Java not working on Red hat 6 64bit

I am having issues trying to get the lastest Java to work on my computer.
I download the java then run the commands and it is giving me errors. I am new to linux and not sure what is going on any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
here is the error
./jre-6u26-linux-i586.bin
Unpacking...
Checksumming...
Extracting...
./jre-6u26-linux-i586.bin: ./install.sfx.6246: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory
Done.

This is a programming forum. For technical help, find a proper linux forum.
I don't even think this is directly related to the file you downloaded, the error you get is the result of something else. Do a google search for 'bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory' and see for yourself. For example:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=242565
So are you perhaps trying to install a 32 bits JVM? If so this thread suggests you need to install a 32 bits version of glibc.

I´ve tested 3 different linux versions ( Red Hat 5.6, 6.0 and 6.2 ) running under Hyper-V 3 (Win2012R2) and the behaviour is always the same, the network service starts up, the IP address is binded to the NIC, the NIC responds to PING requestes
    coming from localhost, but...
There´s no communication with any other host n the network. I have several windows machines working well, same vSwitch for all VMs, Generation1 machine, tested with Legacy adaptaer and "standard" net adapter as well.
I have to install ICs even using the Legacy NIC?
    RH7.0 works better?

For RHEL 6.3 and below, you need to install IC for network to work with "standard" NIC.
Can you use a newer version of RHEL 6? The IC are integrated in them.
RHEL 7 comes with IC integrated.

  • Jrun4 SP6 Red Hat Linux 64Bit

    Hello All,
I am looking at switching my Jrun4 from windows 2003 STR to
Red Hat ES 64bit. According to docs Jrun4 will run on 64bit but
only with 32bit Jrun4 and 32 Java. Is anyone doing this?
The reason for this is that we are being limited for JVM heap

I am using Acrobat Pro XI not working at all in Windows7 64bit - tried everything. About a month ago I built new computer. Acrobat worked fine. In last week it started not producing PDFs using Save As and would crash when processing scanned document. So I redownloaded exe file, used the acrocleaner to erase existing program, and reloaded Acrobat Pro XI.
No the program will not start at all. Freezes when opening by clicking PDF file or by opening program icon.

Please try the following basic troubleshooting steps:
    > Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
    > Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )

  • Java suddenly not working. Red X

My java was working fine until a few days ago. I tried going into a TalkCity room that I usually visit and it comes up like it is going to load, but then the red X comes up. All other sites that require Java work fine. I un-installed java and re-installed it, so my version is current (1.6.0_07-b06). Around the time that it stopped working, my computer was going pretty slow so I did an update on everything, ran Norton, Spybot, CCleaner..then it stopped working. I checked all of my settings, Java is enabled for everything with no restrictions. I even downloaded Firefox because I read elsewhere that it would work, but it didn't. I did a disk cleanup and defragmenter too..still nothing. I even did a system restore today, back to before I was having problems, thinking that maybe I did something with all of the updates that would mess it up, but that didn't even work.
When I run the Java Console, this is what comes up:

You should be aware that this is a forum for discussion for Java developers. It is not an end user support forum.
At any rate your issue is a problem with the site in question. "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: PChatPanel" means that resources the program needs cannot be found. This is a problem with that site and you will have to address it with them in order to resolve it. Nobody else can help you with this because it is a site problem and beyond our control.

  • Java option icon not displaying AND Java not working, even after deleting and re-installing Java

Hi, I have uninstalled and re-installed Java. When I look at Add-ons, it shows Java Platform SE7 U17 10.17.2.2 and Java deployment Toolkit 7.0.17… 10.17.2.2 enabled. But it is not working – and I do not see the Firefox plugin to allow occasional use of Java.
One useful thread which discusses several difficulties in detail is
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/944956?esab=a&as=aaq
I tried to follow scrumpyjoe’s advice in this thread:
“This fixed it for me (32 bit windows) after installing Version 7 Update 10, but not seeing the plugin:
    1) start regedit
    2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins
    3) right click, add New Key, name: @java.com/JavaPlugin,version=10.xx.xx
    4) click on it, then right click and add new string value, name: path
    5) right click, Modify, change value data to: C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\plugin2\npjp2.dll [check if this is the right dll for your setup]
    6) exit regedit
    7) start FF”
    - but (unless I have made a mistake) it has not resolved my problem.
What can I try next, please ?

  • 10.6.8 Java not working. "No compatible version of Java 1.5  is available"

    Hey Guys
Firstly I would like to thank you for clicking this question and would ask you please if you have a solution to my problem answer whatever you can.  Anyway lets get on with it.
Recently I have been having a problem on my macbook.  I am running 10.6.8 as said in title.  Previously i was having an inactive plugin error going on and the software update said there were no newer versions available.  However when looking for a solution for this by clearing my java cache ect. i somehow ended up with this problem.  Whenever I try to run a java based application such as minecraft it says "Cannot launch "Minecraft" No compatible version of Java 1.5+ is avaiable." Also when from this menu i try to open Java Preferences it says "You can't use this version of the application Java Preferences with this version of Mac Os X.  You have Mac OS X 10.6.8. The application requires Mac OS X 10.7 or later." I did not download java 1.7 or a different version of Java Preferences outside of the software update.  If you have any idea of what's going on please help me out.  I am struggling to get on with work and games without java even working.
    Thanks for your help

Are you up to date with the updates?
    Update for Snow Leopard users:
Apple issued update 12 for Java for OS 10.6:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1573
Note:  On systems that have not already installed Java for Mac OS X 10.6 update 9 or later, this update will configure web browsers to not automatically run Java applets. Java applets may be re-enabled by clicking the region labeled "Inactive plug-in" on a web page. If no applets have been run for an extended period of time, the Java web plug-in will deactivate.
If, after installing Java for OS X 2013-002 and the latest version of Java 7 from Oracle, you want to disable Java 7 and re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6 web plug-in and Web Start functionality, follow these steps:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5559?viewlocale=en_US
    Further update:
Apple issued this Java related security update No. 13 on February 19:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5666
and Update No. 14 on March 4:  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1573
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5677
The standard recommendation is for users to turn off Java except when they have to use it on known and trusted websites (like their bank). Javascript, which is unrelated despite the name, can be left on.

  • New OSX not does not work with RED Rocket Card and old OSX Randomly Logs Out - UNSTABLE

It looks like my MBPR 16GB (MacBook Pro) randomly logs out and causes my programs to quit unsaved.  I can not update to the new OSX mountain Lion because the new Apple release is no longer compatible with the RED Rocket card needed for debaying RED Scarlet footage.  Mountain Lion causes the RED Rocket to not run correctly with Adobe Premiere.
At the same time, I am on Lion and my computer randomly logs me out and I lose all my work.  It seems as though the Retina is unstable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Can someone tell me how I can return this.  It seems as though I may have to switch the entire company over to PC if this is not figured out soon.

You probably have not received responses for two reasons.
    1. There are not many here that know what this is "RED Rocket card needed for debaying RED Scarlet footage"
    2. Your post appears to contain some sort of threat to Apple about moving to PCs. You are not addressing Apple here. We are users just like you. We don't care if you change over to PCs.
MBPs and Lion are very stable. Maybe your unsupported third party Red card is causing issues. Their answer seems to be that Mountain Lion is not supported. I wonder why?
My suggestion if this is a business environment is to not mess with this. If you know for a fact that your Red card works with PCs, change over to PCs. I know that if some tool was not working for my business I would not hesitate to get something that worked.

  • Consuming PI Webservice from Webdynpro Java Not working

    Hello SAP,
    Environment: CE 7.2.
Resolution expected immediately, Helpful answer is highly appreciated.
Is the namespace should not exceed 60char for PI Webservice, for executing the webservice from Webdynpro Java.
I tried with all the options in executing the PI Service from Webdynpro Java, None of the options worked. I am facing the below error while I was calling the PI Webservice.
I don't see any problem from Webdynpro Java, what ever the procedure I have followed is the standard procedure.
Fortunately when I execute the service from Webservice Navigator, it is working as expected. The same webservice when I consume it from Webdynpro Java it is not working
    Options tried so far:
    1) Published the Services to Service Registry and there by consuming the PI Service from Service Registry - Not worked
    2) Tweaked the URL with few options - Not worked (Tweaking the URL, ex: portType, Binding)
    3) Changing the Business Systems in PI and there after calling the service - Not worked
    4) Initializing the code, instead of creating Service Controller and calling the PI Service - Not worked.
    5) Created a Provider System and tried to call the PI Webservice from Provider System - Not Worked
For all the Options, I am facing the same error which is provided in the screenshot.
Below procedure which I have followed for calling the PI Webservice:
    1) Created Adaptive Webservice Model
    2) Provided PI Webservice URL (It prompts for PI System UserId and Password)
    3) Selected Option - No Service Group Configuration
    4) Provided Logical Destination
    6) Completed creation of Model
    7) Added the model as a UsedModel
    8) Right Click on Comp Contr. and selected Apply Template and Created a ServiceController for the model (Entire mapping to comp contr, Initializing the nodes is taken care by Service Contr.)
    9) Created an Template Action button and there by calling execute method which is auto rendered from CompContr..
    10) Build the project.
    11) Activated the code and Run the Application.
    12) Getting the below error which is showed in the message.
    ERROR MESSAGE:
Exception on execution of web service on destination 'GetPIHRPeopleData' for operation 'SI_CreateHRPeopleData_OS' in interface 'SI_CreatePeopleCompany_OS'

    Hi Sankar,
If the webservice is working fine in the Wsnavigator then there is some problem with importing the webservice in webdynpro for Java. Please check the required parameter for creating the Adaptive Webservice Model. After adding in the used model and compoent controller binding, you need to write code for to execute the webservice model.
Please check the code for initialization and execution for the webservice and then test it.

  • Upgraded to Firefox 4 and now the program I many alarm dealers use with Rapid Response Monitoring no longer works. RR Tech support said it had something to do with a change in Java not working with Firef 4

Rapid Response Monitoring Center developed a program for their dealers to log on to the main frame and look at customer info. The program now has a disclaimer on the log-on page Does not work with FireFox 4. RR tech support said it had to do with Java functions that were not continued in FF4. I can log on but the program will no longer display customer history or anything that seems to have a data base behind the function tab.
See www.rapidweb2000.com or call 1-800-932-3822 and ask for tech support for additional info about what they have found is the problem.

  • Java not working in Internet Explorer

I normally use another browser (Google Chrome) but need to use Internet Explorer for a particular online banking service. This service requires a Java applet.
I have the current Java environment (as at 21.3.12), SE 6 Update 31.
Java works in Chrome but does not work in IE8 or IE9.
I have un-installed and re-installed Java several times, tried going back to IE8, turned off ActiveX filtering, confirmed Java scripting is on, checked add-ins are managed correctly and so on and so on, without success. Given Java works it is not a Java
issue but must be an IE issue.
Are there any additional steps or diagnostics I can run to try to identify the problem as I need this to be resolved for the purposes of running my business.
    Many thanks!

    Hi guys.
I'm having an issue like this and none of the solutions above helped me.
I'm trying to open a specific web page that is not working with Java only on Internet Explorer (7, 8 nor 9). If I try to open in Google Chrome or Firefox it goes fine.
I've tried various versions of Java and all my tries were done both on Windows XP Professional and Windows 7 Professional.
The weird thing is that when I test it through Java webpage or some other page, it goes fine. It is not working only for this specific webpage.
    This is the webpage:
    http://iweb03ds.magnaclosures.com/stconf.nsf/meeting/mid3FC5EBB1D59C830685257A2900420436
It is a meeting webpage for our company to present their work to our clients and suppliers. I've also followed their own step-by-step advises, but no good either.
Could anyone help me on that?

  • Java Not Working, And Still No Answers. What Gives?

Okay, decided to start this topic anew, since the only response I got to the other one was a post calling me "rude and impatient" (I guess that's what they're calling "persistence" nowadays..) , instead of...well...ignoring my admittedly pushy and harsh tone and actually being helpful. However, for the sake of it, I do apologize for my attitude in my last topic.
But I digress, let's start off on a new foot, eh? On to the problem that is STILL at hand(in other words, "patience" hasn't gotten me jack, not even a "we don't know yet"):
So last night (10 PM January 20th), the Firefox Plugin Checker said that my Java version was outdated. I also got a pop-up saying that my current version of Java at the time (Java 7 update 10) had vulnerabilities. So to try and fix this, I went to the Java page and downloaded the update (Java 7 update 11).
To check and see if my update was working, I went to Java's check page, as well as another page I use. And here I discovered a problem. I got a notification that an old version of Java had been detected, and another prompt to download the current version (which I had already done). So I erased all versions of Java from my control panel, and tried to check it again. And when I did, I got this: http://oi50.tinypic.com/35b6xx2.jpg and http://oi47.tinypic.com/15fg37p.jpg.
As you can see, both pages tell me that I need to install a missing plugin of some sort. So, thinking this would resolve the issue, I clicked the Install Missing Plugin button. This is what it told me was missing: http://oi45.tinypic.com/302uwbl.jpg. So I clicked next to install it.... and got this: http://oi45.tinypic.com/2cici0x.jpg, which I assume means that the plugin did not install. So I pressed Manual Install... and was lead/linked right back to the Java download page (where it all began, and what doesn't seem to be working in the first place)
I go to check my plugins again (Just to make sure and also for extra information), and it appears to say that my Java version is current (is that what "Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.110.21" is? I don't know, I am not good at technology at all. Either way, here is what it looks like: http://oi48.tinypic.com/4kxzz4.jpg). So...if it is current, why is it not working (i.e. I am unable to play games, DO MY COLLEGE CLASSWORK, or play Java-based games)?
If it helps anything, here is what my control panel looks like in regards to Java right now: http://oi45.tinypic.com/2qlxu9t.jpg Am I missing anything that would make Java work?
And before anyone says that Java is not essential: It may be that way to you, but I need Java to do classwork for college. Veterinary college.
So, in short, what is going on with Java, and how can I fix it?
EDITEDITEDIT: I Have found that I can do my classwork without Java. HOWEVER, this DOES NOT mean that the problem is solved or over with. I STILL WANT TO KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND GET JAVA TO WORK. Even if I never actually need it, I would still like to have a (working!!!) Java version because of two reasons: 1) I would rather have such a program and not need it, than need such a program and not have it, and 2) aesthetics. Sorry to say, but I am very particular about how things look when it comes to my belongings, and the fact that Java is messing up is making me actually stressed. In short, I still want the above issue solved, even if it's just purely for the sake of Peace Of Mind.
Another note: I would (please!) appreciate a timely response on this matter. Even if the response is a "We don't know what the issue is and/or we are working to solve this issue.", that would satisfy me for the time being. I would just like a semi-timely response that would let me know that FF/contributors here have read the above and actually give a semblance of a care about their userbase.
    Thank You.

    '''ponyparty, '''
The first prompt you see in Firefox to activate Java is because Java is currently on the Mozilla blocklist ( the "Hot Topic" article [[How to use Java if it's been blocked]] explains the reason for block and how to activate Java, including how to bypass the plugin activation prompt for trusted sites).
cor-el is right about why you are seeing a second [http://oi48.tinypic.com/de8f8y.jpg Java "Security Warning"] when trying to view Java applets, that you have to click to run. This is a ''' Java''' security feature and not anything Firefox does.
Try the same Java sites in Internet Explorer .... don't you also see the Java "Security Warning?" If you want to lower your Java security back to "Medium" in the Java Control Panel, see http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/jcp.html#security for details. That's up to you but I would leave it on "High " since Java 7 is still basically insecure, according to the reports I've seen and [https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2013/01/11/protecting-users-against-java-vulnerability/ this "Protecting Users Against Java Vulnerability]" Mozilla blog post.
If the second Java prompt is your only remaining issue then your problem is really solved, since it is a new Java security feature and not anything in Firefox.

  • Java not working after update 1.6.0_26

Hello knowledgable people. I have a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard, Safari with latest [automatic] updates. Java updated yesterday to 1.6.0_26 and all web content (java/plug-ins/scripts) preferences are enabled, but java is not working (I have checked multiple sites, and non-java websites are okay) since the update, and a Microsoft Office update failed to install today (recognizing of course that this may be a separate issue). I appreciate any ideas about this that you may have, particularly those that do no require wiping my computer and starting over. Thanks.

Check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. Turn that off if you have any installed, try a site with Java.
Might be an incompatible Safari plugin. Back to Safari / Preferences - Security. Deselect: Enable Plugins
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If it's not Extensions or third party plugins, install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo. See if that helps the Java issue.
If you are having problems installing software, run Disk Utility, verify and if necessary, repair the start disk.

  • Clientless VPN and Java not working correctly

In a recent discovery we found that the newest version of java will not work with our Cisco SSLVPN setup
We are using an ASA5510 with 8.0.4 IOS version and 6.1.3 ADSM version and most users use an mstsc.exe smart tunnel to rdp into our terminal server farm.
Our laptops are being imaged with Java 6 update 3 (this works fine) then upgraded to Java 6 update 11, after which the smart tunnel appears to launch but a connection cannot be established. Reinstalling the older version of Java resolves the problem.
I was wondering if anyone else has encountered a similar problem and found a workaround. Currently, company equipment is not being upgraded to the latest version of Java but personal equipment is a different story.

To get the old downloader back follow the directions below.
    # In the [[Location bar autocomplete|Location bar]], type '''about:config''' and press '''Enter'''. The about:config "''This might void your warranty!''" warning page may appear.
    # Click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''', to continue to the about:config page.
    # Filter '''browser.download.useToolkitIT'''.
    # Double click and '''make sure it says true.'''
    # You now have the classic downloader back! Yay!
