Setting bpel variable using external java code

Hi all
I would like to ask if there is a way to set bpel process variable during process execution from external java code using java api without using java embedding code?!!
Thnx in advance

Hi, I wanna to know if it is possible at all to edit/update value of variables in a process instance via external java code?
In fact I don't believe that we can set a variable remotely using java APIs.Am I right?
For example,is it possible to change the value of a field in the user task form(that is sent to a user to fill and complete the task)?

  • Can we set a variable used inside the template from the java code.

    Hi everybody,
    I am uploading template,sub template and data xml fle to generate the preview using XDO API's. My main template is calling a sub template so it needs to import the sub template in the main template.since i am uploading my files on a particular server,my subtemplates has been put on different path as specified in the main template.
    so i need to change the subtemplate path dynamically at run time.
    is there any way i can pass this information to my main template at run time.
    one solution could be,my rtf template has a variable 'i' inside it,which is setting the file path to include my subtemplate like this :
    <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, i ,"import:file:///c:/Temp/htmlmarkup.xsl")?>
    <?xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX, i )?>
    now is there any way i can set this variable at run time from my external java code.?
    Thanks,
    Anuradha

    Thanks for the response.
    but i still am looking for the solution.
    if both my template and subtemplate are in the same directory then atleast
    <?import:file:../htmlmarkup.xsl?> should work.
    but its not working...i m getting following error:
    FOProcessor setData: C:\subtemplates\projects.xml

  • Class Not found Exception for invoking BPEL process through the Java code

    Hi.
    The JDeveloper IDE raise the Exception From the invoking the BPEL process through the java code .Class Not Found Exception (Locator,ID.......).What is process of importing these classes from API.

    In your code (.bpel file) import the library using the bpelx:exec tag. For example the adding the following entry in your .bpel file imports the com.oracle.bpel.client.util library.
    <bpelx:exec import="com.oracle.bpel.client.util.*"/>

  • Use of Java Code within the generated XML Forms Stylesheets

    Hello,
    is the use of Java-Code possible with the XSL-Files generated by XML-Forms, as possible in standard XSLs? I know that this would mean a modification.
    kind regards,
    Marco

    Hi Marco,
    I "executed" some java code within XSLs file. I have quoted the word executed because I didn't really run java code, but I used a simply trick that I describe you below.
    Into your XSLs put an iframe which is hided (it has an height of 0 pixel). As src of the iframe put the address of a portal component which execute your code (in my case calculate some PCD URL of some pages into a defined role). As result of component execution, I use the response.write method in order to execute some jscript code, which is able to interact with the HTML generated by XSLs files, for example in my case response.write put the PCD URL into a drop down list placed into the "edit" form.
    This works fine. I don't know if is suitable also for your case, anyway could be a hint, but pay attention to Roland's recommendations.
    Ciao

    Hi,
    Please ensure that you include the SOAP Header "SOAPAction" in your request. Most importantly, the value for that should be enclosed within double quotes.
    For eg;
    req.setRequestHeader("SOAPAction", '"process"');

  • How to use external Java API in Java Embedd inside BPEL

    How to use external classes inside the BPEL in Java Embed Activity ? Any sample code availble ? Like i want to use log4j API inside BPEL.

    No you dont have to change your startManagedServer.cmd/.sh everytime you need to have a Java Embedding activity. You only need it in case of using Log4J. As log4j requires a configuration xml viz log4j.debug.xml and log4j.dtd you need to let the soa managed server know about it. The best way to load this configuration files is using the JAVA_OPTIONS command during server startup.
    Hope the explanation helps.

  • How to display a BPEL variable using Java Embedding

    Hi, hope someone can help, I'm sure this is something very simple but for the life of me can't seem to find it through the tutorials including the Dev guide.
    Question
    =======
    How can I display user defined and BPEL variables in the process activity "Java Embedding" ?
    ex: System.out.println(bpws:getVariableData("myDatabaseParameterVariable")
    This example doesn't work but this is basically what I am trying to achieve.
    I would appreciate any help with this.
    Rookie

    Actually that's all the code I have.... System.out.println(myDatabaseArg);
    myDatabaseArg is a simple parameter defined in the database adapter configuration wizard which is used as a criteria to retrieve data.
    Just before I invoke the Read I use the Java Embedding to display the content of the parameter.

    Path and ClassPath:
    PATH
    In Windows 9x you would set it up in the autoexec.bat file
    ie.
    SET PATH=%PATH%;c:\jdk1.4.2\bin\;
    where c:\jdk1.4.2\ is the path where you installed Java.
    In Windows 2000 and XP
    Right click on My Computer->Properties->Advanced Tab->Environment Variables... Button.
    If you see a PATH in System Variables, click that and edit it. If you don't, you will need to create a new System variable.
    It should look something like this:
    %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;c:\jdk1.4.2\bin\;

  • How to set #HOST# variable used in Chart template using Multiple Domains?

    I have a extended question to How can I set #HOST# variable referenced in the Chart template?
    In addition to the Proxy layer, we are looking to use multiple sub-domain names into the same Oracle APEX instance (through the one DAD) each mapped to a different application id. Therefore I don't think the solution in the link will work for me - as this embeds a single domain name in the DADS.CONF.
    Two questions:
    - Is it possible to set the "HTTP_HOST" in "dads.conf" using an existing HTTP Header value? - my proxy can pass on the original domain as "HTTP_X_FORWARDED_HOST". So if it was possible to use (say: using whatever form/syntax of parameterisation is available) ?
    >
    PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_HOST=%{HTTP_X_FORWARDED_HOST}
    >
    If it can then that would work for me. It would be great if modl_plsql handled this out of the box as I understand the "X-FORWARDED" approach is pretty standard in the proxy world including passing on original IP addresses. Hitting an phpinfo() site shows headers
    >
    HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR     192.168.2.100
    HTTP_X_FORWARDED_HOST     dev.mycompany.com:443
    HTTP_X_FORWARDED_SERVER     mycompany.com
    >
    - Alternatively is it possible in APEX environment to set the #HOST# from the HTTP Header "HTTP_X_FORWARDED_HOST" if it exists for all requests?
    Thanks

    Hi Donna,
    changing the CGI environment variables HTTP_HOST, REQUEST_PROTOCOL and SERVER_PORT is the correct way how to resolve this, because it appears that your hiding the web server where you have installed mod_plsql or EPG by a different outside facing web server (also called reverse proxy). That's why APEX gets the host name, protocol and port of the internal web server, but should actually get the values of your reverse proxy web server. Can can fix that by changing the following CGI environment variables.
    HTTP_HOST should just contain the domain name (no protocol or port). For example: www.oracle.com
    REQUEST_PROTOCOL should contain http or https
    SERVER_PORT should be the port for https
    I don't want to add a new cgi variable called HOST because HOST sounds so generic and it might interfere with something else running in our environment. Or, I don't want to change the plsql cgi environment variable (such as HTTP_HOST) because many developers may use owa_util.get_cgi_env('HTTP_HOST') to get the current server. If the SERVER_PORT is part of the #HOST# then what could I change it to if it needs to be null. If you leave it blank, then the default SERVER_PORT comes from the CGI variables.The value of HTTP_HOST is wrong anyway and points to your internal web server, but I assume your developers actually want to get the host name of your external web server if they use it to generate absolute URLs. That's why I wouldn't bother and set it to the correct host name.
