Regarding data in Essbase

Question

Hi
Can anyone please clarify one small doubt about data in Essbase, if we make any changes to essbase outline like adding a new member moving a member across the outline does the data associated with the member still stays and we need to run aggregation to have the data at the parent level ?
Another doubt is if we delete a member does the data on all the other members of the out remains the same as it was ???
Any suggestions would be really helpful

Re your questions about data, the answers are in question order and assume stored members in a BSO world.
1) adding a new member <--No new data till loaded, so no impact.
2) moving a member across the outline <--If in the same dimension, the data is retained.
3) need to run aggregation to have the data at the parent level <--Yes, both at the old parent and the new. Beware of phantom data where a Never Share parent with a single child becomes a leaf member when it loses its child. That number is going to reflect the old child value and will not get automatically removed, thus double counting.
4) if we delete a member does the data on all the other members of the out remains the same as it was <--If a stored hierarchy, then yes.
The answer for all dynamically calcluated members (and I think this includes ASO, except when stored aggregations are used, but someone better than me at ASO can answer that one) is that moving the member changes the value.
