Reminders based location not working

Can't set up a reminder based location on my iPod.This option does not appear when I make a reminder.I cam only set it up to remind me on a date and time but not on a location.PLEASE HELP.
P.S I have an iPod Touch 4g and running iOS 5.

I think it's disabled for iPod Touch and iPad because Apple want us to buy their iPhones. Shame on them.

  • Reminders App does not work on Yosemite with two iCloud accounts.

The Reminders App does not work on Yosemite (10.10.1) with two iCloud accounts. It seems like when there are two iCloud accounts connected in Yosemite (10.10.1) the plist file for Reminders disappears.
I have tried restarting Reminders; restarting the mac; starting the mac in recovery mode to repair the disk and disk permissions; and starting the mac in recovery mode and reinstalling OSX.

Yes sharing Reminders list works. The problem is, I have one shared iCloud account with a colleague (shared calendar, Reminders and email). It makes it easier to run our business with a single shared iCloud account...I know it's not the typical usage.

  • Calendar reminders (notifications) still NOT working, even after 602 update.....

So, Verizon Wireless released the 602 update to the Gingerbread OS for the Droid X, and the calendar reminder popups (notifications) are still NOT working properly.
This is VERY frustrating, as I use these notifications (reminder pop ups) for everything from business related (meetings, etc) to personal (when to take medicines, etc).
It's also VERY frustrating because BEFORE Gingerbread, when the Droid X ran Froyo, there was NOT a problem with the calendar and its reminders.
I would assume that there are MANY, MANY people being affected by this issue...and I wonder why Verizon hasn't "put the heat" on Google to FIX this issue which is clearly related to the Android OS, more specifically, Gingerbread.
I used to like the Droid X very much, but now I'm counting the days until I can get an iPhone.  At least you know what you're getting, and won't have an update "break" functions of the phone.
So, Verizon, if you're listening... PLEASE get this calendar notification problem FIXED.
    Thank you!!

I'm the original poster of this topic.  And let me tell you the steps that I went through to try to get this resolved, and then I'll let you know the ultimate solution that I wound up doing and am happy about (but am NOT happy about Verizon & Motorola).
    1) updated DroidX to latest 602 update.
    2) went into admin partition and deleted cache
    still did not work
    3) went into admin partition and did hard reset (complete restore) from inside the admin partition
Still did not get calendar reminders to work.
    4) went into normal phone and accessed "Restore Phone to Factory Specs" from the Privacy menu in settings.  This caused the phone to do a similar hard reset as in step 3, except it also ran the beginning software (welcome to your Droid, we now have to activate your phone, etc).
Calendar reminders did not work. (REMEMBER... when I say they did not work, I mean that the reminders would go off EVENTUALLY , but anywhere from 30mins AFTER the appointment to literally HOURS AFTER the appointment).
    5) Created a COMPLETELY NEW AND DIFFERENT calendar at Google under a DIFFERENT screen name/account.  Configured DroidX to completely forget the original calendar and to start using the NEW one.
Reminders still did NOT work properly.
    6) Once again, tried hard resets.
    NOPE.  Still did NOT work.
    7) CALLED Verizon Wireless and described my problem and they pretty much didn't/couldn't help and said they would "send a report to the engineering team" about the problem.
And HERE is the thing that REALLY BURNED ME UP about this WHOLE ENTIRE DEBACLE.....  my DroidX worked 100% correctly BEFORE the Gingerbread upgrade to the Android OS.  When it was running Froyo (previous OS), every single calendar reminder on my original calendar worked every single time, on time, every time.  BUT... AFTER Gingerbread, it just didn't work.  (Don't get me started with the phantom powering on of the phone after it was powered off problem that STILL exists after the 602 upgrade).
SO.......... what did I eventually do???   Well, by this time, I was eligible for early upgrade at upgrading pricing and switched to the iPhone4 (I didn't want the 4S).  AND YOU KNOW WHAT???  Using the ORIGINAL GOOGLE calendar that I used before all the above stuff happened, my reminders on the iPhone4 work all the time, every time.  These include appointments that I made 8 months ago to new ones that I make every day.  And for all of them, the iPhone4 sets the reminder chime off EXACTLY when I want it to.
Now, I realize that this doesn't address the problem for you, Ganamide (who wrote above), but for me, I finally got to the point where I had missed critical appointments with clients and couldn't wait around for the DroidX Calendar Reminder Problem to be resolved.
So Verizon Wireless and Motorola (maker of DroidX) and Google (maker of Android OS) all have "negative points" in my book for allowing such a problem to continue without proper resolution.   Apple, on the other hand, gets "positive points" in my book for making a product that is rock solid and works well.

  • Location based wifi not working as expected

I would expect that location based wifi would either turn wifi off if not in a place with saved networks, or turn wifi on if arriving in a place with saved networks, but it does neither. I have tested this by turning wifi on when at home, then periodically checking status in places with no networks saved or open, and it's still on, and also by turning wifi off when away from home, then checking at home to see if it's turned on, and it isn't. So doesn't seem to be working either way. I have stamina mode active, and some people have said that location based wifi won't work with this.but most say works just fine, and would have expected Sony to say if different power saving options were incompatible. Always have location sensing GPS turned on. Often have mobile data off. Some have said that this is necessary for location based wifi to work, but others not, and to my way of thinking, location based wifi should turn wifi off whenever out of range of saved network, and add long as phone has some way of knowing where it is to wake up wifi, then it shouldn't matter which location modality it uses. Can anyone shed any light on this? Google's not being very helpful. Thanks

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
You do need to have data turned on and as such you must also have Stamina mode turned off for this to work sorry.

  • Iphone 3g just got ios 4, now locations not working

I am trying to use location services in maps for example and since i got ios 4 today, it tells me cannot determine your location. I have reset the network settings, then location settings, then reset all settings and still nothing. Everything else works great but this location feature wont work now.
    Any ideas?

There are two different "problems" here:
    1. a more fine grained permissions framework where enabled restrictions or disabled location services prevets the use of location services in one, more or all applications.
To fix this problem: disable restrictions, allow location services for all or specific apps.
    2. WiFi based location services in iOS 4 functions differently from earlier versions, giving a lower positioning accuracy. This results in location services giving less accurate readings in some locations, while other locations - that was OK before the upgrade, and works with SkyHooks site - rendering no positioning possible.
Other results of the new algorithm is that when used in locations with many access points the position of the device keeps jumping around and that the positioning works longer when moving out of the range of the access point used by the device to connect to the Internet.
As an example of the second problem I have the following readings:
Location A: WiFi connection to access point, access point and all neighboring access points are registred at SkyHook, all neighboring access points are out of range.
3.1.3: The exact location of the access point as registered at SkyHook ± 150 m.
    4.0: 50 m away on the middle of the road ± 250 m.
Location B: WiFi connection to access point, access point and all neighboring access points are registred at SkyHook, one neighboring access points is also in range.
    3.1.3: Appox 5m from device location ± 250 m.
    4.0: Approx 10m from device location ± 80 m.
Location C: WiFi connection to access point, access point and a number of neighboring access points are registred at SkyHook, some neighboring access points in range.
    3.1.3: Appox 0-50 m from device location ± 150 m.
4.0: Center of registered access points in range ± 150 m.
Location D: device moved out of range of access point, access point and a number of neighboring access points are registred at SkyHook, some neighboring access points in range.
    3.1.3: Appox 0-50 m from device location ± 150 m.
4.0: Center of registered access points in range ± 250 m.
Location E: WiFi connection to access point, access point and a number of neighboring access points are registred at SkyHook, all neighboring access points are out of range.
3.1.3: The exact location of the access point as registered at SkyHook ± 150 m.
    4.0: No position fix possible.
Location F: Device moved from location E until another access point registered at SkyHook comes into range:
3.1.3: The exact location of the access point as registered at SkyHook ± 150 m.
4.0: Center of registered access points in neighborhood ± 250 m.
Location G: WiFi connection to an SSID provided by a number of access points in neighborhood using several different changing channels. Some access points registered at SkyHook, others not.
3.1.3: The exact location of the access point connected to as registered at SkyHook ± 150 m.
4.0: Center of registered access points in range ± 150 m. When channels change the algorithm get confused and the location starts jumping around resulting in the location ending up up to 500 m from device ± 250 m.
Apart from moving, there does not appear to be a fix for the second problem. You have to wait for Apple or the location service provider(s) to fix the problem - note: this may take some time - or we could be lucky within the near future.
The old algorithm appear to be more focused on the access point connected to, while the new algorithm apparently focuses more on the neighborhood. It appears to ignore signal strength, and the possibility that all other access points in the neighborhood may be out of range (in this case because the access point in question had been optimised for maximum bandwidth and minimal interference).
Conclusion: the new algorithm apparently only works in areas with many SkyHook registrations if the device is moved out of range of the access point is was connected to, or if the ranges of neighboring access points overlap.

  • Web based worklist not working...

    Hello,
(on wlpi 2.1 on weblogic sp2)
I've created a process that utilizes a stateless session bean. Every thing works
fine when using the fat-client worklist.
I wanted to use the web-based worklist with my process, so I did the following:
1.) Installed the %wlint_home%/samples/bpm_api/jsp/worklist.war from the weblogic
    console.
2.) Tweaked the "startWeblogic.cmd" file (I'm in NT) to add the wlpi-worklist.jar
file into the classpath. (this is all in the reamde file in %wlint_Home%/samples/bpm_api/jsp/)
This works at first, as I can get to the login screen, but as soon as I log in, I
get a "Classnotfound error" saying it can't find my home interface for my session
    bean.
So, I figured, "Must not be in the classpath (somehow)". I added my bean .jar file
into the classpath, and then try again. I get a different error that says "Classnotfound
error" for the EJBHelper. Same error happens on the fat client in both cases.
I can simply take out my startWeblogic classpath changes, and restart the server,
and the fat-client works again (but the jsp worklist doesn't not -- no surprise.)
Has anyone been able to get the jsp-based worklist to work with a process that uses
    an EJB?

I totally lost my internet connection via the router WRT54GS V6
I am connected directly into the computer from my cable modem.
I have tried everything. Upgarded firmware, factory default reset, setting the software again and again.
When I run Easylink Advisor it always reads, no internet...like I said the modem is working when plugged directly into my computer.
All proper lights are working on the router and modem.
Could the router be just be broken?
It seems to be getting worse and worse.
    help please.

  • Object based navigation not working in FPN

    Hi All,
We are having issue with Object Based Navigation in FPN.
System details are, Central Portal 7.01 sp 06 and Child (SRM) Portal 7.01 SP 07.
We are using the standard business package iView Check Status, which is working fine in Producer Portal and the same is not working in Central Portal.
    Kindly help us on this.
    Regards,
    Venkatesh K

    Hi Venkatesh,
Before gettign into the isue there is some limitation given by sap on this reagrds of OBN with fpn:
1.A content developer may create an OBN source iView to call the OBN service to run code that processes a number of target iViews and displays them for the user to choose from, during runtime, in a context menu accessible from the source iView.
When in remote delta link mode, the federated portal network does not support this implementation of OBN, regardless or whether the source iView calling the OBN service was created in NetWeaver 7.1 or in NetWeaver 7.0 and then upgraded to 7.1.
2.The user on the consumer side may have additional roles that the respective user on the producer does not have.
Conversely, OBN does not search for targets in roles that the user has on the producer, which do not exist on the consumer.
Note also: In remote role assignment mode all content editing is done on the producer, including the editingobject-based navigation, such as the removal and addition of implementations and changes in priority
so as per your perspective issue can i clearly knwo abou the issue your getiing ,as it is working fine in Producer Portal and not in central portal right?
Once check for the remote delta link which might help you to resolve your issue,Hope this information helps you or take near to the issue any more queries get back !
    Thanks&Regards

  • Access Based Enumeration not working Windows 2012 R2 Datacenter

I am having a hard time figuring out why Access Based Enumeration is not working for me.  I have set and re-set the settings and I'm still able to see folders I should not. I do get denied access on folders I don't have access to.
I have checked effective access which say everything is denied to me but I can still see the folder(s) listed.
I have the share permissions set to authenticated Users - Full Control
I have the NTFS permissions set to the correct Dept. Groups. - Modify, and Domain Admins - Full Control and Guests - Deny Full Control
    Any idea's?
    --------Update--------
I believe I had found the issue.  It was a rights issue with a group that added to the local admins group.

It seems that you have resolve the issue.

  • Event Based Alert not working

    Version R12.1.3
I have created a new Event based alert, the Alert is not firing the action set.
The SQL is working perfectly fine. But action set is not firing when I check from History.
Could somebody provide me, if any Patches need to be installed.

    Hi Hussein,
I tried this, but Alert did not work.
When I change the type of alert to periodic I am getting the desired result.
Basically I am trying to insert some data into table.
this is working from Periodic alert but not from event based alert.
The alert is created based on GL_PERIOD_STATUSES table, when ever there is change in status column, then I am trying to insert in one of the custom table.
Please let me know if you have any other pointers for this issue.
    regards,
    PK

  • Time Based Publishing - Not Working

    Hello SAP KM Gurus-
I had configured Time Based Publishing to work on our clustered portal.  Everything worked fine until we went to a central instance / dialog set-up.  Now Time Based Publishing no longer works and I can't seem to get it to work no matter what I do.  I have so far:  scheduled the job on only one instance (as per the clustering guidelines in SAP Library), turned it on with properties with the repository (and for the folder I wish to use) and have checked to make sure the service is okay in KM Configuration.  However, it seems like the job never comes by to hide the documents b/c they just show up for Read users no matter what I change.  As I stated before, this was working fine until we went to the new configuation.
I've checked SAP Notes with no luck.  Anyone have any idea why this is not working?  I'm fresh out.
    Any help greatly appreciated...
    Jim

    Hello Anjali-
Thanks for your post.  Yes, I have checked that.  Here are my settings - I have Check Valid From assigned to one instance running on  the Central Instance and Check Valid To assigned to the other instance (we have two instances on each server) as per the help docs.  In component monitor, tbp is coming up green and the properties it is State-Ok.  On the repositories, I have both tbp and properties assigned and when I enable tbp I can get the lifecycle tab for the documents.  It appears as if everything is set up right.  However, the read users can see the documents just fine when they shouldn't.  It seems as if the Check Valid From and Check Valid To jobs just never run.
Is there anyway I can see if the jobs have run and what the schedule was?  The tbp report also showing nothing...  Does it look like I'm doing anything wrong above.  I'm on EP 14/KM 14 by the way...
    Thanks for your help-
    Jim

  • Network Locations not working with Multiple SSIDs

I've had a MacBookPro 15 for three years.  Started with 10.5 and upgraded to 10.6.  I just received a new MacBookPro 15 with Lion 10.7.
    The Issue:
On 10.5 and 10.6 I use multiple network locaitons.  One for work, one for Home and one for Roaming.  I have a "Work" SSID at work and at Home.  I also have a "Home" SSID at home.
So basically, when I'm home I can select "work" to be on my hardware VPN router and connect directly to the office.  Then, when I'm not working, I can switch to the "home" location and automatically connect to my home network and not have big brother watching me surf the web.
In 10.7 this no longer works.  All of the WIFI settings are them same in both locations.  When I'm on "home" I add the SSID for home and it connects.  I then turn off the wifi and switch locations (same as I do in 10.6).  Then I turn WIFI back on, and it connects to my home SSID.  I go to the wireless settings, and add the work SSID and delete the home SSID.  I shut off wireless, change back to home and turn it back on.  I go to wireless settings, and the only SSID is the one I added under the work location.
Has anyone else seen this change in behavior?
    Dan

I prefer to continue the way I've been using it for 3 years rather than switch now.  The work location has the WIFI adapter as primary so that the default gateway is the wifi network even if I have a network cable plugged in.  This allows me to use my "work" network, but I can still share content with my local home network and also print to my local printer (not on my work network).
So, this solution really doesn't work for me.  And yes, I know you can only connect to one at a time, but  again, those are not the only settings that I change when switching locations.  Those are the only settings that are broken.

  • Location based printing not working

    Hello all,
I've been searching for an answer but coming up with nothing so I figured I'd give it a shot and ask. After installing a fresh version of Leopard (with the latest updates) on a computer and then copying the user data back onto said computer, the location based printing doesn't work anymore. The printers used to switch automatically, now they do not. They switched when going from one office (city) to the next. (I believe it used the different subnet addresses to tell where it was at on our network.)
Any ideas on how to "fix" it. All I see is that it's just supposed to work so there really isn't anything to fix.
    Thanks in advance,
    Eric

    Hello Eric,
I am surprised to hear that you had this working. I use the Location function to switch between three different Ethernet connections (office, lab and training room) and I have never found that I can set a particular printer for the respective subnet.
As you know, you set your default printer in System Preferences > Print & Fax. I thought that if this was set to 'Last Printer Used' it would remember which printer was last used for the respective Location, but it always shows the last printer used regardless of which Location I selected.
FYI - I also have an alternate account which I use for home (also set as a Location for wireless connection). This is defaulted to a different printer compared to the work account, but is not influenced by the Location setting.
I would be interested to hear if anyone else has had this working.
