Regarding query program

Hi,
I have a requirement in which i have to add 1 more column to a ALV reporte that was created based on a query (SQ01). But the problem is that the query was deleted.
Does anybody know how to rebuild the query from the program? Or could anybody tell me which would be a better solution for this?
Regards,
Roberto

I think it is not possible to create a SQ01 from report. My suggestion will be alter the report as per your needs

• SQ01: Creating Front end for a set of query programs

Hi,
I need to create a front end to display a set of queries or query programs.
We can use SQ01 to open all queries, but my task is to create a front end
and let the users only acccess the queries i want( e.g some 50 queries).
Using the new front end users should be able to access only these 50 queries.
Any ideas.
Thanks,
Rao

Hi Rao,
Assign that particular user group or the role to the infoset of those query using SQ02. In this way they will be able to access those queries.

• ABAP QUERY PROGRAM OUTPUT SHOULD DISPLAY FROM SAP SCRIPT.

THIS IS MY URGENT REQUIREMENT ...
I DONT KNOW ABAP QUERY PROGRAM ..
PLEASE SUGGEST ME A WAY ON THIS ....
Functional requirements
Introduction
The wish of the customer is a printable customer overview. All desired fields will be shown in a new query called ZZADDRSS_CO. Double entries are taken for granted because of the data taken from the sales area and because of multiple contact persons. The customer accepts this. It should be made possible that the user creates and saves its own variant.
A second overview is needed, another ABAP will be developed for this requirement. This ABAP will show all the customer data and this list will have the possibility to be printed.
Solution
New Query ZZADDRESS_CO
The desired fields of attachment 1 need to be shown in the query.
The selection criteria are shown in attachment 2.
The column names of the additional data have to changed in the query.
Customer Overview.
Functional specification.
On behalf of this customer overview a standard SAP transaction will be used (transaction VC/2).This transaction will be extended.
The fields are shown on screen with the described headers. Printing of the overview will be done via SAP script. The script makes use of a fixed layout of the data.
The selection criteria are specified in attachment 2.
The layout of the customer overview and the SAP Script are specified in attachment 3.
Specification.
The next steps need to be performed.
1. A routine per infoblock need to be created in Include RV77UNNN. In this routine the data is retrieved and written down to the screen and script,
Example LST1_901 . In include RV77SNNN you can find the standard infoblocks.
2. Adapt via transaction SE16 table TFRM.
3. Create a new view in the customizing (sales and distribution- Sales support-sales summary-Assign Reporting Views).Assign the new view to the infoblocks.(Example view 001 is assigned to block 901).
4. In customizing it is not possible to assign the correct window and element to the infoblock .so this is done via SE16 in table T182A.
5.     Adapt script. Copy script SD-SALES-SUMMARY to a Z-SALES_SUMM.
Assign this new version to the new view in customizing. Create in the main window the element who writes the data on behalf of the print.

• Regarding Query/Where box in oracle forms

Hi,
I have a query regarding query/where box in oracle.
When I enter ":" in one of the field query box pops up and when I enter some query and press F12 to execute query.
The OK button has to be pressed twice to retrieve the result.
Can anyone please let me know why this is happening, instead of retreiving results at one go by pressing OK once.
When does query box pos up? I have to avoid hitting OK button on query box twice.
Thanks for your advice in advance.
Thanks,
KLC

• Query regarding RSTXSCRP program

Hi All Form experts,
This is one doubt which is really confusing me.
When we export/ import a form using teh program RSTXSCRP, if the form has different languages, say EN, Ja and Chinese, if we want to export/import only one language version to/from our Pc, is it possible?
I tried exporting just the JA lang version of a form to my PC but again all the lang versions seem to be exported. Please find the screen shot/output of the program:
Language vector used: NEDO1J
Definition E exported
Original language E exported
Language J exported
Object was exported
Please Help me out in this regard.
Regards
Priya

Thanks Naimesh.
So you do mean to say that we can export/import only the original language version of the form and not the translated versions. Right?
If it is so, if the form has original lang as EN and 2 other languages in translation , say, JA or Chinese, then is it possible to import only the original language from our PC to SAP?
Regards,
Priya

• Suggestion regarding query

Hi,
I have a requirement to select two columns from 6 million rows which is one database, and go through the result set, take the one of the column value as the criteria and select another column from 10000 rows table.
I have used two methods to work. Both are working but they are very slow.
I am using jdbc for this.
First method:
Following is the pseudo code for the same
--Select all rows from the table 1
while (rs.next())
String column1= rs.getString(1);
String Query 2= "Select column2 from table 2 where my_field=column1";
--prepare the statement1 using query2
-- execute the statement1 and copy in to rs1
-- while (rs1.next())
do something
Second method:
In this one instead of querying the database for each row in the first resutl set, used a stored procedure which returns a ref cursor taking the array as the input string.
create or replace type mylist as table of varchar2(20);
create or replace type outlist as table of BLOB;
create or replace package my_pkg
as
type rc is ref cursor;
procedure p(myval_list in mylist, outcur OUT rc);
end;
create or replace package body my_pkg
as
PROCEDURE get_phonetype(myval_list IN imeilist,orefcur OUT rc )
AS
l_data outlist := outlist();
tmp_profile BLOB;
BEGIN
--DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line(myval_list.COUNT);
FOR i IN myval_list.FIRST .. myval_list.LAST
LOOP
BEGIN
SELECT column1 INTO tmp_profile FROM table1 WHERE
column2 IN (SELECT column2
FROM table2
WHERE (column3< myval_list(i) AND column4 > myval_list(i)));
--DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line(tmp_phone);
l_data.extend;
l_data(i) := tmp_profile;
EXCEPTION
WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND
THEN
NULL;
END;
END LOOP;
open outcur for
select * from TABLE( cast (l_data as outlist));
END;
END;
in the java program:
--Select all rows from the table 1
while (rs.next())
--loop few times to populate the column1 string arrays
OracleCallableStatement stmt1=(OracleCallableStatement)conn.prepareCall("{call p(?,?)}");
-- register the out parameter as ORACLETYPES.CURSOR
--prepare the array descriptor for the array, set the array using column1 values
-- set the first argument as array
-- retrieve the result set
--do something with the result set
} //end of while
I thought using the stored procedure would make my process faster, but the second approach deteriated the execution time.
I could not understand where I did the mistake. FOr the 200000 rows for the first table, first approach executed in 10 minutes and the second was taking more than hours.
Can some one help me in fine tuning the stored procedure or suggest an alternative best method.
Regards,
Syam

Syam,
Not knowing your table data or the whole of the queries you're making, this may not be feasible. But could you write this as either a single (albeit complex) query, or perhaps a PL/SQL block that uses a temp table or two, but still does all of the processing in Oracle as queries, not loops?
From the examples you gave, it looks like putting it into one query would just involve a few table joins. But they look like you abbreviated some more complex processing...

• Performance of ABAP query program

Hi All,
A custom program AQNWZ_TALAT=====TCS_AP_ITEMS== is taking lot of time running. And when checked the cost of the select statement is very high.
I guessed it must be some custom abap query. Correct me if I am wrong.
Also please let me know how to do the performance tuning on this code? Should I be editing the program directly or should I edit at the abap query level.

>A few tips you can use for finetuning a Report
The actually a good collection of the most important pain points. But the recommendations are unfortunately quite poor, and even wrong. I have updated them a little bit.
And for German speaking people I have added a reference to a textbook, where arll my recommendations are explained in detail.
Siegfried
1) Use mostly primary key to access data.
... nonsense, the task determines the WHERE clause, it is not your choice
2) Before READ u sort the itab
No
3) use mostly the indexes fields in ur where clause.
... as 1, it is the other way, the task determines the WHERE-clause, make surwe that there is an index which
supports it
4) Restrict the the fields retrieved by your select sentences to the minimal set. (Avoid select *)
nonsense, most SELECT use and must use *, use field list in wide tables
5) try to use specify where clause so the abap sql optimizer chooses the right index.
o.k., but who understands that in depth?
6) Avoid sentences like select lifnr name1 into corresponding fields of lfa1 from lfa1 where....
feel free to use if required
(You should declare a working area and select into the working area, is twice faster)
... such general statements are always incorrect
7) use hashed tables instead of standard tables. They are faster
no, use sorted tables, hashed are very special and can only be used if there is a unique key
8) avoid the use of collect as much as you can.
total nonsense, use collect with hashed tables, works perfect, if you use it with standard tables, do not mix it with other statements
1 Always check the driver internal tables is not empty , while using FOR ALL ENTRIES
100% correct
2 Avoid for all entries in JOINS
... not generally true
3 Try to avoid joins and use FOR ALL ENTRIES.
... hmmm, there are pages of discussions, this statement was wrong, is wrong and will be wrong!!!
4 Try to restrict the joins to 1 level only ie only for 2 tables
nonsense, joins are complicated, you must know hw indexes are used, if everything is fine, then 10 or 20 tables can be joined
5 Avoid using Select *.
see 4)
6 Avoid having multiple Selects from the same table in the same object.
... try to avoid to SELECT the same data, different criteria can be necessary
7 Try to minimize the number of variables to save memory.
... obvious,
8 The sequence of fields in 'where clause' must be as per primary/secondary index ( if any)
... no is must not the optimizer will not be influenced be the order , but do it, it increases readability
9 Avoid creation of index as far as possible
... no, o.k. if you are not experienced than avoid ... otherwise the creation of the required indexes is absolutely mandatory for new tables, for SAP standard tables most indexes are already there. But still if very new accesses are added, then new indexes can become necessary.
10 Avoid operators like , > , < & like % in where clause conditions
... no, you must add them, but be aware that the search is only poorly supported by them, but the result set is reduced.
11 Avoid select/select single statements in loops.
... if they are going to the database! If the tables are buffered, then these statements are perfect!
12 Try to use 'binary search' in READ internal table. Ensure table is sorted before using BINARY SEARCH.
.... Actually try to avoid standard tables, use sorted tables instead. If you must use a standard table, than the recommendation is true.
13 Avoid using aggregate functions (SUM, MAX etc) in selects ( GROUP BY , HAVING,)
.... no, use them if required. Again, if table is buffered, then they MUST be avoided.
14 Avoid using ORDER BY in selects
... if it is not ORDER BY PRIMARY KEY. Again, if the table is buffered, then other orders MUST be avoided.
15 Avoid Nested Selects
... use join. Again, if the tables are buffered, then Nested SELECTs are fine!
16 Avoid Nested Loops of Internal Tables
.... impossible, there is no other option. Use sorted tables and verything is fine!
17 Try to use FIELD SYMBOLS.
... what means try? Use ASSIGNING fieldsymbol in LOOPs, but use it in READs only for very wide tables (>1kB). Use it always for tables with tables in the workarea!
18 Try to avoid into Corresponding Fields of
... see 6) is wrong!
19 Avoid using Select Distinct, Use DELETE ADJACENT.
.... no, use it if required and if it can reduce the result set by a factor of 2 or more. Again, if table is buffered, then it MUST be avoided.

Hi!
I have developed a report with ABAP query in development server with transaction codes SQ01, SQ02 AND SQ03 respectively.
program is generated from SQ01 and i also got the program name from SQ01.
Now how to attach a transaction code with the program that is generated from ABAP query and transport it to production server
successfully.
points to be rewarded .

• Process ABAP query program

Hi
1:When I change a program which was created by an Query, I got this information:"The object is in a namespace that is reserved for generated objects. Flag object as generated? "can I press Yes?
2. where to find the development class for an existing program?
thanks a lot! kitty

Hi kitty,
1. can I press Yes ?
yes ofcourse, but it will ask for
modification / access key
bcos, when we generate a query,
behind the scenes, sap generates a se38 program,
in its own namesapce (ie not y,z)
Its a standard program now.
We are not allowed to modify it !
2. Suppose u modify,
then again u modify ur query,
then the program may be over written !
(its better to copy paset the source code
of the program in Y program and use this new program)
3.
where to find the development class for an existing program?
open the program in se38 in display mode.
GOTO  -
> OBJECT DIRECTORY ENTRY

• Infotype 0120 - changes in adhoc query program

Hi All,
I have to make some code changes for the std infotype 0102 - Grievances NA in the adhoc query. My requirement is :-
1) A range from 000-999 should be available for each Employee for the Grievance Number field. P0102-GRNUM.
2) If a record already exists for the employee for a particular Grievance Number -GRNUM(e.g - 467) and Stage- GRSTG(e.g.- Stage1), the system should not allow to enter another record with the same Grievance Number and Stage for the same employee.i.e. No duplication should be allowed. i.e only 3 records for 1 Grievance Number as there are only 3 stages.
Please advice me how to proceed for the same.
Thanks & Regards,
Preeti

hi
Its not getting clear that u want the changes for ADhoc query or in pa30.
if u want validations in adhoc query as u have mentioned in the question
u need not to go to a user exit.
In adoc query itself u can incorporate these changes
u can go to infoset of this query and write a abap code which checks the Infotype 102 for the grievance no.
If u want the validation on while creating the record then u have to use user exit ZXPAUD01 or can use BADI's also .

• Help needed regarding Dynamic Programming

Hi,
While doing dynamic programming , we bind the context variable with two types of
values .
1 . ddic
2 . extern
My doubt is in which case we should use ddic and where to use extern .
Can anybody help me out regarding this.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Ki,
Predefined, Web Dynpro UI-specific, and user-defined Dictionary types all have the
prefix ddic:.
wdContext.getNodeInfo()
.addAttribute(
"Visibility",
"ddic:com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Visbility")
•Logical Dictionary types from Adaptive RFC models have the prefix extern:.

• Regarding Query Performance.

Please tell me ..
How can i check the performance of query using index and without using index?

Hi,
As deepak said, query with and without index.
to get the cost and access path of the query get explain for the query. Read the Oracle docs
[http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14211/ex_plan.htm]
It is common to all the version from 9i as far as I know.
do
SQL> set autotrace on
SQL> run your query
you will get the explain plan and cost information in the sql prompt if the statistis_level is set to typical or all
