Hello Forum Members,
I have a Multi Valued Parameter as text field.
Input field Sale_Month is of the type Nvarchar in the Database and has 2014.01,2014.02,2014.05 etc.
I can multi select the values but when I run the report only values from first check box are retrieved though I have data for all.
Please advise me.
Sqlquery9Go to tablix properties, under Filter tab make sure that the Sale_Month filter expression has "IN" operator. Also make sure that the value expression has =Parameter!Sale_Month.Value

Multi-mapping ... multiple records works, one record doesn't
I'm using JDBC to select rows from an external Oracle database, XI receives the message, splits it into multiple messages (one for each record returned) and, using RFC/BAPI, takes each record and writes it to an SAP table on an SAP system. I'm using the RB_SPLIT option in my Interface Determination and in my Interface Mapping I'm using Source occurrences = 1, Target occurrences = 0..unbounded.
This works GREAT ... as long as there is more than one record returned from the select statement in the JDBC setup. If the select statement only returns one record, nothing gets transferred. If it's any amount of records more than 1, it works perfectly.
Why won't it process one record? What can I do to get it to process one record, without messing up the great job it does for more than one record?
Thanks!Hi Michael -
I have a similar setup (at least on the sender side) and whether I have multiple records returned or just one, I'm getting my expected result. FYI, I'm using a file receiver.
I would first take a closer look at your mapping. Get the one record XML that is sent to the Integration Server and test your message mapping in the IR. Remember to put it in between the tags below:
<ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
<ns0:Message1>
</ns0:Message1>
</ns0:Messages>

How can I compare values in a multiple records block
I have a form with multiples records whit a date in each record. I need test if the date typed in record 2 is greather than the date on record 1, if the date typed in record 3 is greather than the date on record 1 and so on. How cai I do it???is grather than the date on record 1
Pedro,
Venelin's code works perfectly, but if you try to use it in a When-Validate-Item or When-Validate-Record trigger, it won't work since you can't invoke navigation routines (FIRST_RECORD, NEXT_RECORD) from these two triggers (among others).
First, we have to understand that Forms wasn't built to perform multi-row validations. It's a fact.
Second, the way I prefer to do this is: let the user enter the data as he wants.
When he commits, in a POST-FORMS-COMMIT trigger, you can check the values using SELECT statements, because they are already written to the data tables. If you don't like them, just issue a RAISE FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE and the transaction gets rollbacked (and the inserts will be undone).
Hope this helps,

Help needed in PL/SQL for updating the column for multiple records
Hi,
I am new to PL/SQL and need some help. What is the most effiecient way to update some field in a table as I may need to update thousands of records. I have a coulmn groupid can have multiple records tied to it. All the records attached to some groupid have a priority field also.
How can I update the prorityfield value for all the groupids in a profiecient way. Here is a sample data
GroupId Priority
1 1
1 2
1 3
1 4
1 5
2 1
2 2
2 3
3 1Here I have three groups 1, 2, 3. Now if any group contains only one record the priority remains same e.g. groupid=3 on top. If any group contains more than one record e.g. groupid=1 & 2 I want to re-arrange the priority fields e.g. If I want to update groupid=1 now if I change the priority of 2 to 5 (make it the last) I want to rearrange the remaing records priority i.e. if 2 becomes 5 as I have 5 rows for groupid=1 then 5 becomes 4, 4 becomes 3, 3 becomes 2 and 1 remains the same.
Same wya if I want to make the priority 1 to 3 for groupid=2 then need 2 to become 1 and 3 to become 2 etc....
Any help is appreciated.
ThanksHi,
You don't need PL/SQL to do this (though you can put the following in PL/SQL if you want to):
UPDATE table_x
SET priority = CASE
WHEN groupid = 1
AND priority = 2
THEN 5
WHEN groupod = 1
AND priority BETWEEN 3 AND 5
THEN priority - 1
WHEN groupid = 2
THEN
CASE
WHEN prioity = 1
THEN 3
ELSE priority - 1
END
END
WHERE groupId IN (1, 2)
AND ( priority BETWEEN 2 AND 5
OR groupid = 2
);There are lots of different techniques that can reduce your coidng: for example, the nested CASE statement used for groupid=2 above.
You could do several smaller UPDATEs (for example, one just for groupid=1). Execution will be slower, but coding and testing will be faster.
You could make the "magic numbers" 2 (for groupid=1) and 1 (for groupid=2) variables, even outside of PL/SQL.
If you need more help, post the information that Satyaki requested. -
Display multiple records with CSS
PHP MySQL
I have a MySQL table with several columns and multiple
records... it is easy
to display these records in a <table> using the repeat
record server
behavior applied to the <tr> that displays the records.
I would like to do this with CSS and eleminate
<table>'s
My question is can this be done displaying the records in a
<div> using the
repeat record server behavior?
Or is this just one of those things that a <table> is
required?
JeffDisplaying rows of data is actually the reason tables were
originally
invented. :)
You need a table with the number of columns for your data and
two rows. The
first row is for the column headers. The second row is for
the PHP
placeholder that will be replaced with data. Apply the repeat
region to
this second row either for all rows or the number of rows you
desire to
display on one page .. in which case you would also use
recordset paging.

Im not sure whats the delimiter in ur flat file between the 2 columns. I have use a comma change it accordingly.
This is the output I get:

Introduction
In SQL Server Reporting Services, we can define a mapping between the fields that are returned in the query to specific delivery options and to report parameters in a data-driven subscription.
For a report with a parameter (such as YEAR) that allow multiple values, when creating a data-driven subscription, how can we pass a record like below to show correct data (data for year 2012, 2013 and 2014).
EmailAddress Parameter
Comment
[email protected] 2012,2013,2014 NULL
In this article, I will demonstrate how to configure a Data Driven Subscription which get multi-value parameters from one column of a database table
Workaround
Generally, if we pass the “Parameter” column to report directly in the step 5 when creating data-driven subscription.
The value “2012,2013,2014” will be regarded as a single value, Reporting Services will use “2012,2013,2014” to filter data. However, there are no any records that YEAR filed equal to “2012,2013,2014”, and we will get an error when the subscription executed
on the log. (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles)
Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InvalidReportParameterException: Default value or value provided for the report parameter 'Name' is not a valid value.
This means that there is no such a value on parameter’s available value list, this is an invalid parameter value. If we change the parameter records like below.
EmailAddress Parameter Comment
[email protected] 2012 NULL
[email protected] 2013 NULL
[email protected] 2014 NULL
In this case, Reporting Services will generate 3 reports for one data-driven subscription. Each report for only one year which cannot fit the requirement obviously.
Currently, there is no a solution to solve this issue. The workaround for it is that create two report, one is used for view report for end users, another one is used for create data-driven subscription.
On the report that used create data-driven subscription, uncheck “Allow multiple values” option for the parameter, do not specify and available values and default values for this parameter. Then change the Filter
From
Expression:[ParameterName]
Operator :In
Value :[@ParameterName]
To
Expression:[ParameterName]
Operator :In
Value :Split(Parameters!ParameterName.Value,",")
In this case, we can specify a value like "2012,2013,2014" from database to the data-driven subscription.
Applies to
Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Microsoft SQL Server 2008
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
Microsoft SQL Server 2012

Rest of the blocks don't seems to have any relation.
So you can check this code to see how internal table lt_str is built whose first 3 fields have data contained in Auftrag, and next 3 fields have Position data. The structure is flat, assuming that every Position record is related to preceding Auftrag.

Reporting counts on multi-value lookup columns
Hi,
I have a list containing 2 columns - student, and subjects. Subjects is a multi-value lookup column. Students may study multiple subjects. What I'm trying to achieve is a simple pie chart (I don't care if it's done using SharePoint Web Part, Excel or
SSRS) that displays a breakdown of how many students are studying each subject.
So if I have 2 list entries:
Person 1, Science, Maths
Person 2 , Maths
Person 3 , Science
The report/chart would report 2 Science and 3 Maths. What I'm struggling with is that because the data is stored in an un-normalized fashion ('#;') separated it's not possible to do straight charts without coding (C# or VBS). I
would have assumed that this issue would be widely spread but I've had no luck looking through forums. Does anyone have any experience/;ideas on how to handle this??
Thanks.
MDBHi
From your description, my understanding is that you want to get counted values of a Multi-Value lookup column.
You can get counted values of a Multi-Value lookup column
in DVWP using XSLT.
Refer to the following post:

For some business requirements, users want to extract values from a multi-value enabled lookup column
and add items to another list based on each separate value. In contrast, others want to find duplicate values in the list and merge associated values to a multi-value enabled column and then
add items to another list based on the merged value. All of these can be achieved using SharePoint Designer 2013 Workflow.

Things to note
Steps to create Workflow
How to
extract values from a multi-value enabled lookup column and
add items to another list based on each separate value using SharePoint Designer 2013.
For example, they have three lists as below. They want to
extract values from the Destinations column
in Lookup2 and add items to Lookup3 based on each country and set Title to current item: ID.
Lookup1:
Title (Single line of text)
Lookup2:
Title (Single line of text), Destinations (Lookup; Get information from: Lookup1 in Title column).\
Lookup3:
Title (Single line of text), Country (Single line of text).
Important action
1. Loop Shape: SharePoint Designer 2013 support two types of loops: loop n times and loop with condition.
Loops must also conform to the following rules:
Loops must be within a stage, and stages cannot be within a loop.
Steps may be within a loop.
Loops may have only one entry and one exit point.
2. Utility Actions: It contains many actions, such as ‘Extract Substring from Index of String’ and ‘Find substring in String’.
Three scenarios
We need to loop through the string returned from the look up column and look for commas. There are three
scenarios:
1. No comma but string is non-empty so there is only one country.
2. At least one comma so there is at least two or more countries to loop.
3. In the loop we have consumed all the commas so we have found the last country.
Things to note
There are two things to note:
1. "Find string in string (output to Variable:index)" will return -1 if doesn't find
the searched for string.
2. In the opening statement "Set Variable: Countries to Current Item:Destinations" set the return
field as "Lookup Values, Comma Delimited".
Steps to create Workflow
Create a custom list named Lookup1.
Create a custom list named Lookup2, add column: Destinations (Lookup; Get information from: Lookup1 in Title column).
Create a custom list named Lookup3, add column: Country (Single line of text).
Create a workflow associated to Lookup2.
Add conditions and actions:
Start the workflow automatically when an item is created.
Add item to Lookup2, then workflow will be started automatically and create multiple items to lookup3.
See the below in workflow History List:
How to merge values to a multi-value enabled column and add item to another list based on the
merged value using SharePoint Designer 2013
For example, they have three lists as below. They want to find duplicate values in the Title column in
Lookup3 and merge country column to a multi-value enabled column and then add item to lookup2 and set the Title to Current Item: Title.
Lookup1:
Title (Single line of text)
Lookup3:
Title (Single line of text), Country (Single line of text).
Lookup2:
Title (Single line of text), Test (Single line of text).
Important actions
"Call HTTP Web Service"
action: In SharePoint 2013 workflows, we can call a web service using a new action introduced in SharePoint 2013 named Call HTTP Web Service. This action
is flexible and allows you to make simple calls to a web service easily, or, if needed, you can create more complex calls using HTTP verbs as well as allowing you to add HTTP headers.
“Build Dictionary"
action:
The Dictionary variable type is a new variable type in the SharePoint 2013 Workflow.
The following are the three actions specifically designed for the Dictionary variable type: Build Dictionary, Count Items in a Dictionary and Get an Item from a Dictionary.
The "Call HTTP Web Service" workflow action would be useless without the new "Dictionary" workflow action.
Things to note
The
HTTP URI is set to https://sitename/_api/web/lists/GetByTitle('listname')/items?$orderby=Id%20desc and the HTTP method is set to “GET”. Then the list will be sort by Id in descending order.
Use Get
d/results(0)/Id form
Variable: ResponseContent (Output to
Variable: maxid) to get the Max ID.
Use Set
Variable: minid to Current List:ID to get the Min ID.
Use Copy from
Variable: destianation , starting at
1 (Output to
Variable: destianation) to remove the space.
Steps to create Workflow
Create a custom list named Lookup1.
Create a custom list named Lookup2, add column: Test (Single line of text).
Create a custom list named Lookup3, add column: Country (Single line of text).
Create a workflow associated to Lookup3.
Add a new "Build Dictionary" action
to define the http request header:
Add a Call HTTP Web Serviceaction, click on
this and paste your http request.
To associate the
RequestHeader variable, select the Call action property,
set the
RequestHeaders property to
RequestHeader:
In the Call action, click on
response and associate the response to a new
variable: ResponseContent (of type Dictionary).
After the Call action add Get item from Dictionary action to get the Max ID.
Add Set Workflow Variable action to get the Min ID.
Add Loop Shape (Loop with Condition) to get all the duplicate titles and integrate them to a string.
Create item in Lookup2.
The final Stage should look like this:
Start the workflow automatically when an item is created.
Add item to Lookup3, then workflow will be started automatically and create item to lookup2.
See the below in workflow History List:

cancel). I only found this out when recreating your workflow on a similar, but much more complex list set.
To resolve this issue, I used another utility action (Extract Substring from Index of List) to clear out the whitespace. I configured it as "Copy from
Variable: Countries, starting at
1 (Output to Variable: Countries), which takes care of this issue in those few cases.
Otherwise, WOW! AWESOME JOB! Thanks! :) -
MDM Import Manager - remove multiple values from a multi valued fiedl
Hi,
We have this multi-valued field and we would like to clean the values from it.
How can we do this using MDM Import Manager?
Example:
Article A
Field XPTO has values Z, T and P.
We want this field XPTO with no values. How can we do a mass actualization to clean the field for some articles?

Hi Maria,
There can be multiple ways to achieve this -
1.After doing field mapping for XPTO you can set conversion filter for each of the values.
2.Value map with NULL.
3.Trigger a Workflow on import/record add,run assignment and make that field NULL.
4.Run mass update for conditional assignment based on that value of XPTO.
There can be more ways, whichever suits you best you can go ahead with that.
Hope it helped

Split Message value in Multi-Mapping
Hello everybody,
I got the following problem with 1:n Mapping
My Source Structure is
<root>
.<element_list> // 1:1
..<element> // 1:unbounded
...<value>
...</value>
..</element>
.</element_list>
</root>
Sample for source structure:
<root>
.<element_list>
..<element>
...<value><b>WILLIAM</b>
...</value>
..</element>
..<element>
...<value><b>RICHARD</b>
...</value>
.</element_list>
</root>
I want to split by multi-mapping!
The target structure looks similar as source target structure (just <element_list> is missing)!
So my structure looks in target:
<Messages>
.<Messages1>
..<element>
...<value>
...</value>
..</element>
.<Messages2>
..<element>
...<value>
...</value>
..</element>
For splitting the <value> tag is responsible:
Every RICHARD should be mapped to <Messages1>
Every WILLIAM should be mapped to <Messages2>
--> so I use the if-function (I dont want to use the SORT function!)
But this seems not to work.
Any suggestions?

Sorting and Grouping by multi-value Choice columns - any options?
I found out the hard way that SharePoint doesn't support sorting or grouping lists by Choice columns that are set to "Allow Multiple Values." I'm stunned by this missing capability, and my project has come to a complete halt without it. It's like Microsoft only implemented hafl the feature -- you can put data in, but then you can't do anything with it. You can't even use the column in a formula in another column, so you can't parse it.
I'm not posting just to gripe though. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives? What do you do when you need to let people make multiple selections, and then you want to sort or group by those values? Are there any add-on products that allow this? At this point my only option seems to be to not allow multiple choices, but that's taking away a rather significant feature.
Thanks for any ideas,
SteveHi Paul,
Thank you for the reply and the additional questions. For my situation I want to use the multi-value choice to indicate a "belongs to" relationship, as in "this item belongs to projectA, projectB, and project C. Because there are more than 10 projects, I didn't want to create a separate Yes/No checkbox for each one.
For viewing the information, I'm looking primarily for a "group by" function. So if an item belongs to projectA, projectB, and projectC, it would appear three times, once under the grouping for each project. What I don't want is for a row that only belongs to projectA to be grouped separately from a row that belongs to both projectA and projectB. I want to see all the rows that belong to projectA grouped together, regardless of whether they also belong to other projects.
I'll look into using a grid control, but if you have any other suggestions I'll certainly listen.
Steve
