Registering OWB-user without Designer and OMB Plus?

Is there any way, to register an owb-user via sql or PL/SQL?
Reason: The (customer-)dbas don´t allow to use an OMB Plus/TCL-script or the OWB Designer in the production environment :-(

Do you want to register a location?
If that's the case:
What version of OWB are you on? If you're on versions lower than 10gR2, you could create an extra runtime connection to the production environment in your test or acceptance environment, register the production locations from the deployment manager and deploy the connectors.
I don't know how to do this in 10gR2
Good luck in fooling the DBA's ;-)

  • ISE Wired Guest + user without supplicant and dynamic vlan change

    Hi All,
    I have two issues:
Is it still an issue when a wired user who is directed to the ISE CWA, is able to stay authenticated as a guest for as long as they stay connected?
This is happening on our test pilot - a guest with 2 hour access on a wired connection can maintain the guest access for as long as they desire.
I hear that this isnt an issue for wireless, but yet to try this out. Is there a workaround for this?
Secondly my testing confirms that only users with a supplicant eg anyconnect NAM can be dynamically changed into a vlan (only tested on wired).
What I'd hope to do, is create a policy that when wired guest connect in, to dynamically change their vlan to the guest vlan (same one guest WLAN users will use).
Is this possible if the guest doesnt have a supplicant?

One of my tasks was to rebuild the multiportal config, and looks like there was an option there to do a VLAN dhcp release and renew. I wont know if this will work until next week but it sounds promising. It was tucked down on the screen so I had to scroll down to find it...
Still dont have an answer about the guest able being able stay authenticated, or does this feature solve this issue as well? Only time will tell..

  • OMB*Plus error defining CONTROL_FILE_LOCATION property

    Hello,
I have built a script which creates a mapping that, simply, maps all fields from a flat file to a stage table. A column called 'CAP_DATE' is added to the table and this column is mapped from a constant. The mapping is under 'STG' module within 'Databases/Oracle' module.
I want to set the CONTROL_FILE_LOCATION mapping property in order to set the location which the .ctl file will be deployed in. The location name is 'PHASE_1B' and it is defined within 'Files' module.
So, when I try to run the following statement (within 'STG' context):
OMBALTER MAPPING '$map_0' SET PROPERTIES (CONTROL_FILE_NAME,CONTROL_FILE_LOCATION) VALUES ('$map_0.tcl','PHASE_1B')
    I get the error:
OMB02902: Error setting property CONTROL_FILE_LOCATION of M_ST_NCRM_INTTXT: PUB02106: Invalid value PHASE_1B for property CONTROL_FILE_LOCATION on map M_ST_NCRM_INTTXT: PUB02769 : PHASE_1B is not the name of a valid location for this property.
I think this is because the location I'm trying to assign is in another context and OMB*Plus doesn't find it. Am I right? How can I solve this problem?
    Kind regards,
    Natividad.

    Stas,
I don't think you're doing something wrong... I just did:
    OMB+> OMBREDEFINE CLASS_DEFINITION 'PROJECT' \
    ADD PROPERTY_DEFINITION 'WHATEVER' \
SET PROPERTIES (TYPE) VALUES ('STRING')OMB+> OMBALTER PROJECT 'MY_PROJECT' \
    SET PROPERTIES (UDP_WHATEVER) \
    VALUES ('Hello')
which works fine. I think you are hitting a bug. Have to admit, I am running version 9.2.0.4 for this example... but I get the same problem for your scenario. I.e. I filed bug 3686842. Only workaround is to use the UI for now.
    Thanks,
    Mark.

  • OMB plus Creating Locations Modules And Importing the Metadata?

    Hi All,
First of all I would like to thank you all of you in advance for all your time and concern. I have serious of questions and I will ask them in 3 different portions as they are slightly different.
How can I implement the steps below using OMB plus? If you could provided sample script and notation it will be highly appreciated.
-- Creating an Oracle Location for a Schema and Registering it
-- Creating an Module and relating it to the location that was created.
-- Importing the metadata for all the objects in this Schema in to this module.
    For example,
You have a schema called ORACLE_SRC. I need to create the location and module for this schema and tie them each other. Then I need to import all the metadata for all the objects in this ORACLE_SRC schema. During this import all the preserve statements should be unchecked. And I need to accomplish all these using OMB plus and TCL scripting.
-- Creating an Non Oracle (SQL server 2005) Location for a database and Registering it
-- Creating an Module and relating it to the location that was created.
-- Importing the metadata for all the objects in this Schema in to this module.
    For example,
You have a schema called SQLSERVER_SRC. I need to create the location and module for this schema and tie them each other. Then I need to import all the metadata for all the objects in this SQLSERVER_SRC schema. During this import all the preserve statements should be unchecked. And I need to accomplish all these using OMB plus and TCL scripting.

Thanks again for all your help and concern!

In addition to the performance issue above I have faced an extremely more important problem. When I have used the same logic for importing Materialized views I am getting an error at the last step of the script. It is exactly the same case also for EXTERNAL_TABLE objects. TABLE and VIEW objects are fine. OMBIMPORT command throw the error message below.
PUB04201: Encountered an internal fatal error during processing of oracle module XXX_DMY_DWPROD_TST: unsupported obj type.
I would like to mention that MATERIALIZED_VIEW is the object name I took from OWB scripting Reference guide. I have tried couple other naming conventions too but it didn't work.
Strange thing is If I were to change MATERIALIZED_VIEW to TABLE it works but the materialized view gets imported into 'Tables' folder under the module.
    Please help?

  • OWB PRO out there : is it possible SQL to execute OMB*PLUS from Database ?

    Hi,
With 11g out : is there any expert who sucessfully integrate pl/sql routine to call OMB. Here's the point : You have an APEX application and you design your stuff and at one point you wish you just have to press a button and generate a first draft of your design in the OWB repository, and then developpers can have a frame to start designing from your perspective.
Also, imagine you have an APEX form to approve the testing of a design or process flow or both, and when you press the i approve button, you get call an OMB*Plus routine that do all the export->import reconcile and deploy thing!
I don't think i'm alone to need this kind of stuff. So since OWB is Java, and Oracle database speek Java : is it possible to think of a quick solution ?
    Thank you all.

    Hi bpaquet,
As you know OMB+ is TCL extension, and as i know OMB is not integrated into RDBMS.
I think, there can be several solutions.
    1. Execute shell scripts from db using dbms_pipe package.
    2. Execute shell scripts using some java external procedure.
    3. Create some OS scheduled job (crontab), which will check some values in DB and execute OMB scripts.

  • Designing Java Apps for Users Without a JRE Installed Yet

Hi, sorry if this post is in the wrong place, but here goes:
I'm designing a Swing Java application for a client. My client intends to distribute/sell this application.
I'm concerned because, chances are that at least one of the people he distributes this application to will not have the JRE installed and will thus be unable to run the application.
Can anyone give me some suggestions on ways I can make my application more convenient for users without the JRE currently installed? Even some kind of error message that would direct the user to the JRE download site would be okay.

Use NSIS and package your application with JRE.
Add your jar files to lib/ext of the JRE package.
NSIS can create a short cut (desktop/start menu) to launch java class/jar file
I would not use webstart unless you are sure that clients will have access to the internet, the bandwidth is not an issue and installing the new JRE is allowed (permissions, SLA, etc.)
    Best regards.

  • Inserting sql scripts in OWB 10g using OMB PLUS

Hey burleson, thanks for the reply..
Infact i am new to OWB and my question can be very silly to you.
Infact i have 1 source table in OWB named 'SALGRADE' which contains data and i have 1 target table named 'TARGET_SALGRADE' which has the same structure as the source table.
The script i have run and tested is as such :
    INSERT INTO TARGET_SALGRADE
    (GRADE,
    LOSAL,
    HISAL)
    SELECT
    GRADE,
    LOSAL,
    HISAL
    FROM SCOTT.SALGRADE;
I have tested it in sqlplus and the update has been done.
Can you please tell me how do i proceed in OMB PLUS and how do i write the script there??
    Regards,
    Amrish

You can run SQL scripts using the SQLPLus activity in a process flow.
    But the traditional mechanism to move data in OWB is using mappings. The post below might be interesting if you know SQL to understand how mappings are constructed;

  • OMB*Plus Command for Maintain/Add/Remove Experts in Context and Tools Menue

    Hi there,
does anybody know how to maintain Experts in the Context- and Tools-Menue by OMB-Commands?
The problem ist, that I transfer Experts into another workspace via OMBEXPORT/OMBIMPORT,
and I would like to maintain the menues in my batch-script.
Can't find anything in the docu about this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Andreas

    Hi David,
thank you very much for the quick and correct answer.
Just a few more questions about this.
Now, as I know the answer, I found it in the documentation as well.
But I allways find it very hard to find anything in the OMB*Plus Command Reference . And also with the description of the OMBMENU command: Why is there no description about the parameters in the reference? Where is the list of valid object types, and where is the description of the "QUOTED_STRING" (NEW, OPEN)?
This command is just an example for the, in my opinion, really poor quality of the OWB*Plus Command Reference.
Is there any underlaying reason for this that I do not understand, or is there a special strategy to work with this document, or do I just need more practice?
The answers to this questions would be very helpfull for me, but also for my customer, where we start to implement a quite big DWH on OWB basis.
    Thanks again.

  • What is the diffrence between OMB plus command and OMB command

what is the diffrence between OMB plus command and OMB command?
    are they both TCL command?

    Hi Alena,
    Welcome to SDN.
    Check this
EXIT in Loops and Modularization Units
    Basic form
    EXIT.
    Effect
    Within a loop structure:
Terminates looop processing (DO, WHILE, LOOP, SELECT).
Within subroutines and other modularization units (but not in a loop structure):
Leaves the subroutine or modularization unit (FORM, MODULE, FUNCTION, TOP-OF-PAGE, END-OF-PAGE).
Outside loop structures and modularization units (report processing):
Terminates report processing and triggers list display.
    But not sure about
atexit() .. ,may use in Object Oriented Programming.
    (C++)
    "At exit-command in module pool."

How do I create one Apple ID and iTunes user name and password for all of my Apple products: iPad, iPhone, and iPod plus iTunes on my PC?

Yes, I do have multiple devices and it appeared to me that every time I tried to sync or log onto iTunes, the password was incorrect.  Consequently, I was and am constantly changing it.  Wouldn't it be nice if Apple would simply say that you only need one Apple ID and one password regardless of the number of Apple devices you intend to sync via iTunes.
Barring the above, how about a way to merge all of the Apple IDs and passwords into one.

    Hello forum,
Hopefully a simple question.  My father-in-law passed recently, leaving behind an unopened copy of CS 5.5 Master Collection Student and Teacher Edition for Macs.  How can I find out if he registered this software without opening it?  After finding out how much this software runs, I'd like to sell or return it if possible to give the money to my mother-in-law for funeral costs.
    Thank you,

    Mylenium,
    Thanks for the quick response!
Thats a shame that it can't be used. Are you sure I couldn't donate the software to a university or school?  It just seems like a big waste for something so expensive.
