Remote Mgr Console java not working 64bit

Is anyone else having issues using the java based console screen in Remote Manager (I assume this what people call "NoRM"?) on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine?
We just upgraded our workstations, these are brand new Dell Precisions, and now I can't manage our Network 6.5 boxen.
In Firefox, it won't 't even open the console window: in IE9, it opens, and I can manage to type in maybe 1 to 3 characters, then it freezes up, rejecting any further input.
I'm using the latest Java, jre7up21. I'm using the 32 bit version as the browsers are, I believe, 32 bit. (well... Firefox is anyway). At java.com, both browsers past their test and show the latest version.
I wound up trying to install the 64bit version as well, then older version, and nothing worked, started uninstalling some older version, it got to where it broke the java plugin altogether, so I did a system restore from before all this nonsense, and if I go to java.com and run the test, it works successfully.
I'm about ready to throw out this machine and hook my old one back up.

Thought I'd update.. I found that disabling caching also breaks ConsoleOne, so not really a viable solution after all.
I had to have my machine re-imaged, ultimately, that fixed it.
Now, months later, the problem has suddenly returned, and is also affecting coworkers, so it's not just me; and when I attempt to open the console screen via NRM, it whines about security and needing an update and simply won't run (even if I click on activate).
But updating before had created the issue, far as I know.
Lose-lose. I guess I have nothing to lose by trying to update though, because I can't get in now as it is.
Thank God for the ability to SSH, at least.
I hate Java. Seriously. It's flaky, unstable, insecure, and slow. Why couldn't developers just write for Windows and Posix systems and leave it at that? The "one size fits all" philosophy results in something that fits no one very well, but the industry has invested so much into it that we're stuck with a krufty psuedo platform.

JAVA not working well

Hi,
I'm kinda new to Java and i hope this problem is in the right forum part.
But here is the problem:
Java does not work 90% of the time. The console does not work than, when i want to go to sites that have something to do with Java (like java chat applets) they just don't seem to work. All i get is a grey or blue screen (looks like only a part of it is loaded).
Like i said when i have that problem i also can't enter the console (stays grey too than), and i can't go to the control panel (guess what, java likes gray on my pc -.-) and even when i click about java the box that appears is completely grey and without even a sign of a letter.
Also, strange enough, Java somethimes (1 in like 30 times) does seem to work and i got no problems at all.
In the start i did not have this problem, but since 2 or 3 weeks i do have this problem. Strange enough it all started when i installed Mozilla Firefox (that is running besides IE on my pc, could it have anything to do with that?), also i heard that Norton Antivirus can cause problems with Java and i got that on my pc too.
I already tried to reinstall Java a 100 times, lower the internet security option and nothing seems to work. I get no error logs, only a grey box (installed java runtime enviroment 1.5.0)
Hope someone can give me a helping hand.

Interesting problem. U try this.
1) Uninstall Java complitely from your system. Remove all teh temp. files of java like the "Java" directory name too.
2) Delete the file found in application data folder i.e. "C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Application Data\Sun" (Remove 'Sun' folder)
3) Remove all the registory entries for java after uninstalling.
4) Install a new fresh copy of j2se or jre as you need.

Console -f not working in ALOM

Hi,
I connected to ALOM on V240 installed with Solaris 10.
console -f does not give me console on screen.
Sun(tm) Advanced Lights Out Manager 1.6.8
sc> console -f
Enter #. to return to ALOM. ...I pressed ENTER a lot of times but does not give me console.
Another observation in this case is that I found server is connected to KVM and the console is working there currently.
output-device=screen
input-device=keyboard
for other server with same eeprom values, ALOM>console -f shows console login prompt. but KVM console is not working for this server.
Any ideas ?

Set your input-device and output-device to 'ttya' to force the system console via the ALOM.
The default settings of screen/keyboard will still route the console to ALOM when there is not actually a screen and keyboard attached, but when they are attached, well, they become the console.

Console port not working.

Hello!
I would like to know if there's some situation what a console port could be disabled, or something like that.
I'm trying to configure a Catalyst 2960 Series PoE-24 by the console port using the hyperterminal, but it's not working. I verified the cable and the COM port, and everything works with another switch (same model).
Does anyone knows what could possibly be happening?

My colleagues have focused on the usual issues that cause the console to not work - possible issues with the terminal emulator or more likely is mis match in the speed setting of the console. If you work through those possibilities and the console still does not work then I have another possibility to suggest. Perhaps someone configure the command no exec under line con 0. This would cause the console to not work. It would display messages during bootup but would not accept any commands.
Does the switch seem to boot up normally? Was it configured with an IP address that you could potentially telnet to? This would give you a way to investigate the configuration.
If my suggestion is correct and the issue is that no exec was configured then you should be able to use password recovery to bypass the existing config and this could restore normal operation for the switch.

Java not working on Red hat 6 64bit

I am having issues trying to get the lastest Java to work on my computer.
I download the java then run the commands and it is giving me errors. I am new to linux and not sure what is going on any help is appreciated.

I don't even think this is directly related to the file you downloaded, the error you get is the result of something else. Do a google search for 'bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory' and see for yourself. For example:

Creation of Weblogic Domain in console mode not working

I've installed the Middleware home with ADF Runtime installer (Installer was 12.1.2.0.0). Now, I'm trying to create and configure a domain based on the JRF Template. I'm executing the following command from Putty

This vaguely means that its trying to open a GUI wizard, which is not what I intended to do. The argument -mode=console should run the installer in console mode, but its trying to launch it in GUI mode.
I searched online, but I have not found anything useful on this issue yet.
Am I missing something? Has anyone faced this problem before.
Any thoughts on this would be helpful !!

Weblogic 12C (12.1.2 to be precise), currently does not support console mode Domain creation. It supports only GUI mode and Silent mode.
Possible solution to create a 12.1.2 Weblogic domain fully qualified enough to deploy ADF Applications :
1. Install Xming, and enable X11 forwarding on Putty
2. Silent Mode installation: The Configuration wizard. ./config.sh -mode=silent -silent_script=xyz . Yes, it needs a silent script, not silent.xml. I did not try this way and instead resorted to WLST. Still there are not enough blogs that clearly tell you how to install domain based on JRF template. I stumbled upon a similar OTN forum post.

10.6.8 Java not working. "No compatible version of Java 1.5 is available"

Hey Guys
Firstly I would like to thank you for clicking this question and would ask you please if you have a solution to my problem answer whatever you can. Anyway lets get on with it.
Recently I have been having a problem on my macbook. I am running 10.6.8 as said in title. Previously i was having an inactive plugin error going on and the software update said there were no newer versions available. However when looking for a solution for this by clearing my java cache ect. i somehow ended up with this problem. Whenever I try to run a java based application such as minecraft it says "Cannot launch "Minecraft" No compatible version of Java 1.5+ is avaiable." Also when from this menu i try to open Java Preferences it says "You can't use this version of the application Java Preferences with this version of Mac Os X. You have Mac OS X 10.6.8. The application requires Mac OS X 10.7 or later." I did not download java 1.7 or a different version of Java Preferences outside of the software update. If you have any idea of what's going on please help me out. I am struggling to get on with work and games without java even working.

The standard recommendation is for users to turn off Java except when they have to use it on known and trusted websites (like their bank). Javascript, which is unrelated despite the name, can be left on.

Web Service Client(Console App) not working on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition

I am trying to consume an ASMX Web Service in a console app, its working fine in Windows 7,Windows Server 2012 Standard,Windows Server 2008 R2 DataCenter,Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, But its not working in Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition which
is the deployment server.
I tried consuming the ASMX web service using Web Reference and Service Reference as well but its not helping. Its throwing up the following error,
Message:There is an error in XML document (1, 331491).
Inner Exception : System.Xml.XmlException: '.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 331491.
The scenario is that i call the web service and it returns me an XML i am not able to receive the XML on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition.
Please provide suggestions on this I need to resolve this ASAP.

IPhone 4+Remote+Component Cable+TV=Not Working

Hello all, I am writing to get some help getting my accessories to work together for my iPhone 4. I use an Apple Component AV Cable to hook my iPhone4 up to the front of my older TV (red/yellow/white) to view my videos on my TV. This works but I wanted to get the apple remote so I could control the volume and play from the couch. When I bought it, the page was different, but it said it was compatible with the iPhone 4, so I got it.
Well, it didn't work. Not with just my previous set up and with nothing I have tried since. When I plugged the cables in and tried to use the remote, it didn't operate the iphone, though the video was playing on the tv as usual. I assume the iPhone doesn't have an infrared receiver? So then, I got my hub's Dock, which has an infrared on the front, and on the back, an s-video female connection, the flat narrow port for the usual apple cables (which my Apple Compnent set plugs into as well), and a Line Out. I tried inserting the Apple Component AV Cable, which has the usual apple connector and the red/yellow/white cables. The remote works with the iphone now, but the video won't play on the TV, even though it says it is. It's like the signal isn't going through the dock to the connector. Do I need a different dock, a different cable? Something else?
All I have open to connect to the TV is the Component red/yellow/white.

Whoops, I always get the type of connection messed up. Sorry. I still have the right connections in any case. I have red/yellow/white on the tv and red/yellow/white apple cable. The set up works just fine. I get color video and audio and it looks great. My problems started when I tried getting the remote to work with it.
Like I said, if I use the dock in the setup, the remote works on the iphone but the tv does not play the video. If I take out the dock, the tv plays the video, but the remote does not work the iphone.
Does anyone have any ideas, please?

Remote for iPod does not work for MENU

I have just bought a 30GB iPod and the A/V connection Kit which includes a Remote. The menu function of the Remote has no effect on the iPod.
One reply to such question stated, quote ... it does not work ... it is meant for the front row software.
In the documentation provided with the A/V connection Kit, there was nothing re the limitation in functionality of the unit.
Could someone pls explain to me what is meant by "front row software" in relation to the iPod ?

Remote for Tv anywhere not working

My new remote from the box will not work but everything else works fine. Any Ideas how to make my remote work?

My remote doesn't work either. It hasn't worked period. I returned the previous tuner and got a new one, but it still doesn't work. I have windows xp pro corp. on an IBM T40p. I don't know what to do... cept maybe pull my hair out? The jog dial on the side also doesn't work. Please help? Thanks

OEM web console is not working from client side

I have 2 node RAC environment on windows 2003 server with 11g r1. My problem is on node a "oracle enterprise manager" "https://server-a:1158/em" is not working (node A). Is there any thing that I can do to solve this problem ?
On node B the url "https://server-b:1158/em" is working.
Any help would be appreciate.

I wonder if the error comes after:
ole_workbook = ole_excel.application.workbooks(1)
or after:
ole_worksheet = ole_workbook.worksheets(1)
The last command could also be written as:
ole_excel.Application.ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets[1]
That way ole_workbook = ole_excel.application.workbooks(1) isn't needed...
I wonder why you use ole_workbook = ole_excel.application.workbooks(1). Is there any possibility you will open and work with two workbooks concurrently?

Remote Desktop & Screen Sharing not working??

Hello all,
I am trying to connect to a friends computer via the Finder's Screen Sharing, I enabled the screen sharing preferences under the System Preferences, put the password, etc and had him do the same and I am not able to connect to his system. I'm sure there is something else I have to do in order to get this to work. In the Windows world I had to use the VNC. But, I remeber reading in a Snow Leopard book that this is all that had to be done in order for this to work.
