Reload webserver java classes

Hi all,
I am having trouble with my web server
configuration. Specifically, I have a webapplication
set up on a clustered system and rely on the .reload
file within the document root to prompt the system
to refresh it's Class cache. However, somehow,
the system won't update classes even though I update
the timestamp on .reload.
Any suggestion as to what I am doing incorrectly?
I even went so far as to delete all servlets from the
directory, to which I mounted my webapplication. Indeed,
the system will give file not found errors for all JSPs and HTMLs,
but it will still load the servlets.
1) Any suggestions?
2) Where are the cached classes kept? Could I go there and delete these to prompt reloading on the webapplication?
Note: Due to our setup with the cluster and cluster management software, we cannot use the "dynamically reload configuration files" button within the web server admin tool. This is why we rely on the .reload file.
I have experienced on other systems, that the default installation of the web server (6.1) will accept the .reload file and reload the webapplication if the .reload timestamp is updated. Could there be other settings that need to be made so that .reload works?

As documented in the Programmer's Guide to Web Applications and in the Administrator's Configuration File Reference, support for .reload is controlled by the dynamicreloadinterval attribute in server.xml. Perhaps you have configured dynamicreloadinterval in some instances but not others?

All classes that will be serialized or deserialized must be non-interface, non-abstract
classes that provide a public default constructor
I have no clue,Why is Servicegen introspecting the third party class file also?I
just need the public methods in Test.java exposed and Test.java will just use
the third party library.
also,is there a way to tell servicegen to include all these java files X,Y,Z to
the war file/ear files but expose only the public methods of X in the WSDL.

Thanks very much for the insight u provided.Yes one of my public methods was returning
a element factory.
But let me ask my question this way:
Is there a way to tell servicegen to take only the specified public methods in
a class to make them as webservices?
by default servicegen is taking all the public methods..,i workaround i found
is to deploy the webservice manually by writing the web-services.xml to include
only the required public methods.

Concerning your last question, you can use the excludeEJBs, includeEJBs
(in combination with the ejbJar attribute) to specify which non-built-in
data type components should be generated. Or if you use the
javaClassComponents then simply use a comma separated list of class
names.

Auto-deployment of java classes in Weblogic 9 is not working

I have an exploded ear in my autodeploy folder and I am updating some of the java classes inside it. But it looks like weblogic 9 is not reloading new version of them. Did anybody had any success with the similar setup?
And yes, I am updating timestamp for my REDEPLOY file and -Dweblogic.ProductionModeEnabled=false

I think it is missing - you need to do the import on your own. I filed an ER to get this one added.
Note however that the best practice would be to minimize the usage of scripts in your JSP - since this creates spaghetti code that mixes UI with logic and is hard to maintain.

Calling a WL Webservice using wsse from a java class

One of the business partners I am integrating with needs to call my web service
which is secured with UserTokens. The buiness partner is running in a J2EE environment,
but not BEA. They will be calling the web service using a Java Class. Do I need
to create a Java proxy for them to be able to reach my web service? Do I run the
java proxy file on my side, or do i give it to them to run? Do i need to provide
them with a client security policy file?
Any help is appricated

Hi Linda,
Currently we support only two types of tokens: UsernameToken and
BinarySecurityToken, see the docs [1] for additional details. The
policy file you are referring to is WLW specific and will not be
portable. We are working towards the (yet to be finalized) WS-Policy
framework for the next major release.

InterMedia Java Classes for Servlets and JSPs and Netscape

I am using the interMedia Java Classes for Servlets and JSPs to upload and retrieve multimedia data. I have found that it is much more performant in Internet Explorer (5.5) than in Netscape Communicator (4.7). In fact, I cannot upload images larger than 10K at all using netscape. However, the same image can be uploaded into the same application using IE. Is this a known issue?

We have successfully uploaded multimedia data in the giga-byte range (Quicktime and AVI files) at the same speed with both the Netscape (4.7n) and MS IE (4.n and 5.n) browsers. One thing we have noticed is that its very important to set the manual proxy settings correctly if you have an environment with a proxy server. If you don't, then uploads can go via the proxy server and, for some reason, that seems to take considerably longer. For example, suppose you are in the www.xyzco.com domain and are connecting to a host named webserver.www.xyzco.com, then specify webserver and webserver.www.xyzco.com (to cover both cases) in the "Do not use proxy servers for..." box in the manual proxy server configuration screen. Also, if you're using a tool such as JDeveloper that uses the host IP address in the debugger environment, then you also need to add the numeric-based (nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn) IP address to this list.

Securing Web Services based on simple Java Classes

Hi @all!
We`ve got the following problem.
There`s a .NET client calling our Web services deployed on Bea Weblogic 8.1 (without
SP).
The Web Services are generated by the ANT task servicegen. They are based on simple
Java classes containing the service methods as public members.
Is there a possibility to secure these methods without using the console menu
item "Define Security Policy" ?
We can`t use this menu because it has got a javascript bug with methods returning
an array.

I'm not sure what limitation you are experiencing with the console? Is
there a traceback? Have you contacted customer support on this issue?

What alternative could there be?
You're calling a webserver which just happens to be running a Java process to generate its output.
You don't have to know that, that's the whole point in using servlets...
So no, there's no way (and if there is it's a terrible breach in the security of your server).

The important thing is the element <load-on-startup>0</load-on-startup>. This tells the webserver to load this servlet first. A lower number is loades before a higher so if you have a servlet that you want to load but you need the configuration to be done first, that servlet definition should read <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>.
Of course, you can do anything you want in the init-method. This is just one way of doing it.

Calling another java class from a servlet

I am trying to write a web based form handling system (for a college project)
I have a servlet that responds to a user request for a form. I have another java program (HTMOut) that parses the xml file for the form and produces HTML output. When I call the HTMOut from the servlet it crashes the webserver (Tomcat). But if I call HTMOut from an ordinary java class it runs fine. If I call another test program from my servlet that works too.
Any ideas?

where does your HTMOut output? A file or a stream? I think it is better that HTMOut can output to a stream you can set externally.

Performance Analysis: java classes run fast, but http response is delayed

I´m analysing a performance issue on our application and I have the following symptons:
- A profile analysis with YourKit Java Profiler 7.5 told us that our java classes are running "fast" ( mostly less than 10s ).
- The access_log of the Oracle HTTP Server (httpd.conf LogFormat %T parameter) show us that the time taken to process the entire request is 130s
- The users told us that the application runs fast for a while, but after some minutes, the entire application runs slowly. After some minutes again, the entire application runs fast again.
- There are no overload of CPU, MEM, IO, Networking. All have been checked and are ok.
- At the same time the application A runs slowly, the application B on the same server ( but another instance ) runs normally.
- There is no database botleneck. All the application queries have been profiled and optimized for best run.
- A huge number of application threads exists on the java virtual machine. The peak was 187 threads ( mostly sleeping. Just one or two were running ). The threads average in the vm is 150.
- Our application has few EJB ( 4 ), few ejb-calls. All the EJB calls are cached with EhCache. The cache timeout is 2hours. When time-out occurs, the cache is invalidated, cleared and reloaded.
- We have only 10 users.
My hypothesis are:
1. Application server thread blocking. Some threads take until 13 minutes to finish, even when the java processing took only 23 seconds.
2. Some problem with the size of the AJP packages between HTTPServer and Application server.
I´m really desperate for help. Any help will be widely appreciated.

Oh just noticed you are on 9.0.3.3 -- that is a very, very, very* old release. I don't think we had a tunable thread-pool back then. The oldest doc I can find is for 10.1.2, which I think is where we first introduced the thread-pool manager:

XSLT Mapping with Java class not working in Integration Repository

Hi,
I have an XSLT mapping program with Java enhancement and I was able to successfully tested it in Stylus Studio. However, when I imported the Java class and the xslt program in Enterprise Service Builder and tested it, my program does not compile.
Here is the error message: "Transformer Configuration Exception occurred when loading XSLT mapping_temp.xsl; details: Could not compile stylesheet".
My java program is in a zip file containing SOAPHeaderHandler.java and SOAPHeaderhandler.class. My Java has a package com.nga.xslt.
Here is the declaration of my Java class in the XSLT: xmlns:javamap="java:com.nga.xslt.SOAPHeaderHandler"
It seems that it could not read the java class. Can you please advice what is wrong?

select XMLTOOLKIT option in Operation mapping and execute it.
I am not sure we can call java program in XSLT Program,but alternative is copy the code and use it in XSLT mapping it self,that means your XSLT program will become with JAVA extensions.
then in Operation mapping level select SAPXMLTOOL kit option and execute it. i hope it will work. if it is not working then you have deploy some JAXP files on server,because the way execution of XSLT Mpaping program got changed,like when eve you executing XSLT with extnasions( if you are not using XMLTOOL kit option) then you have to use latest version of JAXP.JDK files.

How to call a PL/SQL procedure from a Java class?

Hi,
I am new to the E-BusinessSuite and I want to develop a Portal with Java Portlets which display and write data from some E-Business databases (e.g. Customer Relationship Management or Human Resource). These data have been defined in the TCA (Trading Community Architecture) data model. I can access this data with PL/SQL API's. The next problem is how to get the data in the Java class. So, how do you call a PL/SQL procedure from a Java program?
Can anyone let me know how to solve that problem?
