Regarding SP3 Update

Hi
We are working on HANA SP2. Now need to update SP3.
Can you please tell me what are the steps to be followed and the necessary documents to be referenced.
Regards
magalingam

Hello,
Q1: Where do we find the current version information ? for example HANA SP2 and Patch information Any command available to see that?
A:Login as SIDADM navigate to HANA DB Directory and execute HDB version
Q2: Regarding Server Installation and Update Guide  (I need to check)
-> Should i have to execute Hdbsetup or hdbupd command for Update SP3?
-> where does these command exist? in media software or in already existing system?
Q3:Automatic update guide. Should i have to setup SAP HANA components for Automatic update?
->The automated update is performed with the Software Update Manager (SUM) for SAP HANA, which is part of the Software Logistics Toolset (SL Toolset). The Software Update Manager for SAP HANA downloads new Support Package Stacks (SPS) for SAP HANA from the SAP Service Marketplace (SMP) and updates the components in your SAP HANA system. You need to have SAP Host Agent 7.20 SPS77 installed in the SAP HANA system. The SAP Host Agent must be configured to use SSL. If your SAP HANA system is installed from the official installation DVD, this prerequisite is not required.
Q4: Any idea to find out if the already installed systems is distributed or single? I can see only one path with SID in engine../usr/sap/HXX/
pls advice
PS: Support Package Stacks (SPS) can be downloaded and applied to appliances according to agreements with the respective hardware partner.
SAP HANA appliance software is available in different editions:
u2022 SAP HANA appliance software platform edition
u2022 SAP HANA appliance software enterprise edition
u2022 SAP HANA appliance software enterprise extended edition
Mannual Update SPS03
Before manually updating the SAP HANA components, make sure that no read or write processes are running. Perform the manual update process in offline mode during a business downtime.
1. Stop all processes.
2. Make a backup if necessary.
3. Update the SAP HANA components
4. Restart all processes.
If you need the guide please provide me your email...

  • Change to Exchange 2010 after SP3, Update 5 installed

After updating Exchange 2010 from SP3 Update 2 to Update 5, a change has occurred for users with SendAs and Full Access to other mailboxes. Version 14.3 (build 123.4).
Before the Update, after giving a user these permissions to another user's mailbox, the mailbox would show in their Outlook 2010 client, and everything worked as expected.
After Update 5 was installed, when users select the other user's mailbox, they get a message "the folders are not available," or the connection to the Exchange server is not working." They can access their own mailbox with no issues.
The other mailbox has to be added to the Outlook client via Account Settings, Account Settings, Change, More Settings, Advanced tab, Add the other mailbox. The mailbox then shows up twice on the client, but only the one that has been added works,
the original still gives the same error.
    Lou H.

    Hi,
I have seen some people have the same issue with you. After upgrading to Rollup 5, they need to add others' mailboxes that they have full access permission and send as permission manually on Outlook. But when they upgrade Outlook to 2010 SP2, this issue
is solved. I recommend you upgrade your Outlook to 2010 SP2 and check the result.
Besides, I'm not sure what changes after Rollup 5 lead to this issue, there is no official article explain it, thanks for your understanding.
    Hope it helps.

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 Update 7 breaks OWA for some IE11 users

I had issues earlier with OWA on some clients running Internet Explorer 11 (as
documented in this thread), and managed to resolve it by disabling compatiblity mode in IE11.
After SP3 Update Rollup 7 the issue came back, and no tinkering with the compatibility mode will solve it.
Have anyone encountered this issue before? The issue only appears on certain machines in their own AD OU as well as own subnets.

    Hi,
I haven't heard that Exchange 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 7 has this issue so far. In your case, I would like to verify if you remove all interim updates for Exchange 2010 SP3 before installing Rollup 7. If no, remove it and check the result.
Here is a kb for your reference.

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 6 breaks first OWA login (timezone selection) on SBS 2011

The Exchange 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 6 broke the OWA for Users who access OWA for the first time and have to set a timezone. They get this error:
    Request
    Url: https://xxxxx:443/owa/languageselection.aspx
    User: xxxxxx
    EX Address: /o=First Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=xxxxx

    This Server is an SBS2011.
The update broke nothing on a "normal" 2008R2 with exchange 2010.
Uninstalling RU6 helped but thats obviously not the desired way.
Removing the RenderTimeZoneSelection() call from languageselection.aspx obviously helped but then there is no timezone dropdown displayed anymore. The timezone dropdown is working normaly in other places like ecp. Afaik this error occours only in the languageselection.aspx
file which is displayed for "new" OWA users. (Users without a timezone set)
my workaround was to set the language and timezone for these mailboxes via exchange shell.

  • XP SP3 updater wrongly targets "F:" drive rather than "C:", won't install.

I have a new, Leopard based Intel Mac set up with Boot Camp and XP.
Both methods of upgrading to XP SP3 are failing. I have upgraded to the v2.1 drivers for Boot Camp, of course. When I try to install SP3 either from Microsoft Update or from a standalone installer, the installer reaches a point where it complains about a lack of space to perform the installation, but the drive letter it is complaining about it is "F:" drive, which of course is one of the several "unreadable" partitions left over by virtue of XP not understanding the "Mac side" of the computer existing. My XP installation has a perfectly good C: drive partition, and it's what I'm booting and running the installer from. Why isn't the XP SP3 installer targeting the right partition?

The workaround is a Windows registry thing.
    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup
    3. Check for a Key labelled "BootDir". Edit it if it exists, if not create one per the next steps. You may find the entry is already there with the value "F:\" rather than "C:\" - this is the bug.
    4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and click String Value.
    5. In the text box under the Name column, type BootDir and press ENTER.
    6. Right-click the name BootDir, and then click Modify.
    7. In the Edit String Value dialog box, type the drive letter for your system drive, and then click OK. For example, if your system drive is C:, type C:\.
    7. Close Registry Editor.
DO NOT REBOOT WINDOWS or this registry entry will default back to "F:\".
    8. Run the previously downloaded SP3 updater.

  • GAL updates but OAB doesn't on E2K10 after SP3 update

Ours was an E2K3 to E2K10 migration.  We went live on E2K10 SP1.  After moving all the mailboxes and functionality, including OAB generation, to E2K10 and making sure that public folders were set to replicate between my E2K3 and E2K10 servers,
and making sure that everything was running okay, I powered down the E2K3 server.  My thought was to leave it off for a while to see if anything was broken before uninstalling it.  Nope, everything worked just fine and ran that way for a couple of
    months.
Then I updated E2K10 to SP3, with the E2K3 server still turned off.  From that date, people started complaining that updates to the GAL weren't showing up in Outlook 2010 (cached mode), but going to the Outlook "Advanced Search" would show
the updates.  Okay, that's simple - the GAL is current and accurate, but the OAB isn't.  I should make it clear that Outlook was throwing no sync errors related to the OAB and the OAB worked just fine prior to the SP3 update.
Looking at the E2K10 server, I saw the lovely event 9335 referring to /o=EXORG/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Default Offline Address List, and event 9331 referring to "\Default Offline Address List".  Based on that, it would seem that the OAB was
trying to write SPECIFICALLY to the PF on the old E2K3 server - I do have PF and web distribution turned on, because I have some older Office clients.  I powered up the old E2K3 server and let everything sit over the weekend and came in today the OAB
is just fine and up to date.
If that assertion sounds correct, a) why was this not a problem on SP1 but suddenly became one on SP3? b) if the OAB couldn't get regenerated, why wasn't Outlook throwing sync errors?  c) is there a way to tell the OAB to write to the E2K10 server PF
    instead of the E2K3 PF?
    Thanks.

Well I'm not entirely certain I understand the suggestions in your initial post.  As I understand it, update-publicfolder starts synchronization between replicas, and that wouldn't be relevant because the E2K3 server was turned off, so there wouldn't
be anything to replicate.  As far as update-offlineaddressbook goes, I did essentially the same thing, but from EMC.  It doesn't throw any errors in the console, and the only thing in the event log are the two events - 9331 and 9335.  An old
copy of the OAB was still available, however, because Outlook would not give any error when trying to get a new one.
I'm not exactly sure for what database I should be checking the msExchHomePublicMDB value.  At this moment, I actually have two Exchange 2010 servers up and running; all three mailbox databases on server1 have msExchHomePublicMDB pointed at the server1's
public folder store.  server1 is the E2K10 server with the OAB generator on it.  server2 has two mailbox databases on it and no public folders.  The msExchHomePublicMDB for these two databases IS pointed back at the public folder database on
the old E2K3 server, but keep in mind that this server has neither an OAB generator on it, nor a public folder replica.
Should the msExchHomePublicMDB attributes on server2 be pointed at the public folder database on server1?  If so, is that an ADSIedit change, or is there a "proper" way to do this?  Will fixing this issue "automatically" fix the PublicFolderDatabase
attribute of the Default Offline Address List, or do I still need to manually fix that in ADSIedit as well?

  • Few questions regarding the "Update CMS" button

    Hello,
Few questions regarding the "Update CMS" button:
    1. When I create new product at the SLD I see it at the add SC table even if I don't click the "Update CMS" button first. If so, when will I use this option?
    2. When I do click the "Update CMS" button it takes it between 30-40 minutes to finish the update. During this time frame the whole development portal (it is sitting on the same WAS as the NWDI) becomes extremely slow. Is this normal response time or do I have a certain performance problem with my server?
    Thank you in advance,
    Roy

  • AT100-105 - any news regarding the update to Android 4.0.

    Hi!
I have an AT100-105 (3G) European model and wondered if there are any news regarding the update to Android 4.0. Heard somewhere there was a problem with the modem compatibility.
    Is it still the case?
    Thanks

Thanks for the info. I noticed those threads. Only posted this one because the others only mention the AT100-100 which only has Wifi ( I have a friend that already got the update on this model) and mine is the AT100-105 which has Wifi and 3G capability.
Due to the differences in the models, I thought it also merited a different thread.

  • AutoDiscover not working after Exchange 2010 SP2 - SP3 update.

    Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry if this is a really simple thing, but i've played around for hours and exhausted google.
I run a 2010 exchange server for everyone at the office, and today I updated from 2010 SP2 to SP3.
The problem I have is auto discover no longer accepts anyones username or password. If you set the account up on the client machine by manually entering the details everything works great.
All the DNS records are correct and have been working for 2+ years. I have recreated the Autodiscovery virtual directory in EMC.
If i manually browse to mydomain/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml, when asked for a username and password it says it incorrect. I can then log in to OWA with the same credentials and it works.
    Thanks,
    Garrett

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, the above issue is caused by the loopback check being enabled. Please follow the steps below to disable loopback on the CAS servers:
    1. Run regedit, in Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    2. Right-click Lsa, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    3. Type DisableLoopbackCheck, and then press ENTER.
    4. Right-click DisableLoopbackCheck, and then click Modify.
    5. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
    6. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer.

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 2 (KB2866475) personal archive issue

I’m wondering if anyone else has run across this issue:  We use the Exchange personal online archives, and after installing the rollup, anyone with full access to someone else’s mailbox had all the personal archive names changed to the
same name.  As an example, if I had full access to Joe’s mailbox, then the name of Joe’s personal archive, as shown on my Outlook 2010, would display “Archive – Paul@company” rather than “Personal Archive – Joe”. Uninstalling the rollup put
everything back to normal.  So, has anyone else seen this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Have you checked it via OWA? Is it the same with Outlook 2010?
If the issue doesn’t occur when you use OWA, I recommend you recreate Outlook profile to check the result.
If OWA also has the issue, please make sure whether all users are impacted by the issue.
Here is a related thread below for your reference, but I cannot find related description for the issue that the Update Rollup 2 for Exchange Server 2010 SP3 resolves.

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 Update Rollups

    Hi All,
I have a question about installing Update Rollups for Exchange 2010 SP3. After some organizational changes I have to take care of windows updates and our WSUS server. During the last check I found out that there are:
Update Rollup 5,6,7 listed in WSUS for our Exchange which is (CAS, HUB, MB). I've checked also some information about installing Update Rollup but it's not very clear for me. i saw also a problems after installing Update Rollup 6 and also some info from
    blogs.technet.com
The release contains fixes for customer reported issues and previously released security bulletins. Update Rollup 7 is
not considered a security release as it contains no new previously unreleased security bulletins. Customers running
any Service Pack 3 Update Rollup for Exchange Server 2010 can move to Update Rollup 7 directly.
So, what is the best way to do it?
    - Decline old Update Rollups, Install all other security and critical updates from WSUS, reboot the server, install Update Rollup 7, reboot the server?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi kondio
    Thank you for your question.
Service packs and update rollups are part of the servicing strategy for Exchange 2010. They provide an effective and easy-to-use method to distribute Exchange 2010 fixes and modifications. We recommend that you install the latest service pack and update
rollup to keep the product up-to-date.
I suggest you update manually instead of WSUS.
You  can refer to the following link to read about RU:

    Hi Doug,
Yes, you need to install the Exchange 2010 Service Pack 3 at first. And then install the Update Rollup 8.

  • Exchnage sp1 to sp3 Update Best Practices?

Can someone outline Patching Best Practices?
I need to upgrade Exchnage 2010 sp1 to sp3 for my potential customer?-There are Few questions in my mind
-How do i proceed with Multi site Deployment , can i patch all CAS, MBx and Edge servers for site A and then move to site 2?
-What are things that must be taken care of while performing whole process? -I've theoretical overview of how to proceed with the Upgrade, Just wanted to make sure if
there is anything else that needs to be taken care of before performing this to production environments?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
In addition to Will Martin's suggestion, I would like to verify if there is a DAG in your environment. If yes, please follow the steps below to upgrade it.
    1. Run the StartDagServerMaintenance.ps1 script to put the DAG member into maintenance mode and prepare it for the update rollup installation.
    2. Install the update rollup.
    3. Run the StopDagServerMaintenance.ps1 script to take the DAG member out of maintenance mode and put it back into production.
    4. Optionally rebalance the DAG by using the RedistributeActiveDatabases.ps1 script.
Hope this can be helpful to you.
