Remove ability to "create personal view" in CRM 2011 on premise.

CRM 2011 on premise.  I am trying to remove a users ability to create a personal view.  I would like to remove that option from the pulldown.  TIA

Hi,
If you will set the
Saved View Delete privilege level to
User , then only the user will be able to delete his/her own assigned Saved Views.

  • How to block user create personal view and select ALL VIEW?

How to block user create personal view and select ALL VIEW?

    Hello,
    >create personal view
To restrict creating personal view, you need to modify your existing permission level or create new one. Login with admin account to your site and open role.aspx page (http://siteurl/_layouts/role.aspx). Then click on existing permission or add new permission
level-->and move to "Personal Permissions" section-->uncheck "Manage Personal Views - Create, change, and delete personal views of lists" option. Later you can assign this permission to all users, whom you don't want
    to allow to create.
    >and select ALL VIEW
Since SP does not supports view level permission directly so you have to use custom solution or use below designer solution to restrict user to open any view.

  • Migrating from CRM 2011 on-premise to Online

    Hi there,
We currently run CRM 2011 on-premise, we have 5 users and minimal customisations so far. We would like to migrate from On-premise to Online as we have this available through our Office 365 plan. Is there a migration tool available from Microsoft, or a manual
migration guide? We have searched for info online and can only find 3rd party tools that provide this function that are very pricey for such a small company.
Are we stuck doing this manually or is there a way?
    Steve

For the migrating from CRM on premise to online has two parts:
    1.Customization
You can export the total solution as following:
    Go to Settings->Customization->Export Solution
Click Next->Choose what you want to export.
    Click Next to export.
Then you can go to another CRM Online instance, go to Settings->Solutions->Import solution.
    2. Data
For the out of box function of CRM 2011 Online, we does not support all data export one time. But we support all data export for one entity one time as following:
Let us take example that you want to export data for Account and Contact record types.
    1. Create a view of all fields for the record type Account.
    a. Go to accounts Grid and click on Create personal view
Click Edit Columns in the dialog that pops up and then click Add Columns.
Click the checkbox in the header to select all columns. (This will export data for all columns, some of which may not be importable)
Click ‘ok’ and then Click ‘Save’ on the Ribbon in Advanced find dialog. It will prompt you for name of the view .Provide the name for the view.
    2. Navigate to view (Account) and Export the data in Static Excel format.
    a) Go to Accounts Grid.
    b) Navigate to Accounts view.
    c) Click Export to Excel.
    d) Select “Static worksheet with records from all pages in current view”.
    e) Click Export and save the file. (Account.xls)(The records that are exported will be based on the record for which you had privileges).
    f) Save the file in CSV /XML format from Excel. (Account.csv)

  • Migrating from CRM 2011 on-premises to CRM Online (Attachments)

I need to move our CRM 2011 on-premises to CRM Online. I got my customizations into CRM Online. My next task is to get the data there. Some are easy but I am not sure how to handle
    1) Interconnected records. For instance a case is connected to an account, emails, products, etc. I figured I just will
        a) export and then import leads first as accounts are connected to leads
        b) export and then import emails and products
        c) export and then import cases
However, how to I assure that all these records are still having the same connections (case 100 connected to email 501 and 502, etc)
    2) Some records have files associated with them. The biggest one is emails that have attachments. How can I get these emails into CRM Online including attachments?

Thanks. Scribe is way too expensive. SSIS might be an option I need to explore more. Any opinion about Microsoft Dynamics CRM Instance Adapter? I am reading some articles about it and consider giving it a try. However, I can't even find the download despite
    a lot of searches.

  • Personal view is not available

    Hi All
I got a user who is opening a sharepoint 2010 site and getting a blank page (Quick launch is there and Ribbon is there) but no content in middle.
He provided one URL and it is
    http://abc.qintra.com/bu/EBCPE/EBCPEPM/LaughmanAppProjStatu/Lists/Application%20Status/PersonalViews.aspx?PageView=Personal&ShowWebPart={E23A95C8-8DAF-40A7-AF63-931D7DDD27FE}
In above URL, i can understand he was trying to open a list "Application Status" in "personal views".....When i checked all the available views for that list from List setting , i don't see any personal view there.
I tried to restore the previous backup in order to get the personal view, but it was not available there.
Please help me to understand what this url says after Personalviews.aspx...
Also please let me know if we can restore the personal view anyhow...
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Aditya,
The user might have created a personal view for the list library, you have to check the view using the user credential to see how the view gets rendered.
Users can create personal view, but it would be specific to them, but not to all users, and users will not be able to view other users view.
Also view might have got deleted, or has some issue.
As per your question, the url says, the view was created as personal view and specific to a webpart (Guid is given as part of the url).
To resolve, try creating a new view for the user, or ask the user to create the view as per their requirement.
    Hope this helps!

  • CRM 2011 Outlook Client not showing all columns in Opportunity Views

    Versions:
    CRM: 2011 On-Premise - 5.0.9688.1533
    Outlook: 2010 Professional - 14.0.6122.5000 32bit
    CRM Client for Outlook: 5.0.9690.1992
    Basic Problem
The Outlook Client views that show up in Opportunities do not have all the columns that are in the view.
Some of the views do, but not all of them.
    Example:
    View Name: Won Opportunities
Columns in view: Created on, Location, Quote Type, Scope of Work, Quote Number, Booked Sale Date.....8 other
    columns (many custom columns)
Columns in View in Outlook: Icon, Quote Number, Categories, Flag....thats all.
    Other Notes
This only happens in the Opportunity section of the Outlook Client.
This does not happen in advanced find in Outlook or anywhere in the web client. This does not happen for any other entity.
This happens on all of our users Outlook clients.
I have tried recreating the view.
No error messages are recording in any logs that I can find.
Any ideas on why this is happening or how to fix it?
    Thank you
    Paul

    1. Are you sure this is a System View and not a User Defined View? Can you take a screenshot of all the availalbe Outlook views when you click on the little down arrow to add a new view? Yes.  See the screen shot at the bottom.  It is a public
    view.
    2. What happens when you close the view and add it back?  same results.
    3. What happens when you restart Outlook? I ask because if you customized your System Views, those are only persistent for a given session. If your restart Outlook, then it should reset the View.  we have tried that.  and uninstalled Outlook client
and reinstalled.  And uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled.  Same results.  The only view that works for opportunities is the Default Custom View.  The strange thing is that the filters are working just fine. just not the columns.
    4. A workaround - have you tried creating a new System View similar to the one you want? Yes.  same results

  • CRM 2011 - Exporting a view in 2011 Outlook Client

Using CRM 2011 on - premise with 2011 outlook client RU17
For a few custom entities exporting the default view to excel within Outlook Client results in a generic error pop up.
With tracing on I see the following error:
System.Web.HttpUnhandledException: Microsoft Dynamics CRM has experienced an error. Reference number for administrators or support: #0086DABC: System.Web.HttpUnhandledException (0x80004005): Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown.
---> Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: Number of link entities in query exceeded maximum limit.
The same view exports to Excel with no issues via IE.
I have seen references to this error but nothing that has helped or pointed out a difference to look at between the Outlook Client versus IE.
    Regards
    Robert

if this is machine specific and Outlook Client related then I would start with ensuring the machine has all the latest Office and OS updates not just the latest security patch but all the latest updates.  You'll also want to ensure there are no other
add-ins causing a conflict in Outlook, virus protection is not causing an issue, the machine has sufficient memory, etc.  Basically ensure the machine has been optimized for the Outlook Client.

  • CRM 2011 Data as an External List

    Hi,
Im having trouble creating an external data source in sharepoint designer 2010. I would like to consume the web services provided by CRM 2011 on Premise.
    http://crm.domain.com/Organization/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc
I have tried many different types of URL but whenever i try to connect i get an error saying that the url did not return a valid description of an XML Web service.
I've tried many different URLs, ive added ?wsdl  and ?wsdl=wsdl0 etc. but i always get the same error.
If i put the URL in the browser I can see all the XML without any problems.
    Has anyone encountered this before?
Right now im looking into creating a BDC Model from Visual Studio instead but i was really hoping to be able to do this in SPD.
    Any help appreciated.

Hi, Sorry about not replying earlier.
Been busy. In the end this is how I got a list of CRM data into Sharepoint.
I actually took two different approaches.
One was to use sharepoint designer to access the Secure store key i created, and pull the data from the CRM database. Then i formated it in sharepoint designer. This is a supported approach. And if you use the filtered views provided in the CRM 2011 database
you will be able to get the security features on the data that you setup in CRM (for the user that you have configured the secure store key for ).
That is the easy way. The hard way is to create a new BDC Project for sharepoint. Then you can create a model, in XML that represents the various opperations you will do on the data. This will include, unique find, list, update, delete, etc.
Then you have to go and create those methods in the service class that comes with the model. (this is where you will write code to get the data from CRM)
My suggestion is to get that working first and load in some static data in the code. I had lots of headaches in this part especially with the model.
Say thats working and you were able to create a list that gets data from the new content type then the next thing is to go back into the code and add a web reference to the WSDL file from the CRM 2011 developer resources section on your installation. This
didnt work out of the box for me i had to read a lot of blogs to iron out little bits in the autogenerated code that didnt quite work for me. Also any .net 4 stuff is ruled out as well. But i managed to get the service object created with some CRM credentials,
(probably best to use the secure key again here to avoid having creds in the source, and to decouple any administrative tasks)
Next you can build queries and pull the data straight out of the CRM webservice. I would suggest starting with the list function ( its probably called something else ) and write the code to pull out all the items you want in the list, etc. Then move on to
    the other crud functions.
If you are looking for performance for reporting, etc. then use the filtered views, its faster and has less overhead than the webservice.
REST is also an option but i think you can only pull 50 items at a time, so you will have to write the code around that. A bit masochistic though.
Its much easier to get the webservices working with silverlight as you can use the sdk libs i think. but i remember there being a problem with authentication and having to re-enter user/pass and stuff like that.
Ill try and answer any specifics if i can. .
    cheers

    Hi All,
I encountered this same issue today after installing CRM 2011.
    CRM 2011 on Server A
SQL and SSRS 2008 R2 on Server B
I found that I got the same errors described here when running the standard reports even after I had installed the Reporting Extension (CRM 2011 replacement for CRM 4.0 Data Connector). The reason I got the error was because the 'Data Source Type' had not
    been updated in Report Manager.
    Here's how I resolved:
    1. Browse to Report Manager (http://SERVERB/Reports)
    2. Open the Organisation_MSCRM folder
    3. Click Show Details
    4. Open the MSCRM_DataSource
    5. Change the Data Source Type from Microsoft SQL Server
    to Microsoft Dynamics CRM SQL
*Note: - This option is only available once Reporting Extension has been installed on SSRS Server.
    6. Clear the contents of the Connection String box
    7. Set the Connect Using: option to Credentials Supplied by user running the report
    but do NOT check the
Use as Windows Credentials when connecting to the DataSource option.
    8. Click Apply
    9. Restart the SQL Reporting Services Service in
    Reporting Services Configuration Manager
    10. Test by running one of the Standard CRM Reports (e.g. User Summary)
    Ta Da!! - Success!!
    Hope this helps!

  • SCCM 2012 R2 - Remove ability to modify folders and retain create collection

    Hi All,
I am working through Role Based administration permissions and running into some hold ups.  I am currently
attempting to segregate access for "Edge Administrators" in a way that they can only manage their own items.  essentially i would be setting up a lower level administrator role which has the ability to manage all functions excluding infrastructure
items.  I have pretty well configured it exactly as i need however i am not able to remove the ability to create and modify folders within the tree.  In most cases this would not be a big deal but i am trying to remove all possibility for these "Edge
Administrators" to modify anything outside of their assigned scopes and collections.
Has anyone had success with setting this sort of thing up?  i can remove the ability to manage folders however
this removes the ability for the admins to create collections.  any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    JAK

Folders are not subject to RBA so there's no way to prevent that IIRC.

  • Muse ability to create / edit Wordpress themes

To start with I'm a graphic designer who knows html / css (intermediate level) and I have experience with wordpress but i'm not a pro with it, my clients want me to design wordpress website as most of them are familiar with it, I would like to state that although Adobe has Business Catalyst as an option for CMS, but my clients are more inclined towards Wordpress almost 90% of them.
Adobe has provided support to wordpress code and we can even edit / create wordpress themes in dreamweaver cs6, I would like to have the same feature integrated into Muse. Ability to create Wordpress themes or atleast to edit them, I can assure adobe that a lot of Graphic Designers like me are in search of a tool that can able them to create wordpress sites without going too much into the code.
I have been using Headway theme framework for Wordpress right now but still I have more command of design in Muse rather in in Headway, with muse i can design as i will but with headway there are aesthatic limitations which i can't overcome as in intermediate level developer.
My Idea for Adobe Dev's is guys please add the ability in muse to create / edit wordpress themes. You guys have given that Ability in Dreamweaver but I would like to see that in Muse As well so that it benfits graphic designers like me.
    Thanks

note:  I did provide a simple sloppy solution at the bottom of this novel.  But what needs to happen IS going to happen.  Why?
    J.....D.......I.
Sorry Adobe, but you're gonna be busy next Friday.  Every Friday.  Forever.  But we love you for it
    My humble opinions
From a customer benefit point of view, a wordpress template that they can update themselves isn't possible in Muse as far as I know, but it's nice to be able to design a site to specific standards when the customer is picky and too involved.
I know better than to let this happen but it happens regardless when you're a small fry in this business.
From a dev  point of view I think it's pretty good for my level of coding:
(HTML, CSS, I'm loving these widgets, barely understand Javascript, PHP, Actionscript, and Python,  my SEO and hosting skills are good and up to date for small sites and local ranking.)
I haven't NOT been able to find a widget for everything I've been requested to integrate,.  There are so many and more every day.  But many times the look and feel of the widget is an issue for the client.  And most often, the ability for them to manage content is a deal breaker with many clients.
From a design point of view, It KICKS ***.  I already had years of InDesign, Dreamweaver, PS, AI, and recently Behance and Prosite under my belt and I have the full CC suite.  So the first time I used Muse.......I cried a little....out of joy.  Oh the webfonts....sniff sniff....and the Jquery.....it's....so beautiful....and I'm done with this entire site in 7 hours...
Now in 2015 I'm diving into Wordpress (don't ask why.  It's a long story and you wouldn't care)
I'm seeing the real difference now, and someone please correct my if I'm wrong or missing something.  Or anything.  I want to know everything.  Teach me.
    1.  SEO.  Wordpress in combination with techniques using google analytics and adwords is GUARANTEED to give better rankings and overall has stronger tools for achieving this.
    2.  Wordpress (if you get a theme that comes with the editing functions) has a very intuitive interface for clients who want to manage and update their own client.  I've been pleasantly surprised while simultaneously horrified at how many clients are asking for this.  I guess anyone who has basic CURRENT computer skills and has worked with some kind of database or cms is pretty confident with using wordpress on their own hosting account.  Im learning their is a browser based editor too so they can make changes from anywhere anytime.  I love it when they make a hideous graphic to save a buck and stamp it on the home page header of their site when I'm trying to use it as portfolio content.  The robots are getting stronger every day, but they have no souls.
    3.  Wordpress has wayyyyyy more widgets and other ways of integrating stuff.  BIG stuff.  Lots and lots of BIG companies using it and involving 3rd 4th and 5th party B2B SAS WYSIWYG CMS CRM ...ok I'll stop now hehe.  Just sayin theirs thousands of businesses that speialize in making things and stuff for other businesses that have wordpress sites.
BUT I do see Muse-based things and stuff piling up.  Maybe it'll get there soon?....Or sell out and bow down to Wordpress in some way?  I'm watching but not waiting.
    SOLUTION:
It's not much, but if you have a client that is already in wordpress and wants you to take over the site, clean it up, change a bunch of stuff, and manage it on your end, try this:
    1.  use a HTML to PDF maker and snatch each page off the web so you don't have to get every little piece of code from them.  Screenshots aren't perfect enough.  the pdf will be the exact same pixel size.
2.drop the pdf into a layer in muse and use it as a cheat sheet to trace and re-create the entire site from scratch!  Sounds stupid at first, but if you're good at graphics and know enough front end code stuff, the process will go quickly...So quickly that you might actually cry a little if you were there in the days of HTML 1 and HotDog and Homesite.
Even if there's forms, search functions, slide shows, eCommerce, maps, a database full of images or blog entries,
Muse can either do it or work with it.  The capability is there for most of the intermediate stuff other than blogs and image galleries.
So as long as the client wants YOU to manage content and make future updates, and the site's not as big as ebay or sony, it is doable.  I've even found ways of pulling the wordpress code from an old site and putting it into muse and vice-versa.  It's on Youtube if you look hard enough.  But I don't recommend doing this.  There's too many things that can go wrong, or come up later to make you have to turn back.  I DO recommend using Dreamweaver and CSS Designer if you want more control out of Muse.  I haven't needed to yet but I found ways of doing that on...you guessed it.  Youtube.
    Dear Adobe,
    Thank you for making Muse.
    I like it very much.
    I like you very much.
I've been using much of you since the 90's and you have been wonderful.  And thank you for buying Macromedia and Syntrillium.  Adobe Audition is now delightfully beast when it comes to editing hip-hop vocals and cleaning up news interviews recorded outdoors during a 50mph dust storm  and the talent has a sinus infection as well as 2 terrible kids on the set.  (MCs ask me why I do all the tracking and editing in Audtion instead of ProTools or Ableton......one word.....Ghost Hunters.)
    But....
I have one tiny little request to make.  I'm sure it won't be a big deal to make happen.  And little Timmy has cancer so please hurry....
    1.  Can you please continue to update Muse as often as possible with features to make it integrate better with wordpress sites that have been brought in?  And add features that allow you to work with all the most popular 3rd and 4th party tools that are being used with Wordpress?  And keep all this inside the Muse editing environment.  And can you please add CSS Designer to Muse?  Or something more than just downloading the code and putting it back in?  Maybe just put Dreamweaver inside Muse as a little pop-up handler for when you want to mess with the code?  Maybe a JQuery WYSIWYG handler too inside the Dreamweaver inside Muse?  Also can you please round up all the information put out by people outside of Adobe and Lynda and all the popular Muse tutorial sites that pertains to workarounds for dealing with Wordpress in BOTH directions (wp to muse, muse to wp) then update muse to accommodate them so we don't have to?  CSS 3 did it.  Remember IE6 compatibility hacks?  I'm sure you could do this one late Friday night easily.
And once you've fixed all the necessary integration issues between wp and muse and all 3rd and 4th party apps and services and have added editing capabilities within the Muse environment (like the widget control panel but one for every wp app, service, and workaround, could you please provide all CC members with an entire video library of your own explaining how to use all the new features and how wp works, and have Lynda do the same?  And can we please have a free full membership to Lynda for being CC members?  We're totally worth it.  You're so rich and powerful now and it's because of people like us that convinced the company they worked for in the early 2000's to buy me InDesign 1.0 because it was better than Quark and will be the next big thing.  The Director of Marketing laughed and said no so I BOUGHT MY OWN COPY.  ...um...digressed....
    Oh ya.
It's because of people like us that love and cherish your products that any and all competition to Adobe is pretty much considered a niche program or is gobbled up by Adobe faster than honey badger.  Adobe is more powerful than many entire nations on planet earth and probably gets to write exact scripts for network news anchors to read whenever they're mentioned.  A list.
And after you do all that can you just go ahead and buy wordpress?  I know it would be a lot of wasted work to not just buy wp first but there's a lot of politics involved and a lot a peoples feelings would get hurt.  So please make muse do all that stuff first then buy wp for us.
    Love, Matt
PS, Thank you so much for putting a Recover function in this blog entry part of the site!  I accidentally hit something on my stupid glide pad after the word "us" on the last paragraph.  XOXOXOXOXO!!!
