we have implemented ESS & MSS business packages . I need to show the Appraisals and Qualification iview which is displayed under MSS >> Team >> Employee Information >> Personnel development page in MSS >> Team >> Employee Information >> General Information page . Is it possible to use the Appraisals and Qualification applications in General Information page?. Can we overwrite the sap.xss.BaseConfigurationID for these applications?.

Hi,
1) create your custom page/iviews based on MSS Pers Info
2) create your custom FPM app based on current FPM app for MSS Pers Info (copy & paste as a delta link)
3) change your new custom FPM app to include the Appraisal & Qualif
4) include in your new custom page for MSS Pers Info the Appraisal & Qualif iview
a few additional steps can be required, check for your case (current views and perspective)

Start button in FPM configuration
Hi all,
There is a start button in FPM for initial screen.
In my webdynpro component, i have created 2 applications MAINTAIN and APPROVE.
Few days back i was able to hide start button for MAINTAIN application,
but because of the requirement change I had to hide for application APPROVE also.
I tried to hide in the same way as I have done for MAINTAIN application but button is not getting hidden.
Is there anything that I am missing like refresh of something, so that FPM configuration change is reflected

Problem is resolved.
There is a dropdown in FPM config, there I have selected webdynpro built in and then made button container of initial screen invisible.
But did not work for approve application as the FPM config changes are not getting saved.
I had to create a new application.
The changes would get saved if the support pack SAPKA70207(SAP_ABA) and SAPKB70207(SAP_BASIS) is implemented

FPM Configuration ID Determined by User Role
Hey All,
Sorry for the naivete of this question, should be a quick one. I have about 10 hours experience in Webdynpro and FPM. I'm working on just creating a copy of the LO_OIF_MAIN_APP and doing a deep copy of the configuration IDs. Everything works great, easier than when I tried this about five years ago. Now I have a config ID of my own (ZLO_OIF_SDOC_APP_CP) that has my own changes in it. However, when I launch NWBC I get the canned version and not mine. Of course, I'm missing a tie here but I can't seem to find it. What ties this to my user-id? I've deeply searched the likely tie, that being the role of SAP_SR_INT_SALES_REP_5...no luck. My end goal is to create three distinct configurations of the Sales Order Interface for different Sales Order users. One for Returns, one for Credits and one for Orders. How do I tie them to the user-id? What simple component am I missing?

WebDynpro FPM configuration exception
Hi Experts,
I'm facing a scenario, I greatly appreciate if some one can answer. Thank you.
We are implementing NW04s SP9. ESS webDynpro version. backend ECC6.0
We are not using NWDI and we are implementing out of the box, no customization to standard delivered ESS WD apps.
In Dev portal every thing works fine. In QA portal I have transported using packages. but I did deployed ESS BP on QA system.
In QA environment every thing works fine if I assign super admin rights to the employee userID, if I remove the super admin role I' getting an dump error saying FPMCpnfiguration Exception: ReadObject "com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.DataRecord failed"
Can somebody experienced this issue. I have tried all ways from security standpoint like assigning content admin role only with ESS role same error as above, when I assign super admin role with ESS role, it works just fine.
Can some one suggest some options.

You have to create enhancement implementation for your application configuration. Then you have to follow the below procedure for enhanceing the feeder class.
1. Create explicit enhancement for your feeder class by choosing spiral button in the class object toolbar, then it will provide pre,post and override method for your methods.
2. As per your requirement you need to add some action in your table control toolbar, for that you need to implement post exit for the GET_DEFINITION method.
3. Enhance your FPM application for adding the table control button and assign the created action in your feeder class and process the events in the post exit implementation of your PROCESS_EVENT method.

I want to configure sso between java and abap instance for ESS/MSS. I couldnt find any guide for it, could you please help me gurus ?
Other question is, is there any specific role for ESS/MSS users in JAVA instance. I want to create users and assign this role to them.

There should be a / in the ITS path before SAP.
Basically the entry that you have mentioned here should be accessible via browser as well. For eg in your case:
http://<its hist name>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui should be accessible over browser.
I also think you have put in a extra space in "w ebgui". It should be "webgui".
If the connector settings are working, then we can be sure that system connection is fine. You do not need to configure ITS settings.
Also for SSO, refer the SAP note:1083421 and configure the SS0 settings again.
Please run the SSO2 wizard and then make the automatic connection to
the abap server. This will solve any inconsistencies on the server
due to manual interventions.
Most likely reason for the error is that certificates were loaded
manually rather than using SSO wizard.

The SSO enabling parameters should be set on the R/3 server.

I am following the MSS configuration document to set up the reports. One of the step is described as below in the document:
You must also configure certain parameters in the Portal Content Directory (PCD). The parameters relevant for reporting include:
● scenario
Define the scenario that creates a list of available reports. In the standard delivery, the standard scenario is RPT0. The value of the scenario parameter is the MDT scenario. If you want to use the standard scenario, set the parameter scenario=RPT0.
● viewgroup
Parameter viewgroup defines the Object and Data Provider (OADP) view group. The view group contains at least one view ID. View IDs determine the list of Organizational Management objects such as employees and organizational units.
My problem is I can not find the parameter either in individual iView or anywhere in portal, can anyone tell me where I can find the iView parameters listed above and change the value to my own customized scenario?Currently we are bulding a MSS scneario which contains the iView sap.com/mssrpt/Reporting for HCM (MDT) reporting and multiple HCM ERP 6.0 backends where the reports should be executed. We have provided the iView in the application parameter with the new JCO connections parameters (like sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:001 etc.) This part works fine. We have the right MDT scenario on the assigned ERP backend and the org. structure and the people on the assigned ERP backend system. But the selected report will be always executed on the wrong system - means on the system which is behind the system standard system alias SAP_R3_Human Resources. Is there some customizing table where the ALIAS could be stored - for the LPA-Reporting iView via the Launchpad there is the table FPB_LP6_R_MDT_C but this table is obviously not processed with the iView mssrpt/Reporting.

Reuse FPM configuration in another webdynpro component

I would like to define the navigations and buttons in one component configuration . And then use this in another webdynpro component. As the buttons/navigation is applicable to multiple requirements. So I would like to reuse it.
I tried to do this using the developer's guide (7.0 , EhP2). But I am getting a dump
'The current application triggered a termination with a short dump ' .
Not sure if I am doing some thing wrong. Any ideas in this regard would be helpful.

if your actual coding is like as it is above then it will give dump. For example
ls_conf_key-config_id = u201CID configuration of FPM componentu201D.
You need to replace the u201CID configuration of FPM componentu201D with the actual component configuration id. -

In FPM whenver you add a button in the tool bar you will have a event ID associated with it.
In the web dynpro component where you implement IF+FPM_BUILDING_BLOCK interface, int hat component controoler you will have PROCESS_EVENT method.
based on the event ID you can write you code in this method.

i have gone through many forum posts before posting this , so expecting a genuine answer:) which can be rewarded:).
I am using PI 7.1 and trying to taste the services registry flavour of it.
i followed the SAP Note 1267817 - Configure Services Registry proxy , but i am not able to assign the roles
SERVICES_REGISTRY_READ_ONLY or SERVICES_REGISTRY_READ_WRITE in Su01.
i get a message that such a role doesnt exist at all.
Qn1:Do i need installed any software componet like UDDI etc, or do in need to have uddi server
configured for this , if yes how to do that..

After following the note partially i.e w/o giving the user roles. when in rt click sender agreement and say publish

Jerryhi if you have ECC 6.0 it does not mean that you have ESS MSS already configured.
all you have to do is to install ESS MSS to your portal server (EP WAS).
if you are trying to check if some one has already installed it or configured it then you will have to logon to portal and check in PCD -> content provided by SAP
here you will find Employee self service Folder.
if not then you have to deploy the ESS MSS BP.

there are mainly 3 BP which you need to install. Make sure you install SAP PCUI_GP 600 first then ESS & MSS.

We have deployed MSS 1.41 on portal 7.01 system.
BP_ERP5MSS 1.41 SP8 (1000.1.41.8.0.20100916080053)
In Manager self Service Role in portal under Team there is Employee Information service which contain General Information page,which contains below mention webdynpro components i.e,
Salary Development
Employee Search
Company Properties
Photo
General Data
Archived Documents
Related Activities
Personal Data
Absence Days
Message Box
Data Tracking
But at portal run-time, the General Information Page is blank, while the dedicated webdynrpo component at iView preview display below mention error:
com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException:
Failed in WD JNDI lookup. javax.naming.NameNotFoundException:
No child found in WebDynproContext with name mss~eepro
And i have checked in System Information, component mss~eepro is not present.
So, please suggest how to resolve this issue.

First of all you will need Self Service Administrator role to verify that the FPM configuration exists.
1. Download and Deploy the Self Service Administrator role from
Support Packages and Patches > SAP Application Components > SAP ERP > SAP ERP 6.0 > Entry by Component > Portal Content > Support Packages and Patches > BP ERP05 SELF-SERV ADMIN 1.0
2. Follow the steps mentioned in this blog to verify whether the srvconfig folder and the Employee profile folder exists. Also check do you see a corresponding FPM application.
Incase the folders and the FPM applications are not present, you are advised to redeploy the sca files corresponding to MSS.
