We are up grading from version 4.7 to ECC 6.0 .In this case we have to do regression test . May i know what are the topics should be tested .Could you give me a brief explanation including the transaction codes.

Doing a process oriented testing will be the right apprach.. i.e. Procure to Pay, Order to cash, Manufacturing scenario and month end process of variances, WIP and settlement, payments, With holding tax filings, excise returns, executing your key reports, etc
This way you can be more than sure that the up-gradation is doing its job

1573 is my company code as well as my controlling area
This is happening in my sandbox server from to day morning only as it looks like somebody has tampered the settings which doesnot allowing me to create a sales order itself to do any testing
I am totally handicapped and without solving this error i will not be able to proceed at all
This error has come for the first time whilre creating the sales order

Please go to OKKP and see the validity period of controlling area FROM year to TO year.
OKKP
Select controlling area
Double click
Activate components/control indicators.
I believe somebody must have deleted the year.
You need to enter the control indicators FROM year to TO year.
Please let me know if you still have issues.

Compounding Controlling areas and Cost Centers

Hi,
We have only one Controlling area value, say ZC11. I am looking at an InfoObject Master Data table for an InfoObject, and it seems that there are no differences in the records with the Controlling area and Cost Centers with those of blank Controlling areas and Cost Centers.
Is it necesary to define the compounded InfoObject of the Controlling Area to the Cost Centers in this case? I understand that compounding is for use if there are many different Controlling Areas for the same Cost Centers.
What would be the best approach on this?

Hi Bhanu,
May I ask what would be the core change of the SAP InfoObject? I would think that modeling wise, it would be beneficial to not compound if there was just one Controlling area.
I am actually uploading data and I am getting an error that lists the error "value Cost Center/Controlling Area/ Company code is not permitted for characteristics Company Code". I am sending only the value Cost Center but somehow it is looking for the Controlling Area. Should I be sending both the Controlling area and its correspdoning Cost Center?

You forgot to maintain control indicators for the controlling area. Go to OKKP transaction, select the controlling area and maintain the indicators...

Go to OKKP Transaction code.
Select your controlling area and double click on activate componentes/control indicators (Left side).
Now, maintain Fiscal year... and Activate cost centers etc., and save the data.

GOTO t-code OKKP and check whether u have selected particular controller indicator like cost center accounting, activity,Profit center , Profitability analysis. Select from this indicator which you required.

How to change standard PCA hierarchy for Controlling Area?

I'd like to change standard PCA hierarchy for Controlling Area. System doesn't allow me to do this with the following message:

You wish to change the standard hierarchy of a controlling area, however, profit centers have already been assigned to the hierarchy. For this reason, you may not change the standard hierarchy for this controlling area.

How can I change it?

I will clarify the business requirements behind this request.
We are currently implementing PCA for a customer. However, technically, PCA was already switched on several years ago and it was used for some not-really-accounting customer functionalities (Z* reports) .
So, currently the PCA hierarchy is total mess. No logical heirarchy, a lot of weird profit centers... Not posibly to use this for segment reporting at all. And I would like to sort this out for this project.
Is it possible to reorganize current standard hierarchy? Remove profit centers and profit center groups out of there? Forbid postings?

profit center is locked for controlling area. Like this error is comning while doing MIRO, excise invoice. Please let me know the solution. Profit center mentioned in material master is different.

This profit center is locked in its master under Indicators tab. Use transaction KE52 to unlock it if you want.
Your concern to Profit Center being picked up is different then Material Master then use transaction OBBH and notice the substitution assigned to your compay code for call up point 2. Then use transaction GGB1 and check any profit center derivation is done.

If you are practising your own , Please check the following settings
1. SPRO-> Controlling ->General controlling --> Organization -> Maintain controlling area
Please select Maintain controlling area in the pop up screen, and Select your company code controlling area, and click on Activate Components/Control indicators on left side.Or <b>simple type Tcode :OKKP</b>
Go to new entries and give the financial year 2007 and select Other control indicator as per requirement.

Please try the following.
T.code: OKKP, select controlling area 0002 and choose details. There in field "CCtr Std. Hierarchy", some input should be maintained. If that field is blank, then input the value as " STD-HIER" and save it.
Now select the same controlling area(0002) and double click on "Activate components/cost indicators" tab. Select " New entries" and input fiscal year 2007. In the same screen, under activatecomponents, select " 1 component activate" for "cost centers, order management, profit analysis and Acty-based costing".
Also tick the check boxes of " Profit center aactg, projects, sales orders, cost objects".
Under other indicators, tick the check box " All currencies" and save it.
Now try your requirement. I hope that error should not come this time.
