Registry setting drivers missing

A couple of days ago I turned on my computer and clicked on the iTunes icon. This popped up:
The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software.
Only, I haven't downloaded any programs recently, and none of them are CD burning software. Once I hit the x at the top right corner or OK at the bottom of the window, iTunes pops up and I can listen to music - I just can't import anything or create CDs.
How do I reinstall the drivers? I've looked all OVER Apple's site and support finding nothing about this, and I couldn't figure out how to write to them about this problem.
If I have to delete iTunes and reinstall it, will I have to redo the playlists and folders, or will they come back up?
Thanks for the help!

I have the same issue as TS1436 & saw your reply/solution above... I'm your average non-tech casual ITunes user, so the # of issues re: uninstall/reinstall & problems this so often creates looks more than a little frustrating. I've already had to uninstall ITunes once for a different issue; after reading the doc you reference, it appears that was possibly the cause of the PC then not recognizing the CD/DVD drive, meaning I had to reload those drivers, which led to the current problem with ITunes & now another uninstall/reinstall. Seems new software shouldn't be this hard or time-consuming. OK, no more complaining, sorry...
I have 2 questions:
1)  Rather than do an uninstall/reinstall, is it easier to just skip that step and follow the doc you reference for manually installing the device filter to ITunes? (using Windows 7)
2) I have lots of space & my ITunes library is small (new PC). For the purpose of just getting through this uninstall process, can I just temporarily backup a copy of the library to another file on the hard drive (as opposed to an external drive)? I understand there's a risk if the system crashes, but that seems unlikely (i hope!)
Thanks for your help...

    A.2.3.6 FRM-92120
    Cause:
This is a server configuration error, which occurs when the client is unable to find the
file Registry.dat on the middle tier.
    Solution:
When this error occurs, check if the file Registry.dat is present on the middle tier in the
directory ORACLE_HOME/forms/java/oracle/forms/registry. If it is not
present, then it needs to be placed.
In a running Forms application, if you suddenly come across this error, there is a
possibility that the HTTP server has gone down. You may verify this by typing the
Diagnosing Server Crashes with Stack Traces
    A-8 Deployment Guide
URL http://myserver.com:NNNN in your browser. Here you need to replace
myserver.com with your host name and NNNN with your HTTP server’s port
number. If your browser says that it could not connect to the server, then your HTTP
server is down and you need to contact your system administrator to bring it up.
When the HTTP server is up and running, on giving the URL
http://myserver.com:NNNN your browser will show the “OracleAS welcome”.

    Hi,
What changes have been done recently?
Did AutoConfig complete successfully on all tiers?
If SSL has been enabled recently, please run SSL diagnostics tests and make sure all runs successfully -- Search "My Oracle Support" for "SSL Diagnostics R12".
Enable debug and see if you get more details about the error -- See (Note: 422419.1 - R12, 12.1.1 - How To Enable and Collect Debug for HTTP, OC4J and OPMN) and (Note: 438652.1 - R12: Forms Runtime Diagnostics (FRD), Tracing And Logging For Forms In Oracle Applications).

Our users were experiencing this problem. It was related to the proxy exception list that our web browsers were using.
In IE6, Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Advanced (Proxy Server Settings) > Exceptions (bottom of screen).
Ensure that these are set correctly, the browser may be trying to look out on the internet for the URL your web deployed application is running on, as it is not in your proxy exception list.
I'd be interested in knowing if this resolves the issue for you, it's worked for us.

    Hi,
I am running BPA on My Exchange 2010 VM (Server 2008 R2 VM on Hyper-V) and get the following errors:
The 'Services' string type value located in 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v14\Setup\Services' registry key is missing or inaccessible. The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service won't start. As a result, all services that depend

Exchange server [Exchange Server FQDN] is a virtual machine but the additional tools are not installed. This configuration is not supported. Install Virtual Machine Additions for this guest.
Problem is that, for the first, that Key exists and the service is actually running fine. And for the second my VM tools are already installed.
Hopefully someone out there has had the same issue and can assist.
    Pete

    Hi Pete,
For the first error message, please try the following steps:
Make sure the Information Store service is in Starting status,
Automatic startup type and works well, as a test we can try to
restart the Infroamtion Store service and verify the service works well.
    Start
Registry Editor, find the registry key “Services” under “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v14\Setup”, its value is “C:\Program
files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\v14”(default install location), please check your registry, make sure the key “Services” exist and value is the Exchange Server install location and the
    location is accessible;
    Start
Registry Editor, and locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Setup
    Use the
Permission option under the Security tab to check the permission setting on this key. Make sure
System is in the list with Full Control permissions if the service account is Local System. If you are not using Local System as the service account, check the existence of the corresponding account in the list and ensure that
it has Full Control permissions. Please refer to this article:
Title: Exchange Store Does Not Start: Errors 7024, 1026, 9542, and 5000
    Link:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/285116
    Start
ADSI Edit, and then browse to the following location:
    Domain.com/Configuration/Services/Microsoft Exchange/Org/Administrative Groups/AdminGroup/Servers/Server Name
    Right-click the
server name, and then click Properties.
    Click the
Security tab, make sure this own server’s server object have
full control permission on its own server.
If not or the object is missing, please modify the permission or click
Add, locate the computer account for the Exchange Server computer, add it to the Permissions list with full control.
Click OK, and then close ADSI Edit.
    Use
Active Directory Users and Computers to add the current affected
Exchange Server computer account to the Exchange Servers(previous version should be “Exchange Domain Servers”) group in the
Microsoft Exchange Security Groups( or Users) OU. Refer to this article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297295.
Restart the Exchange Server computer, then rerun the ExBPA.
For the second error message, Microsoft don’t recommend to install Exchange Server on virtual machine without additional tools, so the error message occurs. We can just ignore
this message, it will not affect the Exchange servers.

  • Biometric GP setting is missing from win2k8 standard FE.

Computer Confguration / Policies / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Biometrics / Allow
    Registry is also missing.

I would like to allow biometric authentication to domain users via group policy.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Vishal

    Hi,
Based on your description, I guess that you didn’t store the Group Policy Administrative Template files in the Central Store. So, please locate to
C:\Windows folder and check if you can find PolicyDefinitions
    folder.
Meanwhile, please understand that those settings of Biometrics group policy are supported on at least Windows Server R2 or Windows 7.
    So, please download the
Administrative Templates (ADMX) for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 and install it in a new folder. And copy
Biometrics.admx file from the new folder, then paste to
C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions. Copy Biometrics.adml file from the new folder (please select language folder correctly. If you use English edition, choose it from
en-us subfolder), then paste to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\correct language folder
    (such as en-us).
Then re-start Group Policy Management Editor and check if you can find those Biometrics setting.
If this issue still exists or anything I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
    Hope this helps.

The URL doesn't seem correct: http://domain.com/form60java/oracle/forms/registry/Registry.dat
I'm expecting a slash (/) between forms60 and java. Have a look in the formsweb.cfg if any paths are misconfigured.
Also, try if the URL with the slash:
    http://domain.com/form60/java/oracle/forms/registry/Registry.dat
does work when you just paste it in a browser. It should download the Registry.dat file

To Adobe Support and Others who might know this answer.
What is the Windows Registry Setting a admin could set on a system in order to prevent Adobe products such as Flash, from installing sponsored product applications from installing?
In this case it is  McAfee Security Scan Plus.  However, I also desire to prevent other sponsored apps in the future from being installed during an Adobe product update.  This is a PIA for an admin to follow up on removing an an application from  field systems after was was intended to be an Adobe spcifc product update.
Oracle's JAVA already have a method to disable spnsored installs.  I would like to see the same from Adobe,
Yes I already know to tell people to disable checkboxes for addtional products.
Yes I already know about the direct product dowload links for Flash, etc.

I'm unaware of any such registry mod.
