Remote IP address is invalid error

Hi,
I'm attemping to connect with a buddy via video chat. No success. I keep getting an error that says "Remote IP address is invalid". I've changed my router settings to work with iChat. Same error. Any ideas? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. I tried that. No luck. Through alot of trial and error I'm discovering that the problem is likely on the other end.
My buddy has a Netgear router and, apparently that is the problem. I've been reading the forums and see that Netgear routers are notorious for connectivity issues. He's tried upgrading the firmware to version 9 (actually a later version I believe) on his Netgear WGR614, changed the port to 443 in iChat and still we can't connnect.

Remote IP Address is Invalid

I have an iMac running Mac OS X 10.5.3, and iChat 4.0.3, and can iChat with my sisters in Thailand, Arkansas, and North Carolina, but cannot connect with my mother in Charlotte, NC. My mother gets the error message Remote IP Address is Invalid. She has no problems connecting with my sisters, only me, and this just started last week. Any suggestions?

REMOTE IP ADDRESS IS INVALID on ichat

Can anyone shed any light on this issue, Before I upgraded to Leopard I had no problems with speaking with my contacts through audio or both audio and visual. Why is is it when I speak with friends I can IM them on ichat but when I send them a conferencing request it says connecting and at there end it says remote ip address is invalid and on my screen comes up with an error. two of my contacts on my list this happens one of my other contacts ichat works fine.
Any help in this matter would be a great.

I haven't changed a thing, all the equipment I use now I used before when the ichat worked perfectly.
I checked out the "leopard" concept, but my other computer the IMAC is older so doesn't use that operating system. And still it blocks me from ichatting with the same people.
Perhaps my leopard is blocking the whole system?

I had called apple help line, but they were no help at all. I had wondered if it had anything to do with the 2 contacts being .mac and not aim. Only because my daughter noticed the aim contacts were fine?

Hi i recently put a post on about problems connecting to another mac using panther, I have sort of done everything that was proposed, I have also been into the archives and I noticed a post that points to ward the same problem that I may be having I tried to day to connect to other computer and they informed me that at their end it reported " remote ip address is invalid" I read from the archives that there could be an issue due to having VM Fusion on my mac with XP , if this is the case how can I sperate the two or do I have to remove the other operating system in order to utilize ichat Cheers Steve

The dreaded: The network address is invalid error - SQL 2014 Cluster on Server 2012 R2

Trying to setup an SQL 2014 Failover cluster on Windows Server 2012 R2 (two nodes). Every time I get to the assign a SQL server Network Name piece of the setup I get the following error message:
The given network name is unusable because there was a failure trying to determine if the network name is valid for use by the clustered SQL instance due to the following error: 'The network address is invalid.'
This happens whether I use the Advanced cluster installation procedures or the normal installation. I have tried the following based on anything I can find on the web:
1) Removed the clustered MTDTC role.
2) Deleted the NIC Team (4 1GB NICs). Deleted all but 1 NIC from the server device manager.
3) Shutdown the second node.
4) Lanman Server registry change posted someplace on this forum that does not stick on reboot
None of the above, separately or in combination, has worked to allow SQL 2014 to be installed as a cluster role.
There is no virtual machines added to the cluster. This is not a VMware installation. It is straight Windows 2012 R2 with a two node cluster (setup identically).
Any ideas, suggestions, comments?

The cluster was verified, there are only warnings related to a lack of redundant network paths as the cluster verification doesn't recognize a team of 4 nics are redundant. I updated AD to include the permissions detailed in the link Lydia provided,
still no go.

Video chat Remote IP Address Invalid???

My friend just got a new macbook, running leopard. And i have an older macbook running tiger. In Ichat we can txt chat and send eachother stuff but when we try to audio or video chat i (on the tiger macbook) get an error saying video chat couldn't start because remote ip address is invalid.

Welcome to the  Discussions
Tiger or Leopard users can see this Error 4
It refers to the Buddies End.
Your iChat can see that their iChat is connected to the Internet twice.
Connecting via Ethernet and Wifi will do this.
So will have Internet Sharing on in System Preferences Sharing
Running Parallels to run Windows can turn on Internet Sharing and create two VNCs in System Preferences > Network that need turning Off.
It also happens with MIMO Wifi Routing devices.
These "sort of" Split the Wifi Channel into In and Out subchannels which iChat (at their end) sees as two or more connections.
Remember this is their Problem It is at their End.

I'm a tiger and the other computer I'm attempting to video iChat with is a leopard.
It has worked before but now out of nowhere we can't video chat.
Every time we try to connect, his will say that I didn't respond and mine will say, mainly, Remote IP Address is Invalid or sometimes, that I didn't respond when clearly I accepted.
Our Internet Sharing is turned off and on the other responses given to similar issues I didn't what the other questions meant so I couldn't understand. I'm not good with computers so you'll have to respond in layman's terms and also tell me where to go to check what's supposed to be on or off, please.

Cannot start iChat with friend - receive error "Invalid remote IP address"

I'm having trouble connecting to iChat with friend. We are both using AIM accounts and click on connect. The other person accepts the invitation and iChat tries to connect. It fails and I receive the error message, "invalid remote IP address". I'm am using Mac OS X Tiger while my friend has Leopard. Does that make a difference? I appreciate any feedback.

The Leopard end should make sure that in System Preferences > Sharing has Internet Sharing Off.
Also they should not be connected to the Internet twice such as Wifi and Ethernet to the same router.
Using Parallels in Leopard causes a similar issue.
In this case turn Off the two VPNs in System Preferences > Network (and set Parallels itself to get it's Own IP and not share the Mac's)
Some MIMO modem or Wifi routers can cause this.
Get a new modem or router is the simple answer to that one.

Mailer object error message "SMTP: invalid from address. SMTP error 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. d5sm35857280yhl.19".

I am trying to send an email from Lookout V6.6 using the Mailer object. I have an email address setup through GMAIL and have verified it works. Also, Lookout Mailer object is able to verify GMAIL server. I get the following error message when trying to send the email: "SMTP: invalid from address. SMTP error 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. d5sm35857280yhl.19". Anyone know what is causing this?

Another method is to use a SMTP relayer, we have deployed them in the past.

Error: Ship to/Bill To Address is Invalid. Please review the Address Setup

After Upgrading to 12.1.3, Orders are failing during Import/Scheduling with "Error: Ship to/Bill To Address is Invalid. Please review the Address Setup" whenever Tax Engine is called. And this is happening for only specific addresses (that are vaild). I will appreciate any experience/suggestion on this regard.

Cannot send e-mail - "The sender address invalid" error message

Today I keep getting this error message "The sender address is invalid - when i try to send e-mail. I checked my settings and they are the same as always - my e-mail address hasn't changed; the outgoing and incoming server information is the same. I went through the Troubleshooting steps and still nothing. Also it's taking a really long time to connect to check for incoming e-mails. Any clues on why this is happening or what I should try next? The e-mail is via Roadrunner does that matter (althoug it didn't a couple of days ago)

This message means that your outgoing email server is not letting you connect to send email. Maybe RR changed their policy. You should be able to send using home WiFi, but when using 3G RR will not allow connections from outside their network.
One easy way around this, is to use the built-in AT&T SMTP server for outgoing email.
Or, check the RR FAQs and see if they allow an authenticated account to send email - maybe you just need to add SSL and username/pwd on the RR outgoing email server settings.
BTW - this is asked almost daily - the "Search Discussions" box to your right would have given you many hits with the same answer.
