named the files that I was about to encode. I have also cleared the media cache database. The files on the DVD's are fine and play as they should with the correct audio. What do I need to do to get the files to encode with the correct audio?!!! Thank you!

    Try this - in Project Bin, right-click the clip in question and select "Make Offline". Then right-click again and choose "Link Media" and point it to the correct source file. Could be that the pointers got all confused as like you said, as sources had the same names.
    If that fails to resolve the problem - cleaning the Media Cache only works for projects that no longer exist, or are on a drive that is disconnected. Assuming that maybe the Conformed audio that is being used in the background is messed up, try this - close Premiere, then RENAME the project file, for instance add an "x" to beginning of filename. Now open Premiere (new project), then clean the cache again. Since it can't find your project, it should then remove all temp renders from the drive for that project.
    Next, rename project to original name and open and it should conform audio again as if just adding media for the first time. Hopefully for correct clips this time, if you have moved media around on drive to eliminate overlap of file names.

  • Functionality for seeking media file(audio/video) files

    Hi
    In my project my web-application initializes Quick Time media player
    for playing media files(audio/video).
    My problem is when I drag my task bar on the media player my application could not play from that point.From the point I drag the bar my media player in web-application has to play from that point.
    How can I write code in servlet for SEEKING FUNCTIONALITY.
    Thank U

    If you uncheck a movie by its name it won't get listed on the tv. So there isn't actually any need to give the two versions of the same movie a different name.
    So for the movie encoded for tv, check its name and it will appear on the tv.
    For the movie encoded for ipod, uncheck its name so it won't appear on the tv and add it to a playlist for syncing with your ipod.

  • About file audio/video file type and name of jpeg ...

    Can anybody please tell Following few things
    1- If I record a telephone call (conversation) in Nokia N70, what is the file format i.e. wav, mp3, rm  or what and what is the initial name of the file e.g. nokia70-001.wav, nokia70-002.wav etc or what?
    2- If I use Nokia N70 as voice recorder then in what file format Nokia N70 saves the file i.e. wav, act, mid or what and what is the initial name of the file e.g. nokia70-001.wav, nokia70-002.wav etc or what?
    3- In which format Nokia N70 saves the video i.e. 3gp, mp4, avi or what which it captures and what is the initial file name of that video e.g. something like nk70-001.3gp, nk70-002.3gp etc or what.
     4- What initial file name of the JPEG photos taken from Nokia N70 like nk70-001.jpg, nk70-002.jpg etc or what.
    I'll be very thankful for the reply

    hi there
    1. I think u cannot record a call converstion from N70 out of the box
    2.ur voice records are stored as sound clip.amr
    3.video quality depends upon the settings if u set it to high it stores it in mp4 format with the file name as ur phone's date ex 20072009.mp4(today's date)
    4.same is applicable for images too ex:20072009.jpeg if u have selected as Default image name as "date" in the camera settings, if u select it as text it will ask for the desired name u want to select
    cheers..........

  • Need help with conversion progrma for MTS video files.  Can't download videos from Sony TX-10 camera

    Have new macbook pro 13".  Can't download videos from our Sony TX-10 camera.  I understand I need some kind of conversion program for MTS video files.  Need recommendation for a good conversion program to convert the video files.
    Thanks, chieftd

    Well, sigh, that's not going to work.
    I love how I can do months of research to choose the best camera for my needs and budget, which is NO easy task these days, but surprisingly find it on the unsupported list when it's a very popular camera.  So, while it seems to support a whole bunch of other AVCHD options from Sony, not the NEX cameras.
    The NEX cameras are the latest generation of mirrorless cameras (which, ironically, are great b/c they give dSLR quality still images while actually producing HD video that always records silently and stays in focus b/c it's mirrorless).  The NEX 7 was just reviewed as Camera of the Year.
    Bleh. Oh well. Maybe someday.
    And, for anyone reading, Roxio Toast Titanium did convert it just fine but it took about 20 min or my time to set up a handful of clips and then a couple hours to complete converting them for the quality I was looking for.  One was about 10 minutes of a kids' performance on Christmas and it took a long time. It's just not feasible given how many video clips I do with the camera a week - well, feasible when you consider all the cameras where this would be seamless.
    Thanks for posting your reply - I appreciate it.

  • Video files show very low resolution poster image

    Using Indesign CC and the latest tools and content viewer I am creating Autoplay video animations for the cover of our weekly magazine.
    With each issue I have published the same problem occurs where the poster image for the video file is very low resolution and makes our content look very amateur (for a brief moment) before playing the video file at full resolution.
    I have tried creating animations using flash, photoshop and Edge Animate, exporting MP4, MOV and OAM files. The problem is present with all movie files and with the Edge animation files a white flash appears before the file plays.
    Is there a solution for either of these issues? We are looking to continue to use animations for our covers and need them to look 100% crisp and clean.

    Sorry to jump in but I'm having the same issue too!
    I have an H.264 mp4 which I created in After Effects and inserted using the Media panel within DPS.
    As you see below, it plays on page load and I have chosen the finished front cover to be the poster image when it ends from within the Folio Overlays panel. I have set the video to stop on the last page.
    When the video stops you can see all the artifacting around the text which I would expect to be as crisp as the original PSD file I uploaded as the poster image.
    Is there anything I'm doing wrong or is there anything that can improve the quality of the final still?

  • Enable video file and image file thumbnails WITHOUT enabling thumbnails for other filetypes

    Hello. I am new to Mac and pulling my hair out at some of the limited UI options
    I am wanting my image-files and video-files to appear in Finder (desktop etc) as thumbnails
    However, I DON'T want PDFs, Excel, Word, PowerPoint files to have a preview thumbnail
    Basically how things are now either way, it's very cumbersome visually to distinguish between file-types while cruising around my folders with a quick glance.
    if thumbnail previews are on for all, its hard to tell at a quick glance which are PDFs, Excel files vs. images
    similarly, the little "pdf" or "xlsx" or "docx" text overlay on these previews is so small and non-color coded as to be useless for quick-glance recognition of which filetype
    if thumbnails are off, it's impossible to glance at files in a folder and know which image or video each is without wasting my precious miliseconds clicking on them, or trying to actually read truncated filenames
    Here are some possible solutions which I hope somebody knows how to do:
    globally enable or disable icon previews by filetype (preferred)
    stipulate adding overlayed mini icons to certain filetypes
    example: if it's a pdf, show the icon preview, but overlayed on that would be the red Adobe pdf icon/logo roughly a quarter of the size of the file icon (like is possible in Windows 7).
    this way image and video previews can be seen at a glance, but having a big red or green or blue logo makes for immediate recognition of filetype
    (least prefered but could help) ...somehow change the font color and increase the font size of the overlayed "pdf" "xlsx" "doc" "pptx"currently standard on these filetypes while showing icon preview but ALL are miniscule black text no matter which filetype
    I'm quite dumbfounded right now that something for better immediate-glance filetype recognition isn't standard, or at least easily Google'able. All I've found is the Either/Other bamboozle.
    Would love it to hear of a solution for this. Thanks all.

    Put all of your separate flash movies into one move, and then
    use flash to
    load the movies into a top section of the flash document.
    Your site (this page) sounds like it would be best viewed
    entirely in Flash
    (at least easiest w/o reloading).
