Registry-server discoveryURL

Hi,
how can I change the dicoveryURL saved by the registry server?
I want to use the ip of my machine instead of "localhost".
I'm using jwsdp-1_0 on RedHat 7.2.
Thanks,
Enrico.

The discoveryURL of an organization is represented as an ExternalLink of an Organization Element. In JAXR all Organization interfaces extend RegistryObject which has an externalLink element. An externalLink represents a URI that points to a resource that is external to the registry and repository. So the following skeleton code should work:
//Get the organization using a classification.
BulkResponse br = businessquerymanager.findOrganizations(...);
Assume only one organizationFound
Collection orgs = br.getCollection();
if(orgs.hasNext()){
Organization org = (Organization)orgs.next();
//Get the external links:
Collection discoveryLinks = org.getExternalLinks();
ExternalLink link = businesslifeCycleManager.createExternalLink(
          "http://myserver/discoverylink", "My discoveryURL");
org.addExternalLink(link);
This is just skeleton code but it should work. Note if you want to create an entry in the registry you need to use the BusinessLifeCycleManager to do this. You get Businesslifecycle from the RegistryService.
HTH.

  • Problems accessing Web service from registry server

    "Hi,
    While trying to develop a dynamic webservice, I encounter some problems.
    The details are as follows:
    I develop a webservice with following interfaces and implementation
    classes:
    Interface : pricequote.IPriceQuote
    Implementation : pricequote.PriceQuoteImpl
    The service does get registered on the XINDICE registry server. ( I am
    using JWSDP to develop the above), and also is deployed on the tomcat
    server.
    I have specified the following path for the service end point:
    http://localhost:8080/PriceQuoteService/pricequote/IPriceQuote

    please confirm that this is occuring with the lastest version, 1.0_01 of the JWSDP. if this occuring with the latest version, let's do some debugging. please set the debug level to "trace" for the RegistryServer as documented in:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.0/registry-server/ReleaseNotes.html#logging
    and then examine ${JWSDP_HOME}/logs/catalina.out. look for the incomming request to authorize the user. the trace after that should help identify the problem.

  • Registry Server run on which port?

    Dear All,
    Hi. I installed my Java WSDP. How do I know that whether the Registry Server is running, and which port is the registry server running on?
    Can you please advice? Thank you very much.

    A sidenote: it's x window or x, windows is a software product from a certain company in redmond, WA.
    Also: on unix/linux it's 5801 (access via http/browser using an applet) and 5901 (access via client/native vnc protocol). Only on windows 5800/5900 (vnc port 0) is used.

  • JAXR - querying Registry Server

    I downloaded the JAVATM WEB SERVICES DEVELOPER PACK EA2. I having been working through the tutorial and I have been able to publish to the Registry Server using both the java program that comes with the tutorial and the Explorer client that comes with the tutorial. However, when I try to query the Organization I created, I get an error in both the java query app and the browser which are part of the tutorial as well. The apps return the organization information but when it they try to get User information such as primary contact or email, I get the following error.
    java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sun.xml.registry.uddi.infomodel.OrganizationImpl
    I've doubled checked my class paths which seem OK.
    My SDK is 1.3.1_02
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hello,
    I have created a new user same as u(through the indri tool). In that tool it is showing two users i.e testuser and newuser when i select the authinfo collection. I have created a node in uddi collection(that is same as publish) and i tried to query that information from the registry server. Then i got the ClasscastException for BusinessKey. That error is because i have created that node through the indri tool. If we publish an Organization internally it will create the unique key for every organization. Because of that reason i got that classcast exception. In your case also i am expecting the error because of some unique key violation.
    But i am facing problem with publishing information from the registry server. I am getting Unknown_user exception while publishing. As mentioned above i have created a new user same as you and tried to publish data.
    Please tell me the proper steps to follow for publishing data without getting Unknownuser exception.
    My working environment is Windows2000. I have placed the build.properties file in the c:\documents and settings\my_profiles.

    Of course I'm using this feature too. Generally I talk about search conditions/expressions. By the way in smart albums the same problem with search expressions. When I want create a smart album with my friend "Smith" for example and in the Smart album search criterias enter "smith" with small "s" then my friend doesn't appear in this album while I don't change the name as it witten in address book "Smith" with big "S".
    You see?

    Depending on your OS, there are two possibilities:
    PointBase:
    the .lck file was not being deleted due to a permission error, and that led to a string of events that would cause the check point error. (e.g. a rollback would be attempted on every access to the db)
    Adding "FilePermission delete" to the servlet block of the lib/security/server.policy file fixed the problem.
    or
    After installing the Sun ONE Studio 4 update 1 software, I'm receiving errors trying to use the J2EE RI server, the PointBase database, and/or the internal UDDI Registry. How do I fix this?
    Applicable to release S1S4u1 EEfJ. Also applicable to releases: S1S7 EEfS (Solaris environment only)
    If you are in a Solaris(TM) environment and plan to use the PointBase Server 4.2 Restricted Edition database, the J2EE(TM) Reference Implementation 1.3.1 server, the internal Java(TM) Web Services Developer Pack's (JWSDP) Tomcat 4.1 server, or the internal UDDI registry server packaged with the Sun(TM) ONE Studio, Enterprise Edition for Java(TM) software (IDE), be aware that you must have write access to the IDE directories used by these components. To ensure a writeable IDE installation, install a personal copy of the Sun ONE Studio, Enterprise Edition for Java software in your home directory and run the product from this location.
    Please note that the default Solaris installation procedure causes the <s1studio-install-dir> tree to be owned by the root user. Therefore, a non-root user running the IDE will be denied write access resulting in errors when attempting to run any of these packaged servers.
    To install a personal copy of the Sun ONE Studio 4, Enterprise Edition for Java, please use the following instructions.
    If you have the Sun ONE Studio 4 update 1 CD, do the following:
    1.Be sure you are logged on as 'yourself', not a root user.
    2.Insert the CD. NOTE: If the Auto run feature is enabled, an installer wizard appears and asks for the root password. Close this wizard. Do not install this product as root user.
    3.From the directory where you want the IDE installed, type /cdrom/s1studio/image/ffj_installers_ee/ffj_ee_solsparc_en.bin
    4.Follow the install panels, using the Sun ONE Studio 4, Enterprise Edition for Java Getting Started Guide (found at http://forte.sun.com/ffj/documentation/s1s41/getstartedee41.pdf )for any additional information.
    If you have downloaded Sun ONE Studio 7, Enterprise Edition for Solaris from the web site, do the following:
    1. Go to this web site http://www.sun.com/software/sundev/jde/buy/index.html and read the section called "Before you Download" for additional pre-install information.
    2. Scroll to the area entitled Enterprise Edition for Java and click on the Try & Buy Download link. This takes you to the Download Center Login page.
    3. Enter your username and password to login, (you may need to register). Accept the license agreement. You will be presented with the download page.
    4. Be sure you are logged on as 'yourself', not a root user.
    5. Find the correct file for the Solaris platform, ffj_ee_solsparc_en.bin, (151.54MB), and click the link to begin the product download, saving the file into a download directory of your choice.
    6. Once the download is complete, set the DISPLAY environment variable to display to your local system, for example: % setenv DISPLAY your-local-system:0.0
    7. Set the execute permission on the ffj_ee_solsparc_en.bin file by typing: % chmod a+x ffj_ee_solsparc_en.bin
    8. Execute the installer as a non-root user by typing (from the download directory): % ffj_ee_solsparc_en.bin
    9. See the Sun ONE Studio 4, Enterprise Edition for Java Getting Started Guide (found at http://forte.sun.com/ffj/documentation/s1s41/getstartedee41.pdf ) for additional installation and configuration information.

  • Oracle Service Registry+Jdeveloper

    Hi All,
    I am trying to integrate Jdeveloper with Oracle Service Registry. I am referring to the Developer Guide for OSR and i want to do the following section:
    *4.1.2. Using the JDeveloper Integration*
    Once you have established a connection to Oracle Service Registry from JDeveloper, you can take advantage of JDeveloper's
    integration features.
    *1. Right-click on an Oracle Service Registry connection in the Connection Navigator and select Find Web Services.*
    *2. Enter a search string to find your service. Use the % symbol to perform a wildcard search.*
    *3. Select the interface, or portType, for the published service.*
    *4. Select the service implementing the interface.*
    *5. Review the information returned for the service to verify it is the one you are searching for.*
    *6. Select the Generate stub code into the project option to generate a client-side stub or proxy for the selected service.*
    JDeveloper generates the stub based on the WSDL published to the Registry.
    *7. Click Open the endpoint of this service in a Web browser to test the service.*
    *8. Click Display a report describing this service to view a report summarizing the UDDI metadata stored in the*
    Registry for the selected service.
    *9. Click Just add the business providing this service to the UDDI browser to add the service provider as a persisted*
    entry under the UDDI Registry connection node in the Connection Navigator.
    I have created the UDDI connection in Jdev. Now when i right click it, i cannot see the "find WebServices" option. Can anyone help me with this
    Thanks & Regards.

    Hi Dan,
    I was also facing the same issue as mentioned earlier by Debby. On your advice I went ahead and installed Oracle 10gR2 on the machine I wanted to install the Registry Server. The entire process went smoothly and finally I was able to login to the registry.
    Thanks for the same.
    But now I have a question regarding this setup.
    One single machine hosting Oracle 10g SOA Suite, Oracle 10g Database and the Service Registry. Don't you think it would be too much to ask from a single machine, specially when you know that you will have your development team creating web services, deploying the application on the same OC4J container and webservice client inquiring the published web services once again from the applications deployed on same server.
    I would like your feedback on why Registry Service setup process necessitates Oracle 10g DB server also on the same machine. Or is that there some other installer for Service Registry in which we can specify a remote DB server information.
    Regards,
    Amit Misra

  • Dynamic invoking web service via uddi regitry server

    Hi,
    I need to call the web service dynamically after searching from the UDDI Registry Server. pls give me some reply that how to call the web service dynamic.
    Thnx in Advance.
    [email protected]

    Hi,
    Try using the udditest.sap.com   it is the Test Registry provided.
    Configuring the UDDI Client and UDDI Server    ::::
    To use the UDDI client for publishing, updating, or discovering business services and tModels, first you have to administer the UDDI client as well as the UDDI server using the J2EE Engine Visual Administrator.
    Procedure
           1.      Select Web Services Container ® Runtime ® UDDI Client.
           2.      From the Available Registries list, select a UDDI registry.
                                a.      To enter a different Inquiry URL and Publish URL, choose Edit Registry and enter new locations.
    Make sure that the URLs contain a  value. If they do not, then add the port value manually (for example, localhost:50000).
                                b.      To add a registry to the Available Registries list, choose New Registry.
                                c.      To remove a registry from the list, choose Remove Registry.
           3.      On the UDDI Server tab page, choose New User and enter the corresponding data. For more information, see Managing the UDDI Server in the Administration Manual.
    Using the Visual Administrator, you can create users for а local test registry only.
    Create the User here for the test registry used.
    regards

    I have seen this problem before if Daemon Manager (or rather Tomcat) is started too soon after it is stopped.  In that case, the TCP sockets responsible for internal communication have not be relinquished, and thus this error occurs.
    However, in your case, DCRServer is up.  Therefore, I suspect you may be seeing CSCtd07131 which can affect multi-CPU Windows machines.  I recommend you open a service request with TAC to obtain the patch for this bug.

  • Communication problem between NetBeans and Tomcat

    hi!
    i got a quite mysterious problem. here is what happens:
    - i start NetBeans 5.5.1 (the first time)
    - i want to debug my JSF-Project, the Debugger starts
    - After a few seconds the debugger waits for tomcat (it sais: "Waiting for Tomcat...") and tomcat starts
    - Again after a few seconds the tomcat-debugger-output sais "Tomcat startet in 3333 ms".
    okay.
    when i enter http://localhost:8084/ in my browser i get the tomcat homepage, so the server has definitely started! But nothing happens in NetBeans and nothing happens with my project....
    In the lower-right corner i see this blue working-bar that sais "deploying project" but nothing happens. The Project-Debugger-Output still sais "Waiting for Tomcat..." but nothing happens...
    And after something around 3 minutes (i guess it's a timeout) i get the error "Starting of Tomcat failed." But is HAS started, i can login to the Administration-Area in my browser!
    so i guess there is a communication problem between netbeans an tomcat. Netbeans waits for a message from tomcat but tomcat doesn't send it..or netbeans doesn't understand it.
    But the story goes on:
    When i press the debug-button a second time it takes only a few seconds till i get the message: "Tomcat server port 8084 already in use". OF COURSE! Because Tomcat has already startet and can't be stoped by NetBeans.
    i'm trying to solve this problem for 4 days now, so i would be very happy if anyone has an idea where to start/continue the search...
    thanks,
    flo.

  • Installation requires too many services to stop

    I'm trying to install the Developer Tools for Visual Studio .Net and the installer is requiring over 30 core windows services to be shutdown. This includes but is not limied to:
    Computer Browser, Logical Disk Manager, Remote Registry, Server, Workstation, etc..
    There's no possible way to shutdown these services and have Windows available. There must be some other issue.
    Config: Dell D800 Laptop, XP Pro, 1GB Ram, 9.2.0.6 Database installed (with 10g installer) in c:\oracle\ora92. I'm tyring to install into that oracle_home.
    A word document with a screen shot of error message is attached.

    Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio .NET (ODT) install includes Oracle Client 10g in its installation. If you install ODT into your oracle 92x home, you are going to have both oracle 10g and oracle 92x binaries in the same oracle home.
    This is not a supported configuration.
    I would suggest one of the following:
    1. installing ODT into its own Oracle Home
    or
    2.create a 10g oracle home with a database in it and install ODT into this oracle home
