Reload a form

Question

First off, I'm not a forms developer. I've done minimal stuff in this technology and I usually work with Db, Performance, and PL*SQL.
We have an application in 10g that runs in a htmlpage which instanciates java in order to show the form. This instanciation takes some time when invoked. The current solution is to instanciate the window every time a new customer has to be shown. The new customer is found in a different app and then an url to instanciate this window is sent to the browser.
To solve the problem with the time it takes, I was thinking of picking up the data needed from somewhere else than the html header. To se if this would work as intended, I would like to be able to have a button that fires a call that causes the for to reinitialize itself (or reload or whatever the proper terminology would be).
Is there such an API available in forms? Just intialize the form again so all data is brought in fresh without causing all objects needed to be recreated. With object I mean the whole Java part as well as different objects and triggers etc that are part of the forms application.
Does this make any sense at all or am I asking about things that just aren't done with forms?

I think you are solving something much more complicated than the issue I have. All I want is to be able to through a button cause the form to do the same processing it did when first opened. Run the same queries, do the same intializations, place the user on the same tab and so on. Just a pure reintialization of the session just as if the form was reloaded.
How to get the data the reintialized form will work from is a different topic and something I think weäll have a much easier time with and we already know of a few options there.
And yes I have acess to the fmb and can change the code there to anything needed and to add this reintilize button. I just need some api call to make the form run the same initialization it does when it gets loaded.
