Regarding ICMP "Packet Too Big" message in 6PE RFC 4798

Dear All,
The penultimate para in Section 3, Page 6 of 6PE RFC 4798 states the following:
"Otherwise, routers in the IPv4 MPLS network have the option to generate an ICMP "Packet Too Big" message using mechanisms as described in Section 2.3.2 .... of [RFC3032]"
As per RFC3032, the routers in the IPv4 MPLS network can generate ICMP "Time Exceeded" message or "Destination Unreachable because fragmentation needed and DF set" message.
Can someone please explain, how a IPv4 MPLS router will generate an ICMP "Packet Too Big"? This requires that the router in IPv4 MPLS network be a dual stack router to understand the IPv6 header under the label stack. Is my understanding correct?
If the router is an intermediate LSR, how will it know the path to the IPv6 destination even if it is dual stack router?

Sriram,
The IPv4 core router does need to have code to understand IPv6 and create the "Packet too big" message and so on. It does not need to be configured for IPv6 though (dual stack).
The forwarding will be done based on the incoming label stack for that IPv6 packet, which means that the ICMPv6 message will be constructed with the source of the original packet as the destination IPv6 address, the top label for the incoming IPv6 packet will be swapped, prepended to the ICMPv6 message and forwarded through the egress interface. The egress PE will received this ICMPv6 message and forwarding appropriately.
The same mechanism is used when performing traceroutes in an L3VPN context, as the core routers have no knowledge of the address space being used by the L3VPN customers and couldn't otherwise forward ICMP messages to the proper source.

Exporting a sequence and getting an Error file too big message

I have tried to export a sequence using Quicktime conversion. It is a two minute clip and I keep getting an "Error, File too big" message. Does anyone know what can be happening?

What exactly are you exporting to? Settings, codec, data rate? What drive are you exporting to? How is it formatted?

Disk image of HD -- "image/device too big"

I'm trying to make a disk image of my hard drive as a backup. I did this with the other three Macs in my house, using Disk Utility and saving them to an external Firewire drive. No problem. But when I try to do the same thing with my G5, I get a message saying "image/device is too big." If I was getting this message from my wife, I guess I'd be flattered ... from my Mac, not so much.
The thing is, I should have plenty of room. The external drive has 139 GB of space available and the G5 is only using 51GB. Get Info says I have 148 GB capactiy and about 97 GB available. Does the external drive need room for the whole 148 GB to create the disk?
The main difference between the other operations and the troublesome one is that I save the other Disk Images using my G5 running MacOS 10.4.11. The other Macs all were running 10.3.9. I'd access them in Target Mode on my G5 and save the Disk Image. When I tried to reverse the process and used the newest 10.3.9 machine (a G4) to save a dmg of my G5, I get the "too big" message.
Any suggestions? Would Carbon Copy Cloner (or something else) allow me to do this from the G5? Any help would be appreciated.

A protocol message was rejected because it was too big (more than 100663296 bytes). To increase the limit (or to disable these warnings), see CodedInputStream::SetTotalBytesLimit() in google/protobuf/io/coded_stream.h.
we have increased the value of
List of Values Batch size = 4000
Maximum list of Valuses Size = 100000
Still we are facing the same issue.
Please let me know what could be the issue as other reports are working fine.

Hi Balaji,
Yes, However at times issues do appear due to "ulimit" settings.
Also this error comes from maximum size of protobuf packets, which are exchanged
between WIPS and DSLBridge service.
It seems that data being retrieved might have increased.
Tune the BICSResultChunkSize value to an appropriate one.
******Please take a backup of registry before doing the cahnges.
1. Open the Windows Registry
a. Click Start > Run. The Run dialog box appears
b. Type #regedit# in the Open: text box. Click OK. The Registry Editor appears
c. navigate to the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\default\WebIntelligence\Calculator]
2. right click, select New > String Value and name it BICSResultChunkSize and value (e.g. 4000) lower than default 100000 lines
3. close the Windows Registry
4. Restart the Web Intelligence Processing Server and the Adaptive Processing Servers that host the DSL Bridge Service

Reports getting error message that they are too big

When modifying a standard report and adding dimensions keep getting warning message indicating that the report is too big.
Is there a limit to the number of lines?

Hi Neel,
Administrators set a SPM UI property that will warn business user when the report they are trying to execute exceeds specified number or cells. This cell limit will depend on how your JAVA server is sized. Also SPM being an analytical application setting this too high may cause performance issue. Use the following menu path to get to this property
Administration -> Analysis Administration -> Application properties -> General tab -> Cell limit for Large Reports

Pages simply won't support a table with that many rows. If you need that many, you must use another application.
Perhaps the originator could use a tabbed list rather than a table. That's the only way you will be able to contain a list that long in Pages. You can do the conversion yourself if you open the Word document in LibreOffice, Copy the Table, Paste the Table into Numbers, Export the Numbers doc to CSV, and import to Pages. In Pages Find and Replace the Commas with Tabs.
There are probably other ways, but that's what comes to mind here.

Sadly, this is Windows machine so I dont have a non-iOS version of iMovie. I have 2 ideas left. The first is xfering the project to my iPhone 4 and trying to export it there (if that works, awesome but geez apple the iPad 2 is way more powerful than the iphone 4.. youd think I wouldnt even have to attempt this). The 2nd idea is to start at the end of my movie and delete clips and sounds backwards, trying to export each time to find whatever clip is causing the issue (when the movie was 5 minutes it mixed no probem, so I only need to go that far).

The default height of message box is too big

Slideshow issue - message "file too big"

I have 120 photos in my slideshow, around 350 MB only. But when trying to save on usb, message saying file is 7.3 GB (too big). After I took away a couple of pictures, it saved - final size is only 395 MB. How can 2 photos make that much difference in size! Is there a glitch with iphoto?

First, you need to show folders and files which are normally invisible. To do this, open Terminal in Utilities and copy/paste
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool true
Hit return, then copy/paste
killall Finder
and hit return again.
Next hit Cmd-Shift-G and enter ~/Library/Mail and hit return
Open the triangle next to Mail and look for a file named
.OfflineCache file
and move it to the Trash. If this file exists, doing this will probably fix the problem.
You will need to reverse the show hidden command by just adding false to it, instead of true and them killall Finder again.

Please call your service provider to find out if there are any limitations on attachment sized for your phone plan.

Import Message - Files Too Big

While doing my initial import, I got a message the end that about 8 of my 1000 or so photos were not imported because they were too big. I'm leaving the photos on my NAS drive (not moving them). What's the problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

No files 10K pixels a side or larger will be imported regardless of Mb size.

You will either a) need to connect to WiFi and complete the download or b) dock your iPad and remove it from the apps list once synced (your iTunes will more then likely want to complete the download first also, which you may be able to cancel in the downloads section).

We are on SAP R/3 4.6C (kernel 46D 64 bit pacth 2113 with last DBLS library, AIX 5.2, DB2 7.1 on z/os 1.4) and for a BW extraction we have the following dump:
"ABAP runtime error DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_RSQL, RSQL error 13 occurred.
The following message also appears in the developer trace:
B *** ERROR => dbtran ERROR (set_input_da_spec): statement too big
B marker count = 1195 > max. marker count = 726."
For the OSS note 655018 the limit of marker count is 2000, but in the trace of work process we read 726.
