    Hi,
Yes You can assign a material to exactly one division.we had a situation where the same material in different company code was maintained in different division, This created a havoc the users used to change the divisions occasionally because the Price / Reports will go wrong. Finally at the year end we decided to create a new material itself.
See the link hope will help you understand...

  • Relationship between material type and industry sector

    Hi experts
when using t-code mm01,there are two fields material type and industry setor in screen. Is there any relationship between material type and industry sector? I want to know if user be able to see the material type related to particular industry sector?
    thanks in advance!

    Hello
There is no direct relationship between the material type and the industry sector.
The industry sector is used only for field sttus maintenance (fields in display/optional/requierd entry) in transactions.
We will assign seperate field reference groups to industry sectors and deopending on how we configure the field references, the fields will appear for the materials created for that industry sector.

  • Extending DataFinder to include Non-Data Entries and Relationships Between Entries

I am trying to create custom data centralization and management software for our lab with DataFinder Toolkit.  In addition to storing data from data acquisitions, I want to be able to store additional information with the data such as images, pdf files, word documents that can be easily accessed after finding the data.  My current idea is to handle external files by storing the filepath in a property of an object vs trying to store the data itself in the datafinder database.  My code would know how to open these files so the user can see them with external software or a custom labview app.
I also want to be able to store non-data objects such as an object that describes a piece of test equipment or a sample through properties and external files.  Images and documents are again important here.  And then create relationships through unique barcoded IDs that are a property in the datafinder entry.  So not only could I look at the data, I could find information about the samples and lab equipment. Or anything else we think needs to be saved.
The code I am writing around DataFinder would be in charge of maintaining the unique IDs and know how the relationships between those IDs work to generate the proper queries. Like a 'Get Test Equipment Used' button next to a search result.
For the external non-data objects I was going to use Labview code to create a file with all the information about the object (unique ID, properties and external file paths) and create a plug-in so the datafinder will index the file and make it searchable.
Does this seem reasonable? I like the idea of working with one system and having everything update based on adding, deleting and modifying files in a folder. Also, I like the idea of not splitting the data management up into multiple technologies and having to make those work together.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

From the description, you've given the system seems plausible. The non-data elements you discussed when broken down are just additional data to associate with an object.  Storing file paths seems plausible as done in the community example below:

  • Relationship between SAP R/3 and XI

    Hi
I have a question. What kindoff relationship exists between an R/3 system and XI system. Is it 1:1 or 1:many.
Lets say i have a requirement where i have one r/3 system and 3 EAI system. I want to generate an idoc or rfc from a single r/3 which has to go through all the 3 EAI systems. Is it possible. If so how do i achieve it.
If not why is it so.
I was having a debate on this with my colleague at my work-place and i would like to hear from you all as to what your opinion is about this.
    regards
    Sameer

    Hi Sameer,
it is no problem to implement an n:m relationship between systems. For example, you can have one R/3 sending an material master IDoc, configure in the receiver determination that this IDoc should go to 3 different receivers, than define for each receiver the interface as expected by the receiver (of course you will have to implement the payload mappings) and than choose three different adapters for sending the messages.

  • Where to find the information regarding relationships between the tables?

I am developing a Windows based app which among other things let’s users view SAP table schema and relationships.
If I use SAP GUI and dig up a bit on say the MARA table I can see that
Material Master (MARA) is related with
    1) MaterialDescription (MAKT) on columns MANDT and MATNR
    2) MaterialPlantData (MARC) on columns MANDT and MATNR
    and so on…
My question is - in which table the information regarding relationships between the tables is stored? There must be a data dictionary table which would be storing the relationships data. Which is it? Note: I will programatically access the table, NOT from the UI.

    Thanks a lot...
I am still working on it, but here are the current findings. DD05S, DD08L and DD08T: The schemas for these tables were very promising for the thing I was looking for. Unfortunately the data within dose not seem to serve my exact purpose.
I found another one DD26S, which has almost 90% of the relationships I wish to explore. Do you know what is it supposed to contain?
Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Difference/relationship between XML and XSD

    Hi All,
Correct me if i am wrong,
When we create a source and a target datatype in IR automatically objects will be created in XSD.
The same way it does when we create message type.
In message mapping, We map source and target message type and when we test with sample data, we can view source and target in xml
My question is what is the difference/relationship between XML and XSD ?
    Thanks,
    ss

    Hi,
XML (Extensible Markup Language) is a W3C initiative that allows information and services to be encoded with meaningful structure and semantics that computers and humans can understand. XML is great for information exchange, and can easily be extended to include user-specified and industry-specified tags.
    Whereas
An XML Schema Definition (XSD) is an instance of an XML schema written in the XML Schema language. An XSD defines a type of XML document in terms of constraints upon what elements and attributes may appear, their relationship to each other, what types of data may be in them, and other things. It can be used with validation software in order to ascertain whether a particular XML document is of that type, and to produce a Post-Schema Validation Infoset.
    I hope this clarifies.

  • Relationship between tables in a module(urgent)

    Hi ,
    Am new to this domain(SAP)...
I want to move datas to SAP through codes...
For example,i want to add datas to ItemGroups module of Inventory module....But it failed...On the other hand,i was able to add datas to Item table of the same module...
i think there is someother table to which ItemGroups is related..Could anyone kindly help me in finding out these type of relationship between tables in a moduel at ease?
    Hoping for your quick reply,
    Thanks

    hi
I think in your scnario data is fetching from material valuation table based on material number (MBEW-MATNR), through document segment material table (MSEG-MATNR).
Based on you company material management flow, your scenario is based.
    hope this helps
    thank you.

  • Relationship between coherence and NIC teaming

    Hi,
We are using Tangosol coherence for clustering purpose in our product Webmethods Integration server.
When our server starts up it tries to jojn tne cluster.
    Our scenario is this :-
We have 2 servers running on 2 separate boxes A&B.
They are on same network segment.
Multicast test is working properly .
The issue is only one of the nodes(which is started first) in becoming the part of the cluster and other one remain disabled.
We found out that the NIC teaming was disabled in the boxes.
When we enabled NIC teaming with smart load balancing then both the nodes are able to join the cluster.
    My specific question is,
Is there any relationship between Tangosol coherence and NIC teaming? If yes, what's the relationship.
    Regards,
    Ritwik Bhattacharyya

I did some tinkering a while back trying to get 4Gb/s bonded etherchannels going on linux boxes but I had issues with out of order and missing packets:
4Gb/s bonded ethernet test results - finally...
But to answer your question there is no reason that you would need NIC teaming on in order to make Coherence work. It sounds like something is not configured correctly with your NIC or switch. Maybe try connecting the machines with a crossover cable instead of a switch just to eliminate the switch as a possible problem. It sounds like maybe you're just using the wrong ethernet port on a server or something.

  • Relationship between WebDynproContext and Interactive Form (WebDynpro ABAP)

    Hi,
I created a WebDynpro application including an interactive form. The context of the view contains a node 'Employeeinfo' with a further node 'Employeerecords' and a Attribute pdfSource. The node Employeerecords contains 2 Attributes: Employeename and Position.
    the structure looks like this:
    <i>CONTEXT
    ___Employeeinfo (node)
    ______Employeerecords (node)
    _________Employeename (attribute)
    _________Position (attribute)
    ______pdfSource (attribute)</i>
Employeerecords should be used as a table with the columns Empl.-name and Position. The Content of this table is filled by a Supply-Method.
I bound the properties of the interactive form like this:
    <i>pdfSource-> pdfSource
    datasource-> Employeerecords</i>
The Interface of the interactive Form is XML created by Context of the webDynpro Component.
When I start the application it is showing me an empty form allthough the Content was created correct by the Supply-Method ( I tested this with a WebDynproTable element in the same View). The table seems to be there ( I check this with a seperate color) but the Rows are not created.
It seems to me that there would be no relationship between the WD-Context and the Interactive Form.
Do you think it is a design mistake or a software problem?
<u>I work with the following software components:</u>
    <i>AdobeLifeCycleDesigner 7.1
    Adobe Reader 7.0.9
    SAP NW 04s
    SAP GUI 6.4

  • Relationship between db_flashback_retention_target and fast_recovery_area

    Hi to all
I was doing a test on Flashback Database on my Oracle 11gR2 and I would like to seek clarifications on the relationship between db_flashback_retention_target and fast_recovery_area. Here are my current settings below:
    SQL> show parameter db_flashback_retention
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    db_flashback_retention_target integer 60
    SQL> show parameter recovery_file_dest
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    db_recovery_file_dest string L:\app\amosleeyp\fast_recovery
    _area
    db_recovery_file_dest_size big integer 20G
Here come the question. I know that the db_flashback_retention_target parameter specifies the upper limit (in minutes) on how far back in time the database may be flashed back. I did a testing and below is the sequence of events.
    DELETE FROM SCOTT.EMP WHERE ename = 'KING'; -- *12:13pm*
    FLASHBACK DATABASE TO TIME = "TO_DATE('2013-03-25 12:12:00','YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS')"; -- *1:30pm*
    Select count(*) from SCOTT.EMP where ename='KING'; -- *1:31pm*
    COUNT(*)
    1
From this simple test, I was able to flashback database to more than 60minutes ago despite my retention window being set at 60minutes. Is this due to the reason that I have a huge db_recovery_file_dest_size of 20G? Thus, I am able to go back in time for more than 60minutes? Thanks for the sharing.

    Hi,
So do you mean that the retention target can be at about 59,60,61minutes or more depending on the fast_recovery_area space? So it actually fluctuates ~ ?No it does not fluctuate. fast_recovery_area is just a storage area for multipurpose use for backup, backup copy, archived redo logs and flashback logs etc, so don't confuse it with flashback retention.
flashback retention time is the time which Oracle will always ensure you the flashback of database. If set to 60 minutes, it means you will certainly be able to flashback your database atleast 60 minutes.
If your fast recovery area is free, Oracle will not delete flashback logs (and you might be able to flashback to even several days if flashback logs have not been deleted from fast recovery area). It will only delete flashback logs if fast recovery area has small space left in it.
Only when I set the guaranteed restore points , then it will always store at 60 minutes?See following for this concept

  • Testing of Material

    Dear experts,
what is the proces for testing the material supplied by a new vendor ? If quality view of that material is activated, then will procurement be only possible if we have quality info record ? But quality info record should only be made after tesing, but how can we do testing as long as we do not get the material procured inside the plant? Please suggest.....
    Regards,
    Sunit

    Dear Sunil
In one of my project , the process is mapped like this
    1) A notification will be triggered from the purchase dept to the techincal dept when a new vendor or material is to be purchased. A notification type was created especialy for this
    2) the control key is made mandatory and 0009 is used. The reason for maintaining is the need for quality info record for the procurement
    3) Technical dept will decide whether to go forward , if yes they will create the quality info record, with status relationship vendor approval.
The status profile for the procuremnt  can be created in
SPRO > QM > QM in Logistics > Define Status of Supply Relationships > QM_P_001 > I have maintained the following settins
    1) Pilot 2) bulk1 3) bulk2 3) bulk3 4) production
    4) Quantity is also controlled by using the quantity field in Quality info record so that the order quantity is controlled
    5) when the material comes for inspection the first status will be pilot. once it is tested and UD is given as Ok the status get updated automaticaly. At any time you can manually switch from one status to another
    Hope this gives some idea

  • Relationship between operation

    Hi all,
Is it possible to process the operation with sequence(including goods movements) . In my order it has 4 operations, i have to process the operations with sequence, that means second operation will process after confirming the first operation likewise we should restrict the material movement of the same. Is it possible with "relationship"?. If possible please guide me the procedure.
    Thanks and regards,
    G.Sathish

You can actually define relationships between operations and it also reflects in the scheduling for the order but about the goods movement part, well what you could do is that each item in the reservation has a reservation number +item number attached to it so you can ask your store manager to issue the material per item number i.e. individually and for that you need a separate shop paper for each of your operation including components. Now about the confirmation part, confirm using individual confirmation, you can use the user exit CONFPM05 to check whether the previous operation was confirmed or not, if it is not confirmed, you can pop up an error message.
