Regarding capturing VF01 ERROR logs in a background job
Hi ,
We are running a background job that calls transaction VF01 via BDC .
CALL TRANSACTION 'VF01' USING bdcdata
MODE S
UPDATE N
MESSAGES INTO gt_messtab.
In some cases billing documents will not be generated. In such cases systems will throw message "Check the log "
After which we can check the error messages via Menu Edit>logs.
This error messages (stored in XVBFS internal table) need to captured in the job log i.e custom programme.
Unfortunately i could not found any user exits/BADIs that can help me in capturing message.
Can you please help me how can i solve this issue?
Thanks in advance
Manoj

Edited by: Vinod Kumar on Nov 16, 2011 3:34 PMHi Manoj,
I had a similar problem.
I solved it selecting from VBSK the last record of the user regarding elaboration of invoices, and then calling f.m. 'VBSK_ALV_DISPLAY'.
Otherwise you could call directly transaction "V.21"
Hope this could help you

Back up first, just in case, but it shouldn't effect your library.
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

Error logs in job releases forecast from DP to SNP-"Matl does not exist"
Hi Everyone,
I am facing error logs in the batch job which releases forecast from DP to SNP
Forecast release job - Weekly - Through background job
Forecast category - FA
Error 1: - Characteristic combination appears on batch job log with an error that
"GMC does not exist " Even though it exist in R/3 and APO
All products with error message "Product does not exist" from do exist and have Forecast in Product View
Error 2: - Deleted KCC keep showing up on the Demand Forecast release job log as errors even though they are invalid KCC and were deleted previously. How do they get removed from error log so they don't get created again
Material does not exist on the APO Product Master, in R3 there is a delete flag and the MRP type is set to X1 ,it does not exist in the APO Product Master and does not exist in R3.
Request you to kindly provide any way forward which may be causing error logs of the job
Thanks in advance,
Mrigendra SharmaHi Mrigendra,
Please re-initialize the SNP planning area (program : /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE) and then check the consistency by executing the program: /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK. If you observe any inconsistency in the log/spool, then re-run the program: /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK to observe all green.
It is recommended to run the consistency program after any master data change. The initialization program should be run at least weekly.
Try transfering the data again from DP to SNP to see if the error reappear.
Hope this helps.

How can I display error log of a standard program in my custom program?
Hello Experts,
I have a requirement where I submit a standard program from my custom module pool program as a background job. I use the TO SAP-SPOOL and thus the log is available when I go to SM37 and check the spool list. I have a requirement that I display this log in a tab within my module pool after the completion of the program. I am unable to fins a proper solution to this. I have both the spool number & the log number but I am unable to find function modules which will help me print them within my program. I found many ways to display it but as full screen and not with in my program.
Could someone please help me with this.
Thank YouHi,
FM to read a spool request is "RSPO_RETURN_ABAP_SPOOLJOB".
If the error log is displayed as a list output in the standard program, you can also use the syntax SUBMIT Program... and RETURN with export to memory addition.
Then you will be able to read the list output from memory.

Error in Releasing Contracts in SRM-Error Log for user WF-BATCH
Hi,
When we are releasing contracts in SRM, an error log is being generated for a user WF-BATCH with message :
"Recipient not found
The error ocurred by processing event RELEASED_NEWLY with GUID 4530EA86C23B007700000000B0000023 and object_id= 4400000238"(Where 4400000238 is our contract no)
Also our contract is not being transported to CCM even though all the relevant configurations have been done in XI.
Is this because of the error log?? What is the issue??
Any Useful answers would be suitably rewarded..
Regards,
PuneetHello Puneet,
Please check whether u have released that contract or not.
if u need to release purchase order from the contract, it needs to be released first.
from ur problme statement, it seems u haven't released that contract.

Unable to cycle error log due to lock that will not clear
Hello,
Currently I'm having an issue with cycling the error log on two SQL Server Instances because the file is being used by another process. Simple I know but, when you try to kill the SPID it becomes hung and we are forced to restart the instance, which I want
to avoid at all costs. To give you some background we use sqldm for our monitoring of the databases and received a message that our Error log reached its max size threshold and to cycle the error log. When I executed exec sp_cycle_errorlog I'm told the following
message:
Msg 17049, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_cycle_errorlog, Line 9
Unable to cycle error log file from 'J:\MSSQL10.SQL6\MSSQL\Log\ERRORLOG.1' to 'J:\MSSQL10.SQL6\MSSQL\Log\ERRORLOG.2' due to OS error '32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.)'. A process outside of SQL Server may be
preventing SQL Server from reading the files. As a result, errorlog entries may be lost and it may not be possible to view some SQL Server errorlogs. Make sure no other processes have locked the file with write-only access."
DBCC execution completed. If DBCC printed error messages, contact your system administrator.
Then I ran the following query in instance A and found that sqldm had a active process.
SELECT *
FROM sys.dm_exec_requests a
OUTER APPLY sys.dm_exec_sql_text(a.sql_handle) b
WHERE session_id > 50
and session_id <> @@spid AND( text = 'xp_readerrorlog' OR text = 'sp_cycle_errorlog')
ORDER BY start_time a
Like I said before when I kill the SPID it became hung and remains in a rollback state (the process is not rolling back). My co-worker had this issue before on this same instance and contacted Idera for support, here was their response "The development
team provided an update regarding this case. After reviewing the code, SQLdm only reads the SQL logs information in each collection and does not lock this resource. Given the behavior that you described, this could be a problem of SQL Server 2008"
I believe they're right because we're only seeing this in these two instances. All other instances using sqldm are not reporting this problem which leads me to believe it is MS SQL Server causing it. This is where I'm stuck and that is trying to find out why
there is a lock on this file and for what reason. I used Process explorer yesterday to search for any processes that are using ERRORLOG through the Find DLL and Handle window and there were mulitple processes touching this file. When I looked today I'm seeing
now locks for this file and I still cannot cycle the error log. I ran the slect query above I'm still seeing sqldm SPID in both instances. I'm curious to see if anyone else has had this issue before whether they used sqldm or not. Any information will be helpful
in tracking this issue down.
Thank you in advance.
Process Explorer Search Results
Instance A
Instance BHi,
Generally, I use Process Explorer to find out which process is blocking the SQL Server from cycling the error log file. Open search box for ‘errorlog’ or dentify the entries with Handle or DLL as ‘your error log path’. There could be two
or more processes relating to that. One of them should be ‘sqlservr.exe’, and the others should be the culprits. Verify the process, and try to terminate it and then you should be able to run the stored procedure ‘sp_cycle_errorlog’ to cycle the
error log without restarting the SQL Server.
According to the images, there is no process found. I suggest you start the monitor and launch procexp.exe tool again and see if it makes any difference this time. If still no progress, I think you cannot avoid restating.
Thanks.

Creation of error log on input data and stat report
I am doing call transaction on <b>C202</b> transaction.my client asked me before uploading the file he needs some validations on input file and he is asking me to create a log for all the validations.i have to place error lof for all the input data.
An error log will record all errors occurring during upload. For each error the list should
contain the data (line) going in error and an error text in a subsequent column (subsequent to data). The change number used to perform the upload will be stated in the header of the error list.A txt-file containing the error log will get the same name as the input file, but with an ending err.xls.
Therefore no Batch-Input-Session is needed.
After execution of the batch input program, the following analysis regarding execution will be shown:
o Number of records in input file (including title, first line)
o Number of records successfully updated
o Number of records in error
Example:
Number of records in input file (incl. first line) 4
Number of records successfully updated: 3
Number of records in error: 0
How to do this according to client requirements.can u help me to get a statastical way to represent errors. Send me some smpale code for number of errors and no records gets success and no of failed.
Thanks

Hi All,
I am getting the below error logs in my one of my router 1760, i found in some blogs that if no cable connected in WIC then the router is reporting the following fault on the console line and it happens every 1 minute like the device is being polled but doesn't respond.
But here cables were connected into Serial and Ethernet interfaces, still i am getting the below errors.
Is anybody experinced with this problem, can someone help me please.

Regards,
Naidu.By the look of your "sh ip int bri" it is for the Eth1/0 interface not your serial.
What's plugged into the other end of that link? Have you checked it is the correct encapsulation? eg if it is a trunk, are both sides configured to be a trunk (and also both isl or dot1q)?
If it is going to a switch have you checked port security? (it may have autorecover set for 1 min which is why it keeps flapping).....
Could also be a break in the cable which causes it to be unidirectional and UDLD may be brinking it down? -
Error logging when running SSIS on SQL Server Agent
I have SSIS package running on SQL Server Agent Job.
When I'm running it, I get error and I'm urget to see History Logs.
When look Error logs in SQL Server Object Explorer, I don't find errors on this day.
Where should I look for error messages related to SSIS. Any thing to be configured on Management Studio or Data Tool?
Kenny_IHi Kenny_I,
As Russ posted, you need to expand the toggle to see the detailed information when viewing the Job history. Please see the screenshot below:
Besides, you can also edit the Job step, and switch to the Advanced tab to specify a job output file to log the detailed package execution failure information. The screenshot is for your reference:

ORA-02291 - ORA-02063 on merge with dml error logging through DB link
Hello all,
I have 2 DB's and I would like to merge records from A into B with dml error logging through a db link.
Exemple:
merge into B@dblink
using (select ... from A where...)
when matched then
when not matched then
log errors into err$_A reject limit unlimited;
When I use this, and exception is thrown:
ORA-02291: integrity constraint (B.constraint_name) violated - parent key not found
ORA-02063: preceding line from dblink
I've got no idea of what causes this.
Could anyone please help me ?
Thanks !
Regards,
TDE.Hello damorgan,
Thanks for your answer.
I've well understood that its was a foreign key violation, and I guess that's an error in the source: wee make only logical deletes, and I'm quite sure the problem is there.
Anyway, I really would understand why dml error logging doesn't work in this case.
I'll investigate and keep you informed.
Regards.
