Regarding Session execution in Background

Hi Gurus
While I am uploading the flat file using vb01 tc in Back ground using submit rsbdcsub, I am facing the following problems:
By execute the program,The session is creating with no "new" or "error" status.
This is Happening because when I tried in foreground the records are processing after I pressed the "save" button only. This is happening for all records.even though the records are mapping absolutely properly I need to press save button each time to process that record. By the "enter" key it is not processing.
Beacuse my requirement is to process the records in Background I required no user interaction while processing.
How can I resolve this.
Your suggestions and views are highly encouragable.
Please respond quickily.
Regards,
Kumar

Are you doing LSMW or BDC? if you are using recording then you must have missed the saving of it.
let me know more details.

    search for the OSS Note.
In 4.6C you need to create a Z program ( code given in OSS Note ), it will take the spool number as parameter.
Further you also need to crate a new page format ( Xn SPAD) by copying a standard one ...like Z_65_340
That also need to be attached with the printer device type ..for local SAPWIN.
While specifying the job in SM36, in print specification , specify the new wider page format.
Further , aftre the job is run , check our the spool number created and then see the spool using the OSS - Z program.
    No guarantee though

  • How to run the Batch input session(SM35) in background thru Report program

    Hi Experts,
I am working in one modification report requirement ,the report is Mass upload will update and run the file via batch input session. The client requirement is to implement the report execution in background mode , the batch input session will process automatically (ie. the job runs the batch input session in background and process the session ends).
Currently, the report calls SM35 to write a batch input session and the user manually selects the session and record the transactions.
Once the Transaction enters and the selection-screen inputs are given, then the transaction executed in background mode and all the above batch input process to be implemented.
Please advise and guide me, how to proceed.
I need your guidance to proceed via Call transaction using bdcdata statement, if it can be achieved the requirement.
    Thanks & Regards
    San.

    Hi Arabind Prasad,
    Thanks for your inputs.
I know the process of the report Execution in background and job steps.
I want the inputs for how to upload thru Batch input session in background job and the session should also processed automatically
Currently the report logic declared like call transaction 'SM35' and skip first screen.Once the report (tcode) executed (not in background) It writes one session in SM35. The user should select the session and process the transaction manually.
The new requirement is, if the report (tcode) executes in background mode...what and how the batch input session should be declared and how it process automatically (like you said mode 'N').
Hope I am clear in my query.
    Please advise.
    Regards
    San.

  • COPA Report - Execution in Background

    Friends,
We have a COPA report that takes very long time to execute. For this reason the user wants to schedule the report such that it executes in the background at month-end.
In order to test the scheduling of the report execution in background in Development system, I followed the following steps:
    1) Selected the report to be executed using the t-code KE30.
    2) Clicked on Report - Execute in background.
    3) Filled in the execution parameters and since I did not want the print of the report, I ticked the checkbox 'Rebuild frozen report data' (I was getting the error message "Select either 'Print' or 'Save'".
    4) Executed the report by pressing F8. I got the message 'Report data for the report saved'.
My question is how to view the report on screen when the report is executed in background?
    Please advise at the earliest.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Sameer
You cannot see this data as it is.
When you see the message 'Report data for the report saved'. It means that the system has performed a kind of summarization for the selection criteria you have entered. This is performance enhancement tool.
So you have to run the report again to view this report; but  this time choose the option Read saved Data for the Read Mode under Status of Data. You can get to the see report output fairly quick.
SAP documnetation reads thus " <b>You create report-specific frozen report data by executing the report in the background and by choosing the Rebuild frozen report data option in the selection.  When you call up the report again using the same selection, you have the option of displaying this frozen report data. If you would like more up-to-date frozen report data, you need to create this data again."</b>
    Good luck.

    Hi,
How to Resubmit a BDC session in the background
    Thanks,

    Hi,
If you need to submit a BDC session in the background you can use report RSBDCSUB. It takes the bBDC session name as input and will run it through the system again for you in the background.
    reward if helpful...

I am unable to access iTunes.  Receive error regarding data execution prevention.  I've changed the Performance Options to exclude DEP for iTunes and I've tried unloading/reloading.  Still no success.  Suggestions?

Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

  • Error in batch session processing in background mode

    Hi ,
I am trying to do data transfer using batch session for transaction FD32.
Here the batch session is executing when I am processing the session in foreground.
Whereas in background mode it is failing.
    Please check and assit.
    Regards
    Kishore

    Hi Kishore,
Probably it will be some information or warning message which is coming in the background execution of the session.
That is the reason your session is going into error. Run the errored out session once again in foreground mode. You will get to know the reason of failure.
Please let us know of any doubts.
    Cheers

  • Scheduling function module execution in background jobs

    Hi,
I have requirement where in after obtaining all the required inputs from the user we will call an function module to execute it.
The requirement is that the execution of fm shld happen in background and a log must be created showing the user whther it was successful or if it failed with the list of errors.
Can you kindly give some input on how to schedule the execution of function module in background job and if scheduled how to create the logs to display the success or error message.
    Warm Regards,
    Naveen M

    Hi,
Just create a simple program where you have to call this FM.
Pass the values to FM either by declaring some internal table of selection screen and execute the program in background.
For Message Log, you can use structurre BDCMSGCOLL
DATA:   MESSTAB LIKE BDCMSGCOLL OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
After Call to FM, read from this internal table as follows
READ TABLE MESSTAB WITH KEY MSGTYP = <Message Type>
                                            MSGNR  = <Message Number>.

  • Regarding sessions in Jsp

    Hi All,
I have developed one web application using JSP's, which is accessed by more than 500 employees at a time. today i noticed that some employees getting another employee data, who is also accessing at same time. i am not able understand what is reason behind this? while retrieving data from database, i am checking with employee code every where.
and one more thing, my JSP having three frames in a single page. sometimes one frame is refreshing and another frame is not refreshing.
is this situation related sessions or cookies or cache data....
i am using Tomcat 6 as my web server.
please suggest me, what are the precautions i need to take while releasing a application into the web.

The code is not thread safe. This can only be caused by poor written code logic without solid background knowledge. For example holding a request/session scoped reference as a servlet instance variable, or as a static variable or as an application scoped bean, etcetera.

  • Doubt regarding SQL execution

    Hi Friends,
    Am using Oracle 10g DB - 10.2.0.3.0
I have some basic doubts regarding sql query execution by Oracle.
Say, Am executing a query from a toad/sqlplus session for the first time, it takes 10 secs then 1 sec and so on.
Same thing happens for every 15 minutes.(Any specific reason for this ??).
It takes more time when it executes first because of parsing and all those stuff but from then on it picks from the
shared pool right??.. How long will it be there in Shared Pool does Oracle maintain any specific time period to clear that query from shared pool memory. How does Oracle handle this.
Another thing is, say, I have a report query, I run this query monthly. What will be the execution time when I run this query each and every month. Will Oracle parse this query everytime I run. How do I improve the performance in this situation (May sound odd :)).

    Marlon

It takes more time when it executes first because of parsing and all those stuff but from then on it picks from the
shared pool right??.. How long will it be there in Shared Pool does Oracle maintain any specific time period to clear that query from shared pool memory. How does Oracle handle this. Share Pool caches the SQL statement. So when you execute the same SQL for the second time it goes for a soft parse. But this is not the only reason for the query to execute faster the second time. The time difference between a soft parse and hard parse is very minimal. So it really does not matter unless you are executing the same query several number of times.
The thing that really matters is the Data Buffer Cache. That is the rows that are selected by your query are cached into the Data buffer that is available in the SGA. So for the next time when you run the same query the IO is reduced as the data is available in the memory and you don't have to go to your disk to get the data.
But the data in Data Buffer is not persistent, meaning it follows the FIFO rule. That is first in first out. When the Data Buffer is full the content of the buffer is removed in the FIFO order.
Another thing is, say, I have a report query, I run this query monthly. What will be the execution time when I run this query each and every month. Will Oracle parse this query every time I run. How do I improve the performance in this situation (May sound odd :)). Like the Data Buffer the Shared Pool is also maintained in the FIFO order. So if the query is still in the Shared Pool the query will be soft parsed else it will be hard parsed. But its very rare that you will have a query in your Shared Pool for a month.

  • Foreground Execution Vs. Background Execution

    Hi all,
I've a program, when executed in the foreground, it's taking few seconds for the output to be displayed. But, when i execute in the background, it's taking longer time.
My question is what might be the reason for such difference in execution times?

    Hi pavan,
    1. JOB Class
    2. By default the Job class =  C
    3. So, put this as A
    <b>A - High priority</b>
    B-  Middle priority
    C - Low priority
