Regarding weblogic.nodemanager.sslHostNameVerificationEnabled flag
Hi,
I am getting the SSLKeyException, while calling the external application webservice over SSL as given below
javax.net.ssl.SSLKeyException: [Security:090504]Certificate chain received from sureshba-pc - 127.0.0.1 failed hostname verification check. Certificate contained sureshba-pc but check expected sureshba-pc
I am using Oracle Weblogic 11g version 10.3.2 and its demo certificate.
Here is security log on server startup:-

Issue got resolved by set a flag -Dweblogic.nodemanager.sslHostNameVerificationEnabled=false on startManagedweblogic.sh.
Please let us know , if this is the right way to do ( by disabling the flag -Dweblogic.nodemanager.sslHostNameVerificationEnabled ), what does that flag signify ? Do people disable that flag in production system ?
Thanks,
Suresh
Host name verification is a process wheren the CN of the Certificate is checked whther it matches the hostname from where the request originates.
By applying this flag we are basically bypassing that check.
In Production system, demo certificates are not used. And the CN is the same as hostname for certificates used in prod env, hence the use of the flag does not arise.

Faisal

How to configure Oracle WebLogic NodeManager as a MS service
Hi Experts,
I installed OBIEE 11.1.1.5, and i want to configure OBIEE start/stop as windows services.
for that and after a successful configuration, Oracle configure by default two windows services: Weblogic Node Manager and FMW 11g Process Manager (OPMN).
The problem is that Weblogic Node Manager is missing as a widows service.
How can i do to create and configure it manually, please.
Thank in advance.
Best regards,
Hassan C

I am sure about the right username and password. This is serious, because most of our production scripts need the nodemanager connection.
So every help is appreciated.
Thanks and kind regards,
tomschI got the same problem...but seems it has the different stackDump output from the previous thread. I did the same recommended resolution but still getting the same error. Am running WLS 9.2 in a Solaris 8 box.
Appreciate any advise.Here's the debug output of my wlst.sh:

If started, how can i access the node manager, from which location.
I see a another nodemanager.sh in WL_HOME/server/bin. Is this script i need to execute the node manager. Please let me know.
Any response is very helpful to me.Log into the weblogic console for one of the domains controlled by that nodemanager. I know there's a page that checks nodemanager connectivity. It's either in the "Server" or "Machine" area, I don't remember.

Regarding Weblogic Portal certifications.
Hi,
I'm a beginner in Weblogic Portals.
Is there any certification with certification id "0B0-110" with respect to Weblogic Portals ? If yes, is there any prerequisites for that exam? We dont find any relevant information in this regard.
We also found other exam ids for Weblogic Portals which requires some prerequisites.
Please let me know if you have more details on Weblogic Portal certifications.
Thanks in advance,
JeyageethaHello Jeyageetha,
This is the kind of information that can change at any time so check with Oracle University for the latest, but here is the story as of today:
The short answer is that the WebLogic Portal developer certification is now known as: "1Z0-110 Oracle WebLogic Portal 10g Developer" and that it does not have any required prerequisites but does have recommended prerequisites:
BEA WebLogic Portal 9/10: Develop Enterprise Portals: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/show_desc.redirect?dc=D70838GC10
OR
BEA WebLogic Portal 9/10: Develop Enterprise Portals – LWC: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/show_desc.redirect?dc=D54865GC10
OR
Oracle WebLogic Portal 10g R3: Develop Enterprise Portals: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/show_desc.redirect?dc=D56369GC10
If you look on the Oracle University website I think you'll find what you need:
OTN (Oracle Technology Network):
http://www.oracle.com/technology/index.html
"Certification" link goes to "Oracle University":
http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=3
"Product Courses --> BEA" link:
http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=84&group_id=1410
"BEA WebLogic Portal link:
http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getlppage?page_id=212&path=WLPL
There is one learning path for administrators and one for developers. The dark gray shaded courses are marked as required.
To learn about the certification to which these courses apply, you can start at the "Certification" link at Oracle University:
http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=39
If you look around there you will probably want to end up here:
"Oracle WebLogic Portal 10g Developer Certified Expert"
http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=282
Also here:
"Important Changes to BEA Certifications"
http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=285
I don't see a certification for administrators. You should probably ask Oracle University if that is what you want. You may want to ask them why they mark some courses as "required" in the course description but then only list "recommended" courses in the certification description. There are inconsistencies on the Oracle University website about what is a required prerequisite versus a recommended prerequisite and it is probably a mistake. -
Regarding updating unicode check flag to all z* programs at once
Hi all,
We are upgrading from 4.7 to ecc 6.0 ,
we have created one pilot server where we have installed ecc 6.0 and all prduction data is copied on it .
OUR basis team has done that process and it is done with unicode check active ,
But all Z programs such as few customs programs are still non-unicode as they are old programs so want
to update unicode check flag which is pressent in attributes of program .
MANUALly you can do for each program and activate that i know ,but how to do it all at once .
Because when we Excecute UCCheck we get all programs which are nonunicode , in which it shows that programs The system found no Unicode syntax errors . whichneeds to be just do unicode check flag active and activate the program .
How that can be done at once all .
Regards
Deepak.Hi ,
My problem is solved ....
i found that after executing UCCHECK transaction code ,in display you will find one button on rigth side
"set unicode attribute" . after selecting no of programs at once we can press that butoon .
The Unicode flag is set for the selected programs. The programs are
written into interactively selectable transport requests and generated.
You must later release the transport requests.
I hope this will be helpfull to all.
Regards
Deepak. -
Where does the weblogic.nodemanager.NodeManager reside?
This class is not in weblogic.jar. Any idea?
Thanks,
Tao
I assume you are talking about nodemanager in 6.1. Please post 6.1

Hi,
I have a problem with weblogic 8.1 server.
when i am trying to insert the fileds in a form and when i give the "clearing date" value as a blank it is displaying the value as '1/1/1900' in jsp.
whereas in Websphere it is not showing.
Ideally it should not show.
Please help me to resolve this issue if there are any settings to be made.

Regarding Weblogic Server 5.1 and Jview.
I have an applikation running on a Weblogic server 5.1 and have to access COM Components -
I used MS J++ to wrap the COM components and started the server with jview. That work just fine
as long as I dont include the rt.jar from the jdk1.3 library in the classpath. Why is that? I know
Weblogic Server is not sertified for using jdk1.3 on windows 2000, but is that the reason?
The error according according to Microsoft documentation is that there are dll's missing in the
system path,but it works just fine without rt.jar ...
If someone has encountered the same problem please respond ...
The error I get is :
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.

[att1.html]I think my Q is not clear. I shall explain how the application works. I am having application based on Swings and that is a website building program. User has options like ading an image into their site with an element called 'Image' available as part of the system. Then user can either select an image from the picture gallery provided or can upload his own image.
Now, if the user is uploading a picture that has space in name ( we use a servlet program to upload the image into user directory), it will get uploaded. But when the swing program tries to paint the image in the Image element ( It is essentially a JLabel ), the program is sending a request to the WL server. Since the URL contains space in name, server returns error. Even if do URL Encoding, it will add %20 in the URL and still WL will report error saying that file not found. It seems that WL is unable to process requests that has space in the URL.
If any one has any solution to this, please help..

Strange observations regarding Weblogic's jdbc pool
Hi,
We have strange problem in wls5.1 sp 8. We have configurate WLS
with 30 threads (weblogic.system.executeThreadCount) and a connection pool with
initial number of connections of 70 and maximum of 100 (the RDBMS is Oracle).
We see (with Weblogic console) the pool's utilisation is not very heavy (a maximum
of 10 simultaneous connections).
But WLS create 6 connections until the execution (we see with WLS console all
connections are closed).
How is it possible to have 76 connections in pool, with 30 threads configuration
Anybody has an idea ?
Thanks a lot
EmmanuelHi. One cause of this is if the code you have that obtains
pool connections is either not threadsafe, so one thread may
overwrite a connection reference that was also written to by
another thread. Another problem is if the code can ever exit
withourt closing the connection. This would 'leak' the connections
from the pool, which would never be able to know you were done
with them, and would make some more. Let me see your code.

Need help regarding Weblogic Server Hang up
We are facing a problem at the client’s place on the production environment.
The weblogic server is hanging up once every week. The application is running fine till then, but once the server is hung we need to restart the weblogic again.
Also after observing the behavior of the memory usage of the application in the weblogic admin console we came to know that the memory usage is gradually increasing day by day. We are not sure why this is happening.
We tested the application to check for any memory leaks using JProbe. We couldn’t find any memory leaks in the application. We even tested it onsite but couldn’t find any memory leaks.
I need some help on this issue as this is happening on the production environment and needs to be resolved as soon as possible.
The configuration we are having on the production environment is:
bea:8.1
JDK:1.41_021. You say its a hang, get multiple threadumps and see whats happening at the time of hang. this will give you a clue into the work thats going on and thats stuck.
2. are you seeing outofmemoryexception? If yes only then you will need to suspect the memory leak. First thing in such situation is try to increase the heap by about 1/3rd more (this is just a guestimate not a recommended practice) , that can potentially buy you time to analyze the problem.
3. you should also check if weblogic objects are leaking , check the jprobe snapshots if you have any to see if you find any weblogic object that are not getting garbage collected and growing continuously. there have been a few memory leak fixes since 8.1 release. if you find something contact support@bea and find out if any existing fix will help. -

Regarding weblogic deployment.
I am using wl 8.1. I am very new to weblogic.
I have added a new application on my managed server. I have started the server. After starting the server when i say "redeploy" its not getting deployed.
Although i am not getting any error, its taking a very long time and in fact the process not ending.
Can any one help me out.
Thanks in advance.After you redeploy the appl from console, the deployement status should be "Available", if it comes to that status after you redeploy then it means that your appl is deployed.

How to create add Oracle Weblogic's NodeManager as a service to xinetd?
I'm trying to add NodeManager to start automatically when system boots
In Oracle® Fusion Middleware Node Manager Administrator's Guide there is this template:
# default: off
# description:nodemanager as a service
service nodemgrsvc
type = UNLISTED
disable = no
socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
wait = yes
user = <username>
port = 5556
flags = NOLIBWRAP
log_on_success += DURATION HOST USERID
server = <path-to-jave>/java
env = CLASSPATH=<cp> LD_LIBRARY_PATH=<ldpath>
server_args = -client -DNodeManagerHome=<NMHome> <java options>
<nodemanager options> weblogic.NodeManager -v
I don't know how to fill:
* cp
* ldpath
* java_options
* nodemanager options
Do you have any xinetd script example to start nodemanager?
Thanks in advance.this script worked for me:
# default: off
