Regarding Conversion to date in OBIEE

I am pulling a date column from an as/400 source wherein I have two issues:
1. The date is displayed 19761027.0 (1976 is the year,10 is the month and 27 is the date). The data type is Integer. I need to convert this to date and in the following format mm/dd/yyyy
2. I need to add 26 to the year so that it shows the current year 2012.
How can I achieve this in the RPD? Which conversion function should i choose?

VikramCould you create a column where you would add the 260000 to the existing column and then join that on the date WID of the time dimension and retrieve the date from the Time dimension ? You could always use casting but this would give you better flexibility going forward if you ever needed anything from time dimension.

Use this FM CONVERSION_EXIT_PDATE_OUTPUT.This will always converts from system(YYYYMMDD) to user format.

say your user setting format is mm.dd.yyyy
now, data: v_date like sy-datum.
move the data to V_date.
write:/ v_date.
as your user setting format is mm.dd.yyyy it displays as 01.01.1997 although internally it stores as 19970101

Open conversions in data dictionary

Dear experts,
We have been trying to install an ST-PI package in an SAP system.However,it gives a warning saying "Open conversions in data dictionary". It says - Some open conversion requests still exists for the following ABAP data dictionary objects.To avoid inconsistencies and data losses you must process these conversions first.
Further it asks us to run the transaction SE14 which points towards the table GLPCA and says Index Z1 does not exist.
What can be the cause behind this?I do not have an ABAP background.So,hoping if you could help me out.

How to render XML data in OBIEE

I have requirement where XML data need to be rendered and parsed in OBIEE reports.I need some help regarding the below questions
1)How can we call the XML data in OBIEE and can we parse XML file in Text or Table formats
2)Another requirement is we need to compare two XML file(May be Stored in @ columns) and then display the Message as 'Difference' or 'NO Difference'.

Regarding Transformation and Data Transfer Process(DTP)

Dear Gurus
1) Transformation replaces the transfer rule and update rule.
2) DTP replaces the info package.
Hencse, there is a some advantages are there in Transformation and DTP.
I couldn't understand in help.sap.com.
Could you please tell me in simple language what all are the new features are there in Transformation and DTP which is not possible in Transfer rule, Update rule and infopackage.

Question regarding roaming and data usage

I am currently out of my main country of service, and as such I have a question regarding roaming and data usage.
I am told that the airplane mode is sufficient from keeping the phone off from roaming, but does this apply to any background data usage for applications and such?
If the phone is in airplane mode, are all use of the phone including wifi and application use through the wifi outside of all extra charges from roaming?

Just to elaborate here, Ann154 is referring to access charges for wifi, which is nothing to do with Verizon, so if you are using it in a plane, hotel, an internet cafe etc that charges for Wifi rather than being free . How can I custom my date in OBIEE.I want to see date in my user friendly format for Date Format MM/DD/YYYY to filter with
leading zero(number) eg (01.21.2008) and not M/D/YYYY (1.21.2008) that i am seeing.I would appreciate it if you could give me a step by step process on how to do it in RPD.I know how to change the data format in my column propeties since i have more that 5000 columns that need changed.I am looking for a localised area
that can take care of business.

Edit the following parameters in OracleBI\web\config\localedefinitions.xml
- Search for the locale that you want to customize by looking for the tag *<localeDefinition name="en">*
- Customize the following tags as you require
<property name="dateShortFormat">MM/DD/YYYY</property>
<property name="dateLongFormat">dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy</property>
- Restart the presentation server

Retrieving data from OBIEE server using ODBC

Hello.
I am having difficulty retrieving data from OBIEE 11g using the ODBC connection. My intention is to read OBIEE Server data via a SQL statement issued from an Oracle database using gateways.
I have read and followed the material here:

I have setup a gateway in Oracle and a database link. Iknow it is connecting because when I change the password to something invalid, I get a message about not being able to connect due to username/password.
I have taken a query from Answers (the advanced tab) and tried running it from Sql Developer. The nsqserver.log file ends up with the following Notification:
[nQSError: 13013] Init block, 'DUAL Num (=3)', has more variables than the query select list.
As an experiment, I am using the SampleApp, and have generated the following query in Answers:

that describes the deprecated client. I am confused by the statement there:
"one of the many widely available third-party ODBC/JDBC tools to satisfy previous NQClient functionality"
My understanding of ODBC is not very strong, so please bear with me. The statement above is talking about a client tool, but there also needs to be an ODBC driver available for BI Server. I may be a bit confused between driver and client, and what piece nq handles. I don't understand the comment about third-party ODBC when it comes to the driver piece, as that must be coded for BI Server. When I go to create a new DSN, the only driver that makes sense for me to select is:
Oracle BI Server 11g_OH<id>
That all works fine to setup a DSN. But I am unable to connect from Excel, etc., using this DSN.
Put more simply, should I be able to connect to BI Server via ODBC - not using the deprecated BI ODBC client, but using other clients? Is there ODBC connectivity at all in OBIEE 11g?

This is regarding payment terms date in MIR0 Transaction.
Actual Scenario : Pay on the 25th of the next month following the delivery, or if the 25th of the next month following the delivery has been exceeded,pay 10 days from the invoice date.
Help required with immediate attention
Brief Description Example wise:
Case1:
We have a delivery in our hand for that the billing date is consecutive month's 25th, briefly we can say that, If you raise a delivery in this month(any day of the month,i.e.,1 to 30 of the month) the payment must be done on the very next month's 25th.
Case2:
Invoice is generated and it must get fired after 10days.
If the date(Payment) is (After 10days) Less than 25th April then prefer25th
If the date(Payment) is (After 10days) Greater than
25th April then prefer higher date(>25th April).
How to include this logic in the MIRO Transaction. For this any UserExit is available please let me know.

You can do that in transaction "Manager Business Partners" / BBPMAININT. Add the purchasing org and you will be able to complete this.

Getting a odd error. This code was working perfectly before a SQLServer upgrade.
The linked database is working, I'm able to pull up data from it in separate queries just fine.
I'm getting the following error.

It is not a good idea to use string dates for predicates in WHERE clauses.
Use DATETIME or DATE in predicates.
If you are not interested in the time part of DATETIME, use DATE datatype.

Duration as a timestamp? How odd, most people would store it
as an integer. Or, if you want to build your own string, the syntax
is {ts 'yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss'}. The seconds might not be required.
In any event, use createodbcdatetime() for the value you want
to put into your table.
