RegEx to fix:XML output parsing on separate lines after using piped queries

I have ran two xpath queries to retrieve information about a template. the piped query was to retrieve the and the . When I ran it it retrieved the information as below. It has done this for over 20 lines and in this exact sequence. But what I want is to move the attribute so it is next to attribute because that information is related to the same item. Is there any scriptlet that can help me with this? • Help on XML output challenge needed

    Hello,
    I need some help on getting different data from different relational tables into one XML output.
    Fe: I have 3 different sql queries with no strait relation. Now I want this as a xml document. How can I create a generic method to convert this into xml?
    The situation is as follows:
    the 3 sql queries together produce the data for a report (Fe. header, body, footer).
    I want this transformation in a generic way, so that I do not have to do the xml transformation for each query hardcoded.
    Thanks,
    Edward

    Maybe something like this?:
    select xmlconcat(xml) from (
        select dbms_xmlgen('select * from query1') xml from dual
        union all
        select dbms_xmlgen('select * from query2') from dual
        union all
        select dbms_xmlgen('select * from query3') from dual)

  • Using RDF XML output with custom java concurrent program.

    Hi, I started investigating the java API and did not find the way to use RDF XML output ? The goal is to use the Bursting engine to send out PDF generated from a "RDF XML" and a RTF template.
    Is there someone that could help be with this ?
    Thanks

    Hi Jacky
    Im looking to write a paper on this subject.
    Basically you can write a java conc program that will take the XML output from the Oracle Report and burst it. So you could tackle it a couple of ways.
    1. Have the JCP call the Oracle Report, sit and wait for it to complete then call the bursting engine with the XML and the control file. this has the advantage that its a single step for users to submit the report on the other hand you'll be writing a JCP specifically for that report.
    2. Write a generic JCP that can burst any XML, a little tougher to write but will have applications all over the Apps suites.

  • ns0 Prefix in XML output file

    Dear Gurus,
    I am working on a scenario where vendor master is triggered from  SAP-XI--FTP.
    when i am posting the vendor master on FTP.. i am getting
    the xml output with prefix as below
    <ns0:VENDORID>0000100000</ns0:VENDORID>at each element in vendor master xml file.
    Instead of  <VENDORID>0000100000</VENDORID>
    could anyone tell how to fix this prefix at each level.
    Does i need to add any module in file receiver adapter..or any patch i need to apply ..

    Hi,
    <?for-each:ROW?>
    <?end for-each?><xsl:variable name="cnt" select="count(//row|//ROW)" />
    <?for-each:xdoxslt:foreach_number($_XDOCTX,1,15-count(ROW),1)?> <?end if?>

  • XML Output from Concurrent Request DBMS_XMLGEN

    I am trying to create xml output for a concurrent request, using the DBMS_XMLGEN package to generate my XML?
    I have gotten so far as to be able to run my procedure and see the output in TOAD using dbms_output.put_line, but I can't seem to quite get the right link to convert this to Oracle Apps output.
    I have a concurrent request setup to output XML.
    This calls my procedure to return to the output file.
    So far, when I run from APPS, all that shows in the Output file is 'XML document must have a top level element.'
    Here is the relevant code...
    ctx DBMS_XMLGEN.ctxHandle; -- vars to convert SQL output to xml
    xml clob;
    xmlc varchar2(4000);
    off integer := 1;
    len integer := 4000;
    i number := 0;
    rc_data sys_refcursor;
    begin
    -- this calls simple open cursor for sql statement, returns rows
    rc_data := fa10022_data(P_BOOK_TYPE_CODE
    , P_STATE
    , v_BEG_DATE_EFFECTIVE
    , v_END_DATE_EFFECTIVE
    , P_BEG_ASSET_ACCT
    , P_END_ASSET_ACCT
    , v_depr_per_ctr);
    ctx := dbms_xmlgen.newContext(rc_data);
    dbms_xmlgen.setRowsetTag(ctx, 'XXFA10022');
    dbms_xmlgen.setRowTag(ctx, 'G_DATA');
    xml := dbms_xmlgen.getXml(Ctx);
    i := dbms_xmlgen.getNumRowsProcessed(ctx);
    dbms_xmlgen.closeContext(Ctx);
    apps.fnd_file.put_line(apps.fnd_file.output, xml);
    I was also following this link...
    http://www.appsassociates.com/products/Generation_XML_PLSQL.pdf
    any suggestions?
    Thanks!!
    Janel

    That was painful, but it helped!
    Most of it is workflow code...POXMLGEN contains the pertinent coding.
    I think my problem now lies with some of my data. Depending on what is returned, I sometimes receive a warning with no output. I know there are special characters in the data (ex eacute), but I can't tell if that is what is causing the issue. I do have the statement dbms_xmlgen.setConvertSpecialChars(ctx, TRUE); in my code, so not sure what else to do.
    This is what is being returned in OPP log...
    Caused by: oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start of root element expected.

    Now the problem is, that the concurrent request generates XML with UTF-8 specified. And as soon as there are language specific characters the XML fails to parse.
    Is there any way how to force XML publisher to put ISO-8859-1 in the xml specification?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    My Source BLS output is an XML file. In the ValueMap.vmap (in the Meta-Inf when defining the rule) when I click on "Browse Document" it doesn't give me the option to select the source bls's xml output. Please see the sceenshot below. Is there way to sepecify the BLS XMl output here?

  • Encapsulating Data in XML Output in CDATA tags

    Hi,
    I have a simple pdf fillable form that I created in LiveCycle Designer ES that saves/submits form data as XML for parsing into a database.  The database parser requires all form data to be encapsulated into CDATA tags inside the XML fieldnames or it will not process it.  Can anyone give some pointers to force the XML output to encapsulate the data inside CDATA tags within the XML fieldnames in my output XML file?  Thanks.
    Dan

    Hi Dan,
    Can you post a sample of what you want the xml to look like.  If I understand correctly, it sounds like a very strange parser.  I would imagine you would have to preprocess the xml on the server.

          String realPath = "c:/applyXsl.xsl";

          // Use the TransformerFactory to process the stylesheet Source and  generate a Transformer.
          javax.xml.transform.Transformer transformer = tFactory.newTransformer(new javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource(file));
          java.io.StringReader inputStream = new java.io.StringReader("c:/xmlFile.xml"); // create an input stream for given XML doc
          java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream obj = new java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream(); // Create an output stream for XSL applied XML doc.
          // 3. Use the Transformer to transform an XML Source and send the output to a Result object.
          transformer.transform(new javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource(inputStream), new javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult(obj));
          String outputString = obj.toString(); // get the XSL applied applied XML document for print
          out.println(outputString); // print the XSL applied XML in to JSP.
    however you need xercesImpl.jar  and xml-apis.jar files  to run this program.

  • XML output doesn't have some psecial characters

    Hi All ,
    I am using RDF as my data definition from which i generate some special characters.
    When this RDF is deployed in APPS it doen't generate any character:
    Folowing is a part of xml being generated.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!-- Generated by Oracle Reports version 6.0.8.27.0 -->
    Following a part of XML output i am getting.
    1> FROM Report Builder
    Open RDF -> Generate to File -> XML
    OUTPUT:
    <CF_FIRST_COL>Í,BXLÎ</CF_FIRST_COL>
    2> Running a concurrent program in 11.5.9 having output type XML
    <CF_FIRST_COL>,BX</CF_FIRST_COL>
    The data Í,BXLÎ got converted to ,BX , which is incorrect.
    Kindly someone help. We are using XMLP 5.6.3 versin.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Swapnesh Parmar

    I still doubt it..
    What ever character you have it in database, is going to be fetched in xml..
    be in Report builder, or sql, pl/sql.
    the way the data is being converted is the first we need to see.. if the character is getting messed here..
    once you got it as xml, and open xml in browser, then the parser finds the encoding in the top of xml, and renders the character . if it cannot understand the encoding character, then it will skip or do some abnormal things..
    oracle apps , is generating xml ?? what is that means ??
    data-template ? pl/sql or sql ??

  • Created Excel Template XSL, but XML output always open IE (not Excel)

    Hello,
    We are using :
    -     XML Publisher : 10.1.3.4.1
    -     Oracle Appli : 11.5.10.2 ( DB : 10.2.0.4.0)
    - Oracle Reports Builder : 10.1.2.0.2
    We use Reports for building the query that is used with XML Publisher.
    We would like to use XML Publisher with an output Excel.
    After noticing a problem with display of numeric cells when using a RTF template ( decimal places, there's a lot of threads on this), we decided to follow an advice on xlspe.com, and we created a Excel template, that we saved as a XML Spreadsheet, and using the xlspe tools, we generated the XSL file.
    Then we defined everything in Oracle Applications EBS:
    - data definition
    - template ( XSL-XML as input, and XML as output. Note that XML is the only option)
    - executable ( execution method "Oracle Reports" )
    - program request : ( output format XML )
    This works fine when the use a RTF template with an output Excel. (except the issue on the decimal places). in the concurrrent requests form, the output button opens Excel correctly.
    When we go with a XSL template, with an output XML, the output generation works fine, but, in the concurrent requests form, the output button opens internet explorer IE instead of Excel (probably because it's a XML output file)
    I hope my explanation is clear.
    Did I make a mistake in the definition ?
    Is there anyone who has experienced and solved this issue ?
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Olivier

    Hello,
    After many talks, I found out how to fix this issue.
    Basically, the issue is in Oracle Application where the MIME type is not defined for XML Excel type files.
    By default, XML is open with the browser.
    For solving the opening of XML Excel files with Excel (and not Internet Explorer IE), we had to add under the "System Admin > install > Viewer Options " a new entry for " XML - application/xnd.ms-excel - Microsoft Excel "
    And also, under the System profiles, for option "Viewer: Application for XML", set the value to Microsoft Excel, and, as well, for option "Viewer: Application : Text", set the value to Browser.
    This resolves the issue, and a XML Excel file generated by XML Publisher (from a XSL-XML template), is opened directly with Excel.
    Thanks for your contributrion,
    Olivier

  • Reports 9i XML output structure

    When you set the output format of a report to XML, what is the structure of the resulting XML file? I saw a partial example in Oracle9iAS Reports Services and XML on page 14-5. However, the comment at the top of the example said that it was generated by Reports 6. Does Reports 9i produce the same XML output as version 6 did?

    Corey,
    Does Reports 9i produce the same XML output as version 6 did? You are right except there has been some bug fixes and few enhamcnements. The structure is same for a specific reports ( specifically the specific datamodel) both in 6i / 9i.
    You can use any free DTD generator to generate DTD / schema for the reports XML output.
    Thanks

  • Rendering XML output (with large number of columns) to browser breaks

    We have a stored procedure in our database which returns a cursor with over 400 columns.  When we call the stored procedure from within the QT (using mode FixedQueryWithOutput), it renders just fine and very quickly in CSV format.  however, when we attempt to render it (e.g. post it) as HTML format or XML format, it takes a very long time to render (even thought the results come back very quickly).
    We are using the following specs:
    OS:  Microsoft Vista
    Browser:  IE (v7.0)
    Java:  Java 6, patch 20 (plug-in disabled)
    Any hints/help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Aaron,
    Can you limit the output to a very few rows on the 400 columns you have to render?  It might be a memory or a XML parser constraint on the output client.
    Other option: save the XML in a file (WEB area) then try to export & open the saved data with the browser.
    This will tell you if  the error is at the client level. Also, you can examine the output easily, offline.
    This is practically what I'm doing to analyze XML data transferred to and from SAP using various RFCs.
    IE 8.0 never crashed with XMLs having a size of 3Mb or more (approx 60columns, 10000+ rows, 14 different tables).
    Paul.
