Register Access files from Java

Hello:
I have to create Access databases at runtime from a Java application in Windows. I must also be able to list all data sources registered with Windows from the same application. In all likelihood, all this must be possible via a conversation with the ODBC Manager. But in any event, there must be a piece of native code.
Does anybody have such code or has an idea how to approach putting it together. I'd pay $100 for the code.
Thank you,
Alex

Sure.
We only have to agree on arrangements. Would you send me what you have and trust me that if I see it work I'll pay you $100? You'll have to believe that I do not care for $100 so much as to compromise my integrity. If you have a way for me to pay with my credit card online I gladly will. If you do not, then trust is the way to go.
In the way of introduction, here's my site
http://www.cut-the-knot.com
What I expect your package will contain is
1. C or C++ code that I'd be able to compile.
2. Java test sample.
3. Staying available on private email till I finish testing and feature verification.
Do we have a deal?

  • Accessing files from Java Stored Procedures

    I am trying to access a file from a Java Stored Procedure but get the exception: "no such file or directory". The path and filename as seen by the database JVM is "\\wgcaub01\a1500is\fabi\mmv\mmvtestdata.txt".
    I have granted permissions to open the file using:
    call dbms_java.grant_permission('MMV', 'java.io.FilePermission', '\\\\wgcaub01\\a1500is\\fabi\\mmv\\mmvtestdata.txt', 'read');
    a) When I run the program as a Java class using a main method it works so the problem has to do with the Oracle JVM not finding the file.
    b) The MMV user has permissions on the file after granting them using the above dbms_java.grant_permission command.
    Can you tell me what am I missing? Is this a database configuration issue? Is there a problem with using a UNC path?
    (I am using FileReader and BufferedReader.)

    Vincent,
    Not sure if this is the cause of your problem, but I had some Java code which read from/wrote to a file, and I needed to run the following (you can obviously change <<ALL FILES>> to something more restrictive):
    declare
    security_key number;
    begin
    dbms_java.grant_permission('DAN', 'java.io.FilePermission', '<<ALL FILES>>', 'read,write,execute,delete', security_key);
    dbms_java.grant_permission('DAN', 'java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'writeFileDescriptor', NULL, security_key);
    dbms_java.grant_permission('DAN', 'java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'readFileDescriptor', NULL, security_key);
    end;
    Note that the security_key won't be set if the grant didn't work.
    Hope this helps,

  • Jintegra problem - accessing Matlab from Java??

    Hi:
    Sorry if this post doesn't belong here!!
    I am accessing Matlab from JAVA using JIntegra for COM. I tried running the example in their website.
    (http://j-integra.intrinsyc.com/support/com/doc/other_examples/Matlab.htm)
    I have also posted the example below. I am using their trial version and have included all the jars as said. I get the an unexpected output (all zero's) for reading a variable in the matlab workspace. I don't understand why I get this. Can anyone let me know if this runs for you??
    Thanks
    Pavan
    Example code from Jintegra website:
    public class MatlabExample {
    public static void main(java.lang.String[] args) throws Exception {
    try {
    // DCOM authentication: Make sure NT Domain, NT User, NT Password are valid credentials.
    // Uncomment this line if MatlabExample.java remotely accesses MATLAB :
    // com.linar.jintegra.AuthInfo.setDefault("NT DOMAIN", "NT USER", "NT PASSWORD");
    // Create the MATLAB object
    // Specify host name or IP address of MATLAB machine as parameter if
    // MatlabExample.java remotely accesses MATLAB.
    // mlapp.MLApp mlApp = new mlapp.MLApp("123.456.789.0");
    mlapp.MLApp mlApp = new mlapp.MLApp();
    String result = mlApp.execute("a = [1 2 3 4; 5 6 7 8;]");
    System.out.println("Execute result is " + result);
    double mreal[][] = new double[2][4];
    double mimage[] = new double[0];
    mlApp.getFullMatrix("a", "base", new Object[]{mreal}, new Object[]{mimage});
    for (int i = 0; i < 2; i++) {
    for (int j = 0; j < 4; j++) {
    System.out.println(mreal[i][j]);
    } finally {
    com.linar.jintegra.Cleaner.releaseAll();
    }

    ......How are you declaring the class in your JSP? ... are you instantiating it as a bean using the useBean tag, or just instantiating it in your code like normal.
    Maybe you could post the relevant JSP code too?
    Hello again,
    Only the last string is populating after the file has be tokenized. What I'll like to accomplish is passing the very first string in the file. I did not get too far in the JSP file setup because the code is still in it's testing stage, but any help will be highly appreciated.
    Here is the JSP code
    <%@page import="dev.*" %>
    <%@page session="true" language="java" import="java.io.*" %>
    <jsp:useBean id="wagerhist" scope="request" class="dev.RoundDetail2" />

  • [JDBC][ODBC] How to compact access database from Java ?

    Hello,

    For now, I don'y compact it but it would be better.
    So How can I compact an access database from Java ?
    thanks :)

    Hi ypiel,
    Try this:
    1) Download JETCOMP.exe (freeware from Microsoft);
    2) Put the following code in your app (assuming your database file name is: "DB.mdb"):
    try {
    File current = new File("DB.mdb");
    File backup = new File("BACKUP.mdb");
    if (current.renameTo(backup)) {
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("jetcomp -src:BACKUP.mdb -dest:DB.mdb");
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println(e.getMessage());

  • Creating Folder and Accessing Files from Folders in mobile phone

    Hello Friends,
    I am doing my project where I need to create folders and accessing files from those folders in java enabled mobile phones.But I do not know the required tasks for this.Any type of help is highly appreciated.
    Greeting
    Saadi

    You have to get the classname of the Items you receive from getitems.
    There you have only to look for Folder.CLASS_NAME. Example:
    ifsFol sorted by names in ascending order (names of folders and files)
    String[] sort_attributes = {"NAME"};
    //sort will be ascending
    boolean [] sort_orders = {true};
    oracle.ifs.common.SortSpecification sort = new oracle.ifs.common.SortSpecification(sort_attributes, sort_orders);
    ifsFol.setSortSpecification(sort);
    PublicObject[] contents = ifsFol.getItems();
    System.out.println("Here are the names of the items in folder: ");
    for (int i=0; i < contents.length; i++) {
    if (contents.getClassname().equals(Folder.CLASS_NAME)) {
    System.out.println(contents[i].getName());
    null

  • How register COM object from java?

    Hi!
    In my user home directory I have myCOM.dll. My sign applet use this myCOM.dll. But before use this dll I must register it (by use regsvr32).When myCOM.dll will be success register my applet can work. The problem is that I can not get answer from regsvr3 (is myCOM.dll are successed registered or not, or is user has a grants to register COM object and so on.)
    Again, my java applet can work ONLY when myCOM.dll is registered.
    How I can register myCOM.dll from java applet and if registered is not success exit from java applet?

    I must not have been clear. I am not asking how to access a COM object using Java, we already have tools to do that.
    The question is whether there is a way to define a COM interface using Java. I want to code my COM object in Java. Right now we are using PowerBuilder to code COM objects. I would rather use Java.

    Format the external drive as FAT32 or ExFAT. Both computers will then be able to read and write to it.

  • Executing batch file from Java stored procedure hang

    Dears,
    I'm using the following code to execute batch file from Java Stored procedure, which is working fine from Java IDE JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.
    public static String runFile(String drive)
    String result = "";
    String content = "echo off\n" + "vol " + drive + ": | find /i \"Serial Number is\"";
    try {
    File directory = new File(drive + ":");
    File file = File.createTempFile("bb1", ".bat", directory);
    file.deleteOnExit();
    FileWriter fw = new java.io.FileWriter(file);
    fw.write(content);
    fw.close();
    // The next line is the command causing the problem
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd.exe /c " + file.getPath());
    BufferedReader input = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream()));
    String line;
    while ((line = input.readLine()) != null)
    result += line;
    input.close();
    file.delete();
    result = result.substring( result.lastIndexOf( ' ' )).trim();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    result = e.getClass().getName() + " : " + e.getMessage();
    return result;
    The above code is used in getting the volume of a drive on windows, something like "80EC-C230"
    I gave the SYSTEM schema the required privilege to execute the code.
    EXEC DBMS_JAVA.grant_permission('SYSTEM', 'java.io.FilePermission', '&lt;&lt;ALL FILES&gt;&gt;', 'read ,write, execute, delete');
    EXEC DBMS_JAVA.grant_permission('SYSTEM', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'writeFileDescriptor', '');
    EXEC DBMS_JAVA.grant_permission('SYSTEM', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'readFileDescriptor', '');
    GRANT JAVAUSERPRIV TO SYSTEM;
    I have used the following to load the class in Oracle 9ir2 DB:
    loadjava -u [system/******@orcl|mailto:system/******@orcl] -v -resolve C:\Server\src\net\dev\Util.java
    CREATE FUNCTION A1(drive IN VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2 AS LANGUAGE JAVA NAME 'net.dev.Util.a1(java.lang.String) return java.lang.String';
    variable serial1 varchar2(1000);
    call A1( 'C' ) into :serial1;
    The problem that it hangs when I execute the call to the function (I have indicated the line causing the problem in a comment in the code).
    I have seen similar problems on other forums, but no solution posted

    I have posted this in JDeveloper forum ([t-853821]) but suggested to post for forum in DB.
    Can anyne help?

    Dear Peter,
    You are totally right, I got this as mistake copy paste. I'm just having a Java utility for running external files outside Oracle DB, this is the method runFile()
    I'm passing it the content of script and names of file to be created on the fly and executed then deleted, sorry for the mistake in creating caller function.
    The main point, how I claim that the line in code where creating external process is the problem. I have tried the code with commenting this line and it was working ok, I made this to make sure of the permission required that I need to give to the schema passing security permission problems.
    The function script is running perfect if I'm executing vbs script outside Oracle using something like "cscript //NoLogo aaa1.vbs", but when I use the command line the call just never returns to me "cmd.exe /c bb1.bat".
    where content of bb1.bat as follows:
    echo off
    vol C: | find /i "Serial Number is"
    The above batch file just get the serial number of hard drive assigned when windows formatted HD.
    Same code runs outside Oracle just fine, but inside Oracle doesn't return if I exectued the following:
    variable serial1 varchar2(1000);
    call A1( 'C' ) into :serial1;
    Never returns
    Thanks for tracing teh issue to that details ;) hope you coul help.

    <password>xxxx</password>

    Let us assume you have all the data from the jsp form in an java bean object..
    Now you want a xml file. This can be acheived in 2 ways
    1. Write it into a file using java.io classes. Say you have a class with name
    write("<name>"+obj.getName+</name>);
    bingo you have a flat file with the xml
    2. Use data binding to do the trick
    will recommend JiBx and Castor for the 2nd option
