Registration works, smpatch doesn't
Howdy,
For some reason sconadm now completes the registration process (this just started workign this morning), but smpatch states that the system is unregistered:
# sconadm register -a -r RegistrationProfile
sconadm is running
Authenticating user ...
finish registration!
# smpatch analyze
Failure: Cannot connect to retrieve Database/current.zip: This system is currently unregistered and is unable to retrieve patches from the Sun Update Connection. Please register your system using the Update Manager.
Shouldn't sconadm have registered the system? What do I need to do to fix this?

Yup. I tried all of the recommendations in the message forums, but smpatch refuses to work. Luckily I came across the pca utility:
http://www.par.univie.ac.at/solaris/pca/
And this seems to do the trick (I can use my sunsolve id /passwd to retrieve patches with pca).

Hi everyone, I have a computer linked to my iPAD through itunes. Then my Computer crashed and had to get a new one. How do I get rid of the old computers link on ipad and get it on new computer bcos is wont work! (doesn't work) PLZ HELP

My iphone 6 connects to the car via bluetooth, the music works good, but the phone calls does not work. It looks like it is working but doesn't. I have tried in my Hyundai Sonata and a Dodge Dart rent car and get the same results. I updated the last 8.0.2. It worked the first day i had the phone, and then i updated to Ios 8.0.2 and it quit working.
Now when i get in the car, it acts like it is connected and makes the same call it was on after syncing to bluetooth, but it really isn't on a call. This is happening on both cars.
Does anyone know if this is the phone and i need to take it to Apple or if there is an issue that Apple is working on getting a fix for?
My son in law has the exact same phone as me, we both got the on 10/6, he had a Dodge Dart and his is working via bluetooth.
Someone HELP please, as i consider this a safety issue by not having my calls go to bluetooth.We had the same problem, but figure out the solution.
You MUST have at least 1 song added to your ITUNE! After you add a free song, then everything else should work as normal!

My iTunes suddenly stopped working and doesn't recognize any of my devices and gives me a AMD error. I've tried several times to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall to no avail. I'm running windows 7 on a Dell laptop. It worked fine for years then I decided to update my iPhone 4S and it didn't recognize it or any other iPod or iPad.
Can someone please help ?I am having all sorts of problems with 9.1.1.Crashes and not only iTunes but I have to restart all the time.

I started update connected to my work computer....it started update and now it is asking me to connect to Itunes, which I have but my work computer doesn't have my Iphone information, it says I have the latest software, my only option is to "restore phone" which I don't want to do here at work as none of my apps or music are showing up ..... I can't use my phone now when I start up it says connect to itunes.....

micosoft word isn't working. it said to see available updates so i did and updated it and sill doesn't work. it doesn't open.

Locked Work Status doesn't work

This is a new case.
I have original work status like this. I show MAN only in this example
Unlock MAN=unlock
Submitted MAN=owner
Approved MAN=locked
Then I add a new work status line as the intial state
Start MAN=locked
Unlock MAN=unlock
Submitted MAN=owner
Approved MAN=locked
The purpose of the Start work status is to prevent the user submit something at the initial state.
But the Start work status doesn't lock anything, user is freely to submit data on this work state.
My analysis,
I changed the current work status from Start to Unlock and switch it back to Start and the lock does its job.
Anybody has the same issue?

The workstatus mechanism makes use of a table called tblFINANCElock (or what name your application has). In the beginning there are no records in this table which indicates that the data is unlocked. Once you update the status for the first time a record is generated with a status. From now on the system can link the records to the work status setting that you have defined and see that status "start" should lock the data. I think this functioality works as it is intended, and the only workaround for you is to lock and unlock the data before the users start entering data for that period.

What kind of external camera is this? I am assuming it is a USB camera? Make sure that you aren't using any USB hubs. Also try connecting it to another USB port. Have you installed the drivers from the camera manufacturer yet?

I admit, it's been awhile since I synchronized. Just did so, and all appeared right with the world, the handheld made the appropriate noises and showed the appropriate actions and same on the computer (XP, connect as always have through USB). In other words, they appeared to "talk" and said they were synchronizing. But my data (like important calendar entries) is simply not there. Nothing. Nada. Nothing recently added.
I tried repeating it several times. Yes, I have the system set up so that desktop overrides handheld. So what's up? Used this a lot in the past, never had this happen.

Using XP and the original hot sync that came with palm and that I've always used--no changes. Help????

I have a Palm Z22 and Windows Vista--things were going great until a few days ago when I noticed that the palm weren't connecting. The Hotsync process proceeds normally, there are no problems noted in the hotsync log, and yet things do not travel from the computer to the palm and vice versa. I've tried pretty much everything: I know the palm is connected to the desktop, not Outlook; I have tried soft and hard resets; I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software multiple times; I know the username is correct.
I suspect the problem has something to do with Vista; when I restored my computer to a previous time it started working fine but this morning it stopped again. The computer may be automatically updating in a way that is preventing the Palm Desktop software (verson 4.2) from working. Version 6.2 seems to work but I really hate it--there's no color schemes or categories. If someone could help me out with this I would really, really appreciate it.

Entering Registration Code for Quicktime acts like it works but doesn't actually
I've read a lot of these quicktime troubleshooting steps and support Q&A but can't seem to get Pro to unlock. I have verified that I am typing correctly in both the Registered To and Registration Code fields on the register.
When I hit Apply it produces a line of text that says QuickTime 7 Pro, but that's it.
When I hit okay and try to use some of the QT Pro functionality, say file>New Player it still acts like I don't have Pro. if I click About QuickTime it doesn't says 7.7.1 not pro
So heres what I have tried so far. Restarting Quicktime. Restarting the Computer. Uninstalling Quicktime Restarting the computer and Reinstalling Quicktime and trying to register again.
The problem still pursists. I have purchased the Windows Version, am running Windows 7, and have the latest version of quicktime. I don't mind re-doing any of these steps if it will help troubleshoot this problem. It won't say "pro" anywhere other than a small "Pro" tag on the QuickTime "Q" logo. If the Pro labels disappeared from the commands and they're no longer greyed out, the key was correctly registered.
If "New Player" doesn't work, something else is amiss. First, confirm that the new player isn't just hiding behind an existing one or other window. If that's definitely not the case, do any of the other Pro functions such as Export work? Or are all of the functions not working?

TREX registration to SLD doesn't work.
Hi everyone!
I have installed a new TREX 7.0 with the latest patch level and I have a real issue in the post task of the TREX installation guide. When the TREX tries to update the remote SLD with own data it get's an error message "HTTP ERROR CODE 400" Bad request. I'm using the default port 50000 and XISUPER as user to connect to the SLD. The SLD runs on the same instance as SAP XI. Is it possibly to run SAP XI 3.0 SP 18 with NW2004s TREX or do I need to upgrade the SAP XI instance to the latest WEB AS (ABAP & JAVA) to be able to communicate with the TREX? I have also updated the SLD with the latest CIM model and I'm now running out of ideas. So any suggestions would be nice.

As a solution part please cerify that u have to apply the same patch level in ABAP+JAVA, also identify which is the lowest level patch required by TREX to be installed on the system.
I think the problem is in Patch level..if it is not then please follow all the procedure describe in "Installation - Search and Classification TREX Single Host.pdf" on service.sap.com

Sending photos to Lightroom over network - what works, what doesn't?
This weekend, my wife and I are helping with a photo shoot (member's photo directory for a local non-profit).
Here is what we've done in the past with Picasa and what we're trying to duplicate:
Photographer takes photos, which are saved onto his Windows laptop via Firewire in the studio.
SyncBack SE running on two networked Windows PCs make copies of the photos from the laptop onto the local hard drives.
Picasa automatically detected the newly-taken photos with its "Watch Folder" feature.
My wife and I do some cropping, adjusting, etc, so that the photos can be quickly reviewed and selected by the customer.
We exported the edited photos into folders in JPEG format.
The photographer takes the JPEGs and uses them to guide his re-edits of the raw photos with PhotoShop.
Ouch! Re-editing wastes a TON of time!
This time, we plan to use LightRoom; this will ensure that our cropping and editing will go right into PhotoShop easily (or so I'm told--I haven't USED LightRoom much yet!)
Big show-stopper: testing (by the photographer) caused duplicate photos in the LightRoom library, mitigated by a manual step or two to import as a work around some LightRoom quirks. And LightRoom doesn't really play nicely with network drives, or so it seems.
I think what we're aiming for is to have a "local catalog" in LightRoom, and have the photos stored in a network drive which it will "watch". That way, all we need to do is export our cropped/edited LightRoom catalogs, which the photographer can import into LightRoom, then it's a quick jump to PhotoShop.
... or is this not the tool for the job?Per documentation Lr is not a network operation and per several posts in this forum is stated as such. I stopped using Picasa when Lr came out for the public. With PsCS5 another tool comes up as Bridge which I have not used. I have only read the basic Adobe description. Though I do know several Pro Photographers do use Bridge with multiple users even in different states. I do not see why you are editing jpegs for Proofs and as samples for a Photographer to re-edit in a different format, no matter which software you use. My workflow uses RAW files and an Import as DNG along with make a second copy to another folder in Lr and archive of RAW files after a double check of files and I only Export as jpeg after processing. But I only use 1 Lr Catalog and not a network solution.
My way of course is just my opinion of how my service works. Does anyone here also use Adobe Bridge?
