Reminder Alerts from Database
Hi,
I'm just trying to get some ideas together for an application that looks through a database and can alert a user via email when the date is getting near a prefigured length of time.
I am undecided whether the best place for this would be in a SQL job or through Powershell via a scheduled task. I'd like to add some nice bits to include flags as the date gets nearer plus different mailing lists etc...
Any recomendations\reading material?

If you want to schedule the time of email and send different email to different people at specific time, please check the cmdlets below:
1. sending email:Send-MailMessage
2. schedule task in powershell:
You can save the script to .ps1 file, and schedule the .ps1 file with the script below:
$Time = New-ScheduledTaskTrigger -Daily -At "06:00"
$action = New-ScheduledTaskAction -Execute "powershell.exe" -argument "C:\MyScript.ps1"

</html>i think normally u will get data from databsae as objects.they are like java beans having getter and setter methods.so you create a collection of those objects like collect all the objects coming from database into an arraylist or....
suppose you want to populate the dropdown box with say "username" from database object s, your code will look like that

If you is Unable to Drop Undo tablespace Since Undo Segment is in Needs Recovery
You can Upload the following trace file while opening the ticket
SQL>Alter session set tracefile_identifier='corrupt';
SQL>Alter system dump undo header "<new of undo segment in recover status>";
Go to udump
ls -lrt *corrupt*
Upload this trace file

Madesh.R.MYou are correct, the On-Error trigger is a Forms trigger. However, if your Form is going to display the error generated by the database stored procedure or trigger - you might not see the database error in your Form unless you check the DBMS_ERROR_CODE in the On-Error trigger and manually display the Error Code and associated Text. I've see this happen with a co-worker. The Form she was working on was based on a table with an Before-Insert trigger. Because she was not explicitely handling the error from the Before-Insert trigger in the Forms On-Error trigger, her Form appeared to halt for no reason at all. Once she added code to the On-Error trigger in the Form to handle the DBMS_ERROR_CODE, she discovered the trigger was producing an error and was able to show the error to the user in the On-Error trigger.
I understand the desire to keep as much as possbile in the database, but with that comes some extra coding in your Forms to handle this. This extra coding could easily be placed in a Forms Library, attached to a Form and called in the On-Error trigger. Your code could look like this:

The answer is you don't because Forms already gets the database error code and database message through the Forms DBMS_ERROR_CODE and DBMS_ERROR_TEXT functions. Look these up in the Forms help and it should clear things up for you.

CallResponder|Datagrid|delete item from Database
Hello guys,
I succeeded to display datas from database inside the DataGrid using the CallResponder, but until now I still don't know how can I access to the data that already stored in column in the DataGrid !
the DataGrid Structure is (id, login, password, email, firstname, lastname), and want to access to those datas using the action script
My question, what is the object that already stored these datasin memory? is it "dataProvider", or "data".
When I want to delete a person from the dataGrid, I want to click on the dataGrid and then click the delete button, the button will seek for the "id" stored in the memory and finaly send the query to the server to delete the item token from the data Grid !
example :
I click on the second item in the DataGrid, and this item it's id = "14" so dataGrid.selectedIndex == 2, but the value of the attribute of that item is 14
how can I access to to the values ?
I face this problem because I don't know where the dataGrid does already stores the data that it displays, and what is the structure of it even it is ArrayList or ArrayCollection.
I hope you understood my challenge?Thank you a lot, that is correct, I executed the application in debug mode and I saw that the dataProvider is already an ArrayCollection, so I can understand that all the method of an Arraycollection is already applyable to the dataProvider.
I didn't know that it is the case, so before you reply me, I was thinking about doing that manually, by pushing the result that come from the CallResponder into an ArrayCollection that is already declared manually in the mxml file, after that adding an event listener and calling a function that is going to make a loop and store all the result into a the ArrayCollection.
Here is the code: (I think it is useful if someone is going to select something manually from the database so he has to do the same thing and filtring the results inthe loop)

try to make use of xmlHttp Object and generate a new dependent drop down by using a property from a bean->servlet->VIEW(FORM)
else save the form state in a session and then refersh it. once all in again.

How do I make alerts from various apps repeat?, How do I make alerts from various apps repeat?
On my Palm Pre, it was easy to get alerts from appointment reminders and other apps to repeat if you miss the initial audible notification alert. Unfortunately, with iOS, there seems to be no way to get the alerts to repeat. So, for example, if I have my phone on the charger and miss an appointment reminder, I will not know that I missed it. But if the alert could be programmed to repeat until I acknowledge it, then I wouldn't miss it.
It would also be useful to be notified by repeating audible alert missed Skype calls, missed Voxer communiqués, etc.

I have a table in database that has files uploaded from front-end like XLS, DOC, PDF,TXt etc.
I need to create a report that shows the filename as hyperlink and when user clicks the link, it should open the attachment in Excel if .XLS, Adobe if .PDF ..
Ex: Filename
Test.xls
plan.Pdf
roadmap.doc
Where all entries under "Filename" column is hyperlink and when user clicks hyperlink, it opens the appropriate document
Can we get this done in BI Publisher out of the box or do we need any custom code?

in my humble opinion it's not good solution
why in table? why not use bfile?
if you want select blob from your table you must always download it to some directory on server in sql/plsql way
or if you use, as example, c#client then you can download it as byte stream to client side
if you use bfile then your file stored on some server directory and you can work with by ftp, http as for ebs sample
so in this case you can't have problem with attachment, you can use url+filename in your report

Getting data in a combobox from database
I have done database connectivity in flex using .net. Now I am getting data in flex in a data grid. Everuthing is working fine if I take data in a data grid.
My problem is that if I try to take that data in any other control, other than data grid, it shows up no data, it only shows "object[object].
for ex:
if I am getting 3 rows from databse and I try to get those in a combo box, den I am getting 3 items in combo box like this:
object[object]
object[object]
object[object]
instead of actual data.
I am stuck in this problem for last 3 days. I have tried lot of things but nuthing is working. Plz anyone help me out soon. Its really urgent.

You need to tell your combobox which value should be displayed in the ComboBox...for display...
You are getting 3 rows from database which are objects since you haven't told your combobox which value to be displayed it is displaying as [Object,Object]...
So you need to tell your ComboBox which values to be displayed ..and you can do this by assigning the labelField property of the ComboBox..
Say in your object you have three properties say..data, value, name...etc;;
Then if you want display name as your ComboBox display label then simply write ....labelField="name" in your ComboBox ...
